"Like it's inherited? Well I sure as hell wasn't a part of any program," Harrison said, looking over Candace's shoulder too. "Least I don't think I was. ...My name's not on there, is it?"
He didn't think he had any kind of pedigree.
The idea that he had been bred out of a science tube or hunter puppy mill and just was...disturbing. Was his mom in on it? He couldn't see her putting up with s**t from anyone in a labcoat.

"Yeah, I'm guessing it's not always inherited, but it's definitely a factor," Jordan said. "This probably isn't the only list of names. If it was a breeding program they'd want to have as many results as possible, so there's likely a lot of kids out there scattered around who might or might not have the ability." He grimaced. "Sounds pretty cold and clinical, but at the same time, as dangerous as it is, having a roster of possible or probable kids to keep an eye on in case they show the necessary traits absolutely makes sense. Having a lead on what you're looking for is better than searching blind."

Jerry had just drifted after the others, his face blank and expression distant. Everyone had it under control. If they needed him, they'd call.
"Collins?" He glanced up, brows furrowed before he realized they were crowded around something, "W-woo-what do you mean? My name's on there? T-twice?" He... didn't know of any siblings.
He didn't even know his Father's name. Come to think of it...
"C-can... can I see that?" He limped his way over stiffly, finally out of his clouds to try to catch a glimpse.
Breeding program? His face paled.

Water damage made sense. Candace wasn't at all bothered as Jordan came up to look over her shoulder. "If it's Jerry it'd say Jeremy then.." She squinted, holding the paper closer. It was too hard to read. Was that really an M? But why were there two? Did..did Jerry have a sibling or something? If this really was Jerry?
Wait. What? Candace turned enough to give Jordan the most 'what the ******** are you talking about' look. "Hold up. Rewind. It's hereditary? I didn't know that." Was her mother banging a hunter?! Or maybe her mother was a..? No, that wouldn't make sense. There was no way her mother could have fear sensitivity she always claimed Candace was a lying drama queen. "I can't see either of my parents being..Bix's last name is Wilkins? Huh..'inand'? What's his first name?" This was personal curiosity now. "Probably printed them from computers. I mean, it says it's early two-thousand so...I mean, I don't recall computers being the amazing things they are now back then." She shrugged a little, not wanting to bop any of her shoulder birds in the face.
When Jerry asked to see the paper she looked up again. "Well, Collins is on here twice. We can just barely make out your name in the second one...here." She held the paper out for Jerry to take, glancing toward Harrison and tilting her head to rest it against his. She reached up to play with Molly's curls as well, getting very comfortable with four people hovering over her. This was nice, the personal closeness, even if there was no meaning behind it. Just having someone close was enough. It'd been forever since she had any physical contact, and the one time she really wanted a hug to comfort her she wasn't getting any.

Rep stood back from what he'd mentally dubbed "the huddle" and listened in. So it was about some kind of hunter pedigrees or whatever. He didn't know who his real father was and likely never would. He didn't know if he ever wanted to, given that he had to have been the kind of individual who slept with .. well crack whores. He didn't think he had much answers to find with a parent like that. Even if the man's name was on there, Rep'd never know anyway.
So he stood back, and frowned.
It was hard to ignore the hope though that it was something, that maybe his father wasn't the scum he imagined but something more noble. s**t like that didn't happen to people like him, this wasn't a magical ******** movie where everything turned out fine.
He settled for glaring daggers at Candace touching Ace.

Jerry took the paper nervously, Most of the chatter drifting in one ear and out the other as he pushed his glasses up his nose and stared.
Two lines. One, the word "Collins" clear as a bell. The other, difficult to discern but... the shape was there. The same as the line above it. And it wouldn't be difficult to imagine those fragments saying "eremy". Then who was the other one? Was it both of them? Maybe there were- But the name Sasha Belrose underneath made him frown.
"I... I never... knew anything about my p-parents... My father-ather-ather, at least..." Why had the family never talked about them? In all those years... there were snippets here and there he had always appreciated, 'you sing like your mother', but he didn't even know his Father's name. He always attributed it to the fall out with his Uncle. Who knew where Dan was now, but... Again no one talked about it.
"Ah... y-yeah I w-woo-would have... would have been... fifteen I think." And his Grandfather had just passed. While he mourned, someone was making a list.
How had they gotten his name. Who had been watching him. If this really was his name...
"C-collins is... is pretty common-ommo-" He pursed his lips, trying again slower, "Collins is a pretty common name..."

"It can be hereditary, at least," Jordan said. "That's part of the reason we're declared dead and can't maintain contact with our families. The Horsemen can and will track down families and kill them to prevent any more Hunters from being born to that family. Although," he paused, "with the Horsemen's power base wiped out - no, it's impossible to say how many may have survived, and they'll be looking for revenge. Anyway."
He looked to Jerry. "Collins is a pretty common name," he agreed, "but I wouldn't think Belrose and Wilkins quite as much so. Odds are good that that's Bix, especially with the Junior. That's also pretty interesting. If he's Junior, and this is a hunter breeding program, who was Senior?"

"It is a common name, but from what I can make out..they were watching people with 'potential'. Which makes sense. They want hunters, not wastes of time and resources..." Her hand free, Candace leaned he weight against Harrison while reaching up to idly toy with Clerise's hair. An odd time for it, but Candace had been craving physical contact for ages now. She <******** needed it or she'd go insane. She wanted to be held, but this would do for now. "Maybe Killzone is my true father~." She joked, grinning. She knew Killzone wasn't her father, but he was the only black hunter she knew who was a hunter and not a trainee. But Jerry didn't know his father? That was weird...
"I'd imagine whoever has the same name as him, which was why I asked Molly." Candace mused. Did Bix know? Or Sasha? Or any of these people aside from Jerry?
Jordan made a good point. She had never thought anything of being considered dead, really. Candace figured it was just...something they did. They had no time for anyone so it was safer to just pretend they were dead.
"What should we do with it, though? I doubt H or Caelius want it by now." Though she couldn't help but wonder if she was on any lists like this. She wanted to be..she wanted to have been chosen because she was literally born for this. Oh well. She'd probably never know. She felt eyes on her and raised a brow, glancing Rep's way. What? Why was he glaring at her now?

Rep just looked a little more irritable as Candace looked over at him. He wondered if there was sign language for hands off b***h.
He was still listening to the discussion though, albeit with an edge of bitterness, bred like pedigree dogs. Did that make the outside lines mutts? It raised a lot of questions of inequality in his mind. Were the people on these lists somehow bearers of more potential than your average hunter?
He needed to stop dwelling on it.
"I'd say ******** bin it, we have enough problems as it is without stumbling on eugenics projects."

"I... I'll hold onto it.. if.. if no one else w-wants it," Jerry offered meekly, his face flushing.
He had to show Sasha at least, "W-we... we sh-should show it to whoever has their name on it. They have a right to know too."

Oh? He was angry? Why? She wasn't doing anything! Candace pouted her lips and looked to one side. Jordan on one shoulder..and Harrison on the other, and she was basically cuddling up to Harrison. It dawned on her then and she made a quiet 'ohhhh' to herself before smiling and leaning more heavily against her friend. Silly boy, she had no interest in Harrison other than the purest platonic love. The one man she had never and would never try to make a move on. "I don't see a problem with that, Jerry. Your name's on it, none of ours are...you have more right to it than any of us." She looked around for any kind of objection.

Harrison put an arm around Candace and patted the top of her arm. He knew she'd been stressed out.
"Bin's probably the better option. But sure, give it to Jerry. He's the only one here with his name on it. I mean it doesn't say TOP SECRET or anything."

Before Candace passed the paper over to Jerry, Molly had ended up taking a picture of it with her phone while it was still in her hands. There was no way she’d remember all this stuff unless she recorded it somehow…and nothing was better than an exact copy more or less. Satisfied that she’d remember now, she pocketed her phone and paused as Candace played with her curls.
“…Uh…” Bix wouldn’t get mad if she told, would he? It seemed like it’d be important to let them now. She looked over at Candace, smiling a bit nervously. “His first name is Ferdinand…” Which did match the last few letters on that list…oh my. Molly cupped her cheek, falling silent as she listened to the others speculate.

"I don't have a problem with that," Jordan agreed. He should probably drop the line of inquiry altogether, but it had piqued his curiosity. "Let me know if you find anything else out, would you?"
Rep was getting snarly and tense; paranoia about the fog, maybe. "There might be a few more things needing blunt force problem solving," Jordan said. "Or in your case, sharp edge problem solving." He left the paper in Jerry's hands and moved over to rest a hand on Rep's shoulder, giving him a quick, sweet smile while the rest of the group couldn't see it. "Give me a hand doing a quick once-over of the area?"
