Sasha gave a mortified little noise at the thought of a messy decapitation. It sounded horrifying. She cleared her throat, hand still fanning her face jerkily, like a nervous little butterfly. When Clerise finished, Sasha patted the braid with her other hand before beaming brightly at the other woman.
"That really is much better," she grinned, "I just wish that I would stop sweating! It's like. Ugh. All between my ... Oh!" Her attention was abruptly commanded by Sandy.
"I guess we better get our supplies, hmm?" Sasha sounded entirely too excited about going spelunking in the cave. Reaching for Clerise's hand, she tugged the other woman forward. "Come on!"

They were going into the dark? Well, she was sure there would be some people who would have a small panic about such things. Cass half-leeched to Marcus's side, shooting the moon trainee a smile as she watched the small demo of stuff being given.
Oooooooohhhhh, that was pretty nice, actually. Semi informative, and no Caelius on the back of giant cockroaches to be had yet.

This whole behaving thing was pretty boring Rep was finding, sitting on insults rather than doling them out right left and center. But the mental image of Simon looming in his head was pretty hard to ignore, he really liked going to sleep and waking up alive, it was a fantastic habit and one he wanted to continue. Besides, the conversations he was overhearing here and there.. a lot of them were seriously about ******** hair. Was this a salon mission? Was he going to finally get some ******** blonde dye? Women. He couldn't be bothered.
He noted Jordan's arrival, but resisted the urge to go be a pain in the arse at him for a change, a choice that proved a good one as he was quickly swept up into the chaos that was surrounding the big guy. They seemed like they knew him.
When Sandy spoke up, he decided he very much approved of the Death hunter. Shirts. Always shirts. And she had good reason for it aswell.
He tried very hard to file away the items in his head as she rhymed them off, not so good at actually remembering things, but about to give it a damn good shot. Flashlight, he wasn't a fan of the dark, fear scanner, that made sense. That one looked important. And the ******** necklaces, if only they'd picked a more masculine design for them. Maybe a sun, or a male symbol or something. But he'd live.
And flares. Now /those/ looked fun. EXPLOSIONS. He'd have to fight the itch.
He wandered over to the table and gathered up his stuff, putting on the fancy wristwatch..err..fear scanner right. And pocketing the other things away. Reluctantly he put on the necklace.
He gave Sandy a curious look. "How..err.. small is this ******** cave?" He wasn't keen on the idea of being in any sort of tight opressive space. In the dark. With only a flashlight for company.
That didn't ease his mind much though.

This was a military kind of organization, so Harrison was used to seeing muscles. He was not used to seeing muscles assembled rectangularly, juggling explosive boxes.
He took a small step closer to the portal, just in case.
Sandy's inventorying made one thing clear. No auto-exits. Great.
Flashlights and flareguns he could handle, but the scanner looked kind of complicated. Once it was apparent the boxerobics were over, he picked up an equipment set, stashing the gun in his sash around his waist.
The whole gang was here. An all-trainee invite meant trouble. And it was going to be trouble in a hole in the middle of a jungle with only one way out.

Rolling his eyes at Sandy's needless worries, Barney waved her off, "Yeah, yeah, I gotcha, Dee. Just don't send Julie after me, that woman is unreasonably strong when she is near kitchen appliances. Have you ever seen her make ********' toast? That s**t's scary," he kept talking, even as she lectured the newbies on safety and s**t like that. "I don't even eat toast now, gives me indigestion just thinking of the blood that had been shed in the name of a balanced ******** breakfast." He pulled out a flare gun and inspected it, "Nice. Anyway-" he made a broad gesture and suddenly a flare shot up into the sky and burst above them.
Staring at the gun in his hand he glanced up at the rest of those gathered and cleared his throat, waving at the Death hunter he called out, "All in working order, Sandy!" Totally meant to do that. And where was his phone, he needed to look into the soothing, soulful gaze of Mr. Mittens before going to face all this adventure s**t.

Robert DID NOT LIKE SO MANY PEOPLE TELLING HIM TO PUT HIS SHIRT ON. It went against reason. Even if it was reasonable. He pouted as the malaria comment was made, and once the talk was over, Robert (who hadn't let Maddie go, I regret nothing), hefted Madison even higher.
"Nah, nah, I'll just use Maddie as my protection from Malaria. Check it out." He lifted her up over his head, and wrapped the poor girl around his shoulders like a stole. "See? MALARIA PROOF."
Even the boss was getting in on it. He gave Jordan a sullen look, before a glimmer of terrible mischief gleamed in his eyes, and he puffed up ******** that, boss. You just don't wanna admit you're enjoying the view."

It was time for the adventure to start! Ofelia was flipping out with joy, practically jumping up and down (she was jumping up and down literally too) and skipped all the way over towards the equipment table. She grabbed what she was told to grab and slapped the bracelet on, grinning ear to ear.
Doing things old fashioned? <******** yeah
Chances of getting lost out there? Double ******** yeah
Ofelia was giggling with joy and excitement over the chance to get exploring, the heat hardly affecting her at all. She was used to the swampy feeling, the proof of it being that while she was sweating she didn't even look remotely flushed, and she turned to glance at everyone else. Spotting Jordan she gave a massive wave, her face nearly breaking in half from how wide her mouth was open in a smile.

Sandy gave Rep a strange look at the question. "Didn't you get the pre-mission summary from......" she suddenly trailed off ".... Caelius."
That would explain it. The Death Hunter talked as she checked each flare gun for signs of defect, one could never be too careful. "I don't know how much clearance to this information you have as Trainees, but we are heading into a Lair of the Four Clans, that is the four horsemen, for some of you more familiar with their casual term. Lairs are built.. large, usually to house something, information, priceless artifacts, p-" she faltered for a second, -"Prisoners. Be prepared to spend a long time in the dark. And be careful of the-"
BANG
The Death Hunter literally jumped a foot, looking like she was ready to pass out from a heart attack any second, if she wasn't going to strangle Barney then and there.

"Dude, seriously, seriously, put me down," Madison said, some of the playfulness leaving her voice. Sometimes Robert could be severely embarrassing. At least she was wearing proper leggings today and not a skirt, but sheesh!

"Pre mission..." he mimiced her, trailing off much the same way, though in his case down to a complete lack of an idea what she meant.
As she clarified, his baffled look didn't seem to go away. The only time he'd heard of the four horsemen was like in the ******** bible. Surely this wasn't the same thing? Still..it sounded pretty ******** dangerous, and the mention of prisoners made his blood run a little colder. Dark, cramped dangerous and with a good chance of running into people they'd be obligated to help probably. He ******** hated charity. If he was on his own, they'd stay there.
Still he could practically see the creeping darkness already.
He almost leapt out of his own skin as the flare went off, yelping out loud, looking around hurriedly, heart hammering. He only relaxed when he spotted Barney looking like he'd totally meant to do it and scowling coldly, rearranging his clothing in an attempt to salvage his pride.
"Great. Thanks for the heads up. Would have been great going in there blind." He wasn't sure if he'd have preferred to.

..... They were going into wherenow?
Cass had a flash of horror come over her expression as she seemed to recall a certain incident with the haunted house, lips tight as her arms wrapped around her ribs in recollection of this face. While the Lambs might not have been familiar with the incident, Cass remembered it. She remembered those individuals.
Those meetings.
They sent a cold shiver up her spine.

Barney grinned and gave Rep a thumbs up, "No prob, bro. I'm like a ******** boy scout when it comes to these things, always ******** prepared for anything, you know? Too bad we don't got no Girl Scout's around here, could use some ********' cookies right about now." He looked around for a moment, as if a Girl Scout might have somehow remained undetected and was even now hiding in the bushes, cookies in hand. "Anyway, you can treat me to a drink after this is all done for services ******** rendered, amirite?"

Rep raised a brow at Barney, he'd never actually tried girl scout cookies at all, but he'd heard tales and to someone with a sweet tooth, every cookie untried was a rich and vibrant mystery. He even followed the man's gaze around to see if there was indeed some hidden band of girl scouts nearby before returning his very bemused gaze to the other hunter. "Eh. They won't let me ******** drink for whatever reason man." he lamented, truly a troubled soul. "And I don't buy drinks for guys and s**t, no homo." he held up his hands. "But I'd buy you a round at a pub for that display. Not blowing us all to bits, good ******** show man."
He wasn't even being sarcastic.

"Lair," Harrison repeated. "Of one of those magic death horse things. The ones that can crush you with their mind."
Didn't they pretty much almost die every time they ran into those. And now they were just going to walk into their house.
There was nothing about this plan that Harrison liked.
