Clerise tucked the device into a pocket, giving Sherry a big, dumb grin. She looked ecstatic. "Thanks!"
A tap on the shoulder startled Clerise, and upon turning around, her smile only got wider. Obviously, she was over whatever it was that had bothered her, and she was still pleasantly out of it.
She picked Reine up for a tight hug, spinning her for a moment. "Hi there, Starshine~"
Taking a moment to inspect the smaller girl, Clerise clucked her tongue like a Romany mother, fingers already poking and prodding at Reine's hair. "I don't like it short," she said with a sniff, pursing her lips at the thought of Caelius.
That reminded her, though: Her own hair was still down. She groped around in a pocket for a rubber band, working on spinning her buns back into place. "Not even remotely ready. I saw H get snatched up by a kraken, I can only hope an equally miserable fate happens for Caelius~"
Clerise was NOT thinking of Julie.
She refused.

"I---" with a sort of strangled meep! sound, Reine wrapped her arms around Clerise, more holding on for dear life than actually returning the hug. She did appreciate the gesture, though, nuzzling into the crook of Clerise's neck. When the other trainee finally let her go, Reine wheezed a little, trying to catch her breath- and then Clerise was poking at her hair.
"I'm not used to it short either," she admitted, running a hand through her hair. "I've never--" she paused, watching Clerise with some fascination as the other girl did her own hair. The most Reine could do was ponytails, multiplied by two.
"We'll be fine, though?" She knew she couldn't afford to be irresponsibly optimistic- the death toll so far had been more than horrifying, and the trainees were at just as much risk. Silently she held Clerise's hand, squeezing it reassuringly. They had each other, whatever that counted for.
"I kinda like him, though." It was less of a confession and more of just a statement. To be honest, at this point, she didn't want anyone else to die, however little she liked them...

YET AGAIN, ANOTHER DRASTIC TEMPERATURE CHANGE. from the freezing cold, to dry humid air. Deus knew how to give someone pneumonia. The shivers quickly ceased and leon found himself swatting at the air to drive away the bugs. "Really, are we saving the rainforest?" But then his green eyes caught sight of Cael during the rush of people passing by. "oh so we are killing the rainforest, gotcha." he idly grabbed a barrier dagger and left it in his pack, which was serving as a makeshift loincloth. Quote: Leon's pack:-: Standard barrier dagger -

She gave Reine a skeptical glance as she finished shaping her buns, poking at them and wishing she had a mirror.
"It feels like we skate by on luck," is all she offers in reply, but squeezed the hand laced in hers, the thought comforting.
"Oh, I uh, got some badass daggers thanks to miss lady." She pulled the pair out, as well as the other dagger she had plucked from the stack.
Clerise pulled away long enough to smile at Reine, head cocked. "Wanna see a trick?"
Without waiting for an answer, the acrobat showed her illustrious past by juggling the daggers-- and successfully so.
After she was done showing off and was tucking them away, Clerise had to nod. "I just want to get it all over with, whatever it is. I'm kind of glad we didn't dally. I can't stand waiting."

"I hope luck's enough," she laughed dryly. Personally, she would really rather rely on skill- as Caelius seemed to- than luck, but it would take a lot more years, she supposed, to get there, and in the meantime, maybe all they did have was luck keeping them alive.
"Dagg--" Slightly alarmed, Reine moved back a little when Clerise started juggling, speaking of luck, what was the percentage probability that Clerise would slip and one of the daggers would come flying straight into her face..
There was an audible sigh of relief when that didn't happen, and Reine raised her hands to clap a little, impressed by the feat.
"Me too." She bit her lip, looking towards the outside of the tent. "Wonder what we're going to be doing here.. I guess they'll tell us soon enough."

Rep spent most of his time with one eye on Caelius. He didn't trust the man at all and remembered far far too vividly the sound of his scythe slicing through the air way too ******** close to him. They'd been mere cannon fodder and bait last time, he had to wonder if that was the plan all over again. He hated being anxious, it wasn't manly at all, but it seemed that it was impossible to avoid it as a hunter. Maybe one day he'd be able to face missions like this and feel prepared for them. But right now he felt weak and pathetic, and could only ******** hope he'd make it back out of this ******** jungle.
He was just taking off his jacket and loosening up his scarf when he noticed a flurry of glowing daggers as Clerise juggled the things. Crazy but ******** impressive he had to admit.

Feng was thankful for the warm, thick air. He'd been freezing back in the last base, so though this air was a little oppressive, anything was better than ice or killer whales right now. And now that he was patched up, he was feeling a lot better. Not good enough to get near Caelus, though. Nope. He gave that man a big wide berth. There was no way he wanted to be on the receiving end of all that negativity.
So instead of being a bother he tried to do what he was told to. He went to the supplied and dug around until he found something he thought could be useful. A communications device. That could be useful. They'd gotten a bit split up last time, so he'd like to be able to communicate with others.

Sasha still wasn't completely, entirely with it at this point, though the heat helped. She would take being utterly hot and sweaty over freezing cold any day. It also helped that there were things to do. She busied her hands and her mind by sorting through the various supplies, finally picking up a barrier dagger completely at random.
Humming softly under her breath, Sasha went back to picking through the supplies. She wasn't really looking for anything in particular, but maybe there was a runic brush that she could use to untangle her hair.

After a little more rifling around, and at Nona's encouragement, Sasha picked up and tucked away a charge packet. She started a low hum under her breath as she removed her scarf, rolling it up so that it could be stuffed into her pocket. Now there was nothing left to do but wait. Sasha's Supplies >> Fear charge packet: a small device that when used on your weapon, automatically gives it a Fear charge instead of having to charge the weapon. Can only be used once, counts as one of your charged attacks. >> Standard barrier dagger: roll 2d20 to defend you and TWO OTHER TARGETS FOR THAT VALUE for a turn. One time use. >> Bandages from Allan>> A sad

Oh. It was Caelius. Apart from the Death Division Leader's words, Before had gone into auto-filter mode. Only Caelius' instructions reached him, all other signs of contempt and disgust were ignored or relegated to the IDGAF section of the Misty's brain. Time to prepare and resupply, huh? The Misty reached and managed to get himself a communications device. Huh. Hopefully, this would come in handy.

Another attempt at resupplying has him grabbing a Fear packet. "Wonder if anyone ever mistook one of these for those ketchup or mustard packets?" he murmured half-jokingly to himself before pocketing the supplies. Crap, if they need these communication devices, how was he supposed to find Tori or Bix?

He pulled out a fear scanner as well, just for good measure. There had been a lot of fights going on previously, and since this was still a mission he had no doubts there would be more. A scanner could certainly come in handy in that case.
With his supplies all figured out, he packed them up and ambled out of the tent, trying to stay out of the way. Not that he really had anything to do now. Thirty minutes.Fengs Pack - Fear Scanner - Communication Device

Quote: Rolling a 6: Modified pendant: can warp you and EVERYONE ELSE WITHIN 5 METERS OF YOUR VICINITY to a designated area. Designated areas later will be revealed. You can do this as many times as you like, but should not warp in the middle of battle. Ami cringed a little as the death division leader glared at them like they were failures. Well... technically they were, but it didn't make the look feel even nicer. She'd never met this division leader and already she was having quite the bad impression. Still, it was better than what she'd heard about H, so she was going to let it go for now.
Like everyone else, she ambled over to the supply tent to seek her fortune in supplies. She had her eyes on a set of daggers, but someone swiped them before she could do anything about it.
Cursing lightly, she went for a pendant-shaped object and shoved it in her pocket. She still wasn't quite sure how all this hunter gear worked, but a basic warp pendant was easy enough.

You can do this as many times as you like, but should not warp in the middle of battle. Rolling a 3: Modified Fear scanner, can trace a Fear-based opponent's Fear attack before they attack, increasing a Hunter's dodge rate. For the next turn, your Hunter has no MISS value, that means you do not need to subtract -6 from your Hunter's attack. One time use. Ami just could not find a set of daggers as she rummaged through the supplies pile. It seemed as thought everyone had snatched them up, leaving her with none.
She couldn't really blame anyone- the daggers were useful in the middle of a battle. There was a reason she wanted them after all.
Sighing, she turned back to the table and looked at her options. There was a communications device- no thanks. Ami disliked talking to people as it was- she wasn't going to go out of her way to do it in the middle of a battle.
Before she could even make a proper decision, the only thing left in front of her was a FEAR scanner. She could've scoured the table for more things, but it just wasn't worth the effort. With a sigh, she picked it up and tucked it in her pocket.
Her eyes caught Wilson and she looked down, immediately busying herself with the table. Wasn't this mahogany work just wonderful. Oh yes, it was clearly the most fascinating thing in this camp. The only other person next to her ... was Feng. She really didn't want to talk to him. Really.
She had to know if he was doing better though. After all, if he was banged up, she would blame it on her shitty carrying back to camp. It'd be her fault. "Are you holding up okay?" she said quietly, not even bothering to look at his pathetic form.
