"More like stupid," Shun said flatly, "Feel free to run to their HQ to punch out everyone in your path. Just don't associate yourselves with us once you get taken down."
Letting out a breath, he just shook his head to himself. The boogies. He never did like them. It might have been partially due to his upbringing, but his experiences with them during school had not improved his impressions of them at all.
"We have enough on our plates with the hunters. We don't need to give the ******** boogeymen a new reason to be crawling all over the damn school looking to shut it all down."
---
The talk of the boogeymen was making Jericho nervous again. They had Riley. He wanted Riley to be back. But he did not want them at the school. Gritting his teeth, he just decided to address a different topic at the moment.
"We.. We think we can trust the Trick or Treaters. Nox has been captured by the Hunters for awhile before. He knew a few things about them."

"I'm going to stop now but I'll let Maladore continue if it wants to point out what 'attacking the student body' is like. You don't treat us like that after nearly avoiding being blown to kingdom come along with a whole race of people." Her arms crossed again and she shifted from side to side, "I'm not doing this now, and I'm not doing it without a plan, or help. As Jericho put it Nox can be trusted, he gave out more information from the start before anyone else ever did. And if anyone knows how to get Riley back a Trick or Treater would be the first person to ask."
She turned towards Shun next and simply held up a single bone finger, her middle one, purple FEAR flickering around it. He knew what he did, and she would repeat the process again if need be should he get in her way.

"Samantha." Shehk's tone was more terse than it had been with most anybody for a while. Frazzled? Oh, if Shehk had actually been infected with insanity, she would have been getting into her slurs and 'ssss'ing and 'we' stuff right about then. She could handle being an emotional tether and a grounding for several individuals, but dammit, she wasn't just going to let the pack run wild.
"If you're going to throw a fit, how about you two take it to the gym later?" She knew why Sammy was throwing what Shehk would call her 'fit', and she knew exactly why her venom was being aimed at Shun. She hadn't mentioned Shun's... part in things to Jericho yet. Shehk actually shot Jericho a look - an anxious and nervous look. The last thing they needed to do was have a fight break out there.
"As it stands, we can't go on making enemies of everything and everybody. When we have a chance to get some insight - even if we may not exactly approve of where it is coming from - I think we need to take a few risks like that. No, the Boogeymen overall have not been found to be very trustworthy.
But I agree that if we can find at least one who is on our side, we will benefit. I still think there are answers that need to be found from the one who was for sure on our side."
And from the look on her face, Shehk knew what she needed to do to find out such things.

Malodore was unconscious, and had to be moved away from Riley. That was the only way they could do it. Again, cruel and unforgivable, but they probably knew that since he was so close to the school, he would reform fine... She wasn't swayed at all. As much as she wanted Riley back, safety of the school, of the students, have to come before personal desires and wants.
"Not as recklessly violent as you put yourself up to be then," She looked at Sammy, glad that she had already spoken to Malodore previously regarding Riley; he was smart. One of the smartest students she ad ever met. He will be cautious. She turned to look at Jericho, "Nox... I've never really spoken to the Trick-or-treaters before, but they seem to work rather independently. If this 'Nox' can be trusted, good... But again, I'll be wary about trusting anyone as a whole. Being a Bogeyman doesn't necessarily make you bad."
She nodded at Shehk, "That's what I'm talking about. The individual is important."

"Matters," the zomboil muttered to Calder about the notes. "E-Every bit matters." When his new brain was still fresh he had recalled scanning the page and memorizing it as best he could before the group had left. Could he still conjure up the important things? Not in this Insanity haze, but afterwards perhaps. Amrita looked as torn up as could be, and Calder looked about as sleepless as he was . . . Mort grimly responded, "Is as best as c-can be for now."
Which was to say not very much at all.
But before he could ask Amrita what she needed help with or how the kelpie was doing in return, the official meeting had begun. He listened intently from his place on the ground and tried to place the whispers behind him, frowning only at the mention of DETH. He hadn't heard of this group before, or rather barely heard of it; he hadn't been able to attend the seminar Professor QB had had. It made Mort a bit hopeful that some humans were more sympathetic to their situation than he originally imagined, though he was sure the number of Hunters outnumbered them easily. He also finally got to hear what it was Trick-or-Treaters did - and imagined Gene among them, wreaking havoc with her shapeshifting and phasing, bringing back sweets for her efforts. He almost, almost managed to smile.
And then the argument broke out. Quelled before it really got bad, but still enough to light the tense atmosphere Mort felt in the room; he was doubly glad to be a bit away and on the floor. His fingers entangled themselves together in his lap nervously as a question came to mind. The Boogeymen were a sensitive topic, but . . . "Hear Boogeymen h-have branches," Mort piped up more than hesitantly when there was a lull in the main conversation. "Have, er, any info on that? C-Could try seeing which Saebel is part of, i-if have other friends could lend hand."
Mot wasn't the only one considering those options.MoonKitsune You're good @ his name XD

Calder was crossing his arms about himself, thinking about his time in the weapon chamber. It hadn't come to the point where he had been twisted, but there had been a comfortable ease. To think that that could have turned into horrible pain scared him, and he was glad to some degree that he hadn't know what was going on at the time.
The conversation was hitting MANY topics he had been thinking about for a long time, especially after leaving the islands. His talk with Lizzy and Israfel were brought up during Lizzy's speech, and he looked up before gesturing to speak.
"The Boogeymen are lying to the student body and the public to suppress this, which means there are a lot of students here that don't know about hunters. Seeds might protect their own, but who is going to protect those who know nothing about Hunters? Isn't there any way to spread the word and give them some sort of ....emergency plan? I know telling them that there are creatures that look just like them might be hard to digest at first, but at least telling them to not walk alone, tell their friends where they are going, and to not trust those in cloaks - that should be at least better than letting them walk around blind out there. We're not going to be on this campus after we graduate. We shouldn't leave the next group vulnerable."

Jericho glanced over at Shehk for the moment. It looked like she had something in mind as far as the boogies went. Though there was no telling just what that was right now. Then, looking towards Calder, he let out a small snarl as he was reminded of something else.
"We've tried to warn some others. There are those who will refuse to believe anything. Maybe it's changed for them but some are blind in this school," he growled lowly. There were a couple individuals he could think of that fell into this category.

"Theey woon't be able to for loong." Amrita piped up at Jericho's growl, shaking her head sadly. "We didn't belieeve in them riight away eiither...theey will come aroound." She hoped, anyway. Sort of. The ghoul lifted a backwards hand to rub her eye with the heel of her palm in frustration.
"We should try again too tell theem...tryy to educaate them. Nobody else wiill...and iif theey are heere, aat the school, they need to know, or---" Or more kidnappings, more deaths, more people ending up like Red and Riley. The Vetala was fidgeting the more she talked, worrying a piece of fabric between her thumb and index finger.
"Aat this raate...we shoould tryy to staay here past graduation." It was almost sarcasm. Almost. At least to her the idea had some merit; Become the Teachers, the Assistants, the Boogeymen; once they graduated the only way to help would be to linger, to be on the inside of the strife so to speak.

Ol-j-man "Hear Boogeymen h-have branches," Mort piped up more than hesitantly when there was a lull in the main conversation. "Have, er, any info on that? C-Could try seeing which Saebel is part of, i-if have other friends could lend hand." "Branches?" She perked up, smiling at the boil, almost thankful that he was speaking despite how tense the atmosphere was; this is good. They're making new connections already, "Thank you! Uh... Mortimer..? Did I get your name right? That might be a good place to start! I'll see what I can find out..." Time to ask around cautiously.MoonKitsune "The Boogeymen are lying to the student body and the public to suppress this, which means there are a lot of students here that don't know about hunters. Seeds might protect their own, but who is going to protect those who know nothing about Hunters? Isn't there any way to spread the word and give them some sort of ....emergency plan? We're not going to be on this campus after we graduate. We shouldn't leave the next group vulnerable." "Jericho and Amrita are right," She sighed, nodding at what they said, "I had approached students to talk to them about hunters before, but they dismissed it... Until they got to see the hunters for themselves. That's why it's important to have connections. A network. People who believe you, educate them. Those who doubt might outweigh those who believe, but... A little at a time. If they don't believe us? Fine. Don't neglect them, continue to be a friend. One day, hopefully not too late, they will believe. Like Amrita said, they will come around."

Only two people in this school, had ever used her full first name quiet like that. The first being Siddie during a dinner between Siddie, Barth, Calder, and herself. This time it was from Shehk. At once the ghoul shift about to glance at her friend eyes dimming just a bit.
Still it only took one look for Sammy and Shehk to know what was being thought. Shehk knew damn well why she had issues with Shun, and she could easily figure out what Shehk was glaring at her for. Instead her gaze fell on Shun just as Shehk mentioned the gym, before moving back to Lizzy.
"When the time comes, I won't hesitate." She left it at that, if the Boogiemen came after the school again, or they finally had a reason to go after them, well it was all she would need. She nodded her head towards Jericho for a moment, "Nox told us about the Hunter named H, not much at all really. But he knows more then we do I'm betting."

Malodore got quite the deer-in-headlights look when Sammy indicated it, and it cleared its throat in an attempt to interject itself into the conversation. "I, ah... what the Boogeymen did was cruel, si," it said, slowly, clearly choosing its words with care. "I wanted only to stay with... with Riley, and I asked them to allow it. I believe I was as... as reasonable as could be expected, under the circumstances. I spoke to them and did not make any threats. They responded with instant, dissipation-level violence rather than words." One hand went to its throat automatically, and its wings rustled with tension. "That is what angers me the most, truth be told - that they immediately acted upon an unarmed, traumatized student with extreme violence rather than responding at the same level at which they were approached. Do not assume reason will mean anything to them!"
It heaved a sigh. "But they are... they are not Hunters. They have not yet committed genocide. Do not trust them unless offered clear evidence of their trustworthiness - but they are powerful. We have been fortunate thus far. I will not... I will not let my own feelings, strong though they may be, endanger the school. If we tempt fate and bring suffering to the innocent students here, how likely are we to win them to the truth? They will see us only as the irrational beings we were painted as when Professor Red died. We must rise above such things, even if it hurts... and I will not have myself, or Riley, used as a tool. By anyone," it added, straightening.

Calder signed as he looked over at Malodore. "What I don't get is that they are on our campus. They KNOW the Hunters are around. Go ahead and hide it from the public, but you'd think they would try and work with us when trying to protect ourselves and this school. If there are a few good Boogeymen, what are they doing to protect us? It's their job, isn't it? If I at least KNEW they were doing something to benefit us, then I wouldn't hate them as much." He rubbed his temples.
"Has anyone talked to the Boogeymen to see if we can negotiate some sort of working truce with them. We don't fan the flames by trying to alert the public, and we work together to try and keep our school safe? There is enough of them around here after all and they are powerful. They could give us an edge."
