"I think that only works on the weak minded Demi." She replied softly watching almost amused for the moment.

Her eyes were watching the crowd, there was the horseman from Earlier, that saved them from that Jack damned creature. Granted she never got an answer on if they'd teach her how to offend it. That would've been highly useful if they ran into it again.

She paused, "Still..." her eyes looked around, "No Bul, no Cady or Bea.... no offense but I don't know nearly enough of the other students to be completely comfortable here." There was a small shiver that crawled up her spine.

She paused, "Oh," the tiger removed her tail from Demi's waist, "Perhaps I shouldn't encourage it... Wouldn't want her to become jealous." Willow added with a small grin.

Ah- there was an elegance as Eris bowed slightly while introducing herself. Levi mirror this act (a little less fancily), thinking it was just the proper thing to do. Pleasure ta meet'cha, Eris. Her wings were a lot more kept than West's she realized. Were they related, perhaps?

Hers didn't disappear and neither did the other ghoul's. She presumed they likely weren't kin to him but- at the very least, each other somehow? She wanted to know so much more about these ghouls. Ya'll look like tha sort 'a ghouls who know a good roughin'. If there's gonna be a fight... sure hope ta see ya in'it. War- Eris certainly must have a mastery of skills behind her in combat; it intrigued Levi to no end. Ghouls. They were rough fighting ghouls. Something she aspired to be herself all these years and confidently now believed she was. Secretly, she knew they were more than she was. She could learn something from them ... if not simply what was going on.

True 'nuff, I reckon. Didn't fight so much as- Wait. Wait. Levi's wheels creaked in developing her next thought. Never any trainin' ta begin with... this'is all fer findin' a maker, ya saying'? The school had sent them here for an alternate purpose to training?

So many things needed answering but she couldn't decide on what to ask at the same tim-

... eh.... h-hey thar... umm... Levi wasn't quite sure what to make of the Legs stroking at her tail. It was pleasant. Odd. But strangely pleasant. Her staring amazement outweighed her pleasure, however, her tail staying extremely still. Wait- didn't these legs belong to Tess? Tess?...

Xiu didn't seem to hear Vaith's groan. In fact, her attention was focused solely on the familiar, giggling at the affectionate action. "Did you want to keep the hat? Or I could always get you a smaller one when we're back at Amityville." A fedora would suit Note, she decided. It seemed like it liked her hat, at least.

What did successfully draw her attention away from Note was not the arrival of the horsemen, but the sudden arrival of Tess. Stiffening, Xiu instinctively reached out to grab onto Vaith's wrist for support (had he been wearing his cape or something loose, she probably would have chosen to hang onto that instead, but alas). After their previous exchange, the baku was a little jumpy around Tess, to say the least.

"Y-yes, and you're...Miss Maritess. Um...how may I help you?"

Whisper recognized the Famine horsewomen from the island trip, but she doubted she would be remembered. Wisp decided to approach the boil who had answered her question and thrust out her hand towards him. "I'm Whisper, pleased to meet ya. Figured I'd introduce myself to some people before things got...hectic."

She looked around and gave a kind smile to those around her, hoping to give off an aura of calmness and reassurance that they'd all be ok.

Aww, the ghoul was introducing herself! Mot smiled, loosening up now that he could focus on someone other than the horsewoman. "Whisper, is it? I'm Mot. A pleasure to meet you too, little lady." Mot grinned happily, shaking the ghoul's outstretched hand.

"Good call." Hectic. Yes, while it was peaceful now, that never did last, did it? Large groups always spelled trouble. And this was one big group.

"Nice to meet you Mot! I figure we'll all have to work together for whatever is ahead. What better way to build trust and bonds then to get to know each other a little!" Boy, this social thing was far easier then she thought it would be. It's not that she was a loner, but she always wasn't a social butterfly. She usually would follow someone around for days to weeks before talking to them. This was a fairly...special situation. And Jack knows she'd have to get used to being in places like these. After all she wanted to be a Boogeyman...and well, a better student.

It was difficult not to notice the ghoul that came in with such a flourish that it practically demanded attention as she moved about and watched a few of the students. And on top f that she seemed to be familiar with the other ghoul, the more easily excitable one. "Well Willow, there's one way to fix that uncomfortableness. that I know." damien commented lightly with the flick of a ear as he went on. "Why don't you accompany me while I walk around and see what the situation is, before something disastrous happens?" he asked while offering his elbow to the ghoul.

"You won't be alone you know and judging by the turnout, everyone around is going to have to work together, as new allies, team members." he gave her a tiny nudge as he inched closer to the new addition that was introducing herself. "Excuse me, Eris was it?" he said with a slight cough and a hand partially raised in the air out of nervousness. The idea that she had the potential to flip out like the other one was still apparent and he had to think about willow's well being. "Have you heard from the other Boogeymen, or seen Professor Red by any chance, its imperative that we find her." he asked with all the politeness that he could muster.

In fact, he might have risked making a spectacle of himself but decided to open the floor up to everyone "Has there been any contact with them from any of you?"
PostPosted: Sun Oct 30, 2011 9:27 pm

Gosh, she was sure friendly. "True enough. Well, no worries. I've got your back." Or try to anyway. In Mot's eyes, all the students were worth protecting. Knowing individuals just made it more personal. Still, if his luck with helping people was still the same as in the house, he wouldn't be a whole lot of help at all.

Demi got Mot's attention, and the cowboil turned, shaking his head. "Nope. Nothing."

Willow paused looking at Demi eyes growing larger as he suggested they walk around. They weren't actually going to go into the crowd more where they? Her ears pressed closer to her skull as she took Demi's offered elbow. "I-if you say so."

She preferred small manageable groups but if they were going to have to deal with this large one, with nothing really going on but talking, she was going to have to endure it. Willow tried not to whine as they moved towards Eris who was already getting a lot of attention by the rest of the group.

She nudged Demi when he asked everyone staring at him, it was bad enough they were walking right into the thick of things but drawing attention. She pondered threatening him but of course it was too late for that he'd already drawn attention. Her eyes would be darting from ghoul to ghoul as they spoke now. It was almost easy to tell she was a bit nervous, though the why was probably harder to say.

She hadn't zoned out. Really.

"Lattice! Xiu! Amrita!" She grinned, trotting towards Lattice before settling for grinning at Xiu and Amrita; seeing them safe and sound - although the many injuries on them worried and intrigued her - was a huge relief. Being sent into different parts of the house, with no way to communicate with each other, was really scary and nerve-wrecking... While she didn't really have time to worry about them before - between getting kidnapped, having her group fall apart, nearly getting lost forever in a mirror maze and seeing students dejected after failing to rescue Barth - it was just really, really good to see and hear them.

Of course, she would tackle hug all of them if not for the fact that she could tackle hug one of them straight down the edge... There would be time for hugging later... At least, that was applicable for everyone till her eyes landed on a certain long haired ghoul.

"TESS. Tess Tess Tess!" It was hard to tell if she was surprised, upset or happy as she practically tackled her friend, wrapping her arms around her so tightly that it might just be a good thing that undeads didn't need to breathe, "I couldn't find you and and and- And I thought I lost you!"

User Image"Oh it's such a relief to see a friendly face! I was starting to-" the rest of the winged ghoul's sentence was cut off when she felt arms practically crush her ribcage. "GACK!" she choked out before realizing who the arms belong to and soon Tess too was throwing her arms around Lizzy and babbling happily "You're alright! I'm so glad, so glad, I woke up in front of the house with my team and didn't see you at all! I was so worrieeeeed!!!" she sobbed.

User ImageLegs continued to stroke Levi's tail, hips wiggling from the movement. Yes, she recognized the tatzel from the shared memories with her winged counterpart and had she a mouth she'd be smiling. Up until the moment the tatzel started calling for Tess. W-what?! Why would the other ghoul be looking for her winged half?! Levi obviously had the superior half with her.

In a display of childish immaturity, Legs stomped on the ground with a sneaker-clad foot, the pleats of her miniskirt fluttering. Do not ignore me! the stamp seemed to say.

Though she had known that Lizzy was safe from hearing her voice earlier, it was such a relief to actually see the demoness in question, and seeing Tess' reaction to Lizzy earned a small smile from the baku (despite the fact she was still a little antsy around her). Xiu's grip on Vaith's wrist loosened slightly as she watched the exchange.

Her smile soon faded, switching instead to a concerned expression as she suddenly recalled what Lattice had said earlier. Lizzy had been a part of Lattice's group as well, right? And judging by this extremely happy and relieved reunion between Lizzy and Tess...

"A-are you two alright? What happened?! Did you...did the hunters...?" Pausing, she turned to glance Vaith, her eyes questioning. His team hadn't been attacked too...had they?

Just what did those people want?

THE AMBUSH:

They say that the greatest element to battle is the element of surprise. And Caelius was by far, no expert on 'The Art of War', but who was to argue with years of experienced Hunter practices? They were called Hunters for a reason: not Paladins, not Warriors, or any sort of that nonsense, Hunters because they waited for the correct opportunity and always took advantage of anything they could use. Because they set traps, because they planned ahead instead of charging blindly forward. Because they were organized and focused.

When the Hunters had teleported to the location requested, they would have seen nothing but barren rocks and an endless greying sky. The Death Hunter was looking around, examining the bare terrain. There were only a handful of them, it would be enough.

A messy sort of assembly later, Caelius was looking at a scalable ledge, winding up to the rocks and jagged overhangs above. The uneven surface of the overhang allowed for a steady climb, more of an ascent upwards than actually scaling anything. Once they were above, a steady twenty feet above the ground, he gestured for his group.

"Find a place. Take a trap gun. Stay there. Hide." The instructions were brief, the Death Hunter distracted. He did not say a single word about what they were waiting for, but there was a tension in the air that could not be put into words. Everyone stayed silent, somber.

What seemed like hours later, as the creatures as they began to infest the area below, it was obvious as to what the Death Hunter was waiting for. And even though the numbers seemed strange, more than the usual groups, there was still no signal to attack. Instead, the Death Hunter seemed to be considering his options, as he pulled out his cell phone, typing out a quick message before pressing 'send', all in silence. Might as well pull some trainees to do the grunt work: there was luggage to carry after all this was done, after all.

When the first of the trainees arrived, nearly stumbling over the cliff ledge concealing their hideout, Caelius gave them a glower. Fortunately the Halloween students were too busy mingling among themselves to notice anything different. The second and third ones were grabbed and pulled back to safety, and the ones following. When the last of the trainees finally arrived, equipped properly with capture guns, the Death Hunter signaled for them to attack.

The outcome was obvious.

RULES:

- Despite many questions about what just happened, trainees can sense the urgency of the situation. They have been equipped with capture guns, there is little to no time for them to recover, short of noticing their new surroundings. All that matters is that there are more of them.
- The area is very rocky with many cliffs. The Hunters are located ABOVE the Halloween students on the cliffside. They are shooting down below, attempting to capture them, well hidden against the ledges.

STUDENTS:
- When netted, your abilities have been locked down, and so has your Fear. You will be returned to your student form. Feel free to rp as you must while still inside, but it is mass confusion as you try to figure out where the nets are coming from. If you have been selected and captured, please make a note of it in the bottom of your post.
- Unfortunately you have no clue where to start looking for the attackers, the nets are landing in too fast, you're already having a hard time avoiding them as is!

Hunters:
- You are shooting down below. Roll a 6-sided dice and QUOTE YOUR TARGET. If odd, your target is CAPTURED. IF even, you miss! You can shoot up to twice per turn. Please make a note of how many turns you have left at the bottom of your post.

((Entering from the Gauntlet Redux!))

Everything happened so fast - it seemed like only a few seconds after she pressed her cell phone's 'accept' button, Madison was up on some cliff, clutching an unfamiliar gun, with Kouki complaining about her using a weapon that wasn't him. There was no time to ask questions, not now. They were Hunters.

This was hunting.

Down below, Madison caught sight of a familiar face... a familiar undead, tattered face. Her lips curved in a cruel smile. Maybe Ennea was right and the zombie girl couldn't be killed, but Madison was betting she could still be caught...

She aimed. Fired.
