Katarina was well aware that Gideon knew how to pronounce her name properly…But had, for some reason or another, decided that he needed to say it incorrectly. Perhaps to try and get under her skin, the way she got under his…It wouldn’t have been the first time. H.Y.D.R.A. agents were all trained to unsettle their enemies…It wouldn’t have been the first time that someone had tried to turn tables on her. Though Gideon gave off the feeling that he didn’t care one way or the other so she couldn’t be positive one way or the other.

To be fair, she likely deserved a snide comment for calling him a Grinch. Truly…To leave a small creature stranded atop a shelf like that, was nothing, if not a little grinchy. “I think you do hate kittens…The Contessa would be proud.”

That he picked on something weaker, smaller than himself. Not that the Contessa really had any sort of preference when it came to animals. She surrounded herself with enough shifter’s and were’s that a normal domestic house cat or golden retriever would never do it for her. She liked animals that had a human’s intelligence. They were useful. They were her eyes and ears to places that humans could not be.

Gideon remained with his back to her, and she frowned… She didn’t enjoy speaking to someone’s back. But then again… She wasn’t important enough on his radar to grant much face time. Not that she could blame him. Were their situations reversed, she couldn’t say that she wouldn’t treat him much the same way.

H.Y.D.R.A. and the Contessa had learned from their mistakes….Gideon hadn’t been the only agent they’d ever lost. It was simply that most of them either returned to the fold when they realized they couldn’t run… Or were assassinated by other actives for going against the cause. They’d learned to give their assets a sense of belonging…A family to protect, within in system. It was a comfort that they were allowed…That was brutally used against them. Watching those you care about be punished for your mistakes was…Worse, than any torture. It was most easily done with shifters because of the way they bonded and organized outside of the Institution…Sometimes they remained on their own—The lone wolf, so to speak. Mystique was one of those…But even she seemed to have her family. Katarina knew that being at the Xavier Academy, and not being held in a cell was treason…But so was leaving Rome without permission. She wouldn’t be surprised to find her body littered with red laser sights once leaving the school grounds.

They’d give her a choice…Return to that which she knew—To the family that she knew… Or die. She was a female Judas…However the Contessa was not as forgiving as the good Lord above…Chances for Redemption were grow slimmer and slimmer, until there was no other option left for her but death.

If Katarina were any other girl, she would have flinched at the tone Veritas used with her… But instead her expression remained blank. Gun-metal blue eyes shifted in the light, guarded, because they could not be anything else…But there was no dishonesty in them. They were simply empty… As if she were reflecting back the emotions that others would expect to see…

The auburn haired woman didn’t know how to express herself. Not her true self… She could be a sassy chic teen from Italy without trouble. Vapid and witty. Deadly as a point blank gun shot to the temple, or a blade through an artery… But beyond that, there really is no sense of self.

She was a shifter that had long ago been taught to think in terms of ‘We’.

“Doubtful, X-20. You’ve never been in the mind of a hungry lioness, protecting what belongs to her… For taking revenge, for what has been done to her…There is little more beastly, than when she is asserting dominance or stalking her prey.”, she returned, her lips falling into a delicate frown. She recalled the taste of human flesh stuck between alligator teeth. Recalled throwing it up later when she shifted back.

She listened to him silently, eyes flickering over him the way a pupil would a teacher. Interested, but of course, with ideas of her own. “Look around you, capo… This is the wild. Flatscan’s chasing and murdering mutants…Mutants trying to wipe out humans… Do you know that in some villages in Romania, our kind are able to be hunted certain times during the year—Like duck season?”

“I don’t see where it takes much more than that. Whomever is left standing, at the end of any war, would be considered the victor. Opinion and semantics…They don’t matter… You are what you are. Alpha.”, she returned quietly, her eyes flickering back towards her nails as they slowly shrunk back to normal. They made a strange sliding sound…Like bone grinding together. “I wouldn’t be able to smell it on you, if that weren’t the case.”

She grew silent again when he spoke, her eyes lingering on the floor… Even when he faced her, they never really met his. It was an unconscious, subservient action. It had taken her some time to figure out the mysterious X-20…Veritas, but once she had, once it clicked for her, that he was truly above her in the food chain… That she would be staying to repay the debt she owed…Old habits fell into place. Inwardly she cringed, when he asked how badly Madame Hydra wanted her back. Honeyed dark waves of hair fell in her face as she sighed outwardly…Her tone grave. “Badly. I know…Too much about her operations.”

“I know her secrets. Legally, she is my mother… I was to become her, should something happen to her. I left in the night…Ran. I’ve been running ever since. They’re always just two paces behind me.”
, she explained, omitting the reason she’d fled in the first place. Who even knew if the current Contessa was truly the Contessa? She was sure that she wasn’t the first replacement trained…They had it down to a science. “It is only because of that knowledge that I’ve managed to escape as long as I have… Still, sometimes they catch up with me… And I have to kill them.”

Katarina leaned forward, resting her brow against her folded hands… It almost seemed as if she might have been praying for a moment…But she remained silent, still. Slowly her hands opened, and her fingers slid into her hair—Holding her head, as if it were suddenly too heavy.

“The Contessa will weigh the odds…The cost of attacking the Academy…Or the cost of what I know getting to her enemies.”

Her voice was softer then, smaller as she came to a realization.

“I fear, they will come… X-Men be damned.”

Mood: What to do, need to meet people.

Dorian was only slightly taken aback by the Daylia's tease. He actually wouldn't put it pass Tara to say something like that. bold, sarcastic, just the first two words to describe the young woman in front of him. He closed his eyes and smirked. thinking back to her first comments while considering her question. He stood his full height coming off the car which he had come to lean on. " I'm on the blue team... Alpha, whatever it's called. Not really my thing, but given I'm here because I needed help not much choice. Didn't really expect to join a super human SWAT team in the process." User Image

He placed his hands behind his head as he started walking not really needing to look at her, as he took her in the short while. It was rude to stare after all. He passed her and stopped in the door frame. " I was going to go get out of here but since I already used a pass and the first asking was abit of pain, you know anything fun to do? I'd bug Tara but I don't feel like dodging boulders today's.". The question was out of the blue, but he was genuinely bored, and as he said going to ask for permission to leave was too much of a pain at the moment. He had tour of the establishment and met a few faces, but he generally had no idea what went on from the students point of view. Hopefully Daylia would enlighten him on a few good things to do, or introduce him to other people. It didn't pay to not connect to people. The more friends he had the more information he could get about things. He knew everyone here had powers, beyond what his or even Tara's but finding out one by one frankly scare him. Worse than Tara invoked images of Satan.

final Thought:" I put this off for too long. Time to go meet the gallery and pray I'm not maimed by the end of the day."

Should I? Should I not? Hell I don't know.

Bianca said something about going to help with decorations for prom. That sounded like something fun to do, and something Roland could probably get behind. He’s a big guy, he could be useful and help carry things. Perhaps in a bit he’d try and flag down Isabella, see if anything needed to be lugged around. He was the kind of guy that frankly didn’t care if he was going to be used as a pack mule. If it was for something good, he’d be on board.

Aurelie got a little nervous when she admitted to needing help with her work. To admit that she needed some answers wasn’t something to be nervous about. It was something to admire, to say you don’t need help is something of an issue. The fact that she is trying to be a pharmacist is a laudable goal, something he probably should consider. Then again, getting his GED would be pretty important as well.

“That’s great, I can imagine with all the things you need to know any of us would need clarification. Hank is always helpful. I mean, I know I definitely wish I had someone like him to clarify a few things from the old days.” he definitely needed him when he had to dig a bullet out of his leg. The things he did were answered by Dr. McCoy with a lot of words and phrases, like: “idiotic”, “foolish”, and “You used WHAT size pair of pliers?” He got the tongue lashing of a lifetime with that. But he understood why he was saying that. He was frankly terrified of what Roland had to do to himself in order to survive at certain points. In fact, he was the most vocal and supportive in his therapy sessions when he was brought in. He may have also been the one that petitioned for him to be in the X-Men program, in order to act as another form of therapy.

When she peaked interest at his personal history, he remarked, “Well to tell you the truth, the stories I have are not for the faint of heart.” Roland had quite a collection of scars, each one with a different story to them, “There’s a story to each of my scars, and I have plenty. Though to be fair, my tattoos are a bit better to tell in present company.” he flipped his arms over to reveal the two tattoos on his forearms: Durendal on his right arm, Joyeuse on his left. The two swords of Roland, his namesake, and Charlemagne respectively. These were from when he was first reading stories about Charlemagne and his Paldains. 12 great knights that fought for their king, with great valor and courage. It was something that Roland attempted to emulate everyday, and could even attest to it being the reason, aside from Sonja, why he didn’t become like the others he fought against.

Aurelie said that he wouldn’t make a good chaperone, and that he needed to be merry, “Well, I really wouldn’t know about prom, or anything other than being a protector. Considering I never went to high school.” he likely wouldn’t share anything beyond that, unless he got to know her better. Though it was a start, something that Dr. Grey would likely praise. Unlike most of these kids at the academy, Roland had no formal education, everything he knows he learned from his uncle or books he had acquired over the years. He was a self educated man, in the literal sense. When Dominik came up, it proved to be a bit of a saving grace for him. He’d rather not elaborate on his background as much as he could.

“Dominik is a bit of a character, he’s quiet, but seems like a nice guy. Aren’s actually a pretty good guy, he’s my roommate.” The two of them proved they were quite close friends. Something he could appreciate through those two, “Though the jokes will take some time to grow on me frankly.”

“And with all this talk of prom, I’m considering going now. Though now I need to ask someone out. If you‘ll excuse me I must go about trying to not make a fool of myself. I‘ll catch you around at some point Aurelie.” he finally said about prom. He’d consider asking out Aurelie, such a pretty little thing, but he frankly felt that she was already taken. He was the type to get a vibe on that kind of thing. And with that he got up and looked around. Orchid definitely was not an option. She’d likely break his neck, just as fast as he might break hers. Though now seeing Kerrigan, he thought to himself why the hell not.

Making his way to the redhead, “Hey Kerrigan, got a minute?”

After Eli reached the kitchen, he pondered upon what to plunder from the kingdom of nourishment. He wasn't too sure what seemed appealing to be honest. He looked to the fridge, something cool? Or maybe something colder? His eyes shifting to the freezer. He opened it up and nothing seemed to appeal his appetite as he looked at the microwavable meals and frozen snacks, the nipping air pushing its way towards him, creeping like the reaper's chill.

Closing it, he shuddered and looked at the pantry. Using his power to open the door, the magnetokinetic walked to the pantry and looked at the assorted goodies, and health snacks of course, prime for any mutants growth and studies. He closed his eyes and grabbed at random. His fingers grasped a bag of raisins and the other hand pulled down a bag of Flavor Blasted Goldfish. It was settled. Goldfish and Raisins. Yumm? yeah, sure.

He stepped back and closed the door with his foot, his hands full and he sat down at the island, pouring his snacks into a bowl. He nodded to Leion who had gestured greeting towards him. He looked quite familiar and Eli was having a tad bit of a memory block for a second as to who he was and where he met him.

Then it hit him, it was the guy that the Aerokinetic had collided into when he was racing around the Beach. Seconds later, the scent of Leion's meal met his nose. It smelled delicious. Why was Eli so lazy when it came to preparing food? It in itself was a science, much chemistry was involved in cooking.

"Can I bother you to make me one too?" Eli asked, his voice low. He hated seeming dependent, especially something so easy and meager a task. He hoped he wasn't a bother to the Omega. In kind gesture he slid his bowl over to the Omega to share his snack.

Thoughts: Prom; waste of time if ever there were one

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

It occurred to her not long after arriving that a lot of the talk on campus was not about important matters, but instead something like the prom. While she personally held no reservations about proms or anything of the sort, she never really found much use for it personally. For starters, they rarely played any music she liked; it was rather rare to find today’s youth listening to Siouxsie and the Banshees or 45 Grave. It was also rather hard to find a date for her, considering the scarcity of other girls who played on her particular team as it were. Also, it simply was not worth the hassle if all she wanted to do was dance with a girl with a chance that she’d take her home, especially when all she needed to do was go to the right club on any given night for that.

But still, she could see what might get younger people so excited about something so pointless. Even above the TV incessantly repeating “news” concerning what everyone already knew about when it came to the MRA, as well the blonde girl at the piano playing some rather sweet music, she could hear chatter either from the halls or from random people within the lounge itself. Apparently dancing for a school function was far more important than the future of the mutant race. Anything for a distraction, she supposed. It would all be over soon though, so it did not matter. The mutants would simply use this as a motive to escalate the war, and in their inferiority the humans would be decimated, then all the mutant children could have all the proms they wanted; sounded like a good enough future for her.

It was a thought that just made her little drawing all the more amusing in her head. A faint smile appeared on her face as she added a bit of detailing to the cartoon. She was giving Magneto’s helmet some shading when one of her team mates decided to speak to her. She looked up momentarily to see it was the one that called himself Kraken(she had yet to get on a first name basis with several of her fellow Omegas). While he certainly surprised her coming up from behind, she did not flinch. ”I only major in it,” she said somewhat sarcastically, though with no malice in her tone, simply a lighthearted jab at a fellow team member. She lifted the sketchbook, turning it toward the boy for him to see. ”What do you think?” she asked with a warm smile. Personally, she didn’t think it looked too bad.

She then turned to the familiar redheaded Kerri as she stepped in, taking delight in seeing her in not a whole lot of clothing; apparently she’d just come back from a swim. Her eyes followed the girl as she slipped into an armchair casually. Orchid couldn’t help but smirk at her remark. ”Sounds like a challenge if I ever heard one.” Unlike in Kraken’s case, she’d actually gotten more than a few chances to hang out with the redhead. Not enough that they knew each other’s life stories or anything, but enough to be able to joke around with her without feeling the need to be careful.

She finished up her cartoon and flipped the page of her sketchbook while extending a thin lock of her hair to grab a fresh stick of vine charcoal. If there was one thing her power was good for, it was definitely multitasking. She picked the stick out of her hair with her thumb and the side of her index finger and held it to the paper, returning the loose strand to its previous state with only a thought. She looked up at Kerri once again with a smile. ”Hold that pose,” she said as she began to quickly make a gesture drawing on the paper of the girl. She then exchanged the vine for the charcoal pencil again and worked on the detail, this time taking great care to keep the drawing as close to photorealistic as possible. It wasn’t too hard, as she was rather talented in such a department, but she still went at a slow pace so she didn’t screw up. Charcoal pencils were not as easy to erase as vine.

She was too focused on her drawing to pay attention to Roland’s or another girl’s(Bianca) entrance, but she did raise her eye when another girl(Farren) announced herself to the others. She certainly looked interesting, with her most striking feature being the green hair on her head, something she personally found pretty cool. She knew a little something about seemingly unnatural-looking hair colors. ”Hey,” she offered the girl coolly. For a moment the black with the reddish roots adorning her head morphed into a solid green, something she did to hopefully at least make the new girl smile, and as sort of an unspoken compliment. She sent a wink in her direction as the hair quickly reverted. Whether the green-haired stranger wanted to continue the conversation was up to her.

She turned back to her drawing as Roland approached Kerri, asking to see the redhead for a moment. ”You mind talking here?” she asked the boy, the first time in forever without a malicious tone toward him. ”I don’t want to intrude; I just don’t like pausing in the middle of my work.”

Part of the reason he wore the grin he did was due to not being ignorant to the reaction Aria had given when he was hit with those minute blasts of energy sent his way. Yes, they did cause Christian some discomfort, but that would pass. It always did when he took a direct shot. The other part was due to Quinn’s response of applause. Thankfully, with the energy he had taken in, it gave his spirits a slight lift and he could feel a very small return to normalcy.

Thank you, thank you,” he said with a miniscule bow before standing straight up again. “Glad it passes y’alls test of approval.

Christian wasn’t one to put his powers on display like this, but it was only fair considering he had asked the shorter of the two females what it was she could do exactly. He was just glad Jubilee’s fireworks didn’t rebreak his wrist. That’s all he needed was to be put on the shelf for another month or so. But the still healing injury was feeling a bit tender and, out of unconscious action, he drew his arm towards his chest and began to gently rub it, making sure nothing was out of alignment.

He was caught slightly unawares when Aria asked him about whether or not he could absorb auras. He definitely was curious about that before but… “No dice on that, ma’am,” he said, the grin still set upon his features, “If’n I could… when you touched me with your aura up and runnin’, it’d not have shown as brightly… or possibly not shown up at all. Same with mine.

That didn’t really bother Christian in the slightest though; he knew there were other energy users around that if he needed to, they’d be more than happy to give him a quick jolt. And it just so happened that his team leader was assuredly more than happy to do that whether he wanted the pick-me-up or not. Sometimes it killed him a little inside knowing he needed others help in using his own abilities…

So… what do y’all got on your agendas today?,” Christian asked, hoping to segue the conversation in another direction. “I’m imaginin’ the grand tour’s been done and over with for awhile.” Just then, he felt something fire off in his pocket and he could barely make out a male’s voice… but there was no mistaking who it was that was calling. Just when he managed to fish the communit from his jeans pocket, he heard the final refrains from the good doctor telling him he was five minutes late for his weekly check-up. That was the beauty (or curse) of having a live-in medical staff; they were always up someone’s butt when they were recovering from injury.

Crap, he thought as he pushed his communit back down into his pocket before letting his grin ease up slightly. Looking between both Quinn and Aria, he could only offer a small shrug. “Sorry. Totally forgot ‘bout that,” Christian said, his voice an apologetic tone, “It was nice meetin’ you both. Be seein’ y’all around hopefully.

After speaking, he could only shrug again before offering a small wave and heading off on his way. He knew this check-up would only take a few minutes at the most, a few too many minutes for his liking, but he also knew it was more than necessary. After that, his slate was blank. Christian had absolutely no idea with what to do with the rest of his day. Maybe nap, maybe nap, and maybe relax and take it easy. So very little to do and so very much time to accomplish it all in.

Aria couldn't help but grin as Quinn clapped her approval of Christian. Her grin grew as he begin to talk. Something about his accent made her knees weak. She had a thing for accents. Not incredibly sexually, but she was almost magically drawn to those who had them. Good looks, most likely a nice body, and an accent? She began to wonder if he was single, and thought it a miracle if her was. "Oh, don't go getting excited thinking it passed. It's just good to know that if a giant laser beam of certain doom is coming our way we can just throw you at it and hope for the best." She smiled playfully and gave Quinn a look. This was her sly side.

Of course Aria wasn't always an incredibly nice person, she could be known to be a b***h. She had a rep to keep up, or at least sometimes she'd say that jokingly when she was playing mean.

"Ah, I guess it would be bad if you could absorb it, since you would kill pretty much anyone you touched." She shrugged at the end of her comment towards Christian, and gave Quinn another look. "Uhm.. nothing really. I took the semester off from school, so other than dance classes and Quinn I pretty much just play games on my laptop or annoy my roommate." She raised her hands and gave a gesture similar to a shrug of her shoulders, "I'm pretty simple when it comes to that stuff, and yes grand tour was taken about a year ago."

She raised an eyebrow as she heard something, and as she was about to speak up Christian began digging into his pocket and pulled out a communit, something she just realized she left in her room. She only had two pockets, both on her cardigan and it would simply be annoying. Of course, she could just wear it or something but that would clash with her outfit.

She pursed her lips to one side as Christian told them he was leaving, "Oh, uhm. Good luck on your check up." After a friendly wave back to him he was gone. So now it was just her and Quinn again. "That was nice. Making friends. That's new for us isn't it." Her words were completely teasing of course. "And a hottie at that." Her voice began to immitate some of the girls that were at the institute, "I mean, he was totally a tenner on the scale." She began fanning herself before giggling. "What now?"

User ImageShe didn't turn to look at him at first, though Aren was hardly offended by it. “Ki'somma, the very last thing you need is a gun.” Her tones were made of ice, but not for him. While she could be cold, calculated – even somewhat mean; he'd known her long enough to know, that it wasn't directed at him, but at the agitation the other students were causing her. He didn't even wince at the Columbine reference; while it was nothing he would likely joke about, that she was making up adjectives to describe her mood normally meant for him, that she was extending an invitation for him to brighten her spirits. And even if that weren't the case, Aren wasn't one to care.

He mentioned the effect that her jacket caused, and the bombshell tossed a grin over her shoulder. “The trouble with Scooter is, he wouldn't know what to do with it.” Aren said, leaning forward to whisper it in her ear, as though he were revealing a dark secret just to her. “And trust me, I wouldn't leave you disappointed.” The native rocked back on his heels then, grinning like a Cheshire cat – a velvet laugh passing over his lips.

He'd just about been ready to ask just why the girls about the school were driving her nuts, when the sun goddess started to rant about prom. Just as he'd thought – Cissa didn't like the idea of the night, so he'd not consider asking her, just to hear her complain about how awful the evening she expected it to be. It'd been a quick subject change on her part, which garnered a chuckle soft enough from the native that Narcissa would likely miss it. Already she was drawing the proverbial line in the sand, and he'd not been her company for thirty seconds.

Sometimes, he had to wonder, if she was drawing it for him, or for herself.

Instead of voicing the thought, Aren let the subject rest, segueing with her to Prom, and how Emma expected Narcissa to help with the organization of it. “Really?” The size shifter asked, her little spout enough to elicit more easy laughs from him. “I'd have figured you'd love to pass out silly putty and finger paints.” Obviously, he was joking, but his voice for a second strained to be deadpan. “Were I you, I'd pay a shifter to take on your shape and go in to help out... You know Emma isn't going to give up.

She turned then, and Aren peered down at her with the traces of humor still evident in his expression. ”And while she would know that it wasn't actually you, I think she'd at least appreciate the deviant behavior.” After all, the Omegas were known for their never-care attitudes.

A group of girls passed, giggling in their direction and Aren merely laughed at Narcissa's reaction. Sometimes, she was so touchy about other women around him – increasingly so as prom drew closer. “I think they are going to nominate me prom king at this rate.” He said cheekily, chocolate eyes warm with his amusement. “As I keep getting that reaction everywhere I go...” The cafeteria, his classes... even the library. And now with Cissa... though this time was far much more fun – because it was getting the Omega leader's feathers ruffled. “Maybe they think I'm taking you, and know now who else to put on the ballad.” He winked then, flashing his set of pearly white teeth.

For a moment, he considered actually asking her, but she went off the deep end again, a fustian about how prom was the last thing she wanted to partake in. She took a moment to glare at the girls that seemed to hang about, and like particles in the wind, the girls made themselves scarce. “I think I even saw a button with my face on it...” He joked. “You're scaring away my fans... tsk tsk.” He teased, clicking his tongue against his teeth.

Who are you doing this weekend?” The native inquired, his eyes shifting sideways at her while they walked. “And why wasn't I invited?” Sometimes, he simply couldn't help himself. “Ki'somma, you've known mine is always an invitation... and if all else fails, we'll just kick Dominik out of his room...” Considering the man had been lucky enough to score a room by himself.

Though, Roland didn't bother him too much. Actually, he was kind of funny when he wasn't all batshit crazy. He just needed to lighten up; life is too short to take everything so seriously. However, the size shifter hadn't missed that his roommate had something going on in his head where Cissa was concerned... And while Aren was a cad, he wasn't an a*****e. Their leader in their room with him wasn't a good idea if he wanted to keep peace with Roland.

I have not... but pizza is on the menu.” He stepped closer to her, without thinking about it. It seemed natural to be drawn to her, seemed better to be around her, to drink her in. Others found her crazy, bitchy and evil.

But he couldn't see that.

I think they made fudge cakes too.” For once, he didn't try to make an innuendo; plenty of those would come when they sat down.

And maybe, Raine would be in the cafeteria... so he might ask her for more waffles, and a date to prom.

Aren deposited several slices of stuffed crust, pepperoni pizza on his plate, as well as a Mountain Dew, a chocolate milk, and two pieces of the double fudge cake onto his tray, and carried it back to the table, where he slid the chocolate stuff over to Cissa.

“Bon appetit.”

The cafeteria was as usual, crowded – more of his fan club was around, giggling and uttering the phrase of the day. One had even been brave enough to approach the table, heat flooding her face. “I have a date... sorry.” He said in response to her mumbling. “Though I'm sure I'll see you there, maybe I'll be lucky enough to catch a dance with you.” At that, her spirits brightened, and she practically skipped out of the room, leaving him and Cissa to have some peace.

While you're intent on not going... I think I have to.” He said, gnawing off a bite of his crust. “A lot of girls will be disappointed...” And considering Dom wasn't likely to be going, he'd likely borrow one of his suits...

And hopefully, by the time he saw the girl who had popped in his mind as the perfect date, she would still be available for him to escort.

Alpha - Academy: Library - Catching up on Conversation

User Image

Raine's smile never faltered as Felix looked at her with a look of disapproval, putting his feet back on the table to signify his defiance of her little trick. His gaze quickly returned to his book, apparently not sharing her thoughts on the librarians being more lethal than most gave them credit for. She raised an eyebrow slightly at his suggestion that their might paled in comparison to Magneto, especially because they were crushing on him. The brunette laughed slightly, tossing her hair over her shoulders.

"You men always think you can get away with anything if an old lady looks at you over the rims of their glasses, they're checking you out. Maybe you're not that cute - ever think of that," she said with a smug grin, crossing her arms over her chest. Of course he was cute - but she wouldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing she thought that in any fashion. Besides, it was this kind of banter that always made her glad to see him. The tail end of his statement made her think that there might be more to what he said than met the eye, but she wasn't going to indulge him with tales of her secret crush-life. Raine liked, and got along with, many guys, and yet they always managed to pass her over for some of the more "desirable" girls around the school. That was part of the problem of going to a school filled with mutants - so many of them could do cool things and had rocking bodies because of all the training they did. Sometimes, it was just a little too hard to keep up.

His next glance confirmed her suspicions that he had just been joking the whole time, but there was always that question with him. However, the change on his face brought a look of slight confusion to her features as well, though she let out a laugh as he mentioned the sense of deja vu. Bringing one hand up under her chin, she appeared to be thinking about something before she nodded towards him.

"You know, I kind of feel it too. And I have the sudden hankering for some chinese food. What's that all about?" He extended his hand towards her, the brunette reaching out to take it with a light smile as he introdued himself to her once more. Unfortunately, he pulled back before she had a chance to make contact - he clearly didn't want to make the same mistake twice by opening himself up to contact with a human bug-zapper. Returning to his book, be dropped the news that he had been upgraded to the Omegas, something she already knew but hadn't had time to talk to him about.

"I heard about that, congrats. But really, it's I that should be avoiding you, for fear of the crazy blonde one nuking me in my sleep for tutoring you still," she said simply, dropping her gaze to her arms folded across her chest. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't disappointed by the assignment - now, Narcissa could get her hooks in him and make it even more awkward for it to hang out with her friends. She knew he was kidding with the disease thing, just as she was kidding with being afraid of Narcissa. She didn't fear the girl - she just outright disliked her, for a variety of somewhat understandable reasons. Still, at the end of the day she hoped that it wouldn't prevent the two of them from continuing to be friends, and if she knew anything about him, she had a feeling that it wouldn't stop things on his end. He did seem to like to do things his own way.

Conversation turned to how she had been, the boy motioning for her to take a seat near him. She complied, shaking her head when he asked about the radiation and his fears of her growing a second head. It seemed he always knew what to say to make her laugh - and she didn't miss that fact that he said he enjoyed looking at her head now.

"Nah - another leg maybe, but the doctor assures that everything from the chest up is going to remain perfectly normal. Sorry to disappoint, but I think I'll continue to only remain a freak in the capacity I can throw lightning bolts and short out an entire city block. But, no, everything else has been going alright - trying not to give in to the prom fever that's going around. I already have a dress, so you can see how well that's been going," she said with a chuckle, allowing her bag to slide off her shoulder and only the ground next to her chair. He brought up that she was just too fun to tease, the firefly running her fingers back through her hair with a small shrug.

"Well, you know, I have to be useful around here in some capacity. Anyways, I want to hear about what's been going on in your life - enjoying the team upgrade?" A smile graced her lips as she sat back in her chair for a moment, interested to hear what he had to say about being on one of the more active teams. Some people loved it, others weren't really prepared for all it entailed, but she had a feeling he would be just fine. After all, he didn't normally let things get to him - why should he start now?

Omega: Lounge - Unlikely model?

User Image

The redhead turned her gaze towards the door as a new face walked in (Farren), though she had a feeling she had seen the girl's picture recently. She must be one of the newer recruits. Kerrigan gave the girl a smile as she walked over to the TV, taking a seat with a pen and pad of paper like she was going to take notes. Her eyebrows raised slightly in curiosity, but she said nothing, mostly for fear that she would be interrupting something that the girl really wanted to watch. For now, she just made a mental note to look through the newer files to answer her questions, access to said files being a major perk of rooming with one of the team leaders. Bianca, one of the Alphas, also made an appearance, joining her teammate Aurelie and one of her own teammates Roland. Inevitably, the conversation seemed to turn to prom, one of those things Kerri didn't feel the least bit qualified to join in on. She'd missed the prom the year before not to mention that the few relationships she had with people consisted mostly of training or field exercises - what were the chances someone would ask her anyways?

Orchid said something about behaving being a challenge, the redhead laughing slightly. That girl was a true Omega at heart - still, it was times like this that they really needed to be careful as to what they did and who they did it around. Things were pretty crazy everywhere, and while she enjoyed a field mission just like everyone else, she had to say that she was liking the quiet around the Academy this time around a bit more. Of course, if Prom-mania kept getting worse, she might hope for a Brotherhood appearance so she could get some revenge.

"Hold that pose."

Kerrigan's eyes instantly moved to the source of the voice, tendrils of Orchid's hair moving around to grab various art supplies as the girl started to sketch. Kerrigan's cheeks flushed a light shake of pink as she cleared her throat, now feeling fidgety since she had been told not to move.

"Err, alright. You're not going to make this like one of those caricatures, right, where I have the really big head and tiny body?," she said with a slightly uncertain tone, clearing her throat as she heard footsteps approaching from a direction she was now unable to see without turning her head. Roland's voice rang out, asking if she had a minute for what she guessed was some sort of conversation. Orchid, who was quicker than she in responding, asked if they could have the talk right there, as she didn't want to pause what she was doing. Did she miss some indication that he wanted to have a word along with her? Either way, unless he really insisted, she couldn't think of anything he might say to her that couldn't be said in front of fellow teammates. If it was something in private, it might be better for him to have that conversation with Cissa.

Kerrigan' shoulders moved in a slight shrug, her eyes moving over to try and make contact with him without moving her body too much. She gave him a light smile, nodding as if inviting him to go ahead with whatever he had to say.

"Yea, sure. What's up?"

Daylia gave a nod as Dorian went on, explaining that he was on the Alpha’s. "Ah, I got cha. I’m on the Omega’s myself." She said with a shrug. "It’s not really that… bad… being on a team." She said slowly as her mind went through the last few months on the team. Okay, so it was pretty bad. Just in the last mission alone, the whole Alpha team had come into contact with radiation, Bella had been shot, Christian was nearly killed, and others spent days in the infirmary. The mission before that wasn’t really a mission, they had all just been swept away to some other Halloween world. She shook her head and sighed. "Okay, not going to lie, it gets pretty bad. But when you have other people watching your back, it’s not so bad, I guess." She was now just talking in circles, and was thankful that he had asked his own question.

"Well, it depends on what you’re in the mood for." Daylia shrugged. "Theres the lounge the game room, kitchen. Those seem to be the places I go most often when I don’t want to just stay in my room. Sometimes they call fun little danger room sessions." She moved after him, exiting the garage as she ran her hand over the back of her neck. "So yeah, just kinda depends on what you’re looking for. Though beware, there are all the high school kids walking around talking about prom. Unless of course you’re into that sort of thing." She said with a slight frown.

Daylia came to a halt in the main hall, looking from one direction to the other, debating on where exactly she wanted to go.
"You meet and of your team mates yet?" She asked, knowing that if the answer was no, that would probably be the best thing for him to do at the moment rather than hanging out with an Omega. Though of course she still couldn’t understand why there was such a rift between the teams to begin with. "Personally, I think I’m going to hit the kitchen and get something to eat."

Dorian Flyte
Noir
Garage --> Lounge
Mood: This odd sense of walking into a Lion's den.

" Well that sucks... I was hoping to avoid excitement. Plenty of time to meet teammates... Guess the lounge it is for me. As for that Prom. Been there done that. I'm likely going to be forced to Chaperone then actually being invited. I can can guarantee that one..." his arms fell to his side, his right hand coming up to cup his chin as he went into thought. There was alot to do, and the personal stuff he wanted to rush, which was really agitating, when he wasn't suppose to. He lowered his hand and looked over his shoulder at DayliaUser Image

" Well that's your prerogative. I'll head to the lounge, I guess. And hope I don't get maimed by a sneeze. Such a big place, I guess I'll see you around eventually. Luck with that anyway. Later..." He started walking heading towards hte lounge. As interesting as Daylia seemed, he had a sense that she wasn't really the social type. He noticed that she did talk in circles, so she wasn't one to converse with. Atleast not until he got to know her better. Something he could do over a period of time, but in the now he had others to meet and greet.

Had he not taken a tour he would have been lost but his memory was awesome, and he found the lounge filled with a few girls and atleast one guy out of the corner of his eye. It looked like an art session or something going on and he immediately noticed the moving hair attached to someone else s head and successfully resisted the urge to be surprised. Not that that was easy. Anyone who noticed him he simply gave a salute like wave before finding an empty chair to sit in, and doing so. With so many people and an activity going on he felt more awkward and declined to introduce himself not wanting to interrupt. Till they were done, he could sit and watch and gather whatever he could on what kind of people they were. It might be a bad habit but it was his bread and butter the last few years of his life, so he had no real intention of giving it up.

Final Thoughts I haven't seen anything much like I will see here in the many months to come... So sue me if I retain the capacity to be surprised.

---------------------¦The agenda for today? Quinn mentally paused to think seriously about the question Christian had asked. Her head would tilt slightly to the side, eyebrows knitting together as she found herself drawing a complete blank. She hadn't woken up with the necessity or even the great desire to do anything specific today. Well, aside from making an attempt to fit in, of course. But, making friends wasn't exactly her strong suit. Aria did rather well in that department for she wasn't as worried about so many things like Quinn was. Having one best friend, though, was thoroughly comforting since there was just something about being utterly alone that wasn't exactly appealing to her. Aria was rather perfect as her best friend, in a strange way. Their personalities were on different ends of the spectrum, but the red head had an easy way of cracking Quinn's shell. She didn't like to think of herself as much of a shy girl, but it had always been in her nature to be introverted rather than extroverted. Besides, being an introvert wasn't all that bad, right?

Hopefully, she'd even end up forging a friendship with the male before them. They were all on the same team after all and Quinn could only assume that she'd be seeing the Omegas more often than she would the Alphas. As of now anyway, she didn't know any members from the latter team and could only make guesses as to how well she'd get along with them. The two girls seemed to get along well with Christian, which was a good sign for their first day as Omegas. It would have left her with a rather horrid feeling if she were to start this journey off with friction among teammates. Quinn was one for smooth sailing all the way, if and when it came to any sort of relations with other people that were like her. When it came down to those "normal" humans though, she didn't really care to establish a bond with them. They had been cruel enough to leave her alone in this world, her family being nothing more than a memory now.

The brunette's head and veil of confusion would return to normal when Christian's communit went off and he announced his departure. Something about a check up? Quinn's eyes would shift from the device to the male as he waved and she let an easy grin form on her lips, "See ya' later." She sang in farewell, throwing the first two fingers of her left hand up in a casual salute.

Her grey eyes would watch him go momentarily before Aria's voice rang at her side once, "For now.." Quinn chuckled in response to her mention of making friends being new for them. She suspected that today would be a day filled with meeting new faces, "It'll be easy for you though. You don't suffer from being socially inept." She let her hip bump playfully against the girl's as her laugh kicked up once again. This time, it was at the impression of the younger girls around the Academy, "You're getting way too good at that." Quinn teased back as she picked up the bag she'd dropped on the ground earlier. She slung it over the outside of her shoulder, letting it hang off of her casually.

Once again, she'd begin to think about what exactly there would be for them to do during the day. From what Quinn recalled, they weren't required to do anything for the day yet, just go about it as they normally would. So, what was normal? She'd hum for a second, as if it would help her think better, "Maybe you should show me your new room.." She'd attempt to suppress that secret hiding smile once again. She wanted to surprise Aria. The last of Quinn's stuff would likely be up there by now, she'd just needed help moving some of her heavier things. Everything else she'd been able to get on her own. It wasn't like she owned an excess of items. Well, aside from clothing, but what girl didn't? ¦

Name: Brown, Farren Brown but you may call me Mother Nature

Location: Lounge

Snarky Remark: Error: File Not Found

╘════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╛

User ImageAt the sound of her initial greeting being returned, Farren shifted her head and saw it was the artist with unbelievably long green hair who had addressed her.

Wasn't her hair just-? Farren's mental inquiry was explained when her Omega teammate winked at her and her locks shifted back to the black and red coloring the floramancer had seen on her earlier.

"That's pretty cool." Farren tilted her head to the side in consideration. It had been so long since Farren had originally flooded her hair roots with chloroplasts for it to sustained the green coloring she wondered if she could convert it back, if even for a little bit. With that running through her mind, she turned to the television set just as a new speaker stepped up to the podium, hands absentmindedly running through her own green strands in consideration. The droning tone of the politician soon became white noise as Farren's eyelids became heavier and heavier with each uttered statement.

After the fourth time Farren's chin brushed against her amulet and the stored UV energy jolted her head up, startling her awake, she gave up on obtaining any viable information from the television. It was still the same guy from earlier, still explaining the same thing when he first came on air (which Farren was still clueless about). That sealed it, politicians were right up there with lawyers on mastery of DoubleSpeak.

With a groan, Farren stretched out her position from on the ottoman, and moved the furniture piece back to its original position. Someone was now occupying the chair the footrest had been next to, effectively startling the green haired woman by their presence (Dorian).

"Oh, hey there. How goes it?" Farren grabbed a nearby US News and World Report off a table before settling into a chair of her own, rubbing the kink in her neck with her free hand. She halfheartedly thumbed through it, figuring she'd wait till the hair manipulator finished her art before Farren would suggest the mutants do something. Maybe by that time Scott would have given her clearance to go into town for some clothes. Her mystical looking wardrobe from Limbo could only cut it so far.

"So what is there to do for fun around here now that you lot have effective quarantined the mall?" She chuckled to herself after posing the question to everyone in the lounge. The mall, they destroyed the mall, the hang out haven for teenagers everywhere. No wonder everyone was pissed lately.

"We never did anything like that when I was enrolled at the mansion. That's pretty damn impressive, bravo." Farren mock applauded the feat, which was, as she had said, very impressive. If the New Mutants had ever pulled a stunt like that, or the Paragons for that matter, their hides would have been taken as trophies and probably showcased in the den. Of course, the Hellions would have never gone through with it, too many of the prissy hussies lived for the weekend excursions to blow their weekly shopping budget or max out daddy's credit line.

Farren tapped her fingertips in quick succession on the arm of the chair; she was thoroughly bored and prayed to the PTB someone could come up with something. Hell, at this point the Danger Room was starting to look appealing. She contributed such a heinous thought towards the fact she had spent too much time in fighting Limbo.

"At least I've chosen a side."

Aria, too used to Quinn's thinking face, simply ignored the girls stupor.

She, however, let out a loud laugh as the girl spoke. "That's a good one. While you may be socially inept, I'll be the one in jail for beating the crap outa some moron for pushing my buttons." It was quite well known that Aria was a hot head. She had managed to, surprisingly, not get into (too many) fights so far. She had been at the institute for vaguely a year and had only been in a few scuffles, mainly ones off campus and not reported. Who would call in that some red headed chick just beat their a**?

Her grin reappeared when Quinn commented on her mimicry, "Yeah, sometimes I think that it might be a secondary mutation... or maybe I just caught the stupid." She laughed again, loving that it was so easy to make fun of some of the girls at the school. Of course, she didn't mean any of it harmfully. The girls here were... normal. It was weird. She half expected the school to be full of freaks, but upon arriving found it full of absolutely normal (some discolored) kids. It was honestly still strange to her. Mutants were treated worse than any group of beings on the planet. They were like the gays and blacks of old times mixed together. She figured it was because mutants were a threat to their normal lives. Mutants were one step up on the food chain. They were stronger, smarted, faster, even better looking (okay, not always) than normal humans.

She blinked and came out of her thoughts, "Oh. Uhm, they said they'd send someone to my room to collect my things and move it there this morning. They were supposed to send a message over the comm unit... but I forgot that in my old room..." She shrugged, "No pockets." She looked at the mansions and let out a sigh. "Guess I gotta go retrieve that along with my laptop and stuff and head to the new room."

With that she walked on, suddenly turning. "Oh, you better show me your room after." Aria rarely saw the other rooms of the mansion, mainly because no body really spent much time in their rooms. Aria's own room showed nothing that she stayed there. She had yet to get around to going out and getting posters or anything for it, and that seemed to not be going to happen anytime soon since the mall was ruined. She turned and began the trek back to her room.
