The creature snarled again, fur bristled in anger. It didn't seemed to be interested in what Shun was saying or at least didn't understand.
"I don't think its listening," Mitsu stood to her feet, her crimson eyes watching the creature intently. It wasn't huge but it was still big enough to cause damage.
When it seemed to two intruding creatures weren't going to leave on their own after the threatening noises and snapping of teeth, the badger put plan b into operation. It charged forward, claws swiping at legs, its teeth snapping at anything that came into range. The badger was a ball of rage so it was either very territorial or it was protecting something.

"Yeah, doesn't seem like it," Shun murmured before quickly shifting back as it charged. He didn't have much room to maneuver, so he ended up getting swiped in the leg.
"Kusooo..." he hissed out in pain before slashing at the beast to keep it back. Or try to.
"Alright. Back out," he grumbled, not happy about being pushed out of this hole.

Mitsu had let out a surprised yelp as soon as the badger charged, backing out of the cave quickly and into the pouring rain. It took no time for her hair to get plastered to her face, a hand coming up to shield her eyes from the stinging rain drops.
"Shun?! Are you okay?" She hadn't gone far, which was probably her first mistake. The badger was initially driven back by Shun's swiping attack with his daggers. The creature hissed puffing up to make itself look bigger. If it could have been any madder Shun had apparently made it so but since the reaper was the one with the weapon the badger decided to aim for the more vulnerable of the two, sprinting out of the cave and lunging at Mitsu.
Mitsu let out a shriek, clutching her bag to her chest as she scrambled out of the way, her feet having a hard time finding purchase on the now slick ground. Her free hand clawed at the earth as she nearly fell over making her way back toward the look out point. It was the clearest path, everything else hard to see with the thick downpour. The running seemed to trigger a reaction and the badger gave chase, keeping close to Mitsu's heels, teeth and claws just missing her. If it hadn't been for the rain Mitsu would have surely outran it but she was stumbling and flailing all over the place.

Hissing a little more as those claws stung like hell, he quickly backed on out of the cave, slipping a bit once he was outside.
"I'm fine!" he called out to her while keeping his attention on the badger. Shun now had a slight limp to his movements, but he wasn't going to let that deter him too much if possible. His focus right now was to get the badger off their back.
Sliding off towards the side to put a bit of distance between them, he flung one of his daggers at the creature. It wasn't easy to aim with the wall of water all around them.

The badger had just managed to grab hold of Mitsu's pant's leg with a snap of its teeth, its jaw clenching down like a vise. Digging its feet into the ground it came to a complete stop and began to thrash its head like a dog playing with a toy, tripping up Mitsu entirely. She had barely made it passed the line of trees to the cliff side when she met the ground, her bag sliding away from her and over the edge as she tried to brace herself for the fall. This was not where they had been before. She had gotten mixed up in her directions (big surprise) and found a steeper drop the lead right into the river below. The water was high and rushing furiously from the continuous rain, churning dangerously around the rocks that made up the rapids.
There was another startled yelp as the badger dug its claws into her leg, its mouth opening to release her pant's leg in preparation for biting down on her calf. Mitsu was prepared to kick but the action wasn't entirely needed as Shun's blade sliced across the creature's coat making it recoil in pain. It shrieked loudly, mouth opened threateningly as it turned toward the reaper and lunged at his legs, claws reaching to grab hold of the calf muscle.

Running back to keep up with Mitsu, Shun soon realized that they had gone a different way from where they had come. It didn't matter though, he'd figure out where they needed to go once they lost the badger.
Letting out a cry of pain as his leg took another hit, he staggered back. It was getting really hard to move around with the injury and with all the mud that had quickly built up in the storm. Though he was standing relatively still, he was still sliding just from putting his weight down.
Stabbing down, he tried to ward it off with his remaining dagger, not quite realizing how close he was starting to get towards the edge here.

The badger reared back, taking another hit across its face. It roared in anger, pawing at the injury shortly like it was trying to push something away from its face. After a shake of its head it snarled, the look in its eyes saying it was out for blood. While the two legged creatures were having trouble standing it had a fairly solid hold on the ground despite the mud. It was low to the ground and its claws were long enough to give it grip.
Shifting this way and that it looked like the badger was looking for an opening and when it thought it had it the beast lunged, jumping to hopefully get a bite into the arm that held Shun's dagger.
"S..Shun!" Mitsu was still struggling to get to her feet, her heart racing so fast she could hear her blood rushing in her ears. It was hard to see passed the rain and now mud in her eyes but it looked like Shun was getting close to the edge. "It's not safe!"

Shun tried to get out of the way of the attack, but as he tried to dodge to the side, he only ended up slipping in place. As the badger lunged, he brought his arms up, feeling the teeth sink into his flesh. Gritting his teeth, he fell back from the momentum. He tried to right himself as well as maybe fling the badger away, but the ground gave way under him.
And thus he slipped right off the edge.
Quickly realizing he was falling, he glanced to the side, spotting a ledge of sorts. Reacting swiftly, he shadow stepped over to it. But, between the short time span, and the low visibility, his aim was a bit off. He ended up crashing right into the dirt wall above the ledge headfirst, effectively knocking himself out.

The badger managed to sink its teeth into Shun’s arm and held on for all it was worth. It started to thrash much like it had with Mitsu’s pants leg, twisting its body in mid-air. The momentum no doubt didn’t help the reaper keep his balance though the creature wasn’t quite willing to let go even as they both went over the edge. The badger was just about to bit down harder but his teeth snapped together as the reaper’s arm suddenly vanished from between its jaws. It let out a startled noise before it plummeted into the river below, struggling against the currents.
“Shun! SHUN!!” Mitsu slide and fell on her way to the edge, her hand out stretched hoping to grab hold of Shun but he was too far out of reach. In a panic, her fear of heights was forgotten as she scrambled to the edge of the cliff and looked down unable to spot the reaper among the rocks. Frantically she searched but her eyes finally settled on the badger struggling to stay afloat in the rough currents of the river as it was pulled down stream.
“Oh jack….SHUN!” He must have fallen into the river. If he had he would drown. Mitsu knew time was of the essence but she wasn’t entirely sure how to get down. The river was littered with large rocks and debris so jumping without the risk of serious injury was impossible. It would be a wonder if Shun wasn’t completely battered and bruised.
Stumbling to her feet Mitsu hurried along the cliff’s edge looking for a way down. There was a steep slope not far off, if she could make it to that then surely she could dive in and find the reaper. Normally he sank so the river probably didn’t carry him too far, she could find him and bring him to the surface.
As fast as her feet would carry her she ran, sliding and slipping the whole way. She cleared a large fallen tree by jumping over it but the ground she landed on was unstable at best. The rain had soaked in making the loose top soil nothing more than mush. Mitsu tried to take another step but the ground gave way and not just a little bit of ground a large portion of it.
With a scream she went careening down the hill side along with the mud and debris, the large fallen tree falling right behind her. Tumbling head over heels Mitsu was unable to dictate where she was going to land. She could barely tell what was happening in general and only noted where she was going to end up when she suddenly felt water pressing in around her. The werewolf had barely been able to take a breath, the river instantly jerking her forward before she had time to right herself. For the longest few seconds of her life she was flailing underwater with no idea where the surface was. She couldn’t see through the murky water and she was being thrown about like a rag doll.
When she thought for certain she was going to drown, the burning in her lungs telling her she needed air, her head popped up above the surface. With a quick intake of breath Mitsu began to paddle but the currents were far stronger than she realized. Even being a strong swimmer she had no real choice but to go where the river was taking her.
“Shun! SHU-!” The river sucked her under again, her hands desperately gripping and clawing at whatever was near. They scrapped across rock and pulled large chunks of bark free from fallen trees but nothing was helping to slow her down. She was completely at the mercy of the raging river, dipping down and being thrown about in the mini rapids, being slammed into rocks and dragged through masses of branches. Her whole body was in pain, a throbbing ache that radiated through her entire person every time she hit something.
Once again she was able to surface, coughing up the water she had managed to inhale while trying to take a breath. There was still a faint hope that Shun was close by, that if she tried enough she could find him. He was alive; she couldn’t let him die here. Not like this. She needed to watch his back. She needed to-
Apparently watch her own back. The river had turned her about so she couldn’t see what was coming. The large tree that had fallen in with her had been swept up the river but was now lodged between two boulders. Before she knew it Mitsu was wading through a battle zone of rocks and broken branches. The currents took her under again, which turned out to be for the better since the tree was blocking the way. She was just passed some of the larger branches when she felt a sharp pain to her gut. The force of the water pushed her forward and the slicing pain intensified until she realized she wasn’t moving anymore. The river was pushing against her but she was stuck in her current position. Ignoring the pain she felt Mitsu began to wiggle, gripping whatever was holding her in place and using every bit of strength she had to crush it. At first her fingers did nothing more than bite into wood but eventually the branch holding her in place snapped and Mitsu went rushing forward as if tossed out the flood gates.
The lycan was thrown about under water again, rotating head over heels unable to stop. When she felt like her body was going to give out because she couldn’t take much more she felt the waters around her start to slow. Finally she was able to swim to the surface herself taking a much needed deep breath but realizing how painful it was to do so the instant fresh air hit her lungs. She cried out struggling even now in the calmer currents to the river’s edge. Mitsu was just able to catch hold of a branch, keeping herself from being swept further down river. With the last of her strength she pulled herself to the shore, her arms barely able to drag her to safety. When she was free of the river she could see the problem. Sticking out of her side was a branch, still deeply lodged through her middle. The pain was almost blinding and she didn’t dare to touch it. Instead she collapsed on her uninjured side, chest heaving despite the white hot pain. The shock of what had happened wasn’t far behind and she just barely got out Shun’s name in a struggled whisper before her eyes closed and she was out like a light.

The next time Mitsu woke she was in an unfamiliar place. She could tell by the way it smelled of blood, rubbing alcohol, and bleach. There was a terrible weight on her stomach like someone was sitting on her but when she tried to push whatever it was away there was nothing there. Finally she dared to open her eyes, the bright white of the room nearly blinding her at first. She blinked a few times trying to adjust to the sight before she started to move….
And instantly realized that was a terrible idea. She let out a cry, her arm wrapping around her torso finding the heavy bandage that had been put into place. The branch that had been in her side was gone and at first the pain had been dulled but now that she was moving she could tell she was very much still hurt. At least the bandage explained the heavy weight pressing on her.
“Woah, little lady,” A tall patchwork made his way through the door, a clean white lab coat reaching to his knees. He was swift to Mitsu’s side pushing her back down into the bed. “You shouldn’t be moving just yet. We just stitched you back up.”
With a grimace Mitsu laid back down, her head still swimming not sure what had happened. “W…where am I?”
“You’re at the FEAR clinic by the river front. One of the Rangers on patrol heard you yelling from the river and found you a little ways downstream where you washed up on shore. You were in pretty rough shape.” The doctor explained checking over Mitsu’s vitals.
“H..how long have I been here?”
“A little more than two hours I would say. You’ve been asleep for a while but it didn’t look like you had a concus-“
“Two hours?” Mitsu interrupted. The doctor nodded. “[color+#737CA1]Oh jack |

Over the past couple of hours, Shun had pretty much been completely out cold. Though, after awhile, he began to drift in and out of consciousness as his body was trying to wake back up. With his vision still a little blurry, he slowly opened his eyes, seeing green all around. His head was pounding quite a bit, making it hard for him to really think all too clearly.
Trying to move, he felt some pain shoot through his arm and leg, forcing him back down for the moment. Right. Vaguely, he recalled fighting a badger.
The Reaper remained lying in what seemed like a bush for a little longer, not really feeling like moving at the moment. However, he soon realized that he didn't hear or see Mitsu anywhere around.
"Mitsu...?" he called out quietly. There was no response. With a wince, he sat up and tried to look around, but didn't see any signs of the lycan. It had at least stopped raining. It was raining earlier right? His mind was a bit foggy on all the details. With a sort of grimace, he pushed himself to his feet, leaning heavily against the wall. It seemed like his one leg had been clawed pretty good. Though, he didn't think too much on that. As once he stood up, his vision blurred and his headache grew tenfold worse.
Groaning, he clutched his head until the pain faded off.
"Mitsu..." he called out again, only to be met with more silence. The girl couldn't have gotten too far, right?
Looking down, he noticed he was still about ten feet above the river bank. As carefully as he could, he tried to hop down, but only ended up stumbling upon his landing. Normally, he would have been able to make that jump, but between his head and his leg, that just wasn't happening here. There, he laid on the ground for a little longer, finding it hard to focus his strength together to keep moving.

Stumbling to the edge of the river Mitsu began her search. She scored the length of the bank with her eyes hoping to see something; any sign of the reaper what so ever. If she was lucky perhaps he had just been injured and was waiting here and had been overlooked in the meantime.
“Shun?” Her voice wasn’t as strong as it should have been, her legs a bit weak as she continued to stand in one place. She couldn’t hear him, see him, smell him, or even sense him. It was always a subtle feeling but she always knew when he was there. She could feel him like he was a part of her but now…now she felt nothing. Was he just too far away? Or was he….gone?
No..
NO!
She would not allow herself to think like that. He was somewhere. He had to be. “Shun!” She started to walk, heading back up the river to where she had fallen in. Hopefully she would find some sign of him along the way. Anything to know he was alright.
The path wasn’t the clearest along the river now that the storm had blown through. Fallen trees and branches were all over the place making it hard to maneuver and Mitsu was finding it harder and harder to walk straight. Her vision was a little blurry and unfocused, the scenery wavering before her eyes. Stumbling again she stopped and tried to clear her head, her body suddenly feeling heavy. The pain she had been feeling was dulling to an ache instead of a stabbing pain, a pleasant numbest taking over her limbs.
Mitsu?
She had heard the voice, she could have sworn. It was faint and yet it was there. Looking up she searched the forest for the source of that familiar voice but all she saw were shadows playing across her vision. Her breathing picked up as her search intensified, running through the woods in a clumsy way. “Shun?”
Mitsu?
She heard it again. His voice sounded so far away and yet she could hear it like he was close. Was she dreaming? Just imagining it? She wanted so much to believe he was there and maybe that was why she started to see images, faint glimpses of his jacket before it disappeared behind a tree, his intense gaze that soften into a slight smile before she blinked and he was gone. Her mind reeled and Mitsu leaned against a tree taking deep panting breaths. I…It was like last time. She was seeing shadows but…he wasn’t there. “SHUN?” Now she was running, fear gripping her as she ignored the tearing pain in her side.

Coughing, Shun slowly pushed himself back to his feet once again. Just like before his head burst in pain as he righted himself. He had hit his head pretty hard back there after all. Grimacing, he began to slowly limp forth. Aside from the pain, he was feeling a little chilled too from still being drenched. Not too far off, he spotted a bag by the bank. Making his way over, he realized it had belonged to Mitsu. She couldn't have gotten too far then. And thus for now, he decided to follow the river, hoping she was somewhere downstream.
Even so, he still weakly called out for her.
"Mitsu... can you hear me?" he said. With his head, it was hard for him to really shout out.
Every now and then, he was forced to stop as his head injury caused his vision to blur and the pain to intensify. He probably shouldn't be moving around like this. But he needed to find where the wolf girl went. Unfortunately there were no tracks around. If there were, they would have been washed away by the rain.
Leaning heavily against a tree, he glanced around the forested area. There still weren't any signs. The forest wasn't that dense, considering there wasn't a lot of leafy foliage, but the storm had made things a little difficult to traverse through.
"Damn badger..." he cursed under his breath as he tried to recover before pressing forth once more.

Mitsu was numb to the pain in her side as she ran, even as fresh blood broke through the bandages and started to stain her shirt. The scent would no doubt attract something but she wasn’t lingering long enough for anything to find her quickly. Madly she was searching, pausing only when she thought she saw something. A glimpse of hair, olive complexion, even daggers.
Mitsu felt like she was seeing everything and yet nothing at all. As soon as she would turn the image would be gone, it would do nothing more that taught her just outside her field of vision. It left her frantic, her heart pumping blood through her system faster than before, her head a foggy haze of thoughts and ideas.
It seemed it wasn’t long that something tripped her up; her foot snagged a root sending her to the ground rather harshly. Her clothes hadn’t exactly been clean but they were certainly muddy now as she slowly pushed her way back up. Arms were barely able to hold her weight, half lidded eyes drifting up but pausing when she thought she saw something. So close, so close she could touch him. Shun stood with his back to her, staring off into the woods. Mitsu raised a hand to him her voice struggling to work as she crawled closer. Joyful tears started to streak down her face when she managed to get to her feet and approach.
“Shun, I’ve been so worried I-“ She had reached out to touch him and that’s when the image broke. Her finger tips stroked the edge of rough bark. A tree. It wasn’t her reaper but a tree. Was she…going insane? Why was this happening again?
Her hand drawing back Mitsu wrapped her arms around herself hunching forward slightly from the pain and in an attempt to curl in on herself while still standing. It took a moment to move again, the shock of her own mind betraying her starting to seep in. Was Shun really gone? Was that why she couldn’t find him? Why she couldn’t feel him? Why his image kept taunting her?
“Shun…..where are you?”

Shun's progress through the forest was slow. He had to stop fairly frequently, and when he was moving, his leg on the rough terrain was making it difficult for him to get anywhere. Clutching onto her bag, he stumbled his way along the river. He caught no glimpses of her white hair or tail, which probably would be the first thing he'd catch sight of normally.
A part of him wondered if maybe he was going the wrong way too. Pausing by one tree, he took out his cellphone to try and see if he could get a hold of her.
Unfortunately, he had no signal here.
Cursing under his breath, he closed his eyes while resting against one of the trees. He probably should stop by the fear clinic. There was a chance she had gone there. Though, in reality, she could be anywhere in the woods. He didn't know how easily he could find her with the way he was right now.
"Where are you? Mitsu?" he called out again to no avail. Wincing as the loud speech jolted his brain, he clutched at his head once more.
