Alana Alana waited patiently as the man stopped and turned to face her, capturing another glimpse of his smile. If there was a time to make friends, it was now. "Traveler," She parroted, stepping towards him a bit. With a shaky, reluctant hand, Alana reached out and offered him her hand to shake as a gesture of friendship. The first friend she had tried to make in years.

Alex paused at the woman's insistence and gave her a polite, if somewhat vacant, smile then tilted his head for the question. "The Order of course," he answered simply, as if it were the obvious thing. "Of Right. We always do what's right," he gave another emphatic nod then looked over the people. "Well, looks like you're understanding each other now an not about to chuck spells in the Triliean's grazing field so --" he puffed up his chest and rolled a heel lightly in the horse's side to turn it in a graceful, flowing motion. "I'll be off" he gave them that winning smile again with a wave of his free hand.

The man gave a subtle nod when she repeated his name and the smile turned a touch coy at the offer of her hand. But there was a slight hesitation before he freed his own hand from the concealing cloak and took a step forward to return the shake. He did though, taking the girl's hand in his wrapped grip and holding it firmly though not roughly for three shakes exactly then pulling away. The hand had been warm but not clammy just unusually hot as if it had been recently held over a fire. She could smell it now, the smell of fire on him. That subtle sting of char and smoke with the added sulfur bite of freshly lit matches. It was a subtle smell most wouldn't have noticed or at least not been able to place but fire held a special meaning in this girl's heart so she knew it all too well.
"So do we have the same name or have you just forgotten yours?" the man's voice distracted her from his smell. It was louder now, fuller with a silky timbre and subtle hint of wry jest.

As Alex moved off toward the distance, Linda spread her hands. "But who checks to make sure the bloody Order's idea of Right is correct!?"

"The Order. Of course," the odd man turned on his horse to laugh, slowing the animal to wait. "So are you coming to Atalan for lunch or do you eat grass?" he asked in a tone that suggested it may be an honest question and not all that unusual a suggestion that these people were grass grazers.

Linda made a frustrated strangling noise, not unlike that of someone trying to choke out a dying animal, best articulated by the text string:
"Urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhngggggggggghrrrrrraaaaaaaaggghhhhllllrllll"
Doing her best to not consider people might actually be left with their lives in this man's hands, she set off in pursuit.

Alice The girl flinched as the man pulled out his hand to shake hers, still not fully trusting him. When their hands met, Alice immediately felt singed. The contact his scalding palm and the exotic stench of fire brought up memories. The girl froze for a few moments as she experienced flashbacks.
The enticing flame of a candle and the beautiful withering paper that seemed to fold around flames, that's how it started. It was innocent at first; everyone has explored the wonders of fire at least once in their life. Then it began to progress, the late nights in the alley of her neighborhood smelling the grotesque odor of burning garbage but she couldn't peel her eyes away, the flames bouncing and dancing with her. One by one, lighting each garbage can, filling the air with smoke and the smell of death, the flames called to her. More, they needed more.
First it was the curtains her mother bought two years ago at a garage sale, then the couches her father always sat on when he watched television. Slowly she recalled burning home, ridding herself of the memories of her deceased parents that followed her every day. She had become so lost in trying to erase her past that she became trapped within the fire she set. Trapped. That was the feeling she was left with when the horrendous flashbacks stopped.
Alana pulled her hand away quickly after the shake and clutched her arm. The scar she had gotten in the fire was throbbing; it had never done that before. Oddly enough her leg felt as if it was being scorched as well, but she didn’t take note of that. She looked up at Traveler, confused and scared, but she somehow managed to collect herself.
She let out a meek chuckle at his remark, trying to distract him from her obviously pained posture, "I'm Alana," she replied softly.

Fredrick Mason
A bit of progress at last was good, no matter how small. Having someone that could understand him was a step in a good direction to getting home and getting back at his master. Fred blinked as the youth pulled a small stone out of his(?) pocket and passed it to him. The faint buzz of magic that came from the stone piqued his interest. Taking the stone with a small bow of thanks, he clenched his fist over it and closed his eyes, concentrating on the magics inside it. A three layer spell; one for listening, one for translating and the last to repeat in another language. A handy little device, that he could probably make himself with enough power.
Interestingly, although his headache had gotten much worse when he had used the last of his magic, it seemed to be dissipating now that he was completely out of magic letting him concentrate more on the matter at hand. In his rough Common, Fredrick looked back to the youth “I take it only the main languages of here are translated with the stone?” He looked at the stone, sighed with resignation and pressed it into his left ear. Hearing the call of food as soon as he had inserted the stone, the young mage perked up, before a look of confusion creased his forehead. “You say lunch, but I have no money or anything to trade other than the clothes I'm wearing. Unless you are paying for all of us. Which would be the right thing to do, wouldn't it.”

Sam lost track of what was going on as soon as the knight arrived. He felt as though he didn't connect with these things that had wandered their way into Aelzwyr as good as he should have, and as the knight spoke he looked out at the great ocean and sighed.
The forests still had much to offer in terms of goods but this knight and these people were interesting. None of them had the potential of sales though. The feminine thing was too, scared, the big one was angry and the bleeding be-robed was...well he could have potential, Sam didn't talk to him yet.
The knight though, the knight was a no-no, first because Sam had nothing offer, and second because the merchant had had his fill of organisations and their wiles. He didn't need to add another to his roster because he sold one of their members a broken navigational sphere or shrieked in his ear with a harpy babel stone.
When would anyone understand that a "gag item" is a "gag item"?
The mad man could bet the Order of Right had no qualms against torturing to the death someone who had a little fun with one of their members. Sam almost felt disgust.
The offer of lunch made Sam stop his thoughts and look towards the group as a whole. Truth be told, the merchant could go for heading back to the warehouse in Beimini and restocking. Either or. Both maybe.
But this was the hand fate had dealt the traveling merchant of questionable wares (though really, his stock was cleaerly explained and he separated out the "gag" items) and he was going to see it through to the end, maybe come to the rescue should anyone in Atalan decide to enslave them, or just watch.
He wouldn't care too much if their attitudes didn't improve, or if they still didn't buy anything.
Sam kept his mouth shut and walked with the group, pasting a smile on his face cause nothing else would fit.

[Just a few comments: You don't have to put the name at the first of your post. Especially if you're going to get it wrong. Second, that's a good lot more reaction than I was expecting but hey, I'm not gonna stop you from being mentally unstable. Do note however, his hand isn't 'scalding' just warmer than usual and the fire smell is faint.] The man had leaned back slightly when she looked pained and she could almost feel him watching her curiously but he didn't comment on it, didn't ask. He simply gave her a nod and repeated the name, "Alana," in a velvet tone then turned slightly to stand more beside her, motioning with the hand she'd shaken out toward the narrow street ahead of them. "Join me for a stroll, Miss Alana?" the man asked smoothly.

[Oh sorry, I was talking to my friend and her name is Alice, I must have written it down by accident.]
Alana watched as the man moved to her side and gestured out. She nodded and walked with him through the plaza.

Dreaming_Ninja_2918 [Oh sorry, I was talking to my friend and her name is Alice, I must have written it down by accident.] [Is ok, just be mindful and always read your posts over at least once to catch mistakes. Also try and give us a little more than a couple lines. Quality over speed.] Traveler just walked with her through the quiet little street lined with strange and wondrous things. He didn't talk for a while, giving the the chance to take it all in; the different architecture, different people, different plants, different things, even a few strange looking creatures the girl could only assume were pets - a miniature pink elephant being one. But as the street grew less and populated, the houses less grand, and things started to seem maybe a bit run down, he tilted his head toward her and she caught the subtle hint of a smile once again.
"I'm guessing you're shy," he nearly purred and didn't wait for confirmation. "Most people rattle off a hundred questions before passing the first block and here we are, almost to the end of the street but you've only asked one."

The youth did not look pleased with what the knight was doing on the hillside below but it didn't make a fuss about it, only watched with narrowed eyes and tight lips. When the bloody mage spoke, the youth turned a slighly flat look on him but nodded its head, "Yeah, well, main languages everywhere as it works out. For most places." The youth slightly shrugged as Fred put the stone in his ear.
The mage's next comment recieved an unamused half glare from the youth. "Sir Airhead said it. Not me," it gave the mage a scruitinous look over, hazel specked eyes settling on the book in his hands. "And you got a spellbook to trade," the youth looked back up at the mage with a dark little grin. "Not worth much more'n the paper it's printed on but it is a book an' I'll feed ya for it."

Alice Alice cocked her head to the side a little as she listened to the riddles of the cat below her. The words flowed to her head easily and even without translation, they were understood. As far as Alice was concerned the little furry mammal was fun and she could understand it which was a plus. Though as far as Alice knew, Bill still couldn't make her out for the most part.
Gently she came down from her elevated position and joined Bill at ground level. It was probably in Alice's best interests to stick with the cat for the time being, otherwise Alice would be left without anything or anyone at all. "Bill," Alice said quietly and pointed to the cat in question with a more serious look to her face, it didn't suit her though, making her look a little more assertive than it should. "Alice," she said pointing at herself to make clear her earlier statement. She then threw her arms appart and laughed with a childish innocent giggle, the sash floating around her twisting once again with her movements to keep its self in position in some way or another.
'My name is Alice and I am pleased to meet you Bill!'
A broad smile found it's self back on her face as Aice realised that this was her first proper greeting, and possibly the foundations of the first relation to another living thing.
Alice was learning fast, very fast. Her mind was definitely as unique as herself, through as things stood at the moment Alice was thinking more with pictures due to having basically no language whatsoever. Bill was right, the first thing she needed to do was gain the ability to converse properly, how Ashe could do that quickly Alice wasn't sure. Her mind drifted back voer the words Bill said to her, the phrases that she heard clearly in her mind. "Words to... Leeearn and... thiiings to dooo" She said cautiously as her tounge went over words she had not propperly heard. Unlike the words she had gotten from the hobos, Bill seemed to speak in a different way with his words being more 'direct'.

Rüd could pause his inquisition for the time being if it meant food. He followed after the paladin with his naturally lengthy strides. He reached for the goggles dangling around his neck and went to pull th-- they're not there. He glanced down to realize that yes, he was without them. This realization really threw a wrench into his works; while this place wasn't particularly bright, dominated by fog and haze as it was, it was enough to feel harsh after a period of time. Now he lacked the ability to adjust his eyes with the tinted goggles he carried everywhere by nature of habit. He must have left them on then nightstand of the late YSS Genesis.
He sighed a heavy sigh that was quite average for his great lungs and resigned himself to the idea that he would just have to find or work for a new pair. Not a likely event considering what technology he'd witnessed thus far, but Rüd wasn't going to sweat it.
