 Ren Autumn "The soon to be God of Autumn" Geo Branch - University student Profile Out by the waters edge sat a young man, and all around him laid a patch of jack-o-lanterns facing in every direction. Ren looked over the clam lake, waiting for something to happen "I do hope I get to see the spirit that lives in the forest, the people at the market said it grants wishes, I can't wait". Ren had heard about the spirit from a group of kids hanging out around the store he goes to, and just had to find that spirit. I wounder what it looks like, he thought. "I wounder what I'll wish for, o, maybe enough money to last until I return home, or better yet, all the seafood I can eat" he said with a laugh.

Her long poncho went all the way down to her hips, and she wore a simple short deer-skin pair of shorts underneath that. Her arms, nose, cheeks, and legs had her tribal paint on it, marking her body that of a shaman, a spiritual leader. Lakota did not need giant bags like she saw humans lug around when they traveled. All she had in her bag were a few twigs and leaves, some soil, her bow, pipe, her lucky rabbit's foot, and a strand of hair that was braided using nine locks of hair, all of which belonged to her mothers. Lakota hummed a sweet tune from the back of her throat, suddenly the aura in the forest brightening up. She walked with purpose, and with a swing in her step, giving a happy and care-free aura. Lakota looked around, gently rubbing trees she passed and greeting them kindly, happy to be in this forest with spirits. She didn't seem to mind anything inside this forest. Ren Autumn "The soon to be God of Autumn" Geo Branch - University student Profile Ren leaned back against a large jack-o-lantern and looked up into the sky, getting bored he was starting to fool around with the pumpkins. He manifested three pumpkins and had them dance over the lake, at least until the pumpkins blew up and the guts spilled over the lake. "well that was kinda fun". He sighed and continued to wait for the spirits of the forest. ((man, I have no clue what to write, and sorry for the wait))

Lakota stopped her humming and sucked in a breathe of surprise. In the name of the ancestral spirits, it was a male boy. She peeked from behind the tree to look at him, her eyes curious.
It wasn't like she hadn't seen a male before. But she didn't get to see one often. And...She hadn't been this close. Like...ever. Lakota took a tiny step forward and all the sudden she felt the grassy forest floor tickle the ends of her toes, encouraging her. She smiled kindly and gently knocked on the bark of a tree to get his attention, partially hiding her body behind it.
Lakota was hoping he would be anything, but repulsed. In a way, Lakota looked like a child. She was only 4'7", which was virtually the size of a child. It was quite obvious that she in fact was not one because of her features, and slim curvaceous body. She smiled awkwardly and gently rubbed the bark of the tree for comfort, the tree whispering things into her ear the comforted her as well. Ren Autumn "The soon to be God of Autumn" Geo Branch - University student Profile Ren heard the slight knock, and when he leaned back further he caught a glimpse of a young girl. He quickly tried to get to his feet, but on the way up he manged to trip a couple of times and squishing some of the surrounding jack-o-lanterns. After a few seconds of struggling to get pumpkin guts off his hands he turned and smiled, rubbing the back of his neck, a bit embarrassed. "Hi" he said waving shyly. ((I'm so bad at this XD, I can barely get out a small paragraph, and even when I do, it sounds horrible crying ))

Lakota's eyes widened slightly with him falling on the pumpkins. She was worried for both him and the pumpkins for a moment before he got up, signaling he was okay. She smiled kindly and nodded, stepping a little out so he could see her better. "Salutations. My name is Lakota Onundaga'ono Mbukushu Kipungu Luchazi Banyambo Gaola Ijo Tikar Faawa Hopi. Very nice to meet you, mister." She gave him a bright smile and laughed happily, her eyes gently grazing over where he was currently was. She tucked a strand of her brown hair behind her ear and then asked, "Could....I ask your name?" She gulped a little nervously, stepping out completely so she was standing just a few feet away from him. Ren Autumn "The soon to be God of Autumn" Geo Branch - University student Profile Ren's face became flushed as Lakota came into clear view, what should I say, he thought. As he began to speak he chose each word with care "my.. name is umm ... Ren... Ren Autumn" he quickly looked to the side as he spoke his full name. He had seen many woman on his travels, but none seemed to give off such an earthy vibe as the one who stood before him. He tried laughing a little, hoping to calm down. Trying his hand at starting a conversation, he could still not keep himself from being embarrassed "that's a lovely name by the way, is there a story behind it" ((it felt so weird to write this, but I need to step out of my comfort zone (which is mostly fights, and the strong silent type) but this just feels weird XD ))

Lakota's eyes widened at his name, and she giggled again sweetly. "Ren Autumn. You have a really beautiful name, Mister Ren Autumn." Lakota nodded in agreement with herself and smile again, feeling comfortable around this male. When he asked about her name, she brightened up and reached into her back, pulling out the neatly braided long locks of hair that was tied together. She hugged it and looked down at the braided locks of hair. "I was born in Southern Africa. I had nine mothers, and they all gave me a middle name. I carry this around to remember them. I really do love my parents, hehe." Latoka shrugged and put her locks of braided hair back in her tiny bag, feeling a little more comfortable and getting about two paces closer to him. "Could i ask about your name, Mister Ren Autumn? Oh! Is it alright if i call you that? I don't want to be impolite."
Her toes wiggled curiously, and the grass curled around her toes. The bright sienna anklet she had on had been vined around by grass, the forest flourishing with the Shaman in their presence.
Latoka's eyes weren't judgemental in any way. Never once had she taken in the boy's spirit, or his race, or the way he looked. She thought he was like every single living thing in the forest, beautiful. "Beautiful." She said kindly, running her hands through the bark of a tree before looking back at him from the corner of her eye. She smiled gently and ran her hand along her tribal paint for a few moments before breathing in and taking the scent of the forest into her lungs.

Ren Autumn "The soon to be God of Autumn" Geo Branch - University student Profile "that's fine, but you don't have to be so formal, Ren is fine" He said as he continued to rub the back of his neck. Ren had started to feel a bit more at ease with talking to the girl "that's a wonderful story". He was a bit curious as to how someone could have nine mothers, but thought it would be impolite to ask. "well, my first name is the same as my father" he felt a bit hesitant to speak about his mother, but for some reason he wanted to. "And my mother, is, well... the goddess of autumn, so that's how I got my last name" he once again felt his face begin to blush as he spoke. ((thanks ^_^ ))

Lakota listened and nodded occasionally as he spoke, and smiled happily when he finished his story. "You have a wonderful history, Ren." When she heard that his mother was the goddess of autumn, she popped up like a spark. "Oh my! That's really unique! You must be really strong and powerful. It's an honor." Lakota bowed her head and got down on her knees, gently kissing the ground below him. She kept on her knees and looked up at him. "You're really special, Ren. I like you. You're the first male i've talked to ever since I came here from Southern Africa. I'm glad i met you first!" Lakota kindly smiled up at him, and then bowed her head once more. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but do you live near here, Ren? The plants and animals here seem accustomed to your presence. I....Um...Just moved here. I'm a college first year." Lakota looked up at him, blushing slighty. She realized she looked more like a 10 year old that had curved out a little early.

Ren Autumn "The soon to be God of Autumn" Geo Branch - University student Profile Ren felt even more embarrassed " I really am nothing special, I'm guaranteeing you, and I'm not really powerful" he could not explain it quick enough, he thought, why did I have to walk about my mother, this always happens. He got down to his keens and looked at her and smiled "I... um, like you too" he then stammered as his entire face became red, "I'm sure we will be good friends" he said trying to recover from what he considered a socially awkward situation. He let out a sigh and calmed himself. He had not noticed the spirits of the forest, then again he had not been gifted with the power to see nature spirits, at least not until he took over his mothers job. "well I live around here, I can't really go back to the dorms, I told a few people about my mother, and now they case me, trying to do who knows what" He felt a bit disappointed that he could not stand up to the pack of girls who was chasing him. "but if you want I can show you the way to the dorms" he said trying to regain some sense of dignity.

Lakota looked him in the eye as he spoke to her, and she blushed very slightly as he got so close. Unfortunately, she wasn't that comfortable being this close to a grown male. She backed away slightly and smiled weakly, before giggling and getting up. When he said that he liked her too, Lakota brightened up and smiled. "Would you really do that for me, Ren? Thank you so much!" She giggled and jumped up, running over to a nearby tree and hugging it. "You hear that, everyone? I made a friend! Say hello to Ren, guys~" All the sudden, the animals and plants in the forest flourished. Birds chirped happily, the grass curled around Ren and Lakota's feet happily, and the trees seemed to sway with a few flowers and particles of grass. Lakota couldn't also help but feel a little bad for him as well. She understood that because of his mother, he would be often treated in a way way he didn't want to be treated. Lakota put a gentle, small hand on her chest and breathed in. She looked back at Ren and smiled kindly. "You're a wonderful person, Ren. Your origin doesn't matter to me. You could be human, or nymph, or god. I think you're great, because you're really sweet and you choose to spend your time with nature, rather than the people who choose to flaunt over you. I, and everyone here appreciates it." Latoka giggled and got a little closer to him, getting up on her tippy toes and ghosting her lips over his overhead, giving him a touch to let all his woe and worry go away, and lift all disappointment off of his shoulders. She stepped back and twirled happily, her toe gently digging into the dirt. She looked back up at him and gave him a caring smile. "A crown, if it hurts us, is not worth wearing."

Ren Autumn "The soon to be God of Autumn" Geo Branch - University student Profile Ren had no clue as to do next, only that he had never been this happy around someone before, usually he was running from people who where trying to use him, he never knew someone who did not care about his origin. feeling a bit better, he stood up and smiled at Lakota "nature sure can be a lot more friendly than people". Ren thought for a second about that last remark and came up with a suitable response " even if the crown may hunt us, even if it is not worth wearing, someone must take the responsibility, but sometimes it is much like a curse, so many expectations, and so many chances to fail" he let out a saddening sigh before he riled up his spirit and tried to think positive, "so what shall we do now" he asked. ((sorry it took so long, and that's its crummy, I've all but spent my creative juices on making a new character XD ))

Lakota then did something very....unexpected. She turned and gently thumped her foot on the ground. Like a drum, a beat could be heard. Softly.....but then little louder. This continued for a few seconds before it suddenly stopped. She smiled and walked over to him, poking him in the head. Surely now, he could see it. The spirits of the forest. One could say, she gave him an Ancestor's touch, to be able to see the spirits of this forest, and this forest only. The spirits of this forest did not have a gender, as so many forest spirits didn't. They simply had orbs and blobs of energy, that surrounded every living thing in the forest, including the animals.
She got a tiny bit closer to him and mumbled sweetly, ""Each one should remember there is not one, but many chances for him. Oncechance...is all you need, hehe. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. It is far, far, much more than that, Ren!. I've learned, in my many years of living that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become. Don't worry about others, silly! Do what makes you happy. Life is a long, long path, covered with many struggles. And if you are walking that path, and happen to fall, or to hurt yourself...or someone else...Life is sorrow. Overcome it. Life is a struggle. Accept it. And know, that there are others who can help you overcome."
Lakota let out a tiny, light-hearted giggle after her words. Her tone was light, and caring. Normally, you would expect when people told you such words, their tone yes, would be light, but you could tell they were telling you something important. Their tone held importance. And yet, Lakota's tone was the exact same tone she used with everyone. Not an ounce of a difference. She spoke to him in a friendly voice, not at all motherly. Her eyes did not hold any judgement whatsoever. Nor sorrow. There was only kindness in her bright green eyes. She looked him straight in the eyes as she spoke, every single word accentuated perfectly, because Lakota had so much time, and so many chances to tell so many other people these words. People who needed it. People who were like Ren.
She let out a content sigh, and smiled widely at Ren. "Dorms, you mentioned? "

Ren Autumn "The soon to be God of Autumn" Geo Branch - University student Profile Ren looked at all of the spirits and listened to Lakota's words. He felt a bit ashamed, letting others control him like they had, pushing it away from himself, he slowly got back to his feet. "thanks Lakota, I needed that, so what if I become a god someday, for right now, all I want to do is have fun and become stronger..." he smiled and once again looked back at all the forest spirits "... so I can protect everything dear to me". Looking back to Lakota he held out his hand to her, "right, the dorms, I can show you anytime you like"((sorry once again for the wait and poor quality XD))
