It only took moments before the creature in cage one was fully trapped, and then even fewer moments for the it to be killed. She bared her teeth in a smile that did not reach the coldness of her eyes, and tossed the grappling gun to the ground. She then proceeded to stretch out her arms, which were shaking from the effort it had taken to keep the damned thing properly restrained, and crossed her arms to rub at her shoulders. Turning away from the now empty cage, she kept herself back and out of the way as one by one the other monsters were taken down and used as weapon charging fodder.

She couldn't seen Julien anywhere, but assumed he was just in the crowd of FEAR hunters awaiting his turn to charge his weapon.

Eventually the muscle spasms in her arms ceased, and she was able to pick up the gun she had let fall to the ground before, keeping a close watch on whether she would be needed anywhere else.

"It's where all the monsters come from, right? I mean ... the ones who are going in there are going to their home ground." She shuddered slightly, then was forced to turn her attention back to the cage for a moment as the creature made another bid for freedom. It's eyes were really creepy. She should probably stop staring at them...

"It's probably all dark and creepy and scary... " For a while, she had wished she got to be one of the lucky ones with a Fear weapon but now. Now she was glad that she didn't have one. No way did this little Hunter want to go to scary-land.

Targeting Cage 5

He'd listened silently to what the head of the Death Division said. And felt his gut tighten. Both with a semblance of fear and a resigned acceptance of what they were about to face. Lex was indeed bothered by what Liam spoke. That these Four Clans could possibly succeed! Bah! He would not allow it. No Hunter would. Thus, the reason they had been gathered. Lex sighed quietly to himself, a hand rubbing at his face before their allotted thirty minutes of prep began.

His dark gaze settled on the cages, features hardening. The ring on his finger almost 'thrummed' in anticipation.

::You know the drill. Let's do this quickly.::

Lex gave a mental nod and summoned forth his weapon, feeling the familiar weight form in his hand as the bone glaive appeared. Mordy in all his frightening glory. Or what accounted for that glory now anyways.

::I resent that.:: The warm and sinister voice said indignantly.

With a roll of his eyes, Lex moved towards the cage closest. The Runic's had just successfully done their part. Now they, the FEAR hunters had to do theirs. ::Ready?:: He didn't get an actual response besides a purr of delight. Gripping his weapon, Lex approached the cage as that purr in his mind increased, quickly slashing at it and stepping back out of the way of fellow hunters.

She pointed the grappling gun straight at him and shot. Almost miraculously (or not, because he was standing so close), it hit, wrapping around his arm.

"Huh, what d'you know." Andy chuckled, tugging at the gun and pulling Caelius closer. "Looks like those words of encouragement actually helped."

Marsh grinned at the sight of the bottlecap necklace decorating Em's generous chest. "Looks good," he said, and happily returned Em's kiss. He wasn't reading anything into it; it was just nice.

He'd rolled up the sleeves of his coat to keep the cuffs out of the way; the bracelet of tabs gleamed over the leather of his glove.

The grappling hooks were in general, designed to capture rather hostile Fear creatures from Halloween, each of them fashioned with wicked barbed edges. While over time, due to the accuracy rate of certain Hunters, dummy-proof versions had been made, these unfortunately were still prototype A.

It was safe to say that the Sun Hunter did not really appreciate a grappling hook buried into his arm, please and thank you. Due to something along the lines of oh, his arm slightly bleeding, Caelius did not manage to regain his balance as Andy tugged, and he pretty much fell like some sort of over-sized fish onto the ground.

"Andy you-" there was quite a bit of swearing for the next five seconds as he finally pulled the barbed end out, sucking on his bleeding fingers as well, "Are you trying to kill me?" He was going to offer the Death Hunter some more choice words when his eyes caught Em's profile running around randomly kissing people in the middle of a mission, even. What the. <******** class="quote">

Bleeding Hell how long did the Fear Hunters expect them to hold these things still for? It wasn't like the grappling guns gave them super strength or something really convenient like that. No instead they had to stand there and slowly feel their muscles turn to mush under the force of the creatures struggling’s. Having three others help didn’t make it any easier, just possible.

"How's your line holding up?" she asked Lucas, seeing as she actually knew him of all the others holding this creature down, trying to take her mind of the strain in her muscles.

The compliment was interrupted when she noticed that he had a similar gift, and her entire world got a little brighter. "Oh my God! We're like.. jewelry buddies or something!" She jingled her necklace against Marsh's hand to make them jingle against each other, and laughed. "This is seriously the best New Years I've ever had, you guys. I did not expect to have so much fun on this mission. I'm so glad I met you two!"

She watched them both kiss, seemingly unphased by the action, and coo'd at Lowe's new openness. "This is super sweet. Now we'll stay warm and cozy all New Years. Right guys?"

But there was one person who wouldn't be staying very warm and cozy. She heard the screams even from where she was standing, and bent all the way back to look behind Lowe, at a bleeding Cael talking to his friend. She never could remember Andy's name.. but the fact that Cael had just been shot by the grappling hook meant he wasn't having a very good New Years so far.

It was time to change that!

"Give me a second, boys. I promise I'll be back, just.. someone needs my tender touch more!" She hopped away, slowly walking up behind Cael with her arms held behind her back.

"Sweetie? Do you need some help with that?" She looked at his arm for a second, but she was more interested in his pink, rosy from the cold face to really worry about any injuries. "Poor thing.." She murmured, reaching up and warming the tip of his nose with her thumb and forefinger, before cupping Cael's face in her hand. "Come here. You need to get warm. I won't let you catch cold when there's work to be done!"
