There was more cheering for Ariane as Before joined Bix. "YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!" he yelled out in his best impression of a certain television show's opening credits. Too bad he didn't have any shades to go with it but hey, what Before lacked in skill he made up in enthusiasm. And he had a metric <********> of enthusiasm.

"I-I don't mean to hit things I'm not supposed to hit, Bix!!" Before pouted. "Does that mean I should switch sides so I end up hitting those creature things by accident instead?" he tilted his head in thought, wincing at the roar of Leon's Chainsaw. He gave the larger Hunter a slightly anxious wave and thumb's up, partly in thanks to his earlier encouragement.

<Ugh, fanboils... Can't you go get yourself some ghoulfriends instead? Preferably those with them long legs~ Mmmm->

"Balls right back to you," She flashed a grin at Bix and then at Before, obviously in a good mood from her practice, "Just don't let mine meet yours, or it might result in a lot of pain... For you anyway." Her grin widened as she laughed; it was hard to tell how serious she was, regarding her previous statement. While it could not be heard, Kintama joined in the laughter, finding his wielder to have a sense of humor that complimented his.

... It was weird to hear someone else's laughter in her head. Weird, but she could get used to it, along with the million other things she had to get used to since arriving on this island.

Annoyed that his shot had missed where it was supposed to have gone and irrationally irritated by several other matters, Gale glowered down at the rifle in his hand, which was thrumming loudly in his head, the metal hot beneath his hands. Jinhai was still remaining suspiciously silent, but it was clear that he was eager, the gun almost vibrating with his twisting, undulating, vibrant emotions. Though he was not speaking, Jinhai's feelings were clear within Gale's mind, the near crazed hunger pulsing through him and sliding into Gale's own feelings.

He glanced over at Before, still flailing madly about with an enormous wheel, which he at first seemed to just topple around aimlessly with. However, after several tries, gasps, staggers, and flops onto the ground, the dark haired Before managed, quite successfully, to throw the heavy metal wheel.

Meanwhile, somewhere on the other side of both Before and Bix, Ariane was swinging around what looked to be chains. Her movements were graceful and confident - and quite on target. The force of which her weapon hit the target it aimed for was spot on, or at least it seemed to be from Gale's point of view. Casting a look at Jinhai that clearly said See? THAT'S how it's supposed to be!, he looked back at Ariane.

"Nice balls," he said mildly, with the faintest hint of a frown on his face as his gaze flickered around, scrutinizing the other hunters.

Jude had arrived when summoned and watched as the little lecture took place - it was odd to think of everything in terms of video games but it was easier to digest than just letting it go without that little tidbit. It was even stranger to watch someone get pretty much used as a dummy and walk away from it ...unscathed to a point. It was good to see it in practice.

He looked toward the cutouts when they were directed toward them and tilted his head as he held onto Yom's hourglass rather than keeping her 'tucked away' in her unused form. Yom also was silent during the display and confirmed nor denied any of it - it was as if she was learning as well.

'We do sssomething now?' Yom asked softly within his mind a feeling of excitement started to well up as he gave a small nod and approached one of the cutouts. His hand moved to grasp the middle of the hourglass careful not to be too heavy handed with his grasp due to the glass at hand. He wasn't sure how he would go about this whole attack but it'd work itself out in the meantime.

Upon grasping the middle and squeezing a bit the tips extended slightly with the middle one poking forward the most, it happened at both ends but for now he focused toward the part that pointed toward the cutout he approached. With no confidence in his action he moved forward and stabbed toward a random part of the cutout hoping with his blind flailing he would hit something that wasn't himself or a fellow hunter.

Upon hitting the target he felt a surge of elation as Yom uttered a sound that seemed as if she was greatly pleased by the impact. The young man grinned for once in spite of himself. The feeling of happiness caused his stomach to churn oddly. Ugh he needed to do something about that before something bad happened...

'More!' Yom demanded excitedly, 'Do it again!'

This seemed like just the beginning of the raising emotion much to Jude's dismay (or joy) as he gave a nod to the voice in his head and moved forward a bit to the point where he was behind the cutout and made a swing backwards with the pointed butt of the hourglass toward the cut out trying to aim for a limb or even better the midsection of the cutout he was attacking.

The attack missed this time causing him to stumble back due to his own momentum from the swing. He uttered a soft growl and Yom gave a disappointed hissing sound.

'Do better,' she growled at him in disappointment.

Jude glared down at the hourglass and sighed a bit. He was doing the best he could! Why couldn't it just shut up for a moment while he tried to get a better angle on the damn cutout? He straightened out his stance as he turned to face the cutout this time, it was perhaps too early to try anything fancy it was his mistake the first time around!

Lifting up the weapon he positioned himself sort of similarly to how fencers did on the television and then moved to stab forward.

The attack hit home hitting just off to the center of the cutout the feeling of elation from Yom returned causing a moment of even harsher queasiness to build inside him. Swallowing hard he backed away and readied his next attack.

He turned the weapon around in his hand or at least tried to, the turn around was fumbled and clumsy as he tried to move forward and stab forward with what was the 'butt' of the hourglass signified by the slightly shorter spikes. Later he would practice trying to hit things on the back swing because his first attempt of that was embarrassing and he didn't really feel like making a complete a** of himself.

There was an endless sound of 'ssss' going off in his head and any moment now he felt as if he would explode.

This time he aimed the hourglass points toward the leg of the cutout his body stooping a bit to hit the target.

The hit struck truly and he stood there with Yom pretty much going ecstatic within his mind. She wanted him to hit again, to hit more, to hit faster but right now he felt that if he felt any more elation and happiness he would lose it right there on the cutout. He really didn't feel like vomiting all over things during a training session so he quickly moved away from the cutout and tried to swallow down the urge. His insides felt as if they were vibrating with the excitement that Yom felt. The damn emotion was too contagious.

One of the best things a soldier could do, Davey had learned early on, was stay silent and unnoticed, watch, listen and learn. Only then did you actually try to carry out your superiors orders, hopefully with less chance of making a total arse out of yourself.

... Davey wondered if it would actually work that way here. Considering his 'partner'... probably not.

~Was that a slight against me?~ Azrael demanded. ~I would be insulted, if you had the intelligence to actually form a proper insult. As it is, I am simply horrified by your lack of wit. Not to mention- ~

Davey quickly materialised the tag into its proper sword form to try and cut off the latest b***h session before it really got going. Around him, the other Hunters were well underway. Time to stop studying their moves and try making some of his own.

Hefting Azrael in his hand, Davey frowned at the unusual weight. Normally, he'd try using two hands for the long sword. But, yeah, not exactly going to happen, was it?

With a scowl on his face, Davey lunged forward, swinging Azrael at the target. The slice connected, quite a decent blow. Even Azrael himself stopped ranting. After a moment's pause, the sword said, ~Do that again.~

It seemed that their teacher wasn't messing them around, if Azrael could sense something different enough to want to continue. One corner of Davey's lips curled up into a smirk. Not a bad start.

~Again! I've met snails faster than you,~ Azrael complained.

Davey rolled his eyes. He had no idea what the sword would even do after building up a FEAR charge - grow a literal cutting tongue to match his metaphorical one? Shout people to death?

But it felt good to finally be doing something again instead of hiding out in his room or whatever abandoned corners of the Hunters facility that he could find. Davey had no illusions about Azrael quieting down if Davey obeyed, but since their aims coincided, it didn't do any harm.

A strike from above this time, he thought.

Both Hunter and sword let out triumphant laughter as the move connected. The difference was that Davey's was a chuckle and Azrael's was more of an evil cackle - that thankfully only Davey could hear.

"Practice makes perfect," Davey said quietly.

~If that's true, then you need all the practice you can get, whereas I need never do so again,~ came the haughty reply. ~Now get a move on, I'm almost there!~

Things were going smoothly so far. Davey hadn't had a problem with Azrael's weight, or his new, slightly off-centered balance. Too good to be true? He hoped not.

~Come on, come on, come on. I'd tolerate thinking if you were actually any good at it, but you're better off sticking to grunting and swinging blunt weapons around.~

"Like you?" Davey asked the sword.

There was a hissing sound, as though Azrael actually had breath to suck in. ~I am so razor-sharp I'm surprised you have cut your other arm off yet, you little-!~

It was getting easier to tune the bitching out. Thank God.

Third time lucky, Davey stabbed at the target. It would be nice to think he actually could ram it through.

~Not your best move,~ the sword commented as the tip of the blade barely caught the target before deflecting off to one side. ~But it will do. Tell that woman we're ready.~

Davey shrugged. Three for three hits, he was happy. He wouldn't have been surprised to have been the worst in the bunch - hey, he had a pretty good excuse - but this was gratifying. Restored a bit of pride and let him know that one missing arm wasn't going to automatically make him the weakest link.

Several others had called out that they were done, so Davey added his voice to theirs. "We're ready over here, too."

Before was, to put it mildly, internally QQ-ing at his pathetic performance. Vanna had somehow managed to calm him down and assure him that he would damn well do better the closer and more bonded and more familiar they became with each other. The weapon had tried to console her Hunter by insisting that he wasn't a fighter to begin with and that he didn't have the necessary training for it.

Before was still QQ-ing. Perhaps not as much because he managed to crack a grin at Gale's remark. "Her balls are definitely bigger than mine," he laughed. And then Jude appeared and Before stared at the other Hunter's weapon. 8OOOOOO???? What was that?! It looked like a paperweight! Duuuuuuuuuuuude, was he going to use it to bludgeon things? 83333 Oh oh oh!!! MAYBE they could practice bashing things in together! 8DDDDD

Vanna was immediately horrified of the idea she would have to share her Hunter's attention. Her dismay multiplied when Davey demolished his cardboard target and could hear Before's squeal of utter idolization.

"AAAAAAAAWESOOOOOOOOOMMMMME!!!!" *0*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he cheered, "Bix, After, Boss, Dude, that was just AMAZING!!!!!" Take note, he is only running on pure, unadulterated admiration. Someone should really keep the sugar and caffeine away from Before.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 25, 2011 9:11 pm

At the loud yell, Davey spun around, almost expecting one of the monsters from the first 'mission'. Seeing that it was only one of the other Hunters, he relaxed and lowered Azrael. Like Aria said, it wouldn't be a good idea to test the theory that they couldn't injure one another yet - especially not when their weapons were charged up.

So the guy - Before, he thought? - was cheering for Davey? Times like this, he needed his other arm to scratch his head in confusion. He didn't think Azrael would appreciate being stuck tip-first in the dirt, especially not for an impulse that faded once his injured shoulder gave a pained twinge at being asked to move that way.

"Uh, thanks," he said instead. "So you're always this e- energetic?"

It had been on the tip of his tongue to say 'excitable' instead, seeing as how this was the guy who'd gotten foot-in-mouth disease over Davey's missing arm. Surrounded by people with weapons, it seemed best to stay as PC as possible. But yeah, it was looking like Before liked to make noise.

Davey shrugged. Could have been worse, he decided. At least they were on a safer topic this time.

"Congrats on getting it yourself, too. And to your weapon, of course," he added, as Azrael began bitching about how most of Before's praise ought to be going to him for doing the work, not to Davey.

Leon: OXXX Weapon charged!

There was something to the stillness of the instructor's pose that was... off. She didn't seem to notice the late arrival of Madison. Nor did she pay attention to the blast of Jerry's weapon Roar, or the odd dance-like movements of Candace as she tried to use her weapon to its best effect.

Bix's call made Aria blink and shake her head, as if snapping out of a dream. Or was she communicating to her own weapon? "Good," She said, "Everyone keep at it. Bix, keep hold of your weapon. Do not put it away. You may keep shooting should you desire."

She fell silent, the teacher grinning at a comment no one else could hear. Aria began to walk amonst the students, nodding with approval at the antics of some while frowning at others. They... really need more practice, she thought, wincing at Candace. To be fair, however, Aria had no idea how to use those shoe-blades either.

As each hunter landed strike after strike, the runes on their weapons began to glow. It was soft at first, but after the third strike there was a noticable glow. It wasn't bright to be blinding, but there was a... spark of something that wasn't there before.

"Trainees, attend!" She said loudly, cutting through their conversation. "Your weapon's hunger is sated. But now... Now they are burning with something. Can you hear it? The extra buzz to their voice, the agitation? All it takes is one..." She turned, whipping her weapon diagonally across the cutout as a puff of mist coated it. "Two," Another strike, this time horizontal. "Three!" The final strike was vertial, top to bottom. The rune on her weapon glowed as Aria hefted her flamethrower up, a wide edged grin on her face.

"Now you might be wondering, what now? My weapon should be sated, right? Wrong! Your weapon is now burning with stolen Fear! This is their lifeblood, their energy! Without Fear, your weapon will become nothing. But!"

She pointed her weapon towards them, holding it in one hand. "Three strikes is all it takes. You may attack more if you wish, but it does nothing. If you force your weapon into its non-weapon form, the charge will be lost. Don't do this. Instead..." Aria turned towards the cardboard cutout, her words soft. "Instead, just let it go."

A cold, chilling wind picked up and swirled around the muzzle of her weapon. It began to get colder as a ball of... something formed at the tip of her weapon. Aria pulled the trigger. Immediately the hunteress slid back as her weapon shot forth a bright laser-like attack complete with flakes of snow swirling around it.

All in all, it would have been more impressive if it didn't look like a shoop da whoop.

By the time it was finished, Aria had slid back several feet. She was no longer standing -- one hand and knee was rested against the ground, her other foot parcially buried in the grass. There were even ruts in the ground showing where she moved. The only thing that was steady was the hand holding her flamethrower, its tip still smoking.

After a moment, Aria climbed to her feet and calmly walked to the cardboard cutout. There wasn't a hole in it, nor was it on fire. Her flamethrower did not seem to shoot flames: it shot ice. Aria studied the three-inch thick ice that covered the cutout before leaning back, her heel lashing out to kick it. Upon being struck, it shattered, falling to pieces.

"This," she said, using her still smoking weapon to gesture at the pile of ice shards. "This is my weapon's Fear attack. Why don't all of you show me yours?"

(( OOC: ZOMG WEAPON FEAR ATTACKS!

Before you can use your weapon's attack, it must be charged.
You can charge your weapon by successfully hitting your opponent three times.
-- Note that this only works against Fear-opponents! If for some reason your hunter is being attacked by a normal human, you can NOT use your weapon's Fear attack against them!
-- Other hunters? Hunter weapons are made out of Fear. Try to hit those and steal their Fear. :3

My suggestion: whenever you battle as a Hunter, keep track of your hits and misses. It can be as simple as the X's and O's as seen above, or something fancier.
-- It takes 3 hits to charge your weapon.
-- As soon as you hit the first 3, you have ONE CHARGE.
-- If you hit 6 times, you do NOT get to use your Fear twice.
-- If you want to use your Fear more than once, your Hunter must rank up ICly!
-- You do not have to use your Fear attack as soon as you have it charged.
-- If your weapon returns to its non-weapon form, it loses the charge.

So. Now you've charged your weapon. How do you use it?

Hunter weapon Fears work just like Halloween Fears. Look up your weapon's special ability. Pick one of the following that sounds close to what your weapon's Fear is. If you're stuck, please hit me up with a PM and I will be happy to assist! If something really doesn't work out, we'll... find something. : DDD

Fears are split into two categories: Offensive and Defensive/Supportive. Please note that Fears may change at any time for balancing reasons, or edited for clarification. If you have questions, please also shoot me a PM!

Please note that the values displayed here are for Hunters and Y2 Halloween Students.

(( Cass is 'Battle Cry'.))

.... It really had looked like Shoop Da Whoop. Cass had been in a bit too much awe to comment on that, but it had. It was amazing. However, she had this moment where she looked down at her own weapon. W...which half did she...oh god, what did she.... oh god. This dual-half weapon thing was going to be the end of her, but she'd figure it out. Maybe.

Cassandra, Nicodemus's voice buzzed, though it sounded as calm as ever. You only need the Gunblade for this. He said. Cass seemed to flounder a bit on how she was supposed to just... drop the gun, but she looped the chain around her arm to keep it off of the ground before grasping the hilt of the gunblade with both hands. It was probably an odd sight, seeing such a small girl holding up such a large blade, and she seemed a bit awkward handed with it to begin with.

However, it seemed that at least someone was giving her instructions in her head, shifting her footing to try and be as stable as possible (and fixing it several times before it seemed Nicodemus was content), her attention turned onto the cardboard cut-out.

The faintest traces of green began to glow from the crevices in the blade's handle, Cass trying not to frown at how ridiculous she felt standing there holding up the blade back, getting ready to thrust with it. Or that had to be the guess based on how she stood. But even the edge of the blade gained that same faint green as the handle had.

Step forward with one foot and use your body, not your arms, to thrust forward. Nicodemus said, and Cass took a deep breath, following just those instructions. It was awkward, to say the least, using the turn of her body to shove the blade in her hands forward.

CRUNCH

It smashed into the cardboard cut-out, the tip piercing through it and forming several tears in it. When she pulled the blade back out - a task that nearly had her toppling over by itself, the top half of the cut-out wilted over. Cass stared at it for a moment before several more pieces around where her blade had hit it fell out as well, leaving a shattered looking hole as well as a very droopy cardboard cut out.

We need to work on your strength if that's going to be more effective, Cassandra Norris.

Cass made a face at the voice in her head.

"i-I think that's all there is........ That's what he said to do...."

[[ Bix is 'The Mind' ]]

Bix watched Aria, clearly impressed and soooo much more into her now. He actually was sort of gaping because what she did was AWESOME. He had to walk back to his cutout because he'd been wandering all over the training field talking to people. In the meantime he paused to watch Cass attack. There was something great about seeing a weapon glow and do crazy s**t. He lived for this stuff. Being a geek totally paid off once you found out that crazy magic weapon stuff was real.

He finally got back to his cutout which currently only bore 3 holes from his previous arrow attacks. Mina thrummed in his hands and was still making strange purring noises in his head. She sounded a bit exasperated when she began to speak to him.

I need release Bixy.. her voice was slightly groaning.
This is.. really inappropriate. He bit his lip and rubbed his eyes. He impatiently clutched his marble, waiting for instructions from the weapon or some sort of divine inspiration.
I can guide you. Let me show you how...
Bix relaxed knowing his weapon could help. Instead of an explanation he just received a mental image, a stance, and so he tried to duplicate it.

He spaced his legs and took the bow up as if he were taking a normal shot. Instead of aiming right at the target he aimed up into the sky. The gems on the bow began to glow red and revealed runes inside of them. They pulsed, the energy flow making the feathers ruffle with an unseen wind.

Don't be forceful Mina put on an innocent voice for a moment. It's our first time together.

Her sexually charged talk seemed to severely distract her wielder. When he pulled back and released his energy arrow it flew up into the sky and suddenly there were a few arrows, more than there were before. They rained down on his target but not a single one hit. The grass sizzled where the arrows hit, but the target itself remained untouched.

In his head his weapon was making 'happy sounds' but Bix looked displeased with his performance. He missed! All those arrows and not a single hit?
