Alex had suggested shopping, but unless there was a stall selling ties around here he really had no interest in buying anything, other then food. He tried anyways to look interested in what the the two ghouls were talking about finding to buy, hands finding there way into his pockets with his skateboard still tucked beneath one arm. Firecrackers, just by the name alone, did not sound very appealing but Alex figured he could stay a fairly safe distance away should they decide to set some off. Alright, so shopping it was! Anything to keep his mind distracted fro--- Xui wanted to talk to him. Alone. His eyes, which might have seemed a bit dazed moments before, were now blinking down at the ghoul. His mind was going a mile a minute over what she might want to talk to him about. Had Yin told her anything? He couldn't help but let his eyes flicker over to the weremantis as a feeling of dread began to fill the pit of his stomach. "I...uh..yes, of course, Xui." He gave a very forced smile then moved towards her, ready to follow to wherever she wanted to talk.

Fear not, Alex--you weren't in trouble. Probably not, at least. As the zomboil accepted her request, Xiu murmured a polite "excuse us" to the others before ushering Alex a fair distance away. Enough so that they could still be seen by their friends, but not close enough so that they could be heard. The fact that Xiu kept her voice soft helped with that part as well.
Turning around, the baku wrung her hands in front of herself anxiously, wondering just how to approach this topic. But for something like this...maybe she should just get straight to the point. "First off...the specifics aren't really my business, I know, but I do consider both you and Yin Cang friends--I can't help but be just a little concerned. I also couldn't help but notice that the two of you are..." Avoiding each other? Ignoring each other? "...acting very strangely today."
...That was kind of an understatement, actually. The air had been pretty heavy.
"Could it be that you two had a fight?" Or maybe it was more complicated than that, but even Xiu knew that a small argument could cause a rift between even the best of friends. ...But hold it, those bruises of Yin's weren't caused by--
...She...was a little afraid to ask about that part.Seussi I THINK I JUST TAG YOU FOR NOW, RIGHT

Alex went along with the ghoul, eyeing her apprehensively when they stopped some distance away from the others. He listened to her words to him with a pained expression, then reached a hand up to rub at his face, then push back his hair before sighing. "I guess you could say we got into a fight, yes..." How to continue with that? Even just thinking about it made his head hurt a little. He'd been thinking about it constantly since it happened and his brain needed a break. Maybe the best thing to do at this point would be to just tell Xui what happened? Maybe that would make him feel better about it...but he had a feeling she was not going to be very happy with him. "It was stupid, I don't even know how it happened. We were supposed to meet in the library and he didn't show. I looked for him all night, worried that..well, you know." He gave her a knowing stare. She knew about the hunters, better then Alex did since she'd been dealing with them longer. "I found him the next morning, in the gym, like nothing was amiss and I guess I just...I was relieved but I was so angry with him." He looked at the ground now, this was the worst part. "I tried to force him to fight me, but he wouldn't fight back and that just made me more mad so I...I just lost control and attacked him." He suddenly realized how that must sound, considering how Yin looked and he backtracked a little, stammering out "B-but I didn't do that to him! His face I mean..I stopped myself before I hurt him too much. ... Well, at least I don't think..." his voice trailed off. He looked seriously miserable. Bringing this all up back to the surface was actually making him feel worse rather then better. "I did apologize but uh..then I kindof..ran away." Figuratively speaking of course, Alex couldn't run if his life depended on it. He coughed up a bitter laugh "Well, ran in that I left him there afterwards. I haven't talked to him since and I don't know how I can. How can he possibly even want to talk to me? I just..I ruined everything." Way to pour your heart out, Alex~

While Xiu and Alex separated from them to have a chat, Mort wondered idly what the consequences or seeing fireworks would be. It wasn't like he could see well in these old prescription glasses, getting a milky and blurry view of anything beyond two handspans from his face; and this was proven when he tried to reach for what he thought was a pygmy dragon, but was in fact just a spotted rock.
Once again pulling his hand out faster than a Swift Strike FEAR, Mort used it to rub the back of his neck, that self-conscious tic that had been waiting for Yin to fill the silence. When he only offered his name, the zomboil was resigned to speak. And really, he knew he should - this wasn't any way to be treating a new student. This was a horrible first impression he was giving. "W-Wasn't here last year, so not know if was 'nother like," Mort told the demoness, having some trouble looking her completely in the eye (sometimes wavering to her smoke wisps), but at least getting better. "Know from reading manga, i-is 'round Chinese New Year." He just didn't know specifically what the festival was about in the beginning was all.

Well, wasn't this interesting. Not. Yin was pretty much not saying a word, but at least Mort was trying to put some effort into conversation. Why did that ghoul have to take Alex away? She let a small pout appear on her lips before she tried to snag another dragon... only to miss yet again. Her pout wrinkled into a scowl at the stupid things before she turned her full attention to Mort. "Manga.... that sounds... familiar. What is it?" The smoke demoness didn't read any sort of books. She only read magazines because she liked the clothing. Despite being a bit of a gamer, she had never looked at any sort of comic book in the least bit. Someone had probably told her what it was once upon a time, but now was not that time. "How long you been here at Amity Mort?" She figured he meant he wasn't here last year. And since Yin was being... well a bust, she was just basically talking to Mort. Though she glanced a few times over at Xiu and Alex. What were they talking about? Michi was just itching to go over and crash whatever private little conversation they had going on. Partly because she wanted to know what was being said, but mostly because she wanted Alex's attention. All of his attention. Hrmmm, wasn't that an interesting train of thought? Her gaze could be found a little odd, considering her thoughtful glances at Alex's back.

Xiu kept quiet the whole time he was speaking, keeping her face as passive and neutral as she could. Of course, there were certain points--like that mention of attacking Yin--that sent a jolt of alarm through the petite ghoul, but she quickly settled down as Alex clarified that he wasn't responsible for their friend's--stress on the their--broken nose.
Or. Uh. At least, he didn't think he was? ...
The baku looked troubled at the zomboil's words, pressing her hand to her cheek as she stared up at him thoughtfully. Finally, she offered him a small smile. "I don't know, Alex. If you ask me, Yin Cang probably wants to patch up your relationship as much as you do." Really, they were too good of friends to let something like this break them apart. "I think...you know what, hold on a sec, okay?"
Xiu gave him another smile before promptly trotting off, heading back towards where the others were. She greeted them all with a brief nod before, without warning, wrapping her fingers firmly around Yin's wrist. "I'm sorry Mort, Michi. Excuse us for just a second." With that--and while ignoring any possible complaints or protests from Yin--she pulled the boil over to where Alex stood. Dropping his wrist, she took a small step back so that she wasn't smack dab in the middle of the two (granted that with her height, they would have been able to see and hold a conversation over her head anyways...but that wasn't the point).
"Avoiding each other isn't going to fix anything." Clasping her hands behind her back, Xiu looked between the two boils, and then presented them with a question. "Are either of you still mad at each other?"

Alex couldn't even muster up a smile for the petite demon ghoul as she tried to tell him that Yin probably still wanted to be friends. There was a chance that he did, but did Alex feel like he deserved that friendship anymore? To be honest, at this point, he didn't. This wasn't even to mention the fact that he had left a big thing out of what had happened between him and Yin, though this was only because it was something absolutely nobody knew, except Alex himself, and he did not at all want to even think about it anymore, let alone talk about it. Ah, teenage drama~ When Xui told him she would be right back, he cringed, tempted to reach out and grab her before she could run back off towards the weremantis. Did they have to do this here, right now? Was this really the best time? He guessed it was sort of putting a dampener on the festivities...but he could always just leave and that would take care of that just as well, would it not? It wasn't long before she was back, with Yin in tow. Alex was busy studying the ground again. It really was such an interesting ground! But slowly he somehow managed to raise his eyes to the other boil, his eyes just as full of pain as they were that morning in the gym before he left Yin there all alone. He was faintly aware of Xui saying something, and he tried to concentrate on that, instead of how horrible Yin looked, and how much he wanted to destroy whoever did that to his best friend. Concentrating was proving to be very difficult. Finally Xui's words sank in, and Alex quickly shook his head. "No..no! Of course not I wasn't...I'm not mad." he said firmly, his eyes were wanting to drop to the ground again but he wouldn't let them. He just had to..look Yin in the eye and let the other boil know that everything could still be fine.

When Miss Xiu-Ying grabbed his wrist Yin cringed, but out of respect for the ghoul did not resist. As he was pukled over to Alexander he felt much as an animal must when it was being led to the slaughter. He soon found himself in a similar situation as thet had been in the other morning. Yin looked up at the taller boil, forcing himself to meet the other's eyes. And Alexander claimed not to be mad. He shook his head slightly. "Before you make such a decision I must apologize. I am at fault for this happening. It is true I was concerned for Miss Danny that evening. I know you do not get along well with her, but she is also my friend and I was worried. I know not if this matters but I did not find her that evening. I was distracted and forgot our meeting, when I should have taken care of my previous obligations first. You had every right to be angry with me and I cannot blame you for it. However, if knowing this you are still not angry with me I would be very pleased."He spoke quickly, trying not to give anyone a chance to interrupt. At some point yet been forced to look away from Alexander's eyes, instead choosing to focus on his left ear. This speech finished his nerves began to take over and he stood there trying to remember to relax and breathe, waiting for the verdict.

Was Alex still angry? He couldn't really fault Yin for being worried about one of his own friends (though Alex was perplexed as to why Yin would think he and Danny didn't get along. Sure she scared him most of the time, but he had actually sat and had conversation with her once). Alex had also had time to get over Yin ditching him, though being ditched and then forgotten about completely still stung a tiny bit. But was he still angry? Of course not. He was ashamed, a little hurt, and frankly, quite miserable. But no, not angry, not even in the slightest. So he said as much. "Yin..I'm not angry with you. I know I can't even ever come close to being able to make things up to you though. I did a horrible thing, and all because I couldn't control myself.." He gritted his teeth at the memory of lunging at Yin, at attempting to crush him beneath his hands. "I shouldn't have run away afterwards, and maybe one day I'll be able to explain why I did, but for now I just..can't. Just, please do not apologize to me anymore. I'm tired of you apologizing every time I do something wrong." Ok, he was getting a little worked up again, time to breathe. Just breathe and relax. It took him a moment, but he was able to calm down again. And then he smiled, tentatively. Just try and make it ok..."Still friends?"

Xiu had stepped back and turned her back to the pair to let them have their talk, giving them a little bit of privacy (even though she could still hear them). Still, she tried her best to tune them out, glancing about idly at the booths and--ah, did Alex just ask if they were still friends? The baku perked up at this and, despite her best efforts, couldn't resist turning around to look at them as she waited for Yin's answer. Had they patched up their friendship?

Yes, it seemed like they had. If Alex and Yin were to turn to look at her, they would find the little baku positively beaming at them, hands clasped in front of her. However, instead of commenting on how glad she was to see things resolved, she simply asked, "Ready to head back to Mort and Michi?"

'Of course.' That's all it was, just an agreement that they could still be friends and suddenly Alex felt a million times better. Suddenly he had hope that things could move forward. When Yin reached out to put his hand on Alex's shoulder, he may have appeared shocked at first, but then he grinned, his eyes lighting up with their usual joy, a joy that had been lost but was now back again, just as simple as that. And then Xui was there, and Alex realized that they weren't alone, and a sudden warmth spread up the back of his neck as he pulled away from the warmth of Yin's hand on his shoulder, and nodded. "Yes, of course. I hope they aren't too mad that we left them.." His gaze drifted towards his other two friends still standing over by the dragon pet booth. Michi looked incredibly unimpressed. This was..not so good. He grimaced, giving Yin a look that said 'somebody help me please.' before starting to walk back towards the red demoness and the zomboil, plastering his face with a large smile, though he felt incredibly apprehensive as he approached them. "By the way, Yin." He hissed out the corner of his mouth. "You're going to have to tell me who did that to your face, later." As he said it, he was already imagining in his mind what he was going to do to that person.

Yin was walking beside the zomboil toward the others and shook his head at the comment, a determined look in his eye. "That fight is finished, and what needs to be dealt with I can handle on my own. You should not trouble yourself." But as they drew closer to Mort and Alexander's...friend...Yin slowed down, using the excuse that he was turning to make sure Miss Xiu-Ying was with them to let the zomboil arrive ahead of himself. He held back from the rest for just a moment to try to talk to her briefly. "Thank you Miss Xiu-Ying," he told her as he gave her a slight bow. "What you have done today means a great deal to me." And now it was time to rejoin the group, and hope that the rest of the festival could carry on without a hitch.

Unimpressed was such a lacking word. Michi stood there, idly watching the dragons as two people stood to the side and talked, and then as the other ghoul dragged Yin along too. This left Michi feeling rather... annoyed. She had no idea what was going on between them all, all the red skinned ghoul knew was that something was going on that was so important it had to be handled now. And she was not to be involved in any sort of manner. No this is what we called a pissed off Michi who was thinking about bailing. Her bright blue eyes were gazing from the dragons to other various booths with her lips thinned down as far as they could go. One foot tapped a fast paced beat on the ground. She sighed as whatever drama unfolded over to the side, and looked back to the dragons. This... this was boring. And then the trio started coming back, with smiles plastered on their faces. This only proceeded to annoy Michi a bit more, feeling as if she had missed something awesome in all of this and she would probably not ever find out. Ugh, could the festival be over now. She pulled out her eyephone to gaze at the time and sighed at how many minutes were left in the day. She debated whether she should say anything, or ignored them as she had been ignored. What to do? "I think I wanna do some shopping." She turned and proceed to go to some of the stalls with various items. Easy to anger, Michi was. She began to poke through some random things in stalls. If they followed, they followed. If not, well she could wander back to her dorm easily. Her blue nails poked at a few pieces of jewelry before she bought a gold and red necklace that went with the theme of the day. Well, that didn't make her feel better.
