Kat's response sounded very much like his own. He couldn't remember too much about his trial, but he remembered enough to know what had happened.
Ryan nodded slightly, though he wasn't quite sure he followed. Golems? Magic? It sounded like a load of hogwash. Or it would if he hadn't experienced what he had his entire life; the 'reasons' he was here to begin with. But still, it felt a little far fetched and only the phone call from the man's assistant had convinced him that she really was okay.
Like some of the others, Ryan went perfectly still when the doctor approached them all. Not really wanting to catch his attention at the moment--or ever. Though a couple of others were already providing enough of a distraction, that he probably didn't really have to worry about that at all.
"I feel like I'm back in grade school with all this yelling." He muttered, rubbing at his temples.
The headache was back.
Partners though... What kind were they going to get stuck with and how were they going to help complete them?

"Yeah, that does make sense, actually!" Minerva didn't quite look away from the Doctor, worried that she might miss something if she did, but the response was most definitely meant for Wilson. She liked to be facing people when she spoke as well, although currently she found herself in the unique position of being unable to...But usually that was how things were for Minnie as well.
The rising inquiries were thought provoking for the woman who had begun to nibble at her fingers and shake one of her legs. What exactly did he mean by partners of a sort? Like some of the others, joining forces seemed...Dangerous. Personalities would clash, a lack of leadership (or too much of it) would become overwhelming quickly. Minnie wouldn't mind partnering up with someone, so long as it wasn't one of the more difficult individuals...
Otto received a fleeting glance.
She couldn't help but agree with Ryan soon after, nodding her head with an eye roll to go with it.

Tedan received a small grin as acknowledgment for his thumbs up, but before she could reply to Otto's bit of namecalling, Ryan's mutter caught her attention. "Ah..."
...A-ahahaha. "Sorry guys. Not very mature of me, I know. I'll stop." Maybe that was for the best, too. Despite what had just been, to her, simple teasing, Otto genuinely seemed pretty pissed off now that she looked at him. He, er, he would cool down eventually, right?
Right. Hopefully, anyways.

It took her longer than she would have liked to recover from the sight of brains splattering the wall. It wasn't something you could just.. unsee, and it brought back memories of that particular room she'd died in.
Even when the Doctor revealed his magic trick, Reine couldn't help but feel unnerved, at least until he said the magic word.
Labs.
She felt a shiver of anticipation. Labs! LABS. SCIENCE. Things she was familiar with. But then.. lab partners. Reine had had.. awful experiences with some of them- couldn't even pipette, spilt solution everywhere, oh god the nightmares.. though, admittedly, what she had gone through on the island was far worse than any lab she'd ever worked at.
The rest were asking relevant questions- would they get to pick, or would they be assigned partners? Would there be some kind of tour of the lab before they started?
"Hey you two, too," she called out to Otto, and then Ryan, feeling just a tiny bit of pity for the first boy, even if she didn't know what had happened. For all she knew, he could have been a fellow alpha.

Otto glared from the corner of his eyes at Reine as she apparently was addressing them. He was still livid, still visibly agitated. "What?" He asked in a flat and serious tone. Wasn't this chic the Alpha? She said Alpha 10, right? He didn't remember what her real name was.
Did he care what her name was?
Nope.

She vaguely remembered when she'd been all rebellious and teenagery- it hadn't been that long ago. Ahahahah. It made her want to poke him in the cheek, and she chuckled as she imagined his reaction.
Instead, Reine simply raised her eyebrow at him, choosing not to say anything else. She'd never been too good with children in the beginning- and it looked like Eva was doing a good enough job with babysitting.

"Your partners have already been chosen...or should I say...they've already chosen you as a potential partner for themselves. And yes, do praise me more, I assure you that I do in fact deserve it. But enough about me, though I can understand your fascination, and more about your partners. Before any self-proclaimed lone wolves disparage such an arrangement, let me make this clear: they are the reason you are now awake, aware, and relatively sane."His eyes roamed the room briefly, and he considered going into detail, but well...where's the fun in that. "There's an area referred to as the Cove, ask any established Hunter and they'll take you there post haste. Should you return, you'll find a room and a uniform waiting for you. Now isn't that nice? Feel free to continue you're little...discussions and angsty reunions here, but don't wait too long to visit the Cove. Annnd...that's about as much of my time and attention as you really deserve at the moment, so have a nice day." And with that he was gone, leaving the would-be hunters with numerous questions, such as: what is this partner business really? What's this magic s**t for reals now bro? Do I really want to deserve more of Dr. H's time and attention? The OOC Your hunter may now pick up their weapon via solo in the Cove! Once your hunter has it, they'll find a uniform waiting for them in their room, along with a note explaining the divisions, and that while they may alter the uniform to a degree, they are expected to still look like the hunters they now are.

"Don't worry about him," She murmured to Reine, shooting the girl a small grin, "I'm sure he'll get over it."
But more importantly, what was this about their partners? Eva furrowed her brows at Dr. H's words--what did he mean that their partners were the reason that that had woken up and the reason that they were...er, relatively sane? Whoever these people were, they certainly sounded interesting. Eva was looking forward to meeting this partner of hers.
When the doctor left the room, she pushed her seat back, stood up, and glanced over towards Bix. "Excuse me, Bix. I'm assuming that we are dismissed now? I'd like to wander around for a bit to get my bearings before I visit this 'Cove', if that's alright." She paused, looking down at Reine, Ceres, and then even Otto. It may have been a silent invitation to join her if they wanted. While she most definitely intended on getting to know everyone in this room at some point, it was probably best to start with a small group.
She was already about 99.9% sure of Otto's answer to her invite, but hey, it didn't hurt to ask.

The reason why she was now awake..?
Reine had simply assumed that they had been monitoring the pods for.. certain signs, possibly, that would trigger the awakening procedure.
Shifting uncomfortably in her seat, she listened as the Doctor spoke. The Cove sounded fairly dangerous, and she wasn't sure if she was quite up for it yet, given her current condition- but Reine was quite ready for adventure of some sort, and this seemed compulsory, which meant it was probably better to get it over and done with as soon as possible.
The girl stood up, stretching. Most of the ache in her muscles was gone by now, though she still felt a little wobbly. So that was it- the end of the lecture?
"Let's go? I'm up for a bit of exploration, as well." It shouldn't be that hard to get to the Cove, if more experienced hunters knew where it was- and she was sure there had to be more of them out there. Moving closer to Eva, she offered the other girl a grin, then looked at Otto and Ceres curiously, as if waiting for them to answer.

Bix smiled a bit at all the newbs. Apparently they would be going straight to the cove. Huh.. his group had mini-missions before that.
Maybe they are in a hurry. After the last debacle of a mission...
You're probably right.
"Yeah you guys can leave whenever you want." He had an eerie smile on his face. "If there anything you'd like to take care of privately.. or if you need time to yourself, I suggest you get it BEFORE you go to the Cove." A chuckle came out of his throat. "Your partners may be a little more clingy than you'd like. Most of them have no regard for personal space."
If Dr. H wanted them surprised, he'd keep up the illusion. "If you want to head right there, I can give you directions. Otherwise I'll hang around here until you guys are gone so if you want to ask me anything else.." He pulled off the cellphone on his hip. So far every hunter they've seen was carrying one of the small devices, a blue glow issues from the screen. Bix was merely checking the time. "I'm always around really.. so if you all need anything at any time." he gave a smile and nod. He was putting himself out there to help them in the future but also hoping to talk to some laaaadies..
According to the time he wasn't going anywhere! As soon as the Hatchlings left, he would still be on the remainder of his pod duty!

Otto's eyebrow raised high at the Dr, nowhere near impressed with the so called genius. And according this this Bix dude, their partners were clingy stalkers? They were the reason he was up about and making so many friends on his happy little adventure? Fantastic. So.. Go to Cove, get a uniform and a room? Fancy.
Otto lifted his gaze to Eva and Reine. Were they... seriously inviting him to go play adventure?
...
Sigh.
He rolled his eyes in a mature display of understanding, stood up and kicked aside his chair. He stuffed his hands into his pockets, turned and stared at the pair of girls. "Well?" Lead the way?

So this... 'partner' was why she was awake? Why they...all were awake? Baffling really, to think the decision of one individual was justification enough to decide if someone lives, or is a vegitable in a pea pod. Infuriating really. Narrowing her eyes she gave a brief snort and shook her head. Oh yeah... she wants to meet this 'partner' of hers. See what gives them the right.
Looking to her left, she caught the gaze of Eva, Reine, and even Otto. (Whom she had been ignoring, up until this point.) Flicking her eyes up, she looked at Ryan and Kat as well to see if they were coming too. It seemed they were all moving as a herd to 'the cove.'
"Anything than here." Ceres mumbled, pushing herself out of the chair and moving to stand next to the group of gathering people. Dr H. really had left a impression on the woman.... she thought he was bat s**t crazy. That in mind, she wanted to get out of the classroom before he chose to slither back in.

...Was Otto actually accepting the offer?
Eva grinned at Reine and Ceres before turning to regard everyone else in the room. "We're going to go on ahead, then! I'll see you guys later." Eyes moving to Bix, she inclined her head politely. "Thank you for answering our questions. If you see that Ariane girl before I do, tell her I said hi, okay?"
She looked to Otto then, eying him silently for a moment, and then turning to look at Reine. Some kind of communication passed between them--a silent understanding as they looked at one another--and then Eva suddenly strode up to Otto and slipped her arm through his.
"Okay, grumpy. Let's go."

"S'okay." He assured Eva when she apologized. If anything, despite egging him on, she had tried to be pleasant and from what he could see, with this Otto, that was fairly difficult.
He turned his attention back to Dr. H. Listening quietly as he went on--first flattering himself and then back to the topic of partners.
Ah... So they were going to meet these partners now? Well, better sooner than later, he supposed and if it meant getting out of this room, he was willing to go.
"I'm gonna' head down to the... cove." He mentioned to Wilson, Minerva, and Kat. He wasn't sure if they planned on going straight away, but he was sure he'd see them later on. Or he hoped so anyways. They were pleasant to hang around. "I want to see what these partners are really like."
With that, he pushed his chair back, got up and exited the room, careful to avoid the mess Dr. H had made earlier.

Oh joy. He was teamed up with a bunch of goody goody chicks. Whatever. Maybe it would prove interesting, then he wouldn't have to blame himself if he got lost. It was as good an excuse as any to tag along. He stared back at the gaggle of girls, eyeing them suspiciously like there was some kind of telepathy going on that he wasn't aware of. What was Eva planning? He raised a brow further as she approached...
Wait... WAIT! What is she doing? What, what, what is she doing!?
Otto's nerves riled up aggressively as the girl went ahead and linked arms with him. Just what was her malfunction? Otto gave her the iciest, most disapproving glare he could muster.
There were just.. no words.
