Kaeru ShindōUser Image

Kaeru hopped across yet another roof, lifting his legs high to clear the ledge of the next building. When he landed he rolled with the motion and continued forth. He planted his hand on the ledge and then swung his legs over, dropping down eight feet and bending with the impact. He found himself in between two buildings, close to the main street towards the Raikage's office. He patted the messenger bag slung across his shoulder to make sure the stacks of letters Shizuna had given him did not fall down. A smirk touched his face as he recalled the post office people saying not to read the letters. He couldn't even if he tried.

Kaeru exited the alleyway and blended in with the crowd to avoid templar detection. When he made it to the base of the tower he opened the door and walked on in. Luckily the office was not too busy so the line he had to wait in was short. When it was his turn Kaeru stepped up to the receptionist and spoke politely. "Hello, I have some letters from the post office, though I'm not sure if they are all for this building." He reached into the bag and pulled out the stack, handing it to the lady. When she touched the stack Kaeru got a clear look at her face, and could tell she was giving him an incredulous look. Kaeru shrugged and smiled, waiting for her to sort through them. Thankfully she told him they were, and sent Kaeru on his way.

[Enters From Gate]
Kensei walked inside of the office building only to notice it less crowded than usual. There were a few villagers there that would give out the missions to the genin or had a few complaints. Kensei waved at a few of them before reaching the receptionist desk. "Yeah I'm here to see the Raikage. Me and my team are back from Sunagakure." He pulled the letter he received from David from his ninja tool pouch and showed it to the receptionist.

A short, white haired boy walked into the tower's reception area, dragging along a large fat man wrapped up in wires so tightly he could barely walk. The man, despite being so much larger and presumably stronger than the child, didn't even twitch more than was necessary. Quite probably because Shikaku had told him (Falsely) that some of the wires were in fact razor wire, and would cut him badly, likely fatally, if he struggled. After the boy had gone to examine the package he'd taken from the man earlier, the man had jumped out at him, in such a rush to stop him from opening the thing that it had been a pathetically simple matter to restrain first one arm, and then the other with his wires.

He hadn't even needed Yelena's help in the whole thing. A lucky fact, considering he hadn't seen her since shortly after they entered the smog district. He wasn't sure where she had gone, or why, but having been unable to locate her after awhile, and even after having forced the pickpocket to lead him to where the man had hidden his wallet (A piece of crap it may have been, but it was still the only one he had.), he'd resigned himself to simply turn in the mission, and the thief, alone.

He wasn't sure why the Raikage wanted to meet the thief personally, but, if this really had been a mission from the top, he wasn't going to take chances. And if it wasn't, well, maybe he could still get a bit of compensation for having caught the man, since real mission or not, he had caught a real pickpocket. Seeing a small group of nin already approaching the receptionist though, he resigned himself to waiting, and held back, conveniently near the room's only visible ANBU guard, just in case the man spooked and tried to escape. He was after all, larger and likely stronger than Shikaku. He counted himself lucky to have gotten this far with him in fact.

Enter from Gates of Kumogakure

Sora entered the Raikage's Tower with a yawn. She wasn't trying to be disrespectful, nor was she bored. No, she was just tired. Now that she was back in her home village, she had subconsciously relaxed. Before, her sense of responsibility had kept her energy up, but now that sense was gone.

As she waited for Kensei to get through with the familiarities, Sora looked around the reception area. Her eyes immediately found the most interesting subjects: a white-haired boy next to a bound fat man. First of all, the fat man was tied up in wires. Second of all, both of them were someone Sora had not seen before, or at least she didn't recognize them, which actually counted for more than their interesting arrangement.

Immediately, at the sight of this new potential friend, the girl perked up. Her dusty face and clothes may have obviously pointed out that she had just returned after a good deal of traveling, but her excited expression nor her equally excited skip to White-Hair and Fat-Man showed none of the exhaustion that had been present in the yawn just a few moments ago.

"Hello? Hello!" Sora greeted as she stopped on her heels in an energetic fashion and leaned forwards, "What are you two up to? I'm Sora Hikari!". Her guess to her question was that the white-haired boy was probably turning in the fat man for some sort of mission, but there was never any harm in asking, right?User Image

Laxus walked into the tower nonchalantly, looking around as he did so. This place was kinda nice. Could use a bit of an industrial touch, since the village seemed to be heading that way. Sometimes Scaffolding was tacky, and made things look unfinished, but put up some iron walls, and some scaffolding, and you'd have a pretty nice place. It'd make it oh so easy from someone like Jishaku to attack, what with part of it being made of metal. Laxus would have to think harder on a renovation if he ever got to be strong enough to lead the village. At least it was a sight better than Sunagakure. " Ha! I bet that kid's probably sitting back as his villagers rebuild the place for him. " Laxus said smiling to himself.

He walked up next to Kensei, and thought about possibly saying something, but then thought against it. Maybe that little rat Kazekage was trying to tell him not to speak out of turn. Either way, the rat deserved to eat metal for doing so in such a disrespectful manner. Laxus was definitely that child's senior in life, and while the child was a kage, they should still treat their elders with respect. Laxus had done nothing to wrong the child, nor Kensei. Laxus just hadn't liked waiting while Kensei stumbled over his words. Laxus wandered over to Kensei's position and rested himself against the desk, looking out over the area. There were people here, a couple shinobi, and a few villagers. And... A child with a person tied up with wires? That was interesting. Laxus would have to carry a bit of wire now, this child had quite the idea. With Laxus' bloodline, it wouldn't be that hard to use wire as rope, or use it to stop a target. Interestingly enough, the child had taken up positioning near the visible ANBU. Somewhat comical, but it was understandable. The kid did look a bit weak, probably weaker than Laxus was even. Laxus didn't recognize him, but then again that wasn't uncommon. Laxus wasn't even from the village.

EDIT:

Laxus smiled as he noticed Sora had already walked over to introduce herself to the boy. If she didn't know the boy, chances were that Laxus wouldn't. Heck, maybe even the Raikage didn't know him personally. Although... He was standing there waiting on something, maybe the Raikage? If so, then the Raikage would have to know him. Eh, no matter.

Shikaku looked up, somewhat surprised as one of the other nin in the room rushed, no, practically teleported directly in front of him and introduced herself. He wasn't sure what was more shocking. Her sudden appearance and evident desire to chat with a total stranger, or the fact that seconds before she had looked about ready to go to sleep standing up. Well, probably both combined were the real surprise.

"Um..." he stuttered, trying to regain his focus and formulate a response to the rather odd question he had been asked. How had she thrown him off so badly so quickly? On further thought, that was rather amazing in itself. Maybe he should adopt that tactic later on, it'd certainly be useful if he could make it work for him. "Turning in a prisoner, and probably going to jail, respectively." he answered once his mind focused itself again, pointing vaguely first at himself, then at his prisoner, who suddenly seemed even more uncomfortable than he had already. Maybe what was a bit odd from the boy's perspective was unsettling from his own?

"I'm Shikaku, by the way." he added in, giving his best grin and holding his hand out for the traditional civilian greeting - a handshake. Most shinobi didn't seem to care for those, likely due to the various dangers that came from giving another ninja your hand, and trust, but Shikaku was civilian born and raised, and also didn't particularly expect the possibly crazy girl to do anything... Maybe it wasn't such a great idea after all actually...

The way Sora innocently tilted her head to the side as Shikaku stuttered made it obvious that she hadn't meant to throw Shikaku off in any way. Once he began replying smoothly, her head righted itself right away as she nodded to his response. Of course, the hand he offered was taken just as eagerly in a casual shake followed by the words, "Nice to meet you, Shikaku. Do you want candy?". Of course, candy had to pop into the conversation eventually. It was part of Sora's standard greeting, even if she was starting to be able to see the bottom of her candy bag.

Sora was, if such a thing existed, hyper at meeting someone who actually seemed around her age that she could just goof off and talk casually with. It had seemed like forever. The last time was with Aoi and... Sora would rather not think about Aoi. At least not in front of people who might get worried when she pulled off a sad face. Nagisa and Kensei were nice, but both of them were older than her. The same went with Laxus, and in addition, he somehow seemed less sociable; although, Sora would never hint at such a thing for fear that it would be mean. Shikaku, however, was her age, and as awkward as seemed to have felt at Sora's sudden introduction, he also gave off a friendly-enough vibe.User Image

Raikage
Natsumi Rei
--------------------------------
((Probably time to give the acting Raikage some actual personality.))
((Hinote: Once you turn him in the guard will take any "evidence" and give you payment. If you want you can then try and meet the Raikage.))
'Natsumi Rei', Raikage of the moment, fell unceremoniously into her chair glaring after the shut door. Today had been a very long day for her, and she was beginning to wonder if Nagisa was neglecting duty and giving the rough bits to her. This was supposed to be both of them running the Kage character, but that it seemed wasn't going to happen. While Jounin Nagisa was off doing who knows what, probably all the fun parts of the job, Raikage 'Natsumi' was stuck dealing with actual village business. She was also training a handful of desk jockeys to take care of the least rewarding of her tasks. Nagisa wouldn't mind, she wasnt giving away the really important stuff, and chose her employees well. Perhaps she could even get someone to deal with most of those jerks who wanted missions or to make requests and the like. The new Raikage wasnt supposed to have a particularly friendly reputation anyways. The new Raikage was simply supposed to bring the village to greatness, whether it's people liked it or not.
The machine on her desk buzzed only a few minutes after the last guest arrived however. She wouldnt get long between guests today even with her help it seemed. "Who is it?"
"The Team Leader from Suna has returned."
This was technically good news, but it was just one more thing the real Raikage was supposed to deal with. "Send 'em up." She said, trying to hide the edge in her tone. That team had better bring good news.

---------------------------

The receptionist waved her hand toward the envelope and an ANBU appeared, grabbing it out of the boys hand. His hands formed a simple, but uncommon seal, and a loud pop erupted from the letter. He handed it back to the boy and nodded, it was safe. With little more than a nod the receptionist buzzed the kage, and sent the boy and his team up. She had an even longer day than the Raikage and was beginning to wonder if it wasn't too soon to ask for a vacation. Then she saw another boy waiting, sort of. He was chatting with one of the team members.
"Hey! You with the white hair! Are you going to stand there forever or turn in the suspect?" She nodded her head towards the ANBU guard who was positioned for two reasons. 1: to make sure visitors understood the place was secured, and 2: to finalize any arrests or captures. The boy seemed new though, she didnt recognize him at least.
-----------------------------
PostPosted: Wed Jan 09, 2013 11:12 pm

Kensei watched the ANBU ,make a seal in from of the envelope in amazement. When Kensei was a kid, he was always the odd one out. While most of his friends wanted to become Kages, Kensei wanted to become a member of the ANBU Black Ops. Man those guys are so cool! Kensei thought to himself as he tried to hold back the child like smile when he was receiving the letter. "Alright Sora and Laxus lets go." Kensei shouted as he began walking up the stairs towards the Raikages office.

After a couple of minutes he peaked inside the office to see a woman sitting at the desk. The office was a lot colder than downstairs and freezing compared to Sunagakure. "Alright we're back! I mean that's obvious but still. Oh and uh I got this letter from the current leader of the village." Kensei said while holding the letter like it was a dead mouse between his thumb and pointer finger.

"Nice to meet you too Sora. I'll pass on the candy though." Shikaku chuckled at her extended greeting. Inwardly though, his thoughts were a bit more paranoid. Accepting food or drink from an unknown shinobi was, at least in his perception, an incredibly bad idea. Many ninja practiced the art of poison, and a friendly offer of a poisoned drink was a preferred method of assassination for many. Even the ninja eating or drinking the same food was never a guarantee, since most who used poison regularly built up immunities to their preferred types. Of course, Shikaku didn't expect the girl in front of him to be trying to kill him, but his policy had always been that it was better to be paranoid, than dead. It'd gotten him a few odd looks over the last few years, since he started his training, but he didn't mind that.

"So, are you turning in a mission?" he asked, trying to stop any awkward silences from forming with a simple conversation, but it was at that moment that the receptionist called over to him, and pointed out the guard beside him in the process. "Ah, sorry, I've gotta take care of this." he said, waving to Sora as he turned away, yanking the wires to pull his large prisoner along over to the guard, and idly noting that the man was putting up a bit more of a struggle than he had up to now. Well, that was understandable.

"This man was caught picking pockets in the market." Shikaku spoke, looking at the faceless man before him, honestly a tad bit nervous. That was the goal of the masks though, right? "I was assigned a mission to track a pickpocket in the area and bring him here, so, here I am." with that, Shikaku pushed the pickpocket in front of him, for the ANBU to see. Before turning him over though, he quickly undid the knot holding his wires in place and flipped the catch on his glove to reel it all back in. He may be working for the village, but he wasn't going to give up the wire he'd paid his last copper for. The ANBU, for his part, quickly bound the guy again with some sort of seal, so it was alright.

Having left most of the man's loot on him, when asked for evidence he only had to turn in the package he had taken from the man originally. Since he'd jumped out so quick, the boy hadn't had the chance to see what was inside, which was unfortunate, but probably didn't matter much. A couple minutes later, the fat thief was gone, and the boy was left standing there with a small sack of gold in his hand. More money than he'd ever made at once before in his life, and for performing a relatively simple job at that! It was... Awesome, simply put.

Before he could consider leaving to go spend it, or show it off if he could find Timmy to do so however, he remembered the last bit of his instructions. Turn in the pickpocket, and then see the raikage... Given the other things that jounin, - Nagisa, was it? - had said, he wasn't looking forward to that meeting. But, trying to skip it would likely be even worse for him, so... Moving over to the now clear receptionist, as the previous team had long since gone upstairs, he decided to get it over with. "I was told to see the raikage after my mission..." he spoke simply, hoping that was enough, since he really had no idea what was going on here.

Not feeling offended at all, Sora smoothly drew back the bag of candy she offered and put it back into its original location. She nodded at Shikaku's question and was about to explain in detail. However, her voice was interrupted by the receptionist. Then, as she patiently waited for Shikaku's business to be done, Kensei called her over. "See you!" the girl called behind her to the other genin as she pranced after her teammates to the Raikage's office. Her speed remained controlled and restrained as it always was despite her excitable personality.

Upon reaching the office, she skidded to a controlled halt right behind Kensei, and unable to restrain herself from having some fun now that she was back home (even if it wasn't the most polite thing to do), she peeked around his back into the freezing office.User Image

" Odd. " Laxus said as the ANBU made the letter pop. He understood that it was for security reasons, but what was with the pop? Surely it could have had a more serious sound effect, or have been silent. The technique obviously wouldn't have been possible to use on the field. As such, it was useless for Laxus to bother learning it at some point. " As you wish fearless leader. " Laxus said playfully as he followed behind Sora. It was actually kind of nice to see that she had resumed her perky personality once they had returned to the village.

" Ah, this place feels so much better than that village out in the desert. " Laxus said as he stopped slightly behind Sora, careful not to invade her personal space. He decided it would be best to remain still this time, and simply leaned his back against the wall. Picking up his foot he placed it on the wall as well and crossed his arms. Looking down and closing his eyes, he gave the appearance of someone who was either taking a nap, or thinking to themselves as they waited for someone to address them. In reality, he was actually listening to the conversation that was soon to ensue. He'd soak up the information, and hopefully learn a bit.

Raikage
Natsumi Rei
--------------------------------
A tall skinny ANBU Officer snatched Kensei's wrist as he moved to crack the door open and peek on the Raikage. His wiry appearance was one thing, but his grip showed he wasn't as weak as he looked. The ANBU had been instructed to make sure noone enters until the Kage invited them in. They understood that the Raikage could be looking over top secret documents/objects, and also that an uninvited guest meant trouble. They were not yet aware that it would also cause trouble if someone saw the kage role traded between Nagisa and Nishiko.

When the boy spoke however, making a less than formal call out, the Raikage shouted to enter. The ANBU slid into the darkness without a word as the other team members climbed the stairs. As soon as they were all in the room they would find the office looking far more organized than before, and that not a speck of dust decorated even one corner of the room. It had been recently cleaned and re-sound proofed, something which it had needed greatly. The Raikage, who sat staring through the shroud on her Kage cap spoke simply. "You have not had time to learn the new procedure, so I will tell you. First you inform the secretary of your arrival. She will inform me, who will tell her when you can come up. You wait in the reception office until she says you can come up. You knock first and wait to be invited in. The previous Kages were too willing to let someone enter the office without warning, but that is a security hazard and leads to information leaks." She paused and let the words soak in. Everyone in the group would be expected to know after they left this room. They wouldnt see it, but a smile crossed the womans face. She was beginning to enjoy being the demanding b***h of a Raikage. Nagisa never seemed to enjoy the role, but Nishiko was becoming Natsumi Rei. Married into the wealthy Rei family, trained by Nagisa the Aburame clan head, and Raikage of the iron fist. "Now tell me what happened."

-----------------------------------

The receptionist looked up to the boy with a frown. "Look you aren't the only one who needs to see her and there are others waiting." She looked down the list of waiting visitors. Damn, no ninja. "Alright, shinobi get priority but her time is precious. Also her meeting will probably take some time." Her hand pushed a button which would alert the Raikage to a low priority visitor waiting. "You will wait down here until I say you can go up."

"Well my wrist is probably broken thanks to that...Oh! You meant with the mission. Yeah the 'susbstitute' Kazekage David, currently has Jishaku held prisoner for interrogation purposes." Kensei said while he was looking around the office. "But Jishaku was powerful. He destroyed the Kazekage tower and destroyed the entire area like it was nothing. While we were fighting he just kept egging David on. It's still bothering me as to why he was there in the first place. First he attacks us, and then damn there destroying Sunagakure. He apparently had something to do with Iwagakure being destroyed also. What do you think is going on?" Kensei asked.

Normally things like this wouldn't bother Kensei, but this is the first time this has ever happened. Kensei cleared his throat and looked at the envelope in his hand. "David also gave me this letter to give to you. Your ANBU guard already unsealed it so it's pretty safe." He slid the letter across the desk to the Raikage for her to read.
