One the way to Roe's Aerie kept herself between Ryuusei and Akiraa.
They got there without much incident. The apartment was high end but understated. She showed them to the table and went straight to the open kitchen and began putting things away and arranging her groceries. The cooking started immediately and soon the apartment filled with delicious food smells.

Akiraa noticed the protectiveness of the dragoness, but didn't comment on it. Ryuusei shifted slightly, his gaze flicking around the apartment. "From what I overheard, that brunette girl who's friends with that Tsukino Usagi likes cooking as well," he said quietly.

"It makes things so much easier." She replied, "Oh, I forgot to ask. You both like fish, don't you? I've run into a few people who didn't." She called, "I got some chicken as well."
When Akiraa finally sat, Aerie curled up on the floor in front of her. She'd been holding onto her shielding but then she abruptly dropped it so that she was easily visible.

Akiraa tilted her head as she grinned. "I like fish, not to mention I can do a mean lemon pepper chicken," she said in return.Ryuusei tilted his head slightly, knowing he was kneeling in the formal Japanese style from habit and was fairly sure to the girls it seemed... archaic. He suspected, however, that the dragoness would sense it was mainly from his upbringing that he did so.

Aerie, for the most part, appeared to be ignoring Ryuusei. She still kept her body between himself and Akiraa, but her head rested on her front claws, very much like an enormous house cat.
"I'll keep that in mind." Roe commented.
She made quick work of the meal and soon had three steaming plates set on the table and three glasses of some light fruity drink. She set a fourth plate on the floor, this one had a whole, uncooked fish on it for Aerie.

Akiraa glanced at Ryuusei, tilting her head slightly as she looked at him around her bangs. "What's with the odd manner of sitting?" she whispered softly. She was, however, surprised at the answer.Ryuusei cocked his head fractionally at Akiraa's soft question. "Blame it on my father.... to put it bluntly, he wasn't that pleasant at the best of times, especially after his cousin nearly died," he said quietly. He saw her eyes widen slightly. "It's also part of the reason I used my mother's last name, 'Seishou', rather than my father's.... though nobody around here would recognize either name," he said wryly. It was the most he'd spoken about himself in the time since he'd been, for lack of a better term, ripped from his time. He cocked his head as he heard a slight scratching sound, his gaze shifting to the side as his golden orange eyes deepened to a odd shade of burnt orange. A small creature that looked a cross between a ferret and a weasel was scratching at the edge of the window, it's dark gold fur rippling slightly and giving an odd wavering effect due to the bright golden yellow tips of color to its fur. He exhaled slowly, making certain to keep his facial expression blank.

It is an extremely old and quite formal style of sitting. Personally, it looks uncomfortable. Aerie put in but then her head raised, her angular head whipping around.
Roe sat down at the low table where she'd set the food and picked up her fork when Aerie's jerking movement drew her attention, "What's the matter?" She craned her neck as well.

Akiraa blinked, hearing a low scratching before she glanced at the window. "That's an odd looking ferret," she said softly.Ryuusei exhaled, the sound somewhere between a snort and a chuckle. "Kubiro's father was a weasel, while his mother was a ferret, and he inherited both of their bad habits of curiosity and drinking some of the strangest things.... I caught him drinking sake once, though that was just plain strange to watch, and considering my godfather used to eat somewhere between seven and eight thousand calories in food in one sitting yet never gain a pound, that says a lot," he said softly in a low voice, ignoring the blustered tone in his head from the guardian summon. He'd discovered he could effectively summon Kubiro by accident, though he doubted anyone would think that Kubiro the guardian and the infamous Rokubi no Raijuu were one and the same.

Roe continued to stare, "So...does it want something to eat or something? Should I let it in? Or maybe you should do it." She added after a moment of thought, "I've got one more fish. I was going to save it for tomorrow but he can have it if he wants."

Akiraa glanced at Roe, then at Aerie. She had the sense there was something their new friend wasn't saying.Ryuusei shrugged. "Ask him, though whether he's hungry..." he said with a shrug. He doubted Kubiro was hungry; usually the demon guardian simply liked to horn in on whatever was happening just to get under his skin. Kubiro snorted, standing on his hind legs. "I had sushi on the way here," he said dryly, shooting a look at Ryuusei. His voice was surprisingly deep, almost like rumbling thunder, for such a small creature that stood only eighteen inches tall on his hind legs. His tiny gold claws tapped on what on a human would be their bicep, remaining silent. A smirk flashed over his face as he saw a glitter of blue flicker as Ryuusei shifted his finger slightly before the window opened. Akiraa blinked, noticing a thin thread of blue light connecting the knob to open the window to Ryuusei's index finger. Almost the moment the window opened, the thread dissolved. Okay... that was unusual... I've never seen someone use threads of energy to manipulate objects, she murmured quietly to Aerie.

Roe took it all in stride and shrugged, "Suit yourself, then." And turned her attention to her plate. She paused after swallowing her first bite, "Try not to leave any of those threads laying about, if you will. I'd hate to trip over them." She commented to Ryuusei and a thought occurred to her. She turned back towards the ferret-like creature, "You may not be hungry but would you like something to drink?" She asked him directly.
Aerie's attention stayed focused on the newest comer though she hadn't made a sound and at the moment she was preternaturally still, like a very large glass sculpture.

Akiraa started eating slowly, trying to keep from smiling faintly at Ryuusei's amused look.Ryuusei chuckled slightly. "I wouldn't worry about it; I learned it from one of my godfather's friends before he passed away... I can see why he chose to train as a Kugusu user," he said softly, absently realizing they wouldn't know what he meant. Kubiro nodded as he took a couple of steps before leaping forward and landing on Ryuusei's shoulder, snorting softly as if snickering when Ryuusei twitched in surprise. "Those sorts of threads don't leave marks anyone can see or feel.. unless you're a sensor," he said in a low voice that sounded like distant thunder. His gaze flickered for an instant to Akiraa before shifting around the room casually. Ryuusei sighed when Kubiro leaned against his ear as if it didn't bother him at all to be distracting Ryuusei.

Roe nodded, satisfied, "So that's a 'no' on the drink then." She stated and then turned her attention back to her meal. Afterwards they were probably going to start talking about all things supernatural. It was a safe bet they all knew that each of them had a special skill. She herself had a feeling that their goals would be quite different but the underlying code of protecting the innocent would be there.
Aerie finally moved, leaning her head forward she sniffed the offering on the floor, Thank you, Highness. She added privately to Roe before swallowing the fish in a quick, fluid gulp. The fish could not been seen going down her gullet, belying the illusion that she was actually made of glass.

Akiraa tilted her head slightly, shifting fractionally. I'm sure you noticed it already, Aerie, but that guardian of his doesn't seem to stay far from him; I remember seeing it darting along the windowsills of the buildings on the way here... it also has that odd bright gold aura that flared around him for a few seconds before; I think there's a lot he isn't telling us, she murmured to Aerie privately. Ryuusei tilted his head as he ate fairly steadily; fortunately for him, his mother's allergy did not carry over to him. He cocked his head slightly as he heard a faint scratching along with a low purring sound. Seems our cook may have a visitor, he thought quietly in a low mental voice. Kubiro snorted softly as if chuckling. "Your cooking actually reminds me of my father's cousins' cooking... though I doubt I'll ever see them again, considering I don't even know how I ended up here myself," he muttered under his breath in an offhanded compliment to Roe. He saw Akiraa twitch as if she'd heard him, though he doubted she had.

((If Ryuu's referring to Aerie, she's been visible for a little wile now))
Roe paused, "Thank you...I think." Since she'd never tasted this Uncle's cooking she had no idea if that had been a compliment or not. Akiraa didn't seem to be keeling over or choking on the food so she figured it was edible.
It is common for Guardians to stay close to our wards. As I am your Guardian I will do my utmost to stay close to you and guide you through your Awakening. Aerie replied placidly.
Roe put her fork down for a few moments looking first at Ryuusei then Kubiro then over at Akira, "I think it is safe and obvious to say that we are not normal teens." With that said she picked up her fork and resumed eating. There, she thought, it's on the table.
