Xiu's eyes widened in surprise as both hunter and weapon disappeared. At the same moment that the pair disappeared, she had felt a small ripple pass through her. Had she just...?

...Perhaps it was time to write a letter home to her uncle. There were lots of things she needed to talk about, and her growing powers was one of them.

She had been able to reply to Shun--undoubtedly to protest, as she thought of him as anything but useless--when she realized that his voice was fading. At this, Xiu clamped her mouth shut, simply waiting for the inevitable to happen. One moment she was in the dream, and the next, she was back in the waking world.

Eyes fluttering open, the baku immediately turned to look to at the two figures on the bed. She knew it had been a dream, but seeing the two safe and sound still filled her with a great deal of relief. Sighing, Xiu began to rose from her seat, intent on leaving and letting the two rest, when she realized that something was wrong.

"...Mitsu?" Was she...crying? Jumping up, she head towards the bed and reached out to give the ghoul's shoulder a gentle shake. "Mitsu. Mitsu, wake up, it's just a nightmare!"

A little groggy as well, Shun let out a muffled groan as he felt Mitsu being shaken. Soon, she rolled away from him and he was able to see.. a little better now. His vision was still blurry as hell but this was better than being in complete darkness.

Blearily, he looked from Xiu to the wolf girl, hearing their distant voices as they spoke.

He didn't say anything though. The events of the dream were replaying for him, garnering his silence. Even in his own domain, he couldn't protect Mitsu or himself. It was kind of pathetic.

Closing her eyes Mitsu leaned into the head pats before Xiu pulled away. Quietly she watched the ghoul leave offering a wave of goodbye before she closed the door and left.

A few moments passed after the fact, Mitsu sat slightly propped up in bed, her gaze shifting back to the reaper beside her. Slowly she lowered herself back down to lay next to him, her head nuzzling into the side of his neck. She just had to keep reminding herself that he was here. He was beside her while she slept. Hopefully that would curve the bad dreams.

Mitsu stayed awake for a while longer, even after Shun drifted into the land of sleep. She stayed nestled against his side listening to his slow breathing and the beating of his heart. It was those calm sounds that finally lured her back to sleep, her mind drifting back to a more pleasant place for the time being.

When Mitsu woke again the light in the room had changed. She sat up wondering how much time had passed as she rubbed at her sleep laden eyes. Surely she couldn't have been asleep for more than a couple of hours right? It was hard to say though with the way the room was. She hardly remembered what it was like when she was awake the last time.

Her stomach growled quietly and Mitsu finally realized that she hadn't eaten in some time. Had it been before the field trip?

Continuing to sit in silence for a moment longer Mitsu looked over as Shun began to stir. He seemed to be coming around slowly and finally he sat up along side her. It had been comforting to sleep next to him and once she had told herself to keep in mind he was there bad dreams didn't seem to plague her. Hopefully he would allow her to stay again, she wasn't sure she was ready to go back to her dorm with only Milo and Ziggy.

There was a hesitation after his question. Her body was still stiff and sore, the cuts that had been glued weren't too terrible but her botched stitch job felt like hell. Awkwardly she began to toy with a piece of hair that hug down in her face. She still hadn't gotten used to the new hair cut but the events of the last couple of days had kept her mind far from that issue.

"I..I'm feeling a little better. You?" Mitsu asked hoping his hearing and vision was improving. If not they would need to go back to Nurse Cricket...which in turn meant she would have to go to see Nurse Cricket....troublesome.

That was a relief to hear, the faintest of smiles touched Mitsu's lips at the news, that look only growing warmer as Shun placed his hand on the side of her face. Her own hand came up to rest against the back of his as she leaned into his touch.

"That's a relief to hear," Mitsu said trying to speak up a little, though her voice was still a little off in spots. Maybe if she left and got them some food it would help a little more. "Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat?"

She could talk with him again, oh jack she didn't realize how happy and relieved that would make her. It was like a terrible weight from the last couple of days lifted slightly.

As Shun pulled his hand away Mitsu looked to the bandages she had put into place. Unwrapping them and redoing them wouldn't be hard at all. "Alright," She nodded moving a bit closer so that she could find the end of the wrap around his torso and start to undo it. "If you want to shower I can set things out for you if that would make it easier."

She would be sure to set stuff out where it would be easy to find then perhaps while he was getting cleaned up she could make a run to her room to grab a few things and check on her pets that she hadn't seen in days. Before she would come back she would grab something to eat since she was certain part of that tired feeling was because she hadn't kept up her eating schedule. It wasn't required that they eat but she was used to eating every once in a while. The lack of FEAR intake was probably slowing down her healing.

If only she had her bag, at some point between the gauntlet field and the canyon she had lost it. She had packed bath items and she at least had spare underthings even if she didn't have another set of clothes to put on. Her first aid kit was gone she would have to replace it at some point. And.......Mitsu paused as she realized for the first time what else was missing and what would forever be gone. A hand came up to cover her mouth shortly as she bit back the urge to cry. She hadn't even given thought to Ludwig. It was petty really, one of the school's professors was gone and all she could think about was a plush bear. But that plush had meant a lot to her.

Fumbling with the waded up bandages Mitsu tried to get back on task. "Ludwig, I lost.." Mitsu stopped herself before she went any further. She had a feeling she shouldn't have brought the bear and she ignored that feeling so that she could have it with her. It was really her own fault that it had gone missing.

Slowly she shook her head as she finished unwrapping the bandages around Shun's torso and moved to the one that covered the bite wound on his arm. "I...it's nothing." At least she would try to tell herself that.

"I wanted to stay and help," Mitsu said in reply to his statement about relying on her. "I was worried about you, I didn't want to just abandon you." Besides she had made a promise even though it wasn't the promise that made her want to look out for him. "And...I kinda needed the company." She admitted softly.

His arm unwrapped Mitsu's fingers lightly touched around the bite wounds. "I'm sorry....I didn't mean to bite down so hard." She apologized. "I was trying to move you and everything was happening so fast." She tried to explain. Thankfully she hadn't used the full power of her jaws, Mitsu had simply wanted to have a good hold of him to drag him off. If she had truly bit down a simple bandage wouldn't have covered the wound.
