They will assuming he asked for one, just need 2-3 players and to send a request- I have one for a game I started- though I ended up putting it on hold for a bit...

Bad DM! BAD! *Hits loth17 with a newspaper*

That is not a thought a DM should have. You should never think "Oh, the/my game may just die" because I'll bet you more than anything that is what WILL lead it to dying. The players have some part in a game's survival, but it is 70% on the DM and their perserverance and desire to see the game succeed.

I did not keep Vanguards of Corvale running for two years by having thoughts like those. Not at all.

If you think your game might die, what will your players think? Eh? razz

YOUR RIGHT!!! You have inspired me to finish the team rocket of my campaign (The group that has no effect on the story most of the time and exists only to be comic relief and to give the players exp if they dont earn enough before certain markers in my campaign, until they get serious)

I did not manage to finally complete Keep on the Shadowfell in four years by having thoughts like those, or by relying on the same group of players. Players come and players go, but your game is only as enduring as its DM.

Anyhow, the biggest challenge will be to get through the first combat encounter, most games fall apart during or before that.

I promised that the campaign would start on Saturday and i am a DM of my word (lies) so here we go.

it is the fifth of august at eight o clock as all of you have been escorted to the palace in the city of dihtili and into the modest throne room. (you can decide how they got you to go i prefer my players to have a good amount of say of how they got there, helps character building) On the throne sat a man of massive stature in black crystal armor a massive full-blade made of the same material plunged into the stone floor next to him, he sported a black beard and had a face untouched by age. The man was Alexander the sixty ninth psychic king of the country of Htol. King Alexander orders all of the people including guards and servants out except for the party. The king rises from his large throne and walks until he is ten feet from the party "Im sorry to call upon you all on such short notice however i am in a bit of a spot you see, my daughter Alicia she has been kidnapped and i would like to keep this a secret or else my enemies might try to slay me while i have no heir and i cannot go my self as i have to keep the city running so i am sending you all. i want you to start investigating the western palace gate that was were she was last seen by her personal guards before she....evaded them and i promise you all if you bring my daughter back alive i will give each of you an artifact from my personal collection. Any questions before i send you off"

Lesson time: (you all know this except the were wolf) the city was founded by the first king of Htol his name lost to the ages he was a great psycic and every person descended from him has had similar powers each new generation more powerful than the previous. The god worshiped by the people of Htol is the unnamed got of the mind, thought, and knowledge. The city is separated into many separate districts.

The noble district
The port district
The mages district which includes the school and the houses of the towns casters.
The commons home of the commoners
The slums
The foreign district
The upper district home of the churches of the mind god and the other religions that exist in the country
The lower district home of the fiends that make the city their home
The bazzar
The palace

Each district has there own type of government that makes minor laws and ordinances for their district and each has a Representative sent that resides in the noble district and advises the king on important decisions.

Jareth stood in the back of the group, with a thoughtful look on his face. Seems this cities getting more and more wild with time. "I have one. Where are the guards that were seeing to her safety? I would like to speak with them if at all possible." he said. seemed like a good starting point. see what they knew of the situation before heading to the sight itself. never hurts to do research on the situation.

((Still say we should move this to a sub forum, even if it doesn't end up lasting which is a terrible thing to assume- it's so much more organized then doing the game in the same thread you recruited in >.>))

Briefly glancing at Jareth, she shrugs, "I suppose the guards might be better able to answer the obvious questions- like- who took them, and where to start looking for signs of them."

(Am I right in assuming it would be common knowledge to know about how old his daughter is?)

Jareth nodded tin response. "It beats starting blind in any case." he said, looking to see if anyone else had anything to add. He was wonding if she had just ran off. kids can be like that these days. But something told him that was not very likely.

Brighid was an alright sort, as far as Jareth was concerned. a bit odd, but who was he to talk. Her spells were considerably useful and her faith was much easier to 8nderstand to him than the others. In his fathers tribe, they worshiped many totemic spirits. not quite the same, but close enough.

"If we come up with other questions before we leave we might need to come back, until then," Brighid gave a mechanical bow to the king, not that she didn't genuinely respect him, she just wasn't good and being submissive. After that she turned towards where the king mentioned the guards would be. She stopped halfway to make sure here new 'partner' was following- given it was his suggestion anyway...
