Yoshi's eyes widened slightly as he saw his opponent. The bug pokemon was coming towards him and it's attack looked pretty strong. This battle wasn't going to be as easy as the other ones. The Totodile crouched slightly and concentrated. The pokemon came closer and closer and then Yoshi sprang forward. He was aiming to leap over the Venonat. The only downside would be that he had to be fast enough.

[CRITICAL! +1 to VENONAT'S ATTACK ROLLS!]
The Totodile had underestimated his opponent in that split second. This wasn't the same heavy bodied Venomoth he'd encountered before. Quick and nimble the insect Pokemon darted around his opponent with relative ease, and speed just that much quicker then his opponent. Fangs at the ready, the Venonat would manage to deliver a series of painful bites onto the Totodile's stubby tail...though surprisingly, none of them broke then skin. The reptile would be left unharmed, and the Venonat would be seen darting into the darkened allies of the carnival grounds.

Yoshi resisted yelping and yanked his tail out of the way... a couple seconds too late. He stopped to examine his tail for a second and seeing that there wasn't much damage or anything, he glared at his retreating opponent's back. Alright, this bug pokemon was really going to pay for that. The Totodile leapt forward, trying to move quickly. He was trying to catch up and slash through his opponent with Metal Claw!

Yoshi would find himself among only darkness, the Carnival alleyway filled with nothing but dust and trash. The rapid chittering of a certain night time insect would fill his ears, seeming to come from everywhere at once at the Venonat expertly threw it's voice. Soon, a pair of red glowing eyes would appear behind the Totodile, and with the speed of a ninja's strike, the Venonat would launch forward, intending to take a new series of bites along the reptiles tail. Bug Bites were often worse then regular ones. After all, soon after they'd begin to itch like no tomorrow!

The baby reptile had been about to go and search for his opponent when he stopped instead. His tail was suddenly irritating him and as he glanced at it, there were multiple bumps going down it. It was reddish in color and were super itchy. It was going to drive him crazy. He tried scratching it but his claws were too sharp and soon blood welled up in various places on his tail. Yoshi winced unhappily before a shiver ran down his back. It was the only warning he'd get off his opponent as he whipped around quickly to try and snap at his opponent with a Crunch attack! That stupid bug would pay for hurting his tail like that!

The Totodile's powerful jaws would clamp down upon the Venonat then, the little puffball exploding into a ckloud of mist and fur as the surroundings disappeared. The battle had been won in that one attack. The fight was over, and Yoshi would be stronger for it.

Riku returned both Yoshi and Huojin to their respective pokeballs. The two had done well and now it was time for Ryuu to take his turn at battling. Then after leveling, she would work on Sir Aiden and then the Numel and Totodile once more. The girl was determined to have all of her pokemon up to level five each by the time she left. So far things were going well with her new pokemon but Sir Aiden had pretty bad luck.
Ryuu on the other hand knew it was his turn. The Larvitar walked forward, gazing into the darkness. This was nothing new to him and he knew that this place was for battling. Since watching all the other battles, he was a bit interested in what his own opponent would be. The dirt eater stood waiting patiently to see what land type took place and what opponent dared enter.

Once more the landscape would twist and shape, solidifying as if from the shadows themselves. The little Larvitar would soon find himself surrounding by buildings, bright and tall. The sun shone overhead, and the place presented an almost cheery atmosphere...something that greatly contrasted with his opponent.
Skinless, boneless, devoid of most organs, with a body which glowed and sizzled like fresh magma, was a Slugma. One with had it's flaming tufts of 'hair' tied into two pigtails via a star and heart barrette respectively. ">Stop there rocky monster! I won't let you or anyone steal our friendships~!<" The Fire-Type declared in a high pitched voice, adding to the oddity of the situation.
Closing her eyes, the Slugma would then call the words ">By the power of our sizzling hearts!<" Immediately the Slugma's body would be covered in an almost blinding white light, sparkles flying everywhere as the Slugma seemed to be entering some sort of transformation (sequence!)!
The barrettes would change, becoming a set of heart shaped flames, her body turning pink as a trail of translucent white cloth extended from her accessories. When the light faded Ryuu would find himself faced not with a Slugma but....actually it was still a Slugma, albeit a pink and sparkling one; however to the Fire-Type this change seemed significant. For it was only then that she would cry out ">In the name of Moltres, I shall incinerate you!<"

Ryuu looked at the pokemon and wondered what it was talking about. Stealing friendships...was that what it had said? Well regardless, he still needed to win this battle. The Larvitar charged towards the fire pokemon, aiming to try and Bite down onto it! Pokemon these days were really far from normal... and he had met some pretty strange ones.

Narrowing her eyes, the Slugma would lean forward and call out as if summoning something ">Sparkle Sparkle Starlight Wand!<" As these words left her mouth, the barrettes in the Fire-Type's 'hair' would pulse, a star projecting out from each, swirling and spiralling through the air until a pink rod appeared between them.
Plummeting back to the earth, the Slugma would catch the wand on her right side; though Arceaus only knew how she was actually holding the darn thing. Turning slightly, she would then begin to spin the rod, using it in an attempt to ward off the Larvitar's attack!

Ryuu had charged towards the pokemon but actually been pushed back because of the wand. The Larvitar's jaw dropped slightly, shock clearly visible in his gaze.. Okay, that stupid wand must really be strong. Irritated, he just glared at the decent sized glob of a pokemon. No, he couldn't let it win! He began to waddle away, trying to gain as much distance in between them so that any oncoming attack would be hard to land on him!

">No one can stand against the power of love and friendship!<" The Slugma cried as Ryuu was forced back, twirling the wand about. One really had to wonder how she was managing that without any hands. Still spinning the wand, the Slugma would release a small burst of fire, causing one end to catch aflame. Thrusting the rod forward, she would forth a large glimmering fireball in the direction of the opposing Larvitar ">Sparkling Star Nova Attack!!!<" An oddly dubbed Ember; but an Ember by any other name was still a blast of fire flying toward your face.

[12-10] + [13-10] = 5/2= 2.5= 3 DMG Ryuu wasn't really hurt much from the attack but his pride was sorely wounded. He had really just been hit by an attack called Sparkling Star Nova?! The Larvitar looked horribly embarrassed and felt like he would never be able to live it down from his other team mates. Well actually Sir Aiden was the only one out besides himself...but still. There was a fierce determination that flared up in his gaze angrily. No, he wouldn't be defeated so easily. If he could just tear his opponent apart and hit her with his own powerful attack then it wouldn't be so bad. Well at least he hoped so. Letting that anger flood through his veins, he charged forth aiming to Bite through that stupid wand and break it to bits!

Just as she had before the Slugma would begin twirling her wand about in an attempt to ward off the Larvitar's attack. Spinning in circles, the star tipped rod would release a series of sparkles into the air, giving it a somewhat magical appearance. It was like something straight out of a little girl's TV show. One could only wander what had caused a Slugma to turn out like this, even if it WAS only an illusion!

[20-18] + [11-10] = 3 DMG Ryuu had managed to get his jaws on the wand, his problem was keeping his grip on it. As the stupid thing stopped spinning but the Slugma's efforts in continuing to twirl it were enough to dislodge it from his mouth. Shaking his head slightly, he glared angrily. This was one pathetic battle. He backed off, watching to see what the pokemon's next move would be. Somehow he was feeling pretty embarrassed that a pokemon like this was managing to keep him at bay. No, he would bide his time and then attack when the time was right. His ancestors were Tyranitars and losing wasn't an option. The dinosaurs would surely be laughing at his attempts right now..
