He glanced up to the girl, brows furrowed and lips pursed. Sasha was friends with Candace. He didn't want to... paint too bad a picture. He didn't want to cause any more drama. They were... sort of on the mends. Somewhat. Kind of. Almost.
His stomach twisted again, as the story untangled itself in his head. He shifted, fidgeting with a crayon to try to peal the paper back to sharpen it. "She... broke my heart." He managed simply. "And... the fact I... I don't think she meant to... makes it even worse."

Sasha's expression softened.
"I.. I wasn't, you know. Eavesdropping. It's just. Umm." She waved a hand, looking a little foolish.
"I heard. Um." Sasha flushed, cleared her throat, shifted her legs. "I think you're very brave," she whispered, scooting closer to wrap an arm around his shoulders. "And .. people make mistakes." She squeezed him closer for a short moment before rubbing his back.
"You just.. I don't know." She looked helpless, way out of her league. "I think everything will.. will turn out the way it's supposed to be, maybe. You just need to find what makes you happy, right? And just," she patted his back, "hold on to it, I guess. Music, painting.. whatever makes you smile."

"B-brave?" He almost laughed, but was his voice was cut off by a blush as her arms wrapped around him. His heart was in his throat, his eyes locked on her face in disbelieve, dipping down to her lips. What made him happy. "M-music... music, right," He glanced away again, swallowing thickly as he fumbled with the crayon between his hands. "It's... it's good I'm... I'm finally trying to get this together. And it's a lot more fun with help," His mouth twisted into a nervous smile. "I... I'm not much of an artist though, ahahaha..."
He'd never make the same mistakes again, that was for sure.

"Music is art," Sasha chirped softly, resting her head on his shoulder as she hugged him one final time. She pulled away though remained seated close, reaching for the flyer she'd just about finished before Candace left.
"And you are a music man, aren't you?" She grinned, trailing her fingers over the array of crayons that were splayed across the floor.
"If getting this music club... if putting all this together makes you happy, Jerry," Sasha flashed him a bright smile, "I just.. well. I'm here for you, okay?"

"I've been... rather short on reliable friends lately," He smiled awkwardly, breathing quicker as he cleared his throat to try to keep his voice calm. "It's... it's nice having someone who's... um." He shifted again, unsure of how to finish that sentence. "S-so.... simple. Not that you're SIMPLE I mean I don't mean that at all I mean uncomplicated like... like... you... you understand um. And um. Aaaah..." He turned away, pretending to rummage for the right color crayon on the floor.

Sasha looked confused for a split second as she watched Jerry. At least he'd smiled again, that was good - even if he seemed a little ... nervous? Why was he nervous?
"I.. thank you?" She smiled slightly, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear as she tilted her head to the side. "I just.. why um. Why make things... I don't know, why make things all.. messy. Life.. life is so short," she mumbled wistfully, scrawling a large heart on the paper before her.
"When you get your guitar back, Jerry, you'll find .. you'll find that piece of you that's gone missing." Just like when she got her flute back. Someday. Her chest ached. "I just know it." Another huge smile was beamed in his direction before she turned her attention back to the flyer she was working on.

"And... and I'll look into the flute," He smiled down at the papers, feeling a bit more oomf as he wrote out the headers on the newest one, "Then we can properly jam, huh?" Just relax. Just relax. It was too soon to be thinking like this. Alright, it had been over a month but. Candace was still hot on his heels. He just needed... he didn't know. Right then, he needed the kind smile and support Sasha offered and the healing monotony of flier production. "Thank you, Sasha. You're... you're a... a fantastic lady." Even so, the flush returned, making his scars stand out like candy stripes.

"Oh, Jerry," Sasha laughed softly. "We can.. we can jam. You with your guitar, and me with my flute." She peered over at him. "I can hardly wait." Sasha fell silent. She couldn't expect him to find her flute for her, but just to play again... it was a wonderful thought. She didn't want to get her hopes up too high.
When Jerry thanked her, Sasha blushed slightly before she reached over to deliver a gentle pat against his scarred cheek. Bold? Perhaps, but she was just glad to see him smiling again. It was an innocent gesture, one filled with a fondness for the man she'd spent the better part of the day coloring with.
"You're a good friend, Jerry," she whispered softly, earnestly. "Just.. keep your chin up, right? I'm always here for you, you know.. if you.. if you need to talk."

His breath hitched in his throat, shivers going down his spine as he felt her cool fingers on the knotted side of his face. His liver decided to become better acquainted with his kidneys.
"Th-thank you." He breathed out, glancing away quickly, "Really. Um. Ahaha. Um. Right! How many have we made?" He glanced around, counting even the one Candace had made. "Only maybe another two dozen to go?"
Candace. He sighed, brows furrowed. He'd... he'd figure out what to do. Just one step at a time.

"You're welcome, Jerry," Sasha grinned at him, scooting away a bit so that she could get back to work on the flyer she'd abandoned. Finishing it with a flourish she added it to the pile before reaching for another piece of paper.
"You should keep them in your dorm," she scrawled out ~Band is Fun~ in decorative script, adding a few music notes and hearts for good measure. She finished four more flyers in rapid succession, simply adding them to the pile.
"When you figure out a date, I'll help you finish them and hang them," Sasha added brightly, drawing a few happy faces on the corners of her current flyer.

Sasha's only response was an awkward giggle and a sideways glance in Jerry's direction before she got back to work on her flyers. It didn't take them long to finish the task at hand.
It had been a strangely productive day when everything was said and done.
