The mist stopped near the doorway, keeping the two from being detected from inside the classroom. Nikolai looked at the door with a determined expression on his face. Inside that room was a possible criminal. He wanted to believe that, but still found himself doubting that an old friend of Leon's would do such a thing. Pushing the thoughts away, Nikolai looked at Kiyaka. "Do you want to wait here for a while, dearie, or will you be accompanying me?" he asked.

The Sin nodded and looked back at the door. Moment of truth. Taking a deep breath, Nikolai stepped into the room just as the bell rang. A few students were already in the process of leaving, so they didn't pay him much attention. Even Arthur was too busy getting his stuff together to notice the slim man approaching him.
He had just put his books into his backpack when he spotted something in front of his desk. When he looked over to see who it was, his eyes widened a fraction. "Mr. Byko," he said then paused to keep his voice level. "What... What are you here for?" What was he here for, indeed. Nikolai should be in jail right now! Why was he here, out in the open?!
Nikolai pursed his lips when he caught Arthur's reaction. Now why did he turn pale? "Hello, dearie. Sorry for the sudden intrusion. I was just wondering if you happened to visit the principal lately."
"The principal?" Arthur raise an eyebrow, feigning distant curiosity. "No. Why?"
"Is that so?" the Sin murmured, clearly unconvinced. "It turns out that she got very hurt, poor thing." he explained while observing his lime green nails.
"Hurt?" Arthur blinked. "What happened?"

At the sight of Kiyaka, Arthur couldn't hide the shock that swept past his eyes, if even for a second. And a second was all Nikolai needed. "A shifter? Like a shape-shifter?" Arthur asked in a steady tone, his serious expression returning quickly, though his eyes looked away from Nikolai. "How should I know? I'm only a human."
"Under probation." Nikolai corrected.
"Excuse me?"
"You're a presumed human, darling. According to our records, you're under probation to see if you've any skill. Specifically-" He leaned in and narrowed his lime green eyes. "-shape-shifting."
Arthur leaned back the more Nikolai leaned in. He felt cornered like a rat! What was even worse was that his plan was ruined! Kiyaka was fine, and Nikolai was standing right there! But wait... That's it! "Wait a minute, how can you be stabbed? You seem perfectly fine." Arthur sobered up and looked at Kiyaka's stomach. "And why does Mr. Byko have anything to do with this?" That's right. He could use this card to worm his way out of this corner, then he could make a new plan. This time he'd be sure to kill that stupid woman!
But Nikolai was ever-too keen. With a knowing grin, he said in a low tone, "I don't recall saying where Kiyaka dear was stabbed. Why then, dearie, did you stare at her stomach?" he asked, making the student pale and stop any train of logic. The Sin turned his head to look at Kiyaka. "What of you, darling? Did you happen to tell him where you were hurt?"

Arthur stared at the two with wide eyes. Gritting his teeth, he lowered his head so that his hair could cover his angered eyes. "You knew all along, didn't you?" he muttered under his breath. "... How did you find out so quickly?" By that time Nikolai was busying shooing away the creative writing teacher.

Arthur growled at the two. Nikolai expected to see him reject this even more, but he did something completely unexpected. He smiled. The growl directed at the two transformed into a chuckle, then a low laugh. "Isn't it obvious?" Arthur snickered. He tilted his head back and smiled brightly at the two, insanity sparkling in his eyes. "It's because of Leon!"
Nikolai took a step back, both because of the unsettling air around the boy and because of his words. "Leon? But I thought you were close friends with him?"
"Exactly." Arthur seethed. "He saved me long ago. He was the only one that showed my any kindness. I never forgot him. I love him!" he spouted with hatred in his eyes before his smile returned. "Imagine... As soon as I got the money to come here, I see him f-cking a slut like you...!" He put a hand over his eyes and laughed again. "All my time! All the hard work I put in just to see him. Wasted!"

"Oh, so you two aren't as dumb as I thought." Arthur sneered. "That's right. I waited my entire high school life just for this moment. I studied your movements and how you spoke so I could take your form." he growled at Nikolai then shifted his glare to Kiyaka. "But you just had to stay alive, didn't you? Well I'll be sure to-"
Before he could finish speaking he found himself forced to face the wall to his left. He blinked in surprise, and in that time a red blob of a bruise began to form on his cheek. Nikolai shook off the light throb on his knuckles then reached out and gripped Arthur by the collar of his shirt. "I'm used to jealous people, but you are really something else. Do you realize what you've done, dearie? Because of you, Leon's the one in jail!" he seethed.
Arthur's eyes widened for a second but quickly returned to their malicious gaze. "I don't get it! Why would he throw his life away just to protect a whore like you?!" he spat.

Arthur went still when he heard Kiyaka. His eyes flickered to the ring on Nikolai's finger, but he said nothing. He was speechless, dumbfounded. Did Leon love him that much? The kind, strong man he met so long ago was under this bimbo's spell?
"Tch, aww, dearie, you ruined the surprise." Nikolai frowned at Kiyaka. He knew Leon was planning something like that, but now there was no excitement since he knew what to expect. The Sin was about to talk more to the principal when something shook in his hands. Nikolai tensed up at the same time due to a strong presence he felt, and when he turned to look at Arthur, he was shifting into a ravenous beast.
"I won't accept it!" Arthur roared, his voice becoming rough and vicious from his forming snout. He looked like how the the cliche person on TV transformed into a werewolf. His eyes shined to pure red, a light brown fur started to cover his growing body, and his clothes tore with bulging muscles. "If Leon loves you so much then I'll kill you myself!!" the creature snarled. Before Nikolai could react with his purple fog, the beast-like creature attacked. With one large, clawed hand he grabbed both of Nikolai's wrists and yanked him up into the air, now about two feet taller than the two faculty members. Arthur snarled viciously the Sin, ears flattened against his head. Nikolai grit his teeth as Arthur crushed his wrists. A hissed yelp slid out of his mouth when he heard a crack of a bone. He couldn't lose now! Not when the man holding Leon's freedom was right in front of him! But what could he do in this state?
Sloth! I need your help! he implored mentally while glaring at the beast that snorted condescendingly at him.
Mmm, I would, dearie - Honest I would - but I'm too tired... Sloth yawned, making Nikolai growl through grit teeth.
Dammit, this isn't the time to act cute! If I die, you get a new body, and I'd love to see you as a butterfly again, darling!
There was a long pause. Finally, Sloth conceded and gave in to Nikolai's demands. Arthur's ears perked when he noticed the change. He sniffed the air and looked down to see purple mist coiling around Nikolai's legs. The mist thickened then piled up behind the bound Russian, clumping together until it took the form of a giant purple king cobra. Ears flattening and a guttural growl escaping sharpened teeth, the beast swung Nikolai to keep the snake away.
Nikolai hit the wall hard. He gagged as the air was forced out of his lungs, and when he tried to pick himself off the ground he was met with the pain of broken wrists. A wince spread across his face, but he didn't let it get to him; he forced himself up just as the grinning cobra's mist numbed his pain.
"Come now, dearie. Be a good dog and surrender. I'd hate to tell Leon that you fell into an oh-so terrible coma." Nikolai told Arthur. The beast bared his fangs at him and roared out defiantly, making the Sin sigh. "Very well. I don't prefer fighting, but someone has to keep you in place." he said. For a second his eyes shined bright green in unison with the grinning cobra's own green eyes. The snake let out a hiss/roar behind the Sin and bared its own large fangs at the beast.
Sinful snake against traitorous beast, both sides wanting only one thing, or more person: Leon. Arthur crouched down to pull power from his hind legs. With another roar bellowed he flew into the air and stretched his arms out so his claws could dig into Nikolai. The Sin merely gave him a half-asleep look as the snake coiled around him and shot towards the flying wolf when-
BANG!!!
Nikolai blinked in surprise as the monster fell to the ground with a thud. That... wasn't him. Who-
"There's no need for useless showboating." a deep voice muttered from the doorway. The Russian turned around to see the detective from earlier, he still looked as angry as ever and was currently focused on reloading his pistol. "Honestly, you two would have destroyed the entire school with your dramatic battle." he drawled and tossed all three people a glare.

"Shut up." Fredrich snapped at Kiyaka before looking back to the shape-shifter. "Get up. I shot you in the arm, you'll live." his voice boomed.
Back to his natural self, Arthur sat up while clutching his bleeding arm. He trembled with both pain and rage and gave the detective a hateful glare almost as strong as the ones he gave Nikolai.
But Fredrich didn't care, he was used to seeing such looks from criminals. He strode over to the shifter and yanked him to his feet then turned him around and put the handcuffs on him. "Let's go." he said and shoved the boy roughly to get him to walk. Gritting his teeth angrily, Arthur gave Nikolai one last glare before being force to walk with another shove.
As the two made their way out, the purple snake let out a gleeful hiss as it faded out of existence. "My, that was certainly anti-climactic." Nikolai murmured while lazily folding his arms behind his head.
