Deryk stopped singing as he heard Clarice address him. OH. Of course. Christmas apparel. How could he have forgotten? Taking the hat gratefully, he placed it onto his head before continuing on where the Life Hunter left off. He hadn't even noticed that he was referred to as 'Death Spy' yet again. "A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots is the wish of Barney and Ben~" he went on, spinning. He never wanted it to stop looking like Christmas.

Clarice came up and offered them another drink...dressed as an elf. Candace grinned. "Thank you, Clarice! Merry Christmas~!" Not that she would be drinking it but it was the thought that counts!
...The thought that counts. Candace suddenly blushed and stood up straight, one hand on Jerry's shoulder and the other still holding his drink away as she looked around. Was..he here? She cleared her throat. Should she tell herself not to think about it? He wanted her to. It was his request! What he wanted as his present! She couldn't ignore a present! No way! Instead she giggled like an idiot and leaned in to kiss Jerry again. "Yeah? Do you like it? I bought it while we were off the island!" Candace chirped, letting go of the man to step back and give him a showy twirl so he could see the entire dress. And the bow! The bow was the best part, right? It was like she was a present! But whose present was she, hm? Heh!
All thoughts of H flit out the window as Jerry asked her to dance. She squealed and clapped her hands. "I'd love to!"

[I MISSED YOUR INTRO @ SHIA. Gonna put it here now!]
"OVER HERE, MR BOND," She waved the hunter over before giving Minerva a smile, "A merry Christmas to you, you pretty thing!" She wasn't sure why she added that last part, just that it seemed fitting after where Jeremy said; besides, she just felt so happy at the moment... So happy that she wanted to prance about and pretend that she was walking on sunshine presents.
"Nice candy cane," She commented to Otto with an approving nod followed by a grin, "Seems like it's attracting some attention though... Think they want to suck on it or lick it or something." She eyed couldn't resist noticing the way some of them were eyeing that giant candy cane.
... Then again, it's hard to miss.

Wilson didn’t know how to answer Jeremy’s question, but he would eat that giant candy cane somehow. He gave the candy cane one last longing glance—soon my dear, soon—and glanced at the blushing Reine. His lips curled into a smirk. “Yes, I think I do.”
He quietly followed after Reine and took a moment to simply behold the glorious sight in front of him. Snacks and drinks filled the table and he just didn’t know where to start. Wilson ignored Reine’s crooning.
He’d be doing that pretty soon himself.
Wilson picked up a cupcake and ogled it for a second. “You are so beautiful I could just eat you—and I think I will.” Which he did.

The music started to take the edge off of his worries, despite how hard it was to not be freaking out right now. His hand clung to Petra's waist, sliding along the curve of her body, until his hand froze when she spoke. He let out a low, but growly chuckle, enjoying the look in her eyes. Yeah, this suit had been the right choice. Even if it had been on Jeremy's dime.
He bent in, still keeping her body swaying, and whispered briefly against her ear.
"Maybe I don't want the party to last very long. Ever thought of that, sunshine?"
He was incorrigible. Even when his very night could be ruined by the simple loss of a ring, all he could think about was the way her hips swished in that long dress, and the curve of her neck as she turned it gently to one side to let him have access. The curl of a lock of hair as it drifted around her shoulder. He brushed the lock away, and bent in further to kiss the skin that was now bare from the lack of that lock.
"Pet." His lips remained on that skin, his eyes closing as he spoke into her shoulder. "I love you." There was almost an apology in his words, as if he'd already given up hope that he'd get someone to find the ring for him - or that he'd ever find the ring at all. If that was the case, all he had was his love.

Eva was disappointed to see that Otto rushed off shortly after she spotted him--where was he going?--and it was with a resigned sigh that she turned back to the others. What now--oh, right, she was...holding the mistletoe over someone's head right now, wasn't she? With an excited grin, her gaze followed her weapon up to the mistletoe, and then down at the two guys who were standing below it.
...Well, at least she had actually targeted Gale, despite having been looking in the different direction. "Ooooh, so Gale and Tedan! And--" OH HEY, OTTO WAS BACK! Cutting herself off, Eva beckoned for Minerva to lean in and lowered her voice. "You know the rules of mistletoe! As a fellow girl, make sure they see it through, okay?" She grinned before following Reine's lead, moving towards their puppy and throwing her arms around him (while miraculously missing him with the sharp end of her weapon).
"Puppppy, you look so handsome!" She paused as she overheard Ariane's comment, and her gaze slid down at the giant candycane.
Oh my god.
Eva's eyes may have been sparkling.

The moment she let go to clap, Jerry's glass gravitated face-ward, but be beamed, "Yes! Excellent, excellent! Cheers, then! To Er... The Birth of a really fantastic Rabbi! Ahahahahaha.." and the glass was lifted up to his lips. Just a sip just a sip, take it slow, enjoy it. it's been a while, don't go too fast, but it was smooth, so smooth, ridiculously smooth, and so cold the plastic glass was sweating and the sip turned into a gulp.

People showed up at the snack table. Giving them a judgmental stare he picked up a cupcake. A cupcake that was superior to Wilson's cupcake in every way shape and form. He also gave a judgmental look at Reine. "You're looking..." She looked good. Not as good as Cass but good. "Nice." maybe he was being to judgmental, but Wilson the cupcake he picked out was better than your's. "You two dating then?" He figured that even if he was going to have to fight for all the good cupcakes, he could still be nice. Maybe he could find the best cupcake and give it to Wilson? Yes. Yes that sounded like a plan. Because Cass was going to get the best of everything else. A smile and he reached over, taking one for himself. OMNOMNOM.

Candace was bouncing excitedly from one foot to the other as Jerry spoke, giggling and picking up the glass Clarice had set down out of instinct. "To the prince of peace and Santa Cla--wait no Jerry don--" It was too late. Jerry was drinking it. Candace put her glass down and pouted at Jerry, sliding her arms around his neck and kissing at the corner of his mouth. Stop. Drinking. Nooooooooo~!
"Jeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyy~! I want to go dancing~!" Candace crooned, reaching up to gently coax the glass away from him. She set it down on the coaster then, tugging at Jerry's arm and making her way toward the dance floor. "Come oooon~!"

Cupcakes! Cass seemed utterly delighted by the cupcakes, looking them over excitedly before she picked up a particularly overly-frosted looking one. It was that super-whipped frosting too that made you think it was just pure whipped sugar and diabeetus in physical form.
It was beautiful.
And she was going to eat it, pausing to use her finger to wipe some of the frosting off (it had to be like..an inch tall) before she turned and dotted it on the end of Marcus's nose with a bright smile.
"I got you!" She beamed, before she dived into it herself.
God, how did one tackle this thing? It was just...so big. Did she just try to shove it all into her mouth at once or just lick the top off?

"Oh... ah... alright! Yes!" He shook off the sweet afterburn, eyes looking distant and sentimental for a moment before he hesitantly set his own drink down. Just a sip... gulp... sip to take the edge off. There would be more later. Beaming, he took her hand, leading her out to the dance floor, "There's a contest if you wanted to enter!" He smiled excitedly, a hand resting on her hip as the other kept her slender fingers in his, "I'm no Robert but we might have a chance!" Chuckling, he frowned as his shoe kicked something that went skittering a few feet ahead of them. Huh?
"Er... hold on," He gave her a kiss to the corner of her mouth before letting go to investigate. Had someone lost a present? A piece of costume? Oooh wow, it really had been a while since he had had a drink... months.. months and months and months and he hadn't had much to eat today but candy canes. He knelt, scooping up the mysterious little black box, flipping it open to investigate.
Oh. What was this doing here? Silly Robert.... He wondered if Candace had seen it yet? Such a nice gift! Petra deserved a nice gift, yes, definitely! Beaming he glanced up at her, "Ah, Candace-"

Their dancing was less formal now, dropping down to a gentle sway as the song began to linger to a close. Now, they merely swayed to the beat, which was fine for her -- he was far more talented at dancing than she, and conversation was easier when there were few-to-no dance steps to remember. At his throaty growling laugh, she smiled a little, trying to keep a scolding look to her expression, but it came across more as amused and approving. His touch was always gentle, even as he leaned into whisper in her ear, teasing her so expertly that she wanted to simultaneously swoon from his charm and sigh in exasperation. In the end, she settled on neither, merely leaning a little closer to rest her cheek on his shoulder, feeling his lips against her skin and pressing her nose into his shoulder, just to take in the scent which was distinctly him.
The words he uttered into her shoulder left her feeling warm inside, and she felt the slightest flush reach her cheeks. Still, the apologetic tone gave her pause, waiting a few breaths before replying.
"... but?"

There was a look of pure bliss as Reine bit into the cake and savoured it. Red velvet with cream-cheese frosting, yesss. It had been so long since real cake. REAL CAKE!! The usual cafeteria staff had probably been sent off on break, because none of the food on the table was gloopy and gross- it actually looked and tasted really, really good! Maybe Julie had made them. After all, Reine had baked with her before, and it had turned out pretty amazing!
"Sooooo gooood," she said, between nibbles, sighing contentedly as she looked up at Wilson. "How's that one taste?" Even Marcus' presence was tolerated, even if sort of unwelcome, and she managed to not-frown at his question. What was it with him and wanting to know about her personal life?
"We're eating," Reine explained helpfully. Eating was just one letter different from dating, maybe Marcus had messed up his alphabet somewhere, he didn't look like the very smart type anyway. She could give him the benefit of the doubt for just one day! Momentarily she contemplated also giving him a cupcake in the face, but being the barbarian he was, she supposed he'd return that.
And she didn't want to get her pretty dress dirty.

A dance contest? "That sounds fun! We should totally whoop his sorry little butt at his own game." Candace whispered excitedly, giggling and resting a hand on his shoulder as he held her and took her other hand. He definitely was not Robert, but that was something she adored about him. She was totally ready to dance, a small glance being cast toward Robert until Jerry stopped to give her a kiss and let go. Eh? Hold on to what? Oh! He was getting down on the ground.
...He...had a little black box.
.....A little black ring box.
Candace's heart stopped. No...no..nononono! Candace? What's the matter? It's just a ring. No amount of JOY in the air was enough to keep Candace's heart from racing and her entire body tensing with fear. Oh god...oh god oh god oh god..! She'd said no rings! No Jerry! That's not just a ring oh god Atropos oh god what do I do oh god I'm not ready for this ******** oh ******** god what do I--
"J-Jerry?" Candace managed to squeak out, eyes wide with fear. That wasn't just a ring. That was very clearly an engagement ring. It was so beautiful! ********! Jerry! WHY?! No! She couldn't break his heart saying no! ********! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck!

"Isn't it pretty?" His voice dropped into a conspiratorial whisper, "Real lucky girl's gonna' get this!" This was followed by a wink a she wobbled up to his feet, hiding it between them as he glanced over his shoulder, searching for where the other couple had danced off through the crowd.
