Neveralone52 Black Jack Booted Demon Neveralone52 I'm thinking about getting an Ibanez 5-string. Is that a good lasting brand that will last me until the end of the world? I don't ever plan on selling it or anything, and I don't want to have to repair it a lot. Also, I want to know.. Does Ibanez have good sound quality? Ibanez basses range from horribly wrong to well-built. It really depends on the model. The sound quality on the higher-end models isn't bad, especially if you want to play metal. Ouch, you see that's what scares me. I'm so tired of buying cheap instruments and just dealing with their insuffientcies.. stare This is the one I want; It's an Ibanez SR (SR405QMCNB). Basswood body/Quilted maple top. The frets are medium and it's got an Accu-cast B25 bridge. Five strings, for 449.99$.I'm excited, even if I am waaay over cautious. Ever since I first saw this guitar hanging in my local shop, I knew someday it would be mine. Now after all kinds of research, I think this is the bass for me. I like the stain on the wood that's nice, I'm not a fan of Ibaniz, some of them have decent/good sound, I would usually recomend some thing like a P bass because its about the same price and probably sounds better I would recomend asking the person at the shop if you can play it befor you make a buy.

flowergirl01 blackXlinerXrun Erm, my question isn't really about a bass, but a bass amp. Any ideas on what brand is the best for not alot of money? I'm just getting one for practicing at home and with my friends in a garage. And possibly just some school events, so I know it needs to be a bit powerful. I was looking at this one because I've heard some good things but I still need some advice sweatdrop MRAH! go to here for good bass amp and bass guitar and regualer guitar stuff its the best! http://www.musiciansfriend.com/G&K and Berhinger so far are the best I've seen for the price tag, just recearch good, I've had a lemon for Berhinger, and they helped out with it a lot. be ware of single speaker stuff from them though its not very good. Peavy is great and expensive, and ampg is the best but rediculously priced I suggest brousing around a little. DO NOT GET BERHINGER!!!!!!!!!!!!! they start to distort at about half volume, they blow out very easily, and they catch on fire often. the price tag is nice, but the quality sucks. G&K are ok, but they tend to blow out a lot, but not as much as Berhinger...

snceofMM Marxist_Revolution_Now no, not a 6 string. that's a little to much. just go with a 5 string. unless you want a really good bass go for the musicman stringray or sub. If you don't have that kinda money then buy an olp musicman and then buy sub musicman pickups. have them swaped and you have a cheap awsome versitile bass. but it will be 4 string. unless you can find a 5 string olp and 5 string sub pickups. I would do that and it would cost you less than 300. maybe less than 250. but if you don't have the money then i posted a thread about a 5 string for 80 dollar's. it's a store on ebay and they have alot of them. under $300? wow. xp that sounds nice. ^^ thanks for the help. 3nodding OLP IMO is worse than Squier, and Squier is pretty bad... OLP are not worth it, save up for something better (like MusicMan, Traben, or Gibson) also the amount of strings depends on how you like to play. i happen to like a nice 5 string with a wide neck, i started after about 6months of playing a 4 string. it actually helps stretch your fingers, and i feel more comfortable playing a 5 string then a 4 string. now after 2 years of playing, i refuse to play any 4 string, i hate playing them. i suggest just going to the music store, and see witch bass you like playing the best.

Instrumental Sconnavar What type of bass is better for slapping? Four string? Five? Four string see now thats an opinion question... i think a five is better you have to try them both out (some 4 are better than 5, some 5 are better then 4, it all depends on string spacing)

That's a lot of answers without actually explaining why you picked the anwers you picked. Maybe you should try again. People don't know why you picked those answers.
Except for the whole Behringer deal. You're right about that one. They suck. Horrible quality for little $$. If you're going to do it, save up and do it right.
