Why did Junko always get such awful trapping material? This time she had a rock tied on a string to the end of a stick. This would kill any minipet she attempted to catch! Not cool! But she sat in wait anyway, thinking maybe if she was quick enough to react she could keep the rock from smashing the skull of any minipet that wandered by. As of yet she hadn't really seen any, just tracks. She was beginning to believe this was all a lie. But then, suddenly, the grasses moved. Junko perked up, ducking behind some tall grass and peering through. She heard a THUD and a cry, gasping as she darted out from her hiding place to check what had happened. There was just a piece of fluff on the ground. ...Huh. Maybe it would grow into a real fluff. The knock on the noggin must have just knocked it back into a more primitive stage or something. Junko picked up the fluffy and cooed, petting it as she walked off to set up another trap elsewhere. ((Mini account: Eight))

Having decided to try a different area all together for see what he could trap, Adyian had gone to some cliffs to try his luck. Really liking this cliffs since he just love stone as it just made him feel comfortable and it was slightly like home too. Carefully hiding as he waited for something to be caught in his trap. As he had seen different type of tracks around his triggered traps and he wondered to what type of minipet they could belong to. Brought out of his thoughts when he heard the trap being triggered. Walking over to it he didn't see any track around it and was a little confused. But lifting the trap up... He found what looked like fluff, it was cool looking fluff. "Alright that was a strange catch, just as much as the fish egg," he said as he picked up the fluff and put it into his pouch, reset the trap and when back to his hiding spot to see if he could catch anything more.

... How on earth did inanimate objects keep ending up in Malodore's traps? Did they roll there? Float there? Thrown in by some passing devil solely to perplex it? It was all very unscientific.

He had been sitting and resetting his trap for days and days now it seemed. Nothing would go into the trap. Around it. Beneath it. Above it...There was even the apparent instance of something sitting in the trap and then walking right back out uncaught. It was infurating and the feline boil had hissed and stomped his feet, tail lashing in complete annoyance. It was the forest's fault. It had to be. So he'd moved back to the misty fields, reset his trap and waited...and waited. Tyr was about to give up entirely and go find someone to bother when his sharp hearing caught the distinctive thunk of something springing his trap. He gave a very immature squeal of glee and tore off through the grass to see what had finally set it off.....  ...It didn't have any feet. How could something set off the trap if it had no apparent way of motion? Crouching, the feline poked the round sphere with a clawed finger, watching it rock slightly from side to side. Maybe the wind blew it? 'Or something's inside to roll it.' He through gleefully, picking up the sphere carefully and tucking it into his pocket. Setting the trap, he bounded off back through the grass to find the record booth, finally able to write something down, even if he didn't have a clue what it was. Tyr couldn't wait to find out though. {{Sn: Shadowfall}}

Riley's trap had caught.. a button.
Well, it hadn't so much as caught a button, as much as.. a button had set the trap off. And it was just sitting there. In the middle of the trap.
A button.
Riley had little to write about the button, when she returned to declare her find. She simply wrote; I have found a button.
An exciting entry, to say the least.

Pickles had become, in his short period at the Festival, an intrepid Adventurer. After braving bogs, forests, and cliffs, he explored the area of the map marked as a karst.
They did, in fact, howl. Something had also been leaving him scribbled, misspelled vulgarities. He had tried to decipher them using what he knew about runes, to little success. His traps, however, were starting to fill up. It was difficult to tell the animate from the inanimate, but being fond of fire, he was very appreciative at the appearance of a matchstick with two glowing eyes. The downside was that he was running out of pockets to keep his finds in.

Frankly, Junko wasn't sure why she kept using this trap. The rock with the stick. It was going to kill something. She just knew it! Luckily her last ball of fluff had grown into a pretty little foxfire kit that was now prancing around her feet as she hid behind a tree, yipping and yapping and bouncing like it was made of rubber. It was adorable but it was also scaring off her potential catches! "Shh!" She hissed down at the happy little foxfire. Be quiet! Stooooop! She could almost hear the spring! sproing! sprung! sproing! spring! sproing! of the happy little foxfire bouncing all around her. Uuuuuuugh! Suddenly the foxfire ran off, darting through the bushes toward the trap. Oh no. Oh NO! Junko gasped and quickly took off after the foxfire. "Wait! Come back! You'll get hur--AHH!" She tripped over her own trap. Her sandal caught on the trip wire, she stumbled to catch her balanced and stepped on the stick and then the attached rock and slammed to the ground. But her landing wasn't completely hard...it had been cushioned by a ball of brown fluff. The little foxfire she had been chasing resumed its happy prancing, feeling it had just completely a job well done. ((Eight))

Having decide to try a new area in trapping, Adyian has chosen the bog area as it was a strange place, but neat and got him wondering to what type of minipets were in this area. Setting up his trap he waited to see what would come by his trap since some of the tracks that he has seen were strange ones that he had to wonder to what it could have been. Patiently waiting for something to wander into his trap. Not hearing his trap being triggered he wandered over to it to see if it had or not. Coming up to it he found that it had been triggered and thought that nothing was in side as it wasn't making any sound from the inside the box. But lifting it up... How in Jack did a cage get inside of his trap. That was one that he couldn't figure out at all. He still took the cage of a minipet with him since it was intersting and he did want to find out what would come out of the cage. So he reset his trap and went back to his hiding spot and had to think on how he did catch that caged minipet.

An egg, she'd somehow caught an egg, how did she keep managing to snare objects that seemed as if they should be incapable of meandering into her traps? She shook her head and picked up the trapped egg puzzled but never one to look a gift minipet in the mouth she took it.
How some traps function I might never understand, but learning to identify curious tracks is an important trapping skill.[Mini SN: roxyroxanna]

Hasuko was never very good at hunting or trapping or any sort of thing like that. So it was with some surprise when she actually found something in the small box trap she had set up -- and it wasn't her pet ulppa, Pochi, for the umpteenth time. Pochi just wouldn't leave the trap bait well enough alone and kept inadvertently trapping himself. Not that he cared; he'd just curl up and go to sleep until Hasuko came and let him out. No, this time it was a... thing. A plant thing? But it had wiggly vine tentacles or something and a stem with leaves that looked kind of like a wing? Whatever it was, it was neat looking and Hasuko puffed up with pride at having actually caught something.

... Cotton fluff? Malodore supposed it could have blown into the pit by mistake. Or perhaps rolled, soft and gentle like a tumbleweed. Still, it was a bit odd how it kept catching inanimate objects. Unless this was a species whose natural reproduction involved giving birth inside traps... hm.

Oppa was tired of mucking around in the bog, he was much more at home in the misty fields. He thought that having access to the more experienced areas would yield more pets, but it was really just yielding more laundry. He frowned as his shoe got sucked into the bog. That was the third time it had happened. As he made his way back to his traps he saw something gleaming from up ahead, it was his trap! And there was something inside. A horn? I guess whatever it had caught had gotten away, but it left behind a golden horn. Oppas face stretched from side to side. GOLD! He grabbed up the horn and shoved it into his pocket. Hrm? Somehow the horn seemed alive. Oppa ignored this feeling and strolled on home.

Muka was getting a little more confident in his trapping abilities. He moved on from the forest to instead see what he could get from the bog. The tracks left by his trap were intriguing. He tried time and time again. Thinking his trap to be empty on last time, he noticed a shell stuck under the box. How odd. A shell?

Caethes had been setting out his traps all day. With disdain he had come back to each trap to find it empty or worse, broken. On the last twinkle of daylight he had put a trap out and left to console himself with treats while allowing time to work it's magic. Dreading what he might find he had come back and found the box down, rattling slightly.
With excitement he picked it up and cast his eyes down underneath to the hidden creature. Carefully he snatched it to find something he'd never laid eyes on before.

Setting the trap out again he walked warily back towards the entrance, satisfied with the day's catch.

To find a rock wedged in her trap was certainly not the oddest of catches, though it was clear the rock was simply another vessel waiting to hatch into another minipet. Riley set the crystalline shaped item down and scribbled quickly about her find, before tucking it away safely. She had a certain fondness for crystals. Whatever hatched from the rock was sure to be an appealing pet. Profile: Alania
