Israfel had been looking at the air course intensely. Long enough for Castor the scareon to wiggle under him and and rollflop onto his feet. Could he do it? Dare he try. Blue feathers puffed out experimentally. No big gusts of air, no loose or damaged feathers prone to falling out. He was better but..it was awfully long...and that looked really deep. His student form wings were just enough to get him to stay off the ground but staying in free flight? He was completly unsure. Decision, deci-

"Oh!" Looking up, Israfel smiled. It was the boil from the boat! Squids, good times those. "Askaja yes? Um, I'm sorry, am I in your way?" He shuffled to the side, the scareon at his feat flopping over upside down as a result. "I was just thinking about it but...not sure you know. Uh..." He rubbed the back of his head, earwings flat as he blushed in mild embarrassment. "Not the best flier you know."

He was unaware of Jericho's eyes on him, or the other dragon's concern. If he'd known he would have been showing off what he could do.

Which wasn't a whole lot.

"Yeah, I think so," West replied. He certainly didn't coddle the scareon and she had lived this long wandering around campus on her own most of the time, so she must have been doing something right. "She comes t'my room sometimes wit'some nasty cuts, but every so often she..." He brought his hands together in a ball, then extended his fingers while making a poofing sound, perhaps indicating some sort of explosion. "Burns, y'know. Th'scars don't stick."

Master looked up at West and butted her head against his shin. He responded by gently sliding her several inches away from him with his foot. Jack only knew why she stuck around, but she appeared to genuinely like the demon even if the feeling didn't appear to be mutual.

Malcolm watched with a small approving smile as the students started to pair themselves off; it seemed like most of them already had a potential partner in mind... That's good. Allowing them to pick their own partner might not be the most accurate way to start such a "simulation", but it's a good start at least! He started to write down the different pairings on a piece of paper secured on a clipboard according to his own observations, frowning when she realized that not everyone... Well, had a partner.

Time to call on the Gnomes- Oh wait. Should he really be relying on gnomes...?

"Astra, Colette and Whisper," He was frowning, but he didn't look angry, just a tad frustrated, "Hm... You know what? Take these..." He patted the tentacle he was sitting on, and a moment later, three smaller tentacles lifted three... Collars? No, invisible dogs puppies from within the pit, putting them down gently on the ground in front of the three students.

"Small, but more more reliable than the gnomes I was going to assign as partners for you," He nodded, tapping his pen against the clipboard, "Check their collar for their name; please hold onto their leash; they're trained not to run off but who knows...? They might pull you along to make things faster! They can listen to simple commands, like... Attack, stop, wait. Oh, be sure to praise them when they do good! They're all boys - triplets, in fact." Not that anyone can see them.

"Alright, I'll be waiting for you on the other side! Have fun and protect your partner and minipet!"



The OOC:
- The whole course = Roll a total of 150 to reach the end. However, its not a race; finishing faster will be less fun since less events will happen to you!
- Roll 1 100-sided dice every round where you are not being attacked (I will prompt everyone once every 24 hours!); the number is distance traveled; both members are required to roll and the lower of the 2 numbers will be taken since a team is only as fast as its slowest member. In the case where one person is unable to post, the only number rolled will be taken as the distance traveled.
- For other dice rolls, please refer to the individual prompts I will be giving; please have quote notifications on unless you're really alert! I'll be quoting both members with a prompt; the faster you reply, the faster you can move on! I will wait 24 hours unless both members reply before 24 hours is up!

Stats:
NPC invisible dogs puppies: 30 HP
All other minipets: 20 HP

FEAR Candy (One time use): Restores amount of HP equal to FEAR Candy score; please link to the post with your FEAR candy assignment from the previous class when using it!

NPCs do not come with FEAR Candy, thus the higher HP; I will be rolling for the NPCs' attack and distance.

((Siddie & Junko))

Siddie's expression had started to get a little panicky as other students paired off around her; she still didn't know who to ask. But before she had to decide to take the initiative, Professor Malcolm solved the problem for her. She was assigned to pair up with Junko, whose name she vaguely recalled. She looked around for the other ghoul and edged over to join her. "Um," she said. "Hi. ... Should I go first, or do you want to?"

Tox growled softly. He nipped Siddie, kicked his way free of her grasp, and headed for the land path.

"Oh no - Tox!" Siddie cast an apologetic look at Junko, then followed Tox into the course.

They had only managed to take a few steps before something shot out at them from the water. Ren gave a shout of surprise as an enormous purple tentacle came shooting from the water, slick and squeaky as it wrapped in a wide arc around him and Jove. He could feel drops spattering against his cheek, which made him shiver, both from the cold and from the remembrance of what exactly the creature had been in - water.

Ren did not like water. Nor did he particularly like the fact that something else fell and whacked poor Fruitloup across the head. Jove, looking both petrified and angry, chomped down on the tentacle; it was probably more of a reflex than an attack, by the look of things, so it did not do much damage and Jove looked rather sickened by the taste of it.

"Jove!" Ren shouted, irritation flashing across his face. He lashed out at the beast, kicking hard, but the floor was slippery, throwing him off balance, and he only managed to graze its side. Rhys' attempt to snap at the beast went much better (though the lepus managed to get a mouthful of rubber and water in the process), but Ren had to yank him away before the thing fell on top of him.

Before she knew it her friends were partnering off one by one. There were some she had no way of even considering separating considering they were...well...pairs already even outside of class, but that didn't mean she wasn't still worried. Aoi was being grumpy as well, adding onto her displeasure. Land, water or air? She'd definitely be going with land.

Junko couldn't quite figure out why the sight of tentacles made a shiver of terror run up her spine. Odd! Oh well.

Luckily Malcolm paired her up without her needing to dig for some kind of courage to approach someone she didn't actually know too well and just paired her up with them herself. She wandered over to Siddie with a little more confidence than she would have if not for the predetermined partnership, sighing with relief as she did. "Why don't we g--gah!" Aoi had seen the other minipet, a strange looking schink that was now close enough for him to get! But hey! Why were they running away?! He managed to finally wriggle free from his distracted owner's hold on him, chasing after the other minipet as it ran down the land path.

"I'm sorry! He's..like this a lot..!" Junko apologized to Siddie before running after her and Aoi and Tox. If you've never seen Junko run, this is going to be a hilarious first experience let me tell you.
