Ieyasu

Shortly after emerging from her jar, Sashen'ka began to take stock of herself properly. After first spreading her wings, she then moved her striped tail from side to side before gathering her feet underneath her. It took a couple of false starts, but the newly born gryphon managed to sway to her feet and take a first shaky step. It might all have been new to her, but the tiger gryphon was already determined to manage this.

As Sasha began to move about, Ieyasu had reached the spot where her jar had broken. He cleared the shards of glass out of her (and the other people's) way as best he could. It wouldn't do for the gryphon to cut herself as soon as she emerged.

As Ieyasu approached her, Sasha stopped and tilted her head towards him. This was all very new to her. Wobbling the few paces over to him, she butted his leg with her head gently, giving a high pitched mew.

Grinning as the gryphon bumped into him, Ieyasu reached down to pet the little Aerandir. Just as he was doing so, Osu, Zanzibar, Nehanda, Sanar and Makai approached.

Ecstatic over the fact that Sash'ka had now come out, Osu plopped to his knees near her, just like Sanar. "Hiya, Sash'ka! It's so cool you're here. Now we can play an' stuff!" He beamed, his bushy tail flicking furiously from side to side.

Turning to take in all these new things, Sasha gave a series of high-pitched chirps again, her blue eyes staring at all the Aerandir around. Stretching her neck over to Osu and Makai, she tilted her head again before giving a curious chirp. Then she turned to face Zanzibar, who was the only being next to her that was smaller than her. Taking a few steps (she was getting better at this moving about thing), she reached her head over to Zanzibar, her beak almost touching his. There were so many things to see and investigate here!

Zanzibar sat patiently for the new gryphon. His tail curled around his body and leaned in to give Sasha a friendly peck against her larger beak. But he couldn't stay still for long and he was soon darting between Aerandir, his long striped tail brisking behind him. He was enjoying himself too much now, not caring if he was the center of attention anymore. Blindly leaping, he couldn't stop himself from running right into his guardian's foot.

Fae smiled at Wyvern and nodded in response. Upon the sudden bump, she looked down and captured Zanzibar. She held the wiggle worm in her hands and smirked. "We're not causing trouble are we now?" She eskimo-kissed the restless gryphon and placed him down with a sigh. "Perhaps I should get these two home now. It's been a long day for Pueblo, and Zanzibar doesn't realize yet that we live indoors," she said while looking to Foenix, then at Zanzibar who was absantly staring at a tree. Okay... that was strange.

Pueblo knelt on her knees and stroked Sasha's back. "Ooh! Gryphons are always soo soft when dey first c'mout," she smiled childishly as if an invisable hand was tickling her neck. She watched Osu's new sister for a moment; she sure seemed to have a harder time getting used to her paws than Zanzibar did. Of course, she wasn't there to witness his birth... so she could only guess. Maybe it only took a few minutes; it looked like she was getting the hang of it. "Dat's it, you can do it Sasha!" she encouraged her.

Suddenly, a yawn stifled her and she rubbed her eyes. Looking around, suddenly tired, the time caught up to her and stretched her great wings.

Foenix caught sight of Pueblo yawning, and nodded her head resolutely. She looked over at the skyline at the sun as it set through the trees. "I think it's time for our little group to head home. It's getting dark, and I don't want to walk across the land bridge at night without a flashlight or something."

Nehanda opened her mouth to whine, but closed it quickly. She didn't want to go home yet! She didn't want to leave her new friends behind. But she also didn't want to look like a crybaby in front of everybody. Her wings drooped a little bit as she looked over at Sanar. "It was fun meetin' you, Sanar. Maybe Foenix will let me come back soon, so we can play! I wanna see some of the stuff you collect. Or you can come over to my house and see my garden! I'll give you some flowers once they're bloomin' better."

Foenix gave Nehanda an approving pat on the shoulder. She'd recognized the impulse to whinge, as any parent would, and was proud of the fact that the little girl seemed to be growing up a little. "I'm sure we can arrange a visit soon." she looked over at Chao for agreement, then over at Wyvern. "Good luck with the rest of your quest items. Makai certainly seems like a great kid!

Nehanda bent down to give Tayte a couple of good-bye strokes over his soft fur. She waved goodbye to Doris and Wyvern, then surprised herself with a big yawn! Smiling sheepishly, she reached up to take Foenix's hand. Maybe she could convince her guardian to carry her back home . . .

"Welcome!" replied Air back at Fae, as she picked up the containers in which she had brought the food.

Oleo jumped down from Air's shoulder and started rolling the balls back home. He was having in his own way, as he already knew he had no trouble rolling them on the floor at home.

"Hope to see you all again soon!" said Air picking up the ripped teddy bear, she had no free hands with wich to wave.

Sanar's wings drooped a bit but at the mention of getting together with 'Handa again soon she brightened and nodded, "mmm! I wanna see 'Handa's garden. Le's play soon, 'kay?" she said as Chao trotted over, ruffling Sanar's hair a bit.

"A visit sounds like a great idea," Chao replied with a smile.

Sanar waved energeticly to everyone, "bye Peblo! Bye Pie! Bye-"

Chao whispered the word 'everyone' to her daughter as she picked her up.

"Mmm, bai ever'un!" Sanar called, continuing to wave as she settled in Chao's arms.

"Bye everyone! It was great meeting you," Chao called, letting Sanar wave for her.

Glancing up, Ieyasu looked at the sky before back to the the other two Cetalu guardians. After a moment, he nodded and pulled his backpack over, beginning to quickly ready his belonging to leave. As he rummaged about in the pack, his hand brushed against some soft cloth that had been stuffed into the bottom. Of course - he had put that in there to cushion the jar. Pulling out the blue cloth, he looked thoughtful for a moment. Did Wyvern not say that she was looking for some cloth? And, well, it wasn't like he needed it to protect the jar any more. Zipping his bag shut and rising to his feet, the cloth clutched in one hand, Ieyasu looked over at Wyvern.

"Hey, I almost forgot I had this. I was using it for the jar, but, well..." he glanced down at Sasha. "It's not like I need it now. Do you want it for your kid's growth?" The kitsune offered her the blue cloth with a grin.

"And we'd better go, I guess. It was great meeting you all - we'll need to do this again. Osu, come on. We need to go now."

Osu looked up at Yassu, his expression disappointed. He didn't like it when he had to leave his friends, especially when they were new. "Aww... do we have to, Yassu??"

"Mhm. It's getting late, and look - Pueblo and Nehanda are going too. We'll get left behind."

The possibility of being left behind was enough to convince Osu. Jumping up to his feet, he spun around to face Makai and the other 'nadir from the other island. "I gots to go now. Bye bye!" Waving, he then turned back to Yassu again. "Can we play 'gain later? I wanna see dem 'gain!"

Ieyasu nodded to Osu as he took a few steps over to Sasha. It was a long walk, and the gryphon was just newly emerged. He figured he'd be better carrying her. "Sure, maybe another time." Leaning down, he scooped up Sasha. The tiger/osprey gryphon was much bigger and heavier than Osu had been. Although, that was to be expected, he guessed. She was part Siberian tiger afterall. Turning to the Ar'Idil inhabitants, he grinned. "Thanks for everything guys - today was fun. Hopefully we'll see you again sometime." He turned, intending to follow Fae, Foenix and the other Aerandir.

Sashen'ka gave a rapid series of chirps as she was lifted, unfamiliar with this. Where did the ground under her paws go? After a brief moment though, she felt something solid again as she was able to rest against Ieyasu's arms. Looking about herself with her bright blue eyes, she took in the world from her new high vantage point. This was interesting. After a short moment, she realised that something was dangling next to her. Turning her head, she noticed that a few long white strands of Ieyasu's hair were hanging tantalisingly close to her. They were just begging to be chewed! Craning her neck to get closer, she caught hold of the locks of hair and began to chew at them.

Still waving farewell to everyone, Nehanda yawned yet again. Exhaustion made her childish, and she wordlessly held her arms up to Foenix. It was just too far to walk . . .

With a chuckle, Foenix bent down and hoisted the Aerandir into her arms. She winced a bit as she considered how far they had to go, and Nehanda sure was growing! Turning, she freed a hand to wave goodbye to everyone she had met that afternoon.

"This was really lovely, folks. We'll have to do it again soon. Good night!" The sun was barely visible as she started to walk toward home with the other Cetalu inhabitants. This had been a really nice day. New places, new friends, new gryphons and another soon to become a child . . . what more could you ask for?

Makai was quicker on the uptake than his caretaker this time. "Ah!" he cried joyously, floating through the cloth that Ieyasu offerd up. Blue was a good color and not just because it was his color. He circled the cloth as it was accepted and carefully folded away.

Wyvern just grinned, shaking her head in disbelief. What a day, what a day. "Thanks, all of you," she said with a bow. "Some party this turned out to be, eh?" With a quick tap on Makai's drum, she shouldered her pack and gathered up her fishing rods from where she'd set them earlier. She waved. "Maybe we should make an annual picnic, to commemorate this event," she commented, mostly to herself.

The wisp liked this idea. He wanted to see Osu again. Maybe when he was solid and they could actually play. He waved energetically to his new friends. "Bai!" That was one mouth-sound he knew and so he put it to good use, spouting it off again and again.

"C'mon Mack," Wyv said with a wave of her own. "Time for dinner. And a nap." Seeing others yawn only made her yawn as well, and she smothered a rather large one as she headed back to the village, Makai tailing just behind. "Definately a nap."
