Barth was never good with movies. He just didn't have the ability to go all the way through. Plays had much the same difficulty, and in the dark with the ratty auditorium seats and Calder warm and close by... it had been hard enough to stay awake with a part and under Contract. It was impossible now.

Still holding hands and already lost plot-wise, he leaned on Calder and dozed.

BACKSTAGE / ACTORS

Hel nodded her head at Sammy, and then snorted. “Ah, the big hero? I suppose, as much as a hero one can be, running around in tights.” She watched the undead ghoul then hop up on a crate and cheer on their fellow actors, and gave a hearty round of applause of encouragement for Sammy and the others. “She’s right!” The ghoul echoed, “Just try your best everyone! No one can ask any more than that from you!”

Luckily, Hel was all ready to go in costume!

Mac just wanted to get out. Everything about his room just screamed Lizzy (or was it Herryk's fist? He wasn't sure anymore). So he went to the only scareline who was available to keep him company: Amphi.

He invited the ghoul to the play with him and had shown up at least on time, sitting side by side somewhere in the crowd...but he was keeping his hands to himself. In fact, they were folded against his stomach, resting gingerly over the nice bruises on his stomach; his nose was still healing, leaving a nice mass of bruises around his eyes. It wasn't pretty, but at least he could see now!

Which was good, because he knew a lot of people in this play, and part of him hoped that Mot would ******** it up somehow.

Just to make him feel better.

Oooh, the new school play! The first time was...embarrassing, to say the least. Hopefully, this time would be better! With this in mind the Vetala had gone to see the play, finding a seat and not particularly paying attention to where she sat and who she sat near. It was just something to do, and she certainly didn't mind going by herself.

So Amrita made herself comfortable in the seats, her knees pulled up to her chest and her feet tucked neatly under her, and watched.

Needle wasn't sure where her sister wandered off to, but it meant that her afternoon was freed up. She wasn't sure what to do or where to go, but she heard word of the school play and decided that would be the best option for her; it stopped her from sitting in her room twiddling her thumbs again. So the ghost ghoul with the spikey protrusions took a seat, literally sitting blindly (as it was near impossible for her to see in this light), and settled in to listen.

Alexander felt ridiculous, and not for the first time wondered why he had decided to try out for this play.

His worst fears had been confirmed when a gnome rudely shoved his costume into his hands at his arrival earlier. It was awful! Black shoes, white socks up to his knees over red tights, a red jacket lined in lace over a very frilly white shirt with white lacey cuffs spilling out over his hands. And then, to top it off, an ugly, floppy, red hat with a big black bow! Not to mention the fact that the gnome also insist he have his cheeks painted with big red circles 'to make him look more joyful.'

Ugh. But what could he do?

He did take some comfort in the fact that a lot of the others in the play looked nearly as atrocious as he himself did. He listened idly to the other actors, waiting for the time when he would shamble off onto stage and make a fool of himself. in front of everyone.

Maybe nobody would recognize him in this awful outfit.

"Thanks for the free snacks then," Jericho deadpanned back at Demi.

He then spotted Mac coming in.

He didn't glare. But he did frown. Right now he didn't know how to feel about the guy.

BACKSTAGE - ACTORS

Unlike a number of her fellow co-stars Mandy was neither flipping out or trying to muster spirits, instead she was calmly sitting on one of the many crates polishing her glasses as she waited for her cue. For someone who had literally been dragged kicking and screaming into this she seemed rather... ready.

Her costume was neatly pressed, she'd practiced walking around in the high heels of her boots to make sure she didn't completely stack, all her lines where carefully planned and memorized (giving leeway for any unexpected actions from her fellows) and she'd even practiced biting off a nutcrackers head so she no longer got a mouth full of splinters (which she could attest to as being very very painful).

If you didn't know better you'd think she was looking forward to this.

(She was actually but she'd only admit that under heavy torture, she'd basically been given permission to act like a complete brat because it was in character. What part of that wasn't fun?)

(Mandy was pointedly not thinking of the massive audience)

Audience/Music

It wasn't until both Danny and Edel were in the pit and mentioned in Roch's speech that Rikki realized it. Danny and Edel were in the pit. Together. Not that far away from each other. Like, within catfighting distance. Was that okay? No, probably not.

Rikki had moved the club's set earlier in the day (labor, bah) and had settled behind it before most of the others had arrived, making adjustments. It felt good to be a part of the play, but knowing that he wouldn't be able to really watch it was a bit of a bummer. Non-the-less he started playing on cue and concentrated, doing his best not to mess anything up.

So far, so good.

Even if that gnome on the cymbals did look a little shifty.

Amphi had been surprised when Mac showed up at her door. She had just gotten out of her aquarium after a long swim and thinking. The last time she had seen him was there shared kiss and feelings. When he showed up though, he looked like he had taken to many beatings all over.

Her natural instinct was to worry and flutter over him but he had swept her up and off they went to the School Play. She had never heard of the Nutcracker or anything of the sort and was half excited, though she kept sending worried glances over at the boil.

"Um Mac...." She wanted to reach her hand out to touch his but didn't, for some reason he just didn't seem to happy. "Thank you for taking me." She offered him a shy smile instead and kept her thoughts to herself.
