Robayn Okay, this is my idea that I'm picturing from all of your contributions plus some: An isthmus (for those who aren't all about geography, that's a thin THIN stretch of land [usually fine sand] between two large bodies of water) stretches between two seas - [name] night and [name] day. Dayside is bright, sparkling blue and green waters that stretches far and wide at the base of great, golden mountains. The peaks are crested by clouds which rain down pleasant, warm rain onto the mountains, which then funnels together to form a majestic waterfall. Nightside is dark, bottomless waters that have no end, becoming one with the night sky which sparkles with white and amber colored stars and a constant, violet aurora borealis. Following the isthmus leads to the castle itself, which appears to have been lifted from the ground by a mighty, colourful army of balloons tethered by magical ribbon. Stairs of the land itself remain attatched to the castle in the sky, sand stairs from the isthmus, rocky stairs to the emerald forest beyond, and even water slides from some of the ramparts into the oceans below. Having the oceans is for pirates, if we have pirate co-hosts, the emerald forest is for the Prince of Thieves, and the Castle is for the Queen and her Knights. I love this! Is this our new plot?

Having the oceans is for pirates, if we have pirate co-hosts, the emerald forest is for the Prince of Thieves, and the Castle is for the Queen and her Knights. I like the scenery bit a lot. It's absolutely beautiful. My only concern is the number of sub-themes... in order to do it well, we'd need a ton of characters. I think we need to do Pirates vs. Navy or court or a queen and a prince of thieves come to steal her heart (literally, for a disturbing, dark twist). Trying to combine that many ideas runs the risk of losing the roleplayers' suspension of disbelief and overwhelming the writers and artists, causing a loss of detail. I think that since Angel's room is so solidly pirates, we should send our love to the court ideas and the Robin Hood idea, especially if we have a castle in the sky. Otherwise we're going to step on their toes, and I somehow doubt that we want to be that room.
Maybe instead of balloons, the whole castle could just be supported by that staircase? That would be fascinating to draw, and would be visually stimulating. Plus, balloons are generally a pain in the [DONKEY] for artists, and a repetitive one, at that. I agree with your changes. And the story between the thief and the queen makes the story all the more interesting! But,I don't think having pirates will really make the other room mad. We could just change their motives to something different. And taking away the balloons does make the castle seem more magical and mystical! It kind of reminds me of a pose in Enchanted book! But what would exactly be making the castle float? I was thinking something like fairy dust but that's to similar to Peter Pan stare

I was thinking a simple staircase, going for miles on end straight from the clouds in to the river. Magical! >w< Also, I like how the the prince steals the queen. That will certainly be exciting! That could definitely be the climax, and if we're not doing pirates, we'll do courts and thieves. We definitely cannot be that room, we must be that room.

Even if it doesn't make them mad, we're a completely separate room, and we should celebrate that fact by making ourselves as different as possible!

Now I keep thinking of a glass staircase 3nodding I'm liking how the castle is sounding. I always liked huge mystical places! And the river part reminds me of this picture http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3205/3105347202_d477d87525.jpg

But that sort of scene with a more bizarre castle would be really awesome!

What if the staircase goes up endlessly, but the castle is on a sort of improbable landing just above the treetops? The staircase could go straight through the castle!

I never thought of the castle as creepy. Just kind of mystical and large. Maybe one side could be bright and glasslike. And the other could be darker and creepier. Half and half?

It just needs crazy architecture to emphasize the ethereality of the dream state. Towers where towers don't belong, doors in the middle of walls... stuff like that.

More towers. But I agree. That sort of nonsensical architecture... maybe without some of the more creepy elements, though. As for the other pictures you posted, I really like them. I especially like the stairway on the first and the architecture of the second...
