Faleen took this time to get a little more organized, get the items out of her bag, and laid out out of the way so they can dry. Absol was still investigating the room, before Faleen felt he was starting to get in the way more, reaching out to grab the horn on his head and guiding him to the side of the best she assumed she was claiming. "Settle in" she told him. To stop him from moving around as much in the small room,
Once he was finished, She took a little longer when it was her turn to shower, since she took some time afterwards to wash the wet and dirty clothes, and hang them out so that she could have something to wear tomorrow.
Faleen was used to wearing clothes that were big on her, for most of her time after she left the university she really didn't wear much else outside of her uniform. These clothes were not hers so it was a little strange, but she was grateful to have something clean to wear once she was out of the shower,
"I really appreciate this." She told him, after she stepped back out into the room, her hair still damp from the shower.

Hayes had sprawled out on the bed nearer the door by the time Faleen emerged, comfortably clean in his pajama pants and a t-shirt emblazoned with the crest of Hyrule as he tapped away at the display of his Rocket Dex. Binary was stretched out beside him, and both her fur and his hair had the soft, fluffy look of the newly-washed. They both looked up when the bathroom door opened.
"Hey." The blond's accompanying smile faltered a moment at the sight of her - then he blinked and cleared his throat and it returned. "Uh- no problem. So how d'you feel about pizza?" Sure, there was food packed, but it was camping food - unheated, dense in nutrients, and mostly dry. Fresh-baked dough dripping cheese and mouth-scalding tomato sauce was a much more attractive option.

With one hand brushing over the shirt she had on, in a habit that she usually did with her uniform, she had gotten a kick out of reading the what the shirt had on it. Seemed like a very appropriate shift for him.
Absol, who was laying on the floor by the far wall next to the bed Faleen got, lifted his head and looked up at Faleen as she stepped over. He moved to his feet to get out of the way, pausing when Faleen reached down and stroked her fingers a few times through his mane of hair.
When Hayes cleared his throat, the agent blinked and glanced back up at him, met with a question about Pizza. "Oh, sure, seems like the most convenient things right now." She said with a grin. Sitting on the edge of her bed, reaching out for the small pile of poke, Dusk and dark balls she had placed there before her shower.

"Heh." The other agent mirrored her grin. "'kay. Any preference?"
He fished out his phone - team-issued and signal encrypted - glanced around for the folder of local attractions and eateries that was a staple of motel rooms everywhere, and located it on the end table separating the two beds. Rather than get up, the blond half-twisted to reach it.
"Bre-?" Binary, who had been leaning into his leg, found herself tipping into the space Hayes had been and worked to right herself as he rolled back to where he'd been. The little Umbreon wriggled until she found her comfortable spot again and put her head on his knee; Hayes' free hand drifted to the space between her ears while he made the call, keeping the folder propped open with an elbow.
At some point he found his eyes drifting sideways.
'Sir?' a patiently harassed voice repeated.
"Huh? Oh. Yeah, breadsticks. Thanks."

"I'm not picky." She told him, hoping that made things easier. She watched as he reached over to try and take something from the night stand, followed with an amused smile.
As he called, she busied herself with towel drying her hair, having pulled a smaller one off the rack, sitting in the middle of her bed with all of her hair pulled to one side while she rubbed the tips of her hair between her towel, to try and get the access water out. listening to him make the order absently.
"can they split the payment on the receipt?" She asked, once it sounded like he was getting to the end of the order, tilting her head so she could look over at him.
Absol then jumped onto the bed, pulling himself easily up right behind Faleen. She payed him no mind, as he hunkered down onto his elbows behind her, staring fixedly on the two figured they shared a room with.

"Yeah, that should be everyth-" Hayes made a little 'mh?' noise and blinked, brows lifting; a corner of his mouth twitched upward at the offer, and he looked down at his hand resting on Binary's head. The little Umbreon was watching Faleen, but her eyes were half-lidded as she enjoyed the head massage. "Actually, can you split the receipt?" Pause. "Oh, okay. No, that's cool. Thanks."
He closed the phone and looked over at Faleen with a little shrug and a 'what can you do' sort of smile. "Maybe next time."

She watched passively as she could easily guess from the way he responded that they would not be able to split it. Her attention shifting slowly down to the Umbreon who was still watching her. Not a problem, she would just pay him back when she could. "Oh, Alright," She replied, pulling the towel into her lap and starting to fold it. "I'll pay my part to you. If you want to give me your number back at HQ I can just transfer the funds over."
She smiled a little, leaning back slightly to slump against the Absol's side, right behind her. After a moment of just relaxing back against the much bigger tufts of fur she suddenly let out a small laugh. "I never imagined spending a tracking mission like this." It was pretty funny.

"Sure," the blond responded with a mild smile, settling back against his pillow before he blinked, then laughed himself. "Yeah?" he asked, tilting his head to look at her. The sound jolted Binary out of her pleasant lull; she raised her head under Hayes' hand and looked over. Faleen was still some distance away. Good.
The little Umbreon settled back down again - this time resting her chin on Hayes' knee to watch the other agent. She wouldn't be caught nodding off on her watch, no sir.
Presently, however, her eyes began to droop again.

She pulled her knees up, crossing her arms over her chest as she lounged against a still wide awake Absol. The dark pokemon had looked away from Hayes. moving his glance to Faleen who met it with a quiet stare of her own, before reaching up to pat the dark type's head.
"Ending up staying in a hotel, with pizza." she said, glancing back over to him. "yeah. Though, it got dark quickly, I can't imagine we would have found anything today anyway."

As Faleen moved, it suddenly struck Hayes how long it had been since the last time he'd seen another person in his things. A girl in his things.
She wasn't quite swimming in his t-shirt, but she was definitely wading in the shallows, looking like she'd pulled on one of those oversized nightshirts and a pair of her boyfriend's jeans. Or boyfriend jeans. Whatever they called that style; she'd never mentioned nor seemed interested in having a boyfriend. The overall effect was slimming, making a guessing game of exactly where she was in the folds - and when she looked at him there was a funny jump in his chest, like he'd been caught looking too long at something he shouldn't.
"Heh." Hayes flashed a quick grin - not at her, but at the vine-patterned comforter spread over his bed as he pushed himself up, dislodging Binary in the process. "We c'n do plenty of rugged outdoorsy stuff tomorrow to make up for it." His hand closed on the remote lying by the TV; standing, he aimed it carefully at the screen, which sprang to life with a polished anchor giving sports commentary. "H'n." The blond kept his gaze trained on the screen as he flicked through channels, going past monster movies and Lifetime specials and an infomercial for what looked like a pump-action Cuisinart to-
"Oh hey."
Giant robots. Thank Arceus.

Eyebrows arched a little when she glanced up to see Hayes looking over at her, then at the covers on his bed. Blinking a couple of times, sliding her own attention to one of Absol's paws, smoothing her hand over his large claws.
"That sounds a bit more like it." a small grin followed before the TV was turned on, and Hayes started to channel surf. Not particually interested in anything that was on, not sure what he was looking for, but when the image of CG robots flashed on the screen, Faleen couldn't help but lift her head, in more interest.
"... Huh, reminds me a bit of Transformon..." and then one of the Robots, a blue one transformed into a bike. Faleen paused. "Oh wait... is this?"

To be fair, Hayes hadn't been sure what he'd been looking for either - but now that he'd found it he was oddly grateful for a topic of conversation that didn't involve their current situation.
"Yeah," Hayes grinned, returning to his bed with the remote."This is Prime - they rebooted the series this year. This is last week's episode." He cocked his head and focused on the screen, clearly interested in it regardless. As Binary settled back over his lap, he settled safely into the realm of talking cars with energy rifles. Soon the worrying tremor he'd felt passed out of mind.

Also watching the show, blinking a couple of times when Hayes' confirmed that the show was a Transformon reboot. The Agent leaned forward to put her chin on her knees as she payed closer attention to the show, fascinated with how much better the series looked now.
She had not been a very big fan of the show, she couldn't be really, but it always fascinated her. They were robots after all!
Falling into the silence as well, as the show continued, and the theme of the episode started to surface. The blue one... now Faleen learned was Arcee, was talking about partners, she seemed to have lost some in the war. Interesting topic... ironic really, seeing as it got Faleen thinking.
"I heard you were assigned a new partner... Aulus, right?" Turning her head away from the TV as she spoke.

No longer reliant on hand-drawn animation cels, the artists had gone all out - bolts, tires, chrome plating and other details were present in abundance, providing any mechanics enthusiast with a treat for the eyes.
Oh, and the dialogue was good too.
"Hm? Oh, yeah-" Hayes looked over as the scene switched to two other characters, most likely villains to judge by their designs, jockeying for superiority as they searched an abandoned crash site. "He's pretty great. Does karate, plays a mean game of co-op. So far it's going pretty well." A stiffness in his shoulders prompted him to sit up slightly and stretch, linking his hands behind his head and extending his arms out with a close-eyed grimace as something clicked in his elbow. Binary mumbled something in protest as he shifted.
The blond settled back and looked Faleen's way again, returning the question. "How 'bout you? Still single?"

She kept her attention on him while he talked, blinking a couple of times as she noticed that the two of them seemed to be getting along pretty well already. Hayes had had a partner in the past, for as long as she knew him he's had a partner, he probably knew what to do... well, much better then she did anyway.
"Aulus is a good Agent, I can see you two being quite a good team." They certainly complemented each others strengths and weaknesses.
She looked back to the TV when there was a moment of silence, when Hayes asked a question that caused her to pause and give him a double take, arching her eyebrows. Was she single? "... You mean Partnership?" she asked, or coarse that's what he meant, duh. "Uh, actually no, Executive Seth assigned Grunt Izaya Orihara and I as partners, a few days ago."
She didn't know if Hayes knew Izaya or not, he didn't have anything to do with the Tech department, but Izaya tended to get around and meet as many people as he could.
"How long have you and Aulus been partnered?"
