God created evil..
  Yes He did.
Not evil, but he did create the capacity for it.
  Not even!
  I don't know.

I think it's high time that we as Christians start asking the questions that haven't been readily asked. I think it's time we rethink our ideas about "Satan"/"Lucifer"/ "The Devil" and find out what we are really up against... It won't be pretty , but it's easier to stand against an enemy when you know what you are going to have to face...

But for those who are up to the challenge of re-evaluating our knowledge of "The Devil" , a willingness to re-evaluate evil and how it fits into God's plan is necessary.
Yes Yes a million times yes. Just out of curiousity what sort of strategy did you have in mind for re-evaluating this character? I personally would start with evaluating mythos actually about this character and then start examining how this character relates to yourself in your life. Compare notes with others doing the same thing and then weed out things that don't add up or don't make sense. If you had an alternate idea then I'm all ears.

This might be of interest to you:

Who is Satan, and are he and Lucifer the same?

Hm, I wonder if it's Martin Luther's fault that Lucifer got mixed up into Bibles. He was the one who started to copy the bible and give it to the people. He translated it from Latin, which would explain the major use of Lucifer.

I don't know to be honest. With how undereducated preists were after the fall of Rome, it could have been a priest misreading/mistranslating the Latin one day. I think the connection of Lucifer being Satan existed well before Luther but that might be something that the OP of the article I linked you could answer.

Well, he had some quoted Latin, with Lucifer in it, from 3rd century. So I was just going by Roman Catholic Priests used Bibles with Latin, and so Luther must have translated the bible first from Latin. So that would mean Lucifer must have been commonly used when he spread the use of the bible in Germany. And because English has a lot of Latin influence and words in it already, it would not have surprise me it spread around Britain very quickly.

Starting with the mythos was my intention, and proceeding just as you suggest 3nodding .

I think allot of our (as Christians in general) issues stem from taking misinterpreted stories of the satan from the Bible and believing them as literal. I feel it causes fear and confusion, two mind-states that we are told God doesn't bring us in regards to His Word...

If God didn't inspire fear and confusion, just where does it come from? LOL The Debil? Or can we start owning up to what we have done so we can fix it? Sometimes humanity is prideful enough not to need an adversary to derail them.

Yet again, we need to be aware that there are spiritual adversaries who come against us, and we need to be prepared for it.

I believe God did not create evil. I support the belief that God created Lucifer, and Lucifer got jealous of the attention God gave to Jesus. He wanted to be as powerful and divine as God. This turned him corrupted, and the start of a war between good and evil.

I concur. (big word xp ) Many times the Bible and Christ says only God is good. If that is true, how can evil come from good. Yes, in Genesis it says God knew what good and evil was, but to me that's no different than my knowing what I am and what I'm not, what is of my doing and what isn't of my doing. God, knowing that he is good, knows all that He can and does do, so when he sees anything other he knows it is not of his doing and thus not good.

However the devil came to be, the only things that we can be sure of is 1) God created him because nothing that exists wasn't made by him 2) he/she/it became corrupt because everything God makes is initially good 3) the devil's ways should be avoided and 4) the devil and sin will not last forever.
