Her choice of attacking, er, pruning another area had paid off, and Sugilite no longer felt shocked by the sizes of the pieces she was pulling off, er, carefully removing. It sure was hard to pretend this was anything but an all-out brawl, but she struggled along with the charade that she felt it was set up to be.

It was a good thing she had brought the bottled water, Sugilite considered, taking a sip. Although when they left the tavern, she had sworn off liquids forever, she soon enough found herself sweating, tired, and thirsty. While the plant was quieting down, and nearly at an acceptable size, she still had a way to go. Wiping her forehead gingerly with a towel, she tucked both it and the bottle away in her bag and set upon the plant youma again, with renewed vigour.

Rolling her shoulders, Howlite cracked her knuckles, and began to get into the serious work. The rock was tossed aside, in favor of wrapped palms, and she tore and yanked at the weaker plants surrounding her main target.

Perhaps she had held back to soon. It seemed the youma still had some life in it, as it energetically dodged out of her way leaving Sugilite with only a small bud in her hands. She threw it down and waved her finger at the creature, scolding it.
"Don't you start up again, or I'll get the shears out! I'm warning you, you're being quite impossible!"
Looking back later, she wondered if the plant even had ears to hear her voice. It hadn't been that intelligent a move, but she had been sorely tested by the creature.

Plants HP: 50 Ok, that looked good. He was done. Stepping back he let himself plop onto the ground and sit there. The hives were a bother, one which had him itching but he was just glad it was over. He'd itch and scratch while smiling at his work.Done.

Tearing off one final vine, Sugilite surveyed the plant sharply. It was small enough for now, and she decided to instead focusing on beating some manners into it. Dusting her hands together, she raised a foot daintily, and kicked it sharply in what she guessed was it's side. It was so hard to tell with such versatile creatures.

Withdrawing her foot, she chose another side of the youma that was still looking decidedly feisty and applied her heel strongly and firmly. This youma was going to be tamed or she would eat ... her mind reeled to try and find something more unpleasant than what she had already drunk earlier for the sake of this insane quest. Boiling tar?

Another strike, another howl from the unpleasant creature. It was tired now, and curled up on itself. It seemed quite tame, but Sugilite was certain she could still see a spark of defiance in it. Well, she told herself she could. She kicked out again, catching it a glancing blow.
