Make your legacy a legend

The Jinshou turned the direction of his jagged edged blade, arching low towards the filthy crouched mercenary with blood lust fueling his furious rush. As the iron edge made it's way towards the warrior however, Rokairo twisted in the air, as if to roll over the arm, leaving a short tail of rope in his place. As his boots landed roughly upon the soft sands, the Falcon then took a firm hold of the rope's course texture, pulling it in tightly to loop about the other longer end.

Again the samurai returned his blade towards the direction of his foe, as his two allies began to rush in behind him to assist, merely five feet to the rear. As the strike flew in towards Cross however, the mercenary yanked the rope downwards, guiding the cold metal towards the hot ground. Then by tucking his shoulder upon the slanted shoulder of his opponent, the highly regarded mercenary rolled across the Jinshou's back, dipping below the high swing of another samurai parallel to the sands and so low that he moved between the man's legs.

Without hesitation the cloaked rogue tore the rope firmly upwards, lifting the samurai off his feet into the man who's arm was tied while dealing severe pain to the Jinshou's groin. Turning upon his heels and following with his blade, the third man arched his crude weapon downwards at him, while the samurai who's legs he'd weaved between lifted his blade upwards towards the mercenary. With swift hands Rokairo first thrust his fine dagger to the side, catching the downwards moving thin sword and forcing it to block the other's weapon, all the while as the rogue wrapped his thick rope about the third jinshou's head.

The first then stood, his tied arm facing towards his foe now. With a downward chop, the man attempted to remove his binding, desparate to be free from this inanimate oppressor. As Cross yanked the third samurai's head forwards however, the poor drouk was guided into the path of execution. The first warrior was now free, but his ally died at his own hands...head dangling by a small portion of remaining neck tissue as the blood fled from his body to greet the sands below. The fallen warriors body hit with a firm thud upon the market street.

"Nai shin wa!" He roared, the second lower samurai turning his blade to stab as the first Jinshou sliced upwards. Side stepping the lunge, and taking firm hold of the first's wrists was a simple feet for such an experience brawler, and as the first of the samurai's arms were taken, and twisted about Rokairo pivoted upon his feet to hurl his foe upon the blade of another.

The blood poured from his back as he whimpered and coughed, horrified at his own failure....soon however the peril in his eyes faded as all else would turn black. The final desert warrior became ferocious, no pity but only rage appearing in his foreign eyes. Tossing aside the fallen corpse so that he could stand upon shaky legs, only a primal roar would emerge from his lips.

Slowly placing the rope back in it's place upon his belt...the mercenary stood otherwise motionless. Come on...

Reaver ran off the boat towards Kat and Priscilla, hoping to not get left behind. The last time I fell behind i nearly died. Better keep up this time. When he got close to the group, he checked over his shoulder just in case, and found a pickpocket staring at him. "Get out of here" stated Reaver menacingly to the lowly thief. "Can you believe it? Five seconds and someone's stealing from you, i swear if i had eyes in the back of my head, things would be a lot easier!" cursed Reaver. Wait a second? Would that be possible? Hm. He kept following the others, yet completely lost in thought.

User Image Liea sat on the roof of a wooden building. Her long hair blowing in the breeze. She preferred to get around by rooftop in cities rather than on the ground. Less people noticed her. That was probably for the best, especially in this town where most people were eager to make fast cash. There was a reward for her return after all, and it wasn't that hard to spot her. Her ears and tail, always visible, were a dead giveaway. She was unable to conceal these feature or even change her form all together. Something she should have mastered long ago.

As she sat in the wind her mind drifted into darker memories. She hated most people, many beings had a hand in her past, not just the vampires that destroyed her family. It was their fault she was confined to hide. But even while she resented them she still wondered what she had done. Liea didn't believe that things just happened, she had to have done something to deserve her past. Shaking the thoughts away she looked down to the streets below.

The Striped Demon

Kat sighed as she led Priscilla and Reaver to her den. It was a small, but comfortable place. It was a den dug in the remains of a home that had suffered through a terrible wind storm. The roof, Kat had made herself with some leftover board she found from an abandoned building. She went inside her den, and sat down on her small bed made of woven cloth stuffed with cotton. "Sorry it's not much, I don't live by a lot." she said, yawning, putting her banner next to her bed. She looked at them, pitying herself for not having more to offer to them.

Sydelle West

Sydelle returned to her seat at her desk, doing her best to put things out of her mind. It was time to get down to business. There were many merchants waiting to see her. Men that were not quite as daring as the scum of the street in Thieves Haven, but did not exactly wear white gloves. She was scribbling down a waiting list when Grr started grumbling in the corner. At first she ignored him. He tended to smell stray dogs passing in front of the building and become agitated. But when he began grumbling again a few moments later, she sighed and stood up. There was probably a dog laying outside the door. She opened it and stepped outside....but she saw nothing. She looked around for a moment. Her gaze finally landed on a figure crouching on a rooftop a ways off. In another place it may not have been threatening, but to survive in Thieves Haven everything must be perceived as a threat. Sydelle narrowed her eyes and called Grr to her side. He lumbered to the door, sniffing and grumbling, clearly upset. Sydelle wondered what it was about the figure that upset him so much.

From the grand woods, to her long travel; Ria'ko finally ended up in Thieves Heaven. How she ended up here is amazingly sad. The creature truly had a lost sense of direction. For now, she strolled on in, hopping to find either a map, directions, or even a guide would do, so that she could make her way to Dragons Breath.

Upon arrival, many glances where in her direction, hell even thieves tried to steal from her, but in the end, they get sent flying with the back of her hooves. Kids ran in circles around her giggling and cheering, while the humans try to avoid her. She knew very well how the humans react to her kind, heck anyone who isn't their own look poorly to the Centaur race.

For now, she thought it was best to wait for opportunity to present itself, if and when it decides to. in any case, if none would be willing to help her, then she would just have to find her way on her own....If she can that is. Ria'ko is an intelligent woman, don't get her wrong. but she spent all her life in the grand woods. She knows not her ways around to other locations. The only reason she is out of place is to go to the means of why her territory is being invaded.

User Image As Liea sat on the roof her ears twitched. All the sound around her irritated her sensitive ears put she had learned to let everything fall in the background. That went for the growling as well.

Watching as the people went about their lives her ever wandering thoughts returned to the dark place of her mind. She wondered what her life would have been like if she hadn't lost her home and family. Sometimes she wished she had just died with them, it seemed better than what she had gone through. But she dismissed the thoughts, she wasn't one to give up.

Looking down she scanned the crowd for her next target. Someone to steal from so she could sell her loot for food. Normally she would be down on the ground in an alley with a cloak and hood waiting for someone to come to her with a job. But she had to lay low. They were on her tail now and she couldn't risk being caught. In a few days perhaps she would be able to return to her normal routine.

Victor Gadd
* * *
Bounty Hunter

Water. Quite miraculous how many uses it has. Food, transportation, cleaning... and battle. Water is the one environment in which Surge fighters lose their advantage. Any attempts to charge themselves with Dengen result in an unfortunate discharge that harms themselves more than others. In addition to the dangers of self-electrocution, Surge fighters require a certain ammount of focus. Let's see how much focus you have when a raging bounty hunter tackles you into murky waters in the middle of a sandstorm.

The two warriors struggled beneath the waves, both holding onto what little breath they'd retained from the surface. The current tossed them to a fro, making practical attempts of battle useless. They wildly clawed at eachother, trying to get a hold on a throat or soft piece of flesh. Victor thrashed through the yellowed water, his visibility limmited to just beyond his face. His enemy was a mere hazy outline. He continued to swing his sword in a slow, dragging motion through the water. As his sword swung wide, two hands shot from the haze and latched onto Victor's throat. Damn.

The current pulled the two into the docks. Victor's back smacked hard against the wood support. The fingers arround his throat tightened. The lights from above the water became dim. Victor let his fingers slip from the hands of his assailant. Prying the man's hands away was a futile effort. Victor instead grabbed both sides of the man's head. Bracing his feet against the wood behind him, he thrust the both of them through the water. Victor kept his elbows stiff, pushing the man's head. There was a dull thud through the water as his enemy's head collided with the adjacent support of the dock. The fingers arround his throat loosened and fell. The haze of a man began to sink to the rocky bottom, unconcious.

* * *

Victor hoisted himself out of the water and back onto the docks. The sand storm was in a full flurry. He couldn't stay exposed for more than a minute. Picking the closest boat, Victor leaped up, grabbing the rail and pulling himself over. Luckily, the door to the lower decks was unlocked. Finally. A door I don't have to break.

The lower decks creaked as the ship rocked in the storm. It was dark and quiet, but somehow cozy. Victor allowed himself to relax just a little. Picking a spot on the deck, he sat cross legged, breathing deeply to slow his heart rate. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out the metal cylinder that contained the map. So.... this is what's causing all the fuss. So many people had been busy trying to kill him for this map. The mystery was begining to annoy him. He reached for the stopper. It was time to discover the true intention of the fat man.

Priscilla smiled. "It's rather secluded..." She crossed her arms and leaned on the wall. "I suppose this was easier than repairing the entire house and going from that." She eyed the banner curiously before pushing herself off of the wall. "So staying here isn't getting anything done. Where are you headed next?" She asked in a rather bored manner.

Reaver followed Kat and Priscilla into the den. "Its quite cozy." stated Reaver. He was looking around when he heard priscilla ask where Kat was headed next. The only reason i came here was to find out about the Cerberus pack, yet I don't see any point in striking out at them yet. All that will earn me is death. Yet there is safety in numbers. Reaver reached inside his bag and pulled out a map. "You did say it was best to keep moving, so what are our options? I do know that the pirates on that ship probably wouldn't mind us being on that ship when they leave, which isn't anytime soon. Or we could always pay our way onto a ship, or even travel to Okentro on foot. What do you two think would be the best move?"

Kat listened as both Priscilla and Reaver spoke. "No...I get seasick quite easily, but I could get you both a trip to Okentro or even Grand Port. If you both go, I'll promise I'll meet you there on foot." she said, rolling over and yawning. "Knowing me I'm probably going to end up in Ra'kashi. Since stealing there is pretty risky, trying to become a pet of one of the rich families would be my best bet."

"Ra'kashi, thats the big city that makes a huge ammount of gold with that big arena isn't it? I know a girl from there who's in a pretty high end family. I could tell them you're coming and it'd get you a better chance to get a place for yourself." Priscilla thought about the girl she met whilst there. But it was Evaen who smiled at it. She personally liked the girl, dark humor, not one for being docile and most of all, she was born into a seat of power. Then she thought about how a thief would be treated in that city. Arena combat was usually a death sentance.

Upon entering the city, further on in, she witnessed many strange faces, and different races coexisting together. Yet, why is it that cold stares continued to be glanced in her way. She was getting sick and tired of everyone and she meant EVERYONE with these false accusations of her race! Where do they get off thinking they her kind was some type of barbaric thing? In return to these glances she would stop in her tracks and stomp her right hove, as to ward them off.

Just enough to give them a good warning or to get them to move past her faster. She began to head for the docks, hopefully someone there would have a map and would be kind enough to show her the way to her destination. However, the closer she got, the more grins and whispers began to grow. She heard of slavers, but she never imagined to find them here of all places. One even had the audacity to ask her of her business, Obviously, The female remained silent till she found head captain.

What was more concerning, was the glances he kept on making to his crew behind her. So with a curious brow raised, she turned her head, only to see men charging at her figure. She quickly reacted by bucking them with her hind legs, watching them fly past the market district. She even went as far as gripping the head captain and another crew member by their throats and tossing them out onto the sea. Luckily for them, they weren't to far to swim to their boats. "Forget it, I'll just head home! Twas an idiotic idea to come here in the first place!" her anger began to rise in her voice, as the female centaur turned around and left the area for t long journey back to the forest.

((Enter)) Once the spire hurried on in. Her smile grew wider. This was the place to be. Sure the crime rate was up here but who cared? The law was lacking! Thieves, Lowlifes, even illegal selling of products happened all right here! Killers to.....slavers...But then there pirates...so that's not so bad...right? Regardless, Charlotte had to keep her head down.

She pulled her hat further down to obscure her face, shadowing it as much as she could. Sure it was starting to rain, so a place to stay shouldn't be to hard, it was being able to keep a good eye open to make sure your own wallet doesn't get stolen. She looked back to Chris with a small smile before looking to the small crowd ahead.

"It's not the perfect place, but at least the law here isn't that bad. I have yet to see my poster." She teased before continuing ahead.

The Wanderer

User Image

The journey between the cities had been relatively uneventful, though that was not to say that the wanderer's partner hadn't attempted to make things lively or interesting. Still, it continued to seem impossible of extracting even the slightest expression of emotion from Chris, and he was sure it was eventually going to get to Charlotte. There was, however, one thing that had crept into his thoughts during their travel, though... It was those scars on her back. One way or another, they would continue to press into his mind, making him wonder over where they came from, what had caused them, and so on... which he would then promptly push away.

Regardless of this, they were here in the den of thieves. A peculiar choice, to be sure, but Chris might have been able to guess why they were there. At one moment, he saw his companion turn to him with a small smile, before she spoke out about the place. Silent as usual, he followed the Spire around, the beginnings of rain starting to moisten over his hair and cloak.
