The next gym destination was one poke hadn't been to before, and approaching the area she was immediately aware of the huge piles of trash lying everywhere. Had she taken a wrong turn and ended up in a trash heap instead of a gym? No, apparently this place contained a ToT guy too.
Who was also quite nuts by the looks of things. Or it was because he was a hobo, she couldn't be sure. But he did mention that if she farmed some 'rock candy' for him, he would give her a badge. At least this appeared easier then the challenge with Desu.
Taking the three items with her, she set off into the mountain of trash to begin mining

Adjusting the strap bag over her shoulder, poke lit the lantern and set it on top as the surrounding area grew darker the father she went in. She was still wondering how it would be possible to mine anything out of a heap of trash when she reached what she believed a suitable area, but when she looked closer at the walls, she realized that there was stuff other then trash here.
Taking the pickaxe, she gave it a mighty swing at the rock, a loud Clang echoed around the area as metal clashed against rock, or rock candy in this instance. It took only a few whacks, and she had been able to score herself a pieces of candy. Great! now only...29 more pieces to go....

The clanging sound from her pickaxe continued to ring as Poke slammed the object into the walls, grunting with the amount of effort she put into swing the item. Although as she kept the effort up she found that she wasn't finding any more rock candies. Perhaps it was just this place she was swinging? she moved a little over and looked at the rock carefully for any signs of the stuff.

As soon as she begun to strike at the rock, she realized she had chosen right, as two more rock candies tumbled down to the floor to her feet. She threw those pieces into her bag, and then struck the wall again as hard as she could. It was hard work mining, but in a sense it was a good stress relief too. She was getting annoyed at how she kept losing to desu or the other gym leaders, at least here she was making progress..albeit very slowly

Vero's antennae twitched several times as it felt the clanging and clinging of someone's pickaxe at work. Blinking, it leaned over the precipice of the small cliff it and Ulmuka were upon, espying a semi-familiar figure: the ghoul who had been brained by a table back at the waitering for Desu and Rage. "Any luck down there?" it called. "And are you any better?"

Minnie feel so bad after losing to other gym leaders. So she decided to mine here.
"Drat. No rock candies..."
Just when she was about to walk to another spot, THUD!
She tripped on something, and then fell off.
"Ugghh.. I swear i'm going to find a rock candy! And... Not to get tripped on whatever i got tripped on...."

And so, Minnie stood up, and mines again.... Suddenly, she felt something down on the ground. She picks it up. Its a rock candy!
"YAY! A rock candy! Great, i'm so going to try mining again!"
And she stays on that spot, hoping to find another rock candy.

Minnie felt so energized. But the bad thing is, she didn't find anymore rock candies. She sat down on the ground.
"Awww man... This is so hard! But i'm staying in this spot until i find more!"
And she stays on that spot, hoping to find another rock candy.

CLINK! Minnie felt something on the ground. She tried to reach it, and bring it up. She found 1 more rock candy!
"Awesome! hey, what's that? I think there's more!"
And so she dig a little bit deeper, and find 3 more rock candies!
"Great! I got 4 now, guess i'm going to keep on digging here!"

(( I'm roleplaying a different character then Astra atm, XD; )) It was pretty hard to see the surrounding area, her lantern only giving her a small amount of light to work by, but she had been lucky enough to get herself another piece of candy. As she raised her axe again, a voice from above caused her to pause, the finned ears on her head flicking with the sound. She looked up towards the sound, realizing that there was a cliff above where she was working with enough light to make out someone else there, some sort of figure with antenna and...wings? She thought they were wings. From what she could see it looked like a kind of large wasp or bee, but it was hard to make out anything definite. "Yeah, I'm doing alright!" She called out, her voice echoing off the walls. "How about you?" The next comment was a trifle bit confusing, and she wasn't sure how to respond to it.

Minnie heard a voice, and so she replied :
"Huh? Who, me? I'm getting 4 rock candies!"
The voice echoed the wall. And she kept mining. But she can't find anything, and she decided to head out from the gym.
"Maybe i'll get some luck tomorrow."

Vero peered a little more at the figure, wishing they had more than lantern light to go by; even with its good eyesight, it had mistaken the ghoul for someone else. "Decently. Forgive us, we thought you were someone else," it replied, even though there really wasn't any similarities to be seen under this light. "But it is always good to know rock slides are not occurring while we toil. Our companion and we would not like to plunge from this cliff preferably."
Well, Vero assumed Ulmuka wouldn't. Unless he was a daredevil sort?
Have you been in here long? We have lost our sense of time within these trashy confines."

"Hey, Don't sweat it, It's pretty hard to see in this place after all" Poke gave them the thumbs up to show she wasn't worried about the mistake in identity. She then frowned at the possibility that there could be a rock slide, and she looked around as if she expected one to happen right then and there.
"Yeah, I don't think anyone would want to fall down a cliff" She replied, looking up again. "Although I think you guys should be pretty safe, you do have wings and all". Not that wings was a guarantee, but they would be a lot safer then her, who could get buried in a rock slide.
Picking up her pickaxe again, she went to smack it into the wall. "Actually, I only just got here," She said before bashing the object with another giant Clang

((YAY HUGS. I blame late time + no food))
"Our wings are not worth the risk," it replied truthfully, the mentioned appendages twitching and producing a soft buzzing sound. "They are not large enough for flight. We also would not like to have Master Ulmuka carry us in such danger or at such height."
Beyond being embarrassing, Vero wasn't sure the strix could carry it. While ghosts usually didn't have weight, it imagined the posture to carry it would still be awkward.
"We have been here for . . ." Blink of an eye, tink of a pickaxe. "In truth we do not know. For quite some time now. It has been dry up here for the most part; perhaps there is a vein somewhere, if we knew what to look for . . ."

Poke appeared a little shocked by this new information. Usually most creatures who had wings could fly quite well, but it couldn't? Perhaps they were still growing?
"E-er, l-I think you'd be pretty safe up there anyway" She laughed nervously, not wanting to say anything that could possible offend the boil...or ghoul..actually, she wasn't quite sure at this point.
Her tail shifted from side to side as Vero mentioned he had been here for a while. She didn't want to spend too long here, as being underground wasn't her kind of thing. But what to look for? She wasn't sure herself. It was hard to tell the distinguish the candy from the other stuff, and she continued to hit at the rock in thought
"Perhaps you should Clang. try changing you position Clang every so often and Clang see what happens?
