Molly had pulled off her corsage and placed it on the pile as well, and was about to slip off her converses because she was going to jump in after him…
Until she heard him screaming and immediately her heart leapt to her throat as her blood ran cold. No…no no no…it was just suppose to be all in good fun! She thought he could swim! He just said he use to go to the beach to go swimming! If Molly was thinking rationally, she could have realized that Bix was now trolling her, but no. All she could focus on right now was that she had pushed him off the pier and he couldn’t swim and it was all her fault. She felt like the most horrible person on the face of the planet.
Molly, believe it or not, had been a public pool and also a lake park lifeguard quite a few times. It went along with that ‘I’ll get a job wherever I can to make money’ bit, so she was lifeguard certified. The young woman bounded off the edge if the pier in a unusually graceful dive after the albino, and once she was in the water and surface, grabbed him strongly with one arm and started to haul him back to the beach shore.
Oh goodness, oh goodness, oh goodness..

Suddenly she found the flailing hunter to be immovable.
And laughing.
When she grabbed him, he grabbed her back and held her around the waist. "Just kidding."
Bix seemed to be easily keeping himself afloat by treading water. He bit his lip to keep from laughing too much. She really did look worried.
"It's okay.. I'm fine! But to be fair, you did just push me off a pier in the middle of the night!"

Molly let out a startled yelp as Bix grabbed her around the waist suddenly, interrupting her somewhat frantic swim back to the shore. She whirled around to face him, her usual red ringlets now obscuring a good portion of her vision as her locks now clung flat and straight to her skin. But he was laughing and she was so confu—
Just kidding.
Molly stared at him wide eyed and horrified.
Just kidding.

Just kidding.
Molly just stared at him for a long, long while, that pure look of shock and disbelief on her face. She wasn’t laughing, she wasn’t smiling, and she most certainly did not look relieved. Her lips quivered and even thought she was soaked, her eyes were started to gleam with unshed tears. Molly pushed him away, a simple but firm one arm shove that came with wielding a monster lance and she started to make her way back towards the beach.
She sniffled as she swam, and once her feet hit the sand she stumbled a bit to get a bit more out of the water, where she then just kneeled and buried her face in her hands and started to cry.
Good job, Bix.

"It was a joke.. it.." Bix frowned as Molly fled to the beach and he literally smacked his own face into the surface of the water several times.
Idiot. Idiot. Idiot.
Bix slopped out of the ocean, layers of suit coat and shirt hanging heavily off of his lanky frame. He pulled off the jacket and tossed it into the sand, even pulling off the heavy shirt and tossing that. He was wearing a white tank top underneath so he wasn't totally innappropriate. The shoes got toed off as well before he dropped to his knees in front of her.
"I'm sorry Molly.." He tried to reach out and take her hand but she was clutching her face. "It was just a joke. I told you I could swim before? Remember? Plus you pushed me in as a joke and.." His hand dropped to rest on her sand covered knee.
"I guess I was just being a stupid idiot. I'm sorry I scared you like that." He peered at her, legitimately sorry, and swiped his soaked bangs from his face. He wanted to hug her.. or something, scooting closer and touching her shoulder.

Now, not only did Molly feel like the most horrible person ever, she also felt like the dumbest person ever.
“Buh…but what if you were just saying that and you really couldn’t swim and I had pushed you off and—“ Molly sobbed, her voice further muffled from behind her hands. “—and…and I am really dumb and—“ She sniffled. “—I’m really sorry I pushed you off! I shouldn’t have! You were just getting so worked up so I thought something silly would be good and—“ She sniffled again, “—and I’m really dumb.”

Awww god she was cute.
"You are not dumb!" Bix slid up next to her, his embarassment and apprehension disappeared when she seemed so upset. He slid his arms around her shoulders and hugged her close, tucked her sobbing head under his chin. They were both soaking wet so that wasn't really an issue.
"I'm just a stupid jerk. I probably would have dove in to save you too. Do you want to go back out swimming and you can hold me under water until you feel better?" He was joking but... well if she wanted to, he'd let her. "I'd still like to swim with you, if you want."
The breeze was chill on their wet skin but the hug was warm. Even if she was sobbing, it was still nice. Bix was more concerned with making sure he didn't ruin a good night. "I don't want to give you the worst end to a date ever. By that way.. you have a mean lance arm." He teased. "Never punch me with that hand."

Molly just seemed to cry harder at Bix’s joke about holding him underwater. “N-no!” She sob, horrified. She seemed to stiffen for a moment as he pulled her against him, and it wasn’t the fact they were both wet…but was just…nice to be held like that. She’d enjoy it more if she wasn’t crying about thinking that she nearly could have killed him even though he was trolling.
After a few more moments, she slowly lowered her hands. “Y-you’re not giving me the worst end to a date ever…” She sniffled, and then exhaled slowly, reaching up to rub the back of her hand across her eyes. She wanted to try and smile at the tease, but she just wasn’t feeling up to it right this moment. Causing harm to people she liked didn’t give her happy thoughts. “…We…can really go swimming for a bit?” She asked quietly after a moment.

"Of course we can." Bix squeezed her again and kissed her hair again, this time doing it without thinking. It just seemed to fit in with the comforting thing. "The water's pretty nice, right?"
Bix released her from his embrace and sat back on his feet for a moment before standing up. He offered Molly his hand to help her up out of the sand. "If you don't want to swim in your dress you can wear my shirt. It's probably huge on you. But.. you don't have to. You can swim in the dress too."
Didn't matter to him. "I'll race you to the water... whenever you are ready." He gave Molly a challenging grin.

Molly just felt all kinds of terrible now that she had cried, in addition to somewhat ruining the evening by pushing Bix off of the pier, and she let out a shaky sigh. She blushed somewhat as she felt his lips against her hair, and after a moment she took his hand and stood, pushing some of her flattened hair back away from her face.
Her lips were still pulled into a disappointed frown at herself and she shook her head a bit. “…O…oh thank you…but I’ll just keep in this…” She smoothed a hand down the front of her soaked dress again, and tried to smile when he challenged her. “…I’m sure you’ll beat me, anyways…” She murmured. “You have some very long legs after all…” She glanced back up at the pier above them…she did want to jump off of it again, though…

Bix watched her eyes dart to the peir only the briefest of moments and had the sudden urge to just sweep her up, run of the edge and jump in. But she seemed so down that he was afraid of messing up again.
"C'mon." Bix tugged her hand, and gave an encouraging grin. He wouldn't appear to be mad, sad upset or anything and hopefully she'd shake if off when she realized that those little things didn't bother him. Instead of running right for the water he led her towards the steps leading back up to the pier. He suddenly noticed his things, stacked on the bench and he laughed.
"You.. you little bug!" Bix laughed and squeezed her hand. "You picked my pocket while I was being a dweeb!" Bix walked to the edge of the pier, toes squeezing the very end of the wood, and then took a few steps back.
"Ready?" He hopped, ready to take a running leap.

Molly ‘eep’d softly as she was tugged, but followed him back up to the pier, and then blinked in surprise before she looked down at his belongings. Her cheeks tinted red as she rubbed the side of her neck. “…O…oh, I’m sorry…” She squeaked. “I didn’t want to ruin your phone or anything…” When asked if she was ready, Molly hesitated. “…Just one moment, please…” She then slipped out of her very soaked converses, and placed them underneath the bench as well.
“R-ready…!”

Bix looked at her and pndered what he could do to cheer her up. even just a little. He didn't like her uneasiness, like she'd done something terribly wrong.
He squeezed her hand. "One.... " he swung their hands in time. "Two..." He swung again. "Aaaand..." he leaned in and kissed her on the cheek suddenly. "THREE!"
He let go of her hand, not wanting to drag her if she hesitated, and leapt off with a yell. "YAAAAAAH!" Splash!

Oh, a count down, okay…
As Bix started, Molly waited, tensing to get ready for the jump, but she let out a squeak of surprise instead as he kissed her cheek again. Not only that, he let go of her hand as well and then jumped in. Molly stood there on the pier by herself for a few moments, blinking, as she reached up to touch her cheek again. Her lips pulled up a bit, and she peered over the edge down into the water where Bix had jumped.
Her red head would disappear, and a few moments would go by. Silence, until the sound of a thump thump thump was heard, which indicated that Molly was running towards the end of the pier and after a moment the young woman leapt and soared through the air, spinning her arms like a windmill as she fell and then landed in the water.

Bix came up from underwater just as Molly leapt in next to him. He smeared back his bangs and waited for her to come up, grinning like a fool.
When her soaking curls came above water he just treaded next to her. "Feel better?"

Molly surfaced, and ended up doing the same thing as Bix, pushing her flattened hair out of her face.
She paused at Bix’s question as she started to tread as well, and after a moment she smiled softly and nodded her head. “Y-yeah…I am.” She pushed her hair back from her face entirely for now, content to stay where they were for the time being. “…Bix? You said…you’d get nervous…may I…ask why? But if you don’t want to answer, um, that’s alright…”
