Either Mitsu was feeling a little better or she was doing an exceptional job of hiding how she was feeling at the moment. With a nod she turned to the first aid kit once again and withdrew some fresh gauze and bandage tape.

"I-It's the least I can do." She said in reply. He had really bailed her out of a bad situation. If Shun hadn't been there, there was no telling what would have happened.

Pre-tearing some piece of tape Mitsu set them aside while she took up the fresh gauze and gently placed it over the wound. While she held it in place with one hand she used her other hand to grab for the tape and secure the bandage in place. That done she took a step back her eyes shortly trailing over the other scars Shun had. It twisted her insides to know he had been hurt fairly badly and often to accumulate so many scars.

Having been forgotten by her roleplayer, Ziggy was now on a path of proverbial destruction to get some attention. As soon as Shun's jacket had been cast aside the little acrobat cat had crawled underneath it lying in wait. Oh what a surprise the reaper would have. Oh yes.

"I guess I should make sure my keyboard is okay..." Mitsu finally said looking over to where she had placed her new instrument. Walking over toward it she grabbed it up and took it back over to the bed setting it down as lightly as possible. Unzipping the case Mitsu looked the instrument over carefully. It seemed to be unharmed.

After a few more seconds of set up Mitsu had the keyboard on and pressed her fingers to a couple of keys to try them out. They sounded okay at least. Now to hear a tune. The lupine hesitated with her fingers over the clavier before she finally pressed down on the notes, a soft sad tune starting to play. She was indeed good, there was no doubt about it watching her fingers dance about from one key to the next, perfectly timed in their execution of the melody. There didn't even seem to be an ounce of concentration on her features, this was as natural to her as breathing.

Shaking his head slowly, Shun sat by patiently as she wrapped up the cuts. Once she was done, he went and put his shirt back on for now. He was going to either have to trash the thing or try to see if it could be mended, seeing how it was ripped up now. But that was something he'd figure out later.

While Mitsu went on over to check on her keyboard, he remained at the bed, watching her curiously. As the music started to play, he paused and listened carefully. She wasn't just good... she was actually pretty amazing with the thing. His eyes shifted over towards the keys her fingers danced upon and there was definitely a sort of precision in her movements.

The Reaper listened quietly, not wanting to interrupt her music. The song was a sad and soft one, as far as he could tell. The things those guys had said no doubt were still affecting her. If he were to see those werewolves again, he might have to give them a good punch as a sort of way to get back for everything they might have done to her.

There was no way this girl was worthless by any means. This, he had decided for sure.

Mitsu continued to play for a time getting lost in the melody that her fingers were creating. It wasn't until she finally looked up again that she snapped out of her little trance, her cheeks darkening a bit as she set the keyboard aside. "I..it seems to be okay." She said sheepishly.

Her hands now lacking something to do started to fidget with the sheets on the bed, she still seemed a little dazed and out of it. The days events were still replaying in her mind like a bad movie. The words she knew she shouldn't listen to rang out the loudest though Shun's words were still there lingering, giving her hope that she wasn't just a hopeless case.

"Can I get you anything?" Mitsu asked her red eyes finally drifting up to look the reaper in the face. "Something to drink?"

"You're very good at that," he said quietly once she had finished. It was rather nice to hear her play, but the melody she had done bothered him. There was something about it that just didn't sit right with him. He was having a hard time pinpointing out what it was, however.

".. Some water would be good," Shun requested as he continued to watch her.

The Reaper had a feeling that she was still bothered and hurt, but he really didn't know what to do about that. This wasn't a situation he was in all that often and because of it, he was a bit of a lost.

"T-thank you," Mitsu said in almost a whisper nodding to Shun when he mentioned water. Leaving his side for a moment she went to fetch a glass and retreated to the bathroom to fill it with water from the sink. Turning on the water Mitsu hesitated there for a moment trying to make the thoughts stop. It was so hard though...so hard to ignore the humming of voices in her head, the doubt that swarmed her mind.

Finally she filled the glass after a moment and headed back out of the bathroom holding the glass out to Shun. "Here you are.." Her eyes avoided his face for now, thought whether it was from being upset or embarrassed was hard to say.

Nodding to her, Shun took the glass and drank from it, taking a long swig from it. Letting out a breath, he lowered the glass while looking at Mitsu somewhat critically as she stood there, avoiding his gaze.

"Thanks.." he said quietly while watching her some more, "I don't suppose there's anything I could do for you right now?"

It was starting to drive him a little crazy actually. He didn't generally feel bothered when others were down or whatnot but here he felt the desire to try and fix this. It must have been another side effect of having a friend he supposed.

Mitsu looked like she was trying to think at Shun's offer though nothing was really coming to mind. She was pretty used to dealing with this on her own for the most part, even when her brother was around.

"H...have you...ever dealt with anything like this?" She asked taking a seat beside the reaper again. "Being picked on?" She clarified. It was hard to imagine Shun being picked on, he seemed like he could hold his own, but it could have just as easily be a burden he dealt with as well. How did he deal with it? Maybe there was a trick to feeling better.

"Depends on how you look at it I guess," Shun started while thinking over her question.

"Most people leave me alone. Either they're intimated or don't care. Those who do try to start something end up in a fight," he shrugged, "Unless you count what my father says and does."

There was a sort of sneer as usual when he brought up the old man. He didn't elaborate more on it, but if Mitsu went off of what he had told her before she could probably piece a few things together.

"I dislike most people so it's never really bothered me a whole lot to be left alone I guess."

Mitsu couldn't imagine getting in a fight though she had been beaten up a couple of times. Bigger kids always seemed to have it out for those much smaller than they were, especially the runts. But the following thing Shun said bothered Mitsu a bit. She had gathered that the relationship Shun had with his father wasn't the greatest and that it was possibly because of him that Shun had so many scars....but to have a parent be compared to bullying. Mitsu really couldn't imagine. Mr. Adolphus wasn't always the nicest but he also wasn't her parent.

Listening to the last thing Shun said Mitsu wasn't entirely sure how to take it. "Y..you don't mind me being around.....do you?" She liked spending time with the reaper so she hoped she wasn't alone in her enjoyment of the company.

The dark expression Shun had taken on went away with Mitsu's question. He gave her a sort of puzzled look, thinking on that for a moment. After the pause, he shook his head to the girl.

"Not at all," he said in a softer tone, "You're one of the few I actually enjoy being around."

It was a little strange to admit, but there was no reason to lie over something like that.

Mitsu smiled softly at the reaper hearing his reply. That warm feeling of comfort that she often got around Shun seemed to ease her a little. Reaching out a hand she gently took hold of his arm giving it a hug. He seemed rather awkward with the hug the last time so maybe this wouldn't be so bad?

"I enjoy spending time with you too," She confirmed with a warmer smile.

It seemed that he had said something right as he saw the girl smile as a result of his words. Shun's eyes widened slightly as she went and gave him a hug. He didn't really see that coming and he ended up tensing slightly. However, he remained still and didn't try to push her off or anything like that.

The words she added to the hug also had him pausing. He had a feeling he was going to need to get used to these sorts of things but that didn't stop him from feeling weird about it. A part of him didn't quite believe it fully either, just due to what he was used to on a normal basis.

"You sure about that? Not exactly the nicest guy around," he said quietly.

This time it was Mitsu's turn to look puzzled as she drew back a little to look up at Shun. "Of course I'm sure." She said without hesitation. "And you are nice," her ears flattened back a little wondering why he would say that and now of all things. Her eyes were searching for the answer in his features.

"If you weren't nice you wouldn't have stood up for me today. Even people who seem like they care....have just stood by and watched when something like that happened. Even when we first met....You could have always left me in the tree and never helped." Mitsu didn't know that Shun had passed her by the first time but even if she did that doubtfully would change her opinion. He had still helped in the end and he had gone out of his way to help her on multiple occasions.

There was a sort of stern look on Shun's face as he took in what she said. When she brought up the deal with the tree on the day they had met, he let out a sigh and shook his head to himself.

"To be honest... I walked past the first time I saw you there. Bent-Tail wouldn't stop chattering in my ear so that was my original reason to help you," he said.

"My reasoning is different for what I did today but it doesn't really change the fact that I probably would have left you if it weren't for Bent when I first saw you."

"....you could have still ignored him." Mitsu said softly. Did she look a little deflated now? Quite possibly. What would it have been like if Shun hadn't helped her out that day? Well, she probably would have been stuck until a teacher walked by and took pity on her....but then she never would have gotten to know him. She thought of him as a really good friend and the thought that they might not have met really saddened her. She would definitely have been too nervous to ever approach him and say hello otherwise.

"I'm...glad you listened to Bent." The wolf girl finally said. "Because you did I was able to meet my first real friend." As sad and pitiful as that sounded. She was trying not to focus on the fact that Shun really hadn't cared in the beginning but then again he hadn't known her. But there had to be some good in there...or he would have just ignored Bent and kept going.
