Well, first instinct would find cover...So a building of some sorts, preferably one that is no longer used. If this is a kid, he might confide in something comforting...So a nursery, school, or church perhaps...Best bet is probably going to a church...

I doubled as a field medic in my squad when I was in the military. It doesn't look that bad.
Daniel crouched and took off his backpack. He pulled out some water, a long bandage, and a metal rod. He soaked the bandage and then pressed the metal rod against her heel. He wrapped the bandage around her foot and then wrapped the metal rod to her leg tightly.
