The island was moving. The island was moving. Beta Five felt himself staggering, his feet sliding desperately to keep his balance.

Oh hell -

It tilted left. Then right. Forward, back, left, right, and Beta Five was ready to throw himself off onto the next island. Most unfortunately for him, he lost his footing, stumbling back and then -

Falling, falling, falling.

Ahhh, man...I really shouldn't have played this game.

He stood calmly as one could in such a situation watching as the others leapt from island to island, when he was just about to try and take the short cut ever closer to the reaper and the pendant the island he occupied shifted. He increased his stance and lowered himself closer to the ground and spread his arms to keep his balance however he also shared the island with another. He stared at the side of the mask the other person wore, Zeta 12, they themselves were trying to keep their balance but in the panic they made a mad panic and scrabbled to the centre of the island, stupid mistake.

The island shifted, not only in the direction it was travelling but now also with the uneven weight of the two of them upon it. He stared wildly at Zeta 12 beckoning for him to move more towards the edge to balance the weight again but it was too late, he could feel the island tilting. Gravity pulled at him and soon he felt his footing losing it's sureness, finally he slipped upon his side and slid to the edge, he twisted and tried to grasp the edge of the island but the angle didn't allow for it and he dropped from the island and plummeted towards the foreboding dark below.

(( People on the islands next to E3 who were not affected by the shaking, I now need a post from you as to if you wish to try and save E3. Only one attempt can be made, whether it succeeds or fails. Your character can also choose not risk it.

Rolls for saving are on the previous page.

After one save attempt or three denials or 12 hours - whichever comes first - round three will begin. ))

As Eta II landed on the final island of his turn, he spotted a familiar figure on the island in front of his. Ah good! At least Eta III was still around. He probably thought that too fast because before he could cry out to Eta III, the island started to wobble, and Eta III with it.

"Watch ou-"

Eta III had slipped off the island, about to plummet tens of hundreds of meters into the black abyss below.

"GRAB ON!" Eta II yelled, lunging forward and grabbing at his comrade. He made it just in time, his hand grasping Eta III's wrist firmly. Phew. That was a close call.

(( OOC: okay do I pull him up? or just leave it as it is lD ))

In the midst of the shaking, two of the players fell. The figure was too far away to do anything other than watch. One of them was grabbed by a quick person on a neighbouring island... the other, too far from the others to receive help.

There was just one problem.

The figure tsked. E2 had been pulled up onto an island that already had two people. Under the weight of three, the island became unsteady. Staring hard, the figure waited for the shaking that signalled the island was about to fall... but it never came.

The humans would begin to relax at this point, if they'd even noticed or worried about having three on an isle to begin with. It was a cramped fit, but they were fine. Or so it seemed. A foot close to the edge of the island suddenly gave way. The three could press closer in together, but the edge of the island kept giving way, crumbling every so slowly.

There was no advice the figure could give. He simply waited to see what they would do.

(( Alright, this island-of-three is going a little differently, since if people jumped to the next island, it would be an island-of-three all over again.

D12, E2 and E3, please roll one ten-sided dice. You must choose one of the three following options:
1. Push someone (specify who)
2. Protect someone (specify who - they do not have to have been pushed for you to select this option)
3. Save only yourself.

Please bold your choice in brackets at the top, and RP out a post as usual. ))

(( OOC: OTL whoops ))
(( Eta II is crashing into Delta 12....pushing him off orz. Sorry! D: ))

Eta II heaved, helping Eta III get up on the island he stood on. He felt very ~heroic~. His hand was still grasped firmly around Eta III's wrist, it hadn't occurred to him that he could let go already. Or maybe he didn't really want to let go, at least for now - he felt better with the assurance that Eta III was still with him instead of at the bottom of the chasm. Eta II broke into laughter from the relief. Boy was he so glad he caught III.

That bout of relief was short-lived. The island that HE and the two others stood on began to crumble away under the weight of three. My bad, Eta II confessed, oh my god I'm an idiot..... The island grew smaller and smaller, and soon all three were edged inwards, hoping it would stop. The land beneath Eta II slipped suddenly, sending Eta II jumping backwards in response. The island was so cramped however, that his leap backwards had sent him crashing into Delta 12.

{{Permission from Kali to attempt to save Theta 6}}

Theta 6 felt her island go shaky and frown as the thing seemed to be unable to sustain her weight. She frowned as she felt shaky and was literally very close to the edge of the island. Why was she playing this again? ... Right the pendant.

Looked like it was jump or fall, so right as she was about to loose her footing she jumped.

Theta 6 smiled as she landed on the next island and looked around. She had just barely made it onto the island, but she made it. And thats what mattered.

((Eta Three is protecting Eta Two))

He was resigned to the fact he'd not get the answers he wanted after all, that this was it and he'd deal with whatever came next, if at all anything. However it wasn't the end, he was amazed to hear Eta Two shout out to him, 'Grab on!' He twisted in the air towards the sound of the familiar voice and reached out with both hands attempting to catch Two's outstretched hand as he fell by. Success, He grasped Two's hand and was stopped in his fall, the momentum however caused him to swing in towards the island, battering his rubs, he felt the air leave his lungs. He gasped desperately to fill them with air and then with a great effort he swung his elbow onto of the island Two occupied and heaved himself up with a great deal of help him Two. He rose to a kneel caught his breath and then stood.

He stared Two straight in the eye and with the arm Two wasn't grasping he threw it around his comrade. He nodded in confirmation as a laughter of what could of only been relief broke from both of them. He held him in close with the one arm, standing shoulder to shoulder and then he calmed down and truly thanked Eta Two, 'I owe you my life and I'll do everything in my power to see us both through this.' He was truly grateful to this person he'd only know for the last few days, to his recollection anyway, and warmed to his level of compassion, first helping Eta Eight and now himself.

Relief was short lived though as with the weight of the three of them upon the island it began to crumble away, rather than plummet like those previously. He crept back away from the edge and the three of them were slowly brought together. To his side Two jumped back fiercely as the island crumbled away from behind his feet, bumping into Delta Twelve who was behind them. He didn't care about Delta Twelve, this was a survival game now and as much as Three believed in comradeship he didn't know Delta Twelve, so if the shock of having Two jump into him sent him flying then que sera sera. Two however was his concern, his own footing and the island below it seemed stable enough for now that he didn't worry immediately so he bent his knees slightly to lower himself in case Two was to slip from the island and he also stretched his arm out baring the path should Two fall forwards.

[[ Delta 12's gonna try to save himself. Gotta live for Delta Six's sake, after all. :C <3 ]]

As people began to jump from island to island, another person joined Twelve on his hunk of rock. He half nodded to Eta Two in a silent greeting. In normal circumstances he would have struck up idle conversation, but this was far from regular. Another nervous glance into the chasm. The island gently rocked as Eta Two reached over to snatch Eta Three’s arm to save him from a deep fall. Delta Twelve was glad to see that players were still capable of saving fellow players—this was a Battle Royale, right?—but he still frowned. This was not good.

The island shook, but the movement quickly dissipated. Just as Twelve began to relax, a chunk of the island crumbled and tumbled into the darkness. Instinctively, he stepped closer to the middle of the rock. More pieces began to fall and he cursed.

He looked behind at the other two and watched as Eta Three protectively held onto Eta Two. Dazed, Twelve laughed. It's just me, myself, and I, now, and it's incredibly lonely.

Delta Six, why did you have to fall?

What an unlucky island, the figure thought to himself. Someone just saved from falling, now at risk of doing so again. As was his rescuer, and an innocent bystander on the same island. He watched as human drama played out - a push, the pushee trying to save themselves, and the recently rescued trying to return the favour.

The two actually involved in the 'fight' were both strong. A big push, a desperate attempt to hold on... It was such a shame that no one was keeping an eye on the recently rescued one. The rock under Eta Three's feet gave way while his attention was on Eta Two, and Eta Three fell into the chasm. The island stopped crumbling, but seemed far less stable than before. The humans would want to move on quickly, and others avoid it if they could.

It was very interesting, the figure thought, to watch things play out from this side. To see what humans did under pressure, who they really were. Unfortunately what several of them were turned out to be was 'falling'. Ah well. Casualities and all that.

The game continued.

(( Long shortcuts are now in play. These are ICly leaping down a metre or two to an island below and slightly to one side. To use these, roll a ten-sided dice - 6 or above makes it, 1 - 5 means you fall.

A reminder: you can only use one shortcut per turn. For the long shortcut, this means when you hit the blue island, you can either move back onto the normal path, or you can pause on the blue island. Pausing is only available on this island, nowhere else.

For those confused over how the results for who is safe/pushed/etc. are worked out, I'll explain at the end of the game. Can't clue the rest of you in early, after all ;P

Round Three begins! Please roll as usual, in any order. ))

Z12 stared in horror as someone who had shared his almost fell to his death, only to be saved by his comrade. It was almost heartwarming. Almost. The unlucky soul, who had just been saved, was felled by the unforgiving island.
It was all so easy, all so quick, how suddenly one could lose their life.

Would he make it out of this game alive?

It was now the fourth day, and here he stood in the middle of a chasm. There was a shortcut ahead. He had to get out of here. Needlessly jumping it aside, the quicker he was at the end, the quicker he could go back to his partner, who he had left alone by the lighthouse the other day. He was worried. Z2 was just so helpless...

He took a breath in deeply, staring down the island. He had to try. It wasn't as far a leap as some other ones...

For a moment, Delta Twelve was convinced that he would fall, but he managed to regain his footing—at the cost of Eta Three, it seemed. Surprised at the sudden twist and attempting to organize his thoughts again, he instinctively reached out for Three’s hand. He was too slow and too far to be of any use. Another player plunged over. Twelve looked away and jumped to the next island. He didn’t want to spend time mulling over the game and everyone else. Things wouldn’t turn out well for him if he did. Briefly, he glanced at Eta Two and whispered, “Sorry.” What was he apologizing for? He didn’t know, but he hoped it would make the other guy feel better.

He landed onto the next island with a solid thump and used the remaining energy to add to the momentum of his next jump. Step. Step. Someone just before him leapt and cried out as they missed the island, innocently floating a ways away. Twelve felt panic rising in his throat. Would he be like that, too? Almost, but not quite making the landing? He forced himself to keep his body stable as he jumped again.

Delta Twelve had never been so glad to be on solid ground again, excluding the fact that the island could also collapse at any moment. He began to panic and fear again. What if others joined his island? Hurriedly, he moved on.
