Any Day Now had been visiting the area for a few days now: any dreams of inclement conditions were very much welcome, and today she intended to figure out how to dance in it given the way her narrow hooves sunk into the white expanse. There were more Kin now, and it seemed to be a portent...would it be better to chat or stumble about in the snow today?

She considered the scene - a good smattering of various Kimeti in many shades, some chipper, some bleak, and an obnoxious pink surrounded by a bunch of dogs in conversation. Several of the kin had their own squishy pets, but there was no conceivable reason why someone would need three. Now paused and contemplated her next move...

Snow of Legend was so excited. Not necessarily about the cold, though it wasn't too horrible during the day, but the SNOW. Sure, he'd seen a some snow in his many years, but it was rare, and never amounted to anything like THIS. This was the snow of stories and myths, the kind of snow he'd seen in his naming dream! He'd always hoped the day would come where his dream would come to fruition, for he had a feeling it would lead to something big. The feeling in the air, that had drawn other kin to this area, seemed to mean he was right.

At night, when the frigid air was too much to bear, he would huddle with the others, listening to songs and stories, even supplying his own. But even though he was a very chatty buck, and loved to meet new people, when day broke, and the weather was just that little more tolerable, any time he had a chance he would head for the hills, hoping to be one of the first to glimpse whatever might be headed this way.

It was there he stood humming as he cleared out snow for a place to sit -- he'd had to clear it every day from newly acquired precipitation -- but he didn't mind, it was something to occupy his time as he waited.

Midnight Sun laughed and flung snow at her sister. "How could I possibly have done this? I'm just here to enjoy it!" Smirking, she danced around Traveller. "I've been with our dear mother this whole time, sister, the mother that I notice you have neglected to greet, despite these trying times upon us! You never know when this cold might be too much for her, bless her heart...Now, if you'll excuse me, I've seen something so interesting over here, and I absolutely must know what it is!" Kicking up more snow as she passed, Midnight Sun made a beeline for two odd-looking familiars she had spotted in the crowd, strange transparent creatures that, for all she could tell, did not appear to have any owner. "Heeeey there," the doe bounded after them. "What sort of creatures are you? Ghosts brought along with the snow, maybe?"

Shadelight sighed. "A pity you do not have more to tell. As for the swamp, all I've seen is snow and all I've felt is cold for days. A few unfortunates have succumbed to it. But we've all had the dreams--I can only feel apprehensive about what the Motherfather is trying to show us." The doe shook off some snow that had accumulated in the time she'd been talking to the Kiokote, and looked around at the assembled kin again. "At least a few of the Swamp's Chosen are here as well...though they don't appear to know any more about what is going on than anyone else."

Murkcrow, already inching slowly away, nodded vigorously. "Yes, that would be good...but remember not to make any sudden movements. They'll be on us like hawks." When he reached what he judged to be a safe distance from the does, he broke into a more normal walk and headed for the assembled kin. "They're so annoying," he grumbled, watching the other kin through squinted eyes. Even with the natural glow of his eyes to reduce glare, it was still really bright out in the open. He wasn't sure who to talk to now that he was here.

"Really? Two. That must be a sign." As quickly as they had perked up, his ears had shifted backwards in slight anger. Even if it was just his sister joking around, he never enjoyed it. "You know I'm too busy for things like that."

Sun calmed down from being teased and watched as his sister eyed the other kin in the area and then did the same, "I do wonder the Motherfather's reason for bringing us here though."

Playing Fox's only reaction to Rouge's slip about hunting fennecs was a raised brow. "Somehow I'm not surprised that you enjoy the dreams, Rouge, you do tend to gravitate toward the grotesque." The statement was not an insult, as such, but it held a certain subdued bite.

Turning to the kiokote, Fox couldn't help but smile somewhat wryly. "It is a lovely place, indeed, and quite warm -- though one never quite becomes used to the sharp sting of sand during a windstorm. I'd much rather visit your plains."

A movement in his peripheral vision caught Fox's eye, and he turned his head to see another acha enter the clearing. "What now, who is this lovely lady," he mused, his eyes glinting with curiosity. "I don't believe I know her...do you, Rouge?"

Meets-the-Sea can't help but blush a little at Wood Spider's revelation, but it is mostly with happiness. "Yes, it will be my mate and I's first clutch, we only found out a few days ago when -- well," she laughed happily, "when Longstride blessed us, actually." The doe smiles up at Spider, her eyes gleaming. "But I am used to traveling, and I am not too far along yet. Don't worry on my account."

Meets flicks her tail, looking over the legendary who had done so much for her in the past. It is good to see Spider again, and Meets' admiration for the mare has only grown greater with time. "But enough about me...how have you been faring, Wood Spider?"

Rouge smirked at the subtle jibe - oh, that Fox! "Indeed, I always had a thing for you" she teased...but all thoughts vanished when she turned to see the subject of his question.

It.

Was.

"YOU!!!!!" she snarled with a red-hot fury unusual for the easy-going doe. At her outburst, Kisses dropped his play with the Kiokote and dashed to root himself in front of her, hackles raised as he growled deeply at the interloper.

User Image "A sign...well, yes, I suppose it could be," she nodded her agreement. She had merely thought they too felt the need and desire to come, not that it meant anything more extraordinary then all the kin gathering without a Legendary. And Grandmother was the type who liked knowledge so of course she was speaking with as many as she could.

The thought would have to wait until later for she found her brother's demeanor stiffen and she had to bite back a sigh. He might never rebuke her teasing but she never seemed to learn to not let it be bothersome. Her ears swiveled at his retort because she would never roll her eyes at him, that might make him feel badly. Besides there were far too many sounds around that he might take it any other way.

"In due time, brother," she hummed. One could never rush the Motherfather or a story.

He smiled at Salt. "Very nice." His movements mimicking hers as best he could. Even for a large group around, he seemed content to talk with a doe who seemed slightly unimpressed by him.

The buck she tried talking to seemed distracted, so she turned to look for another to talk to in the area. There was a tad bit of green in the white, but it showed no signs of being stepped on with all the kin around. Smiling, Above pranced as best she could in the snow towards the green and white kin. "Hi!" Her voice was a bit high at the moment when she talked. "You blend right in with the snow."

Just before he heard the voice, Snow caught the motion of bright colors in his periphery. Blinking, he turned his head around from his cleared out spot in the snow and spotted the ...rather vibrant acha coming towards him. "Oh, hello there," he greeted her in return, moving to stand up to be polite. "I guess I do blend in, don't I," he continued, "it's no wonder I haven't had any company yet, hm?" He smiled a genuine smile at her, obviously pleased to not be alone in watching the hills. "Please, join me," he offered, moving to clear more snow out of the way for her to sit if she wanted.

Above looked at his markings. The green against the white was magnificent on the buck. "That could be. I don't know how even I seen you, but I am glad that I did." She kept shifting, wondering what to talk about. "I am Above Heartache. Thank you. I would like to join you."

She stepped into the spot he cleared out for her, happy to see a buck thinking about others too. "Are you enjoying this gathering? There are so many around." The bright Acha doe was enjoying the warmth coming from Snow.

"It's nice to meet you. I am Snow of Legend. But you can call me Snow," he added, with a smile. "I usually stand out quite harshly in the swamp, this is something new to me," he chuckled.

As she settled into the cleared spot, he sat back down. "Yes, the gathering is nice, but I come out here to watch when I can. I am very anxious to see what comes, as this is the kind of snow I saw in my dream, and I cannot help but think it means something." He glances back to the hills as he speaks, almost as in reverence to his surroundings.

The Kiokote followed Fox’s gaze towards the newest Acha, and of course looked infinitely pleased, until Rouge’s outburst. He watched with a look of bemused as the once perfectly sweet doe erupted into fury.

Internal strife? How fascinating!

There were a few eyes on her now, but the pink blur and her dog(s) were very intent on making themselves known. Following the doe's rage, Now paused.

And blinked. "And...you?" She suggested, in her cool, steady voice with a hint of confusion. "In all honesty, lady," almost a drawl, "I don't remember you at all."
