Letting out a breath, Jericho looked around to try and see where the cloaked one had gone. There was no trace of him anywhere around. Though, there was something shiny on the ground. Picking that up to see what it was, he furrowed his brow at the pendant now in his hands. It looked very much like the one that had transported them to the human world that day..

He took a moment to try and recover, though that fight took out more of him than he would have liked. Quickly, he made his way back to the others to show them his new trinket.

"Why do I get the feeling this is all a trap?"

Malodore straightened a little once one of the immediate threats was gone, though it kept casting worried looks at the cloaked figure harassing Christof in the distance. "It's a school field trip. Some trepidation is entirely normal and healthy, in my opinion. Though..." It frowned at Christof's opponent once more. "Those look like Reapers. Why are they after us? Aren't we all Halloweenkind?"

"I think they want our FEAR, just like that one guy from before," Jericho growled. He looked over towards Christof, who still seemed to be in battle, but he was worn out enough just from the fight he had just gotten out of.

"That cloaked guy that fought me... his attacks drained me more than they hurt. I don't even think I'm bleeding anywhere from those Jack damned daggers," he added as he started to check himself for any cuts and the like.

"And the fact that the guy just ran off like that. It's like my attacks really didn't do anything to him," he huffed. Throughout that fight, he felt as if he was being toyed with.

There was something oddly intense about the way she was devouring those brains. She actually responded to Jericho's question about her ship, stating that they had in fact run out of food For several days, actually. He was not there to receive her message, however - or he was, but she couldn't realize he was too busy being attacked. No, she was caught up in a whirlwind of pleasure. There were multiple layers to this pleasure, one of which being the all-consuming happiness of eating what, in her opinion, was the best thing she'd ever had (CANDIED BRAINS ISRAFEL I LOVE YOU <3). The other layer being that Malodore had hunched down and hugged her. She was barely able to register this fact, but she did notice it - and leaned back into it's crouch contentedly. Sugar and Malodore. Effortlessly the rest of the world was non-existent.

When at last her lovely snack had been entirely consumed, she swayed slightly from the feeling of being fed - and filled with sugar. She hadn't eaten a drop of sugar since the Icky Stix incident.. this was a shock to her system. But a happy shock! She put the tin back at Israfel's feet and turned around, just as Jericho had finished fighting. Her head rested against Malodore's leg, and she looked up at the two.

What are you guys talking about?

Clueless.

Looking towards Riley, Jericho tilted his head, wondering how she missed what they had just said. While he was fighting, he missed her little feast on candied brains so he was clueless on what she was clueless.

"Christof and I were attacked by people that seem like Reapers. Christof is still fighting his, and mine had a pair of daggers. When he hit me, I felt like I was being sapped of my energy. He eventually fled and dropped this," he explained while holding up his pendant, "While I'm happy about getting some real loot from a fight for once, I can't help but feel like we've been lured to this island."

Putting the pendant away, he looked back towards Christof and took a few steps in his direction... which was when the fog rolled in. When he turned around again, he only saw the thick white sheet of fog that now surrounded him.

Riley's eyes widened significantly. Attacked?! She barked out, pushing herself to her feet. How had she missed that? That was .. impossible. She looked for Christof just as Jericho began walking in his direction, but her eyes narrowed when things started to blur. She eyed Jericho - or rather, the spot where she was sure Jericho just was, and headed in that direction.

He was absolutely not there any longer.

Jericho? She murmured hesitantly, but she received only the muted feeling that no one could hear her anymore. It was highly disconcerting. The fog had enveloped her as well. Leaving her quite alone despite her feeling assured she hadn't really gone anywhere.

Her shoulders sagged slightly. She had just gotten Malodore back, and now this..

Calder was worried. He hadn't noticed that Christof had left, thinking he was with Riley, but when they met up together, letting Barth slip off a moment to give his arms and back a rest, he noticed that a few members were missing. Ears up, he looked about, but the fog was thick to the point that it made hearing, even smelling, hard. Worried and starting to panic, he looked around and noticed a figure in the distance, but he didn't know WHAT was going on.

It wasn't until Jericho came back later to tell him them all that he had been attacked and that Christof was still out there facing his own mysterious stranger that the kelpie's ears dropped. Sure, the Igor was the dumb, heartless moron who didn't know a lick about being a good friend, but he didn't want him dead or missing!

Grabbing his pack, he gestured to Barth to say he'd be back only to see that he was gone. In fact, almost everyone was heading out to find Christof. NO! He didn't want to be aloooonnneee! It was creepy and scary and where was CHRSITOF?!

Tapping his hoof in place, he finally moved into the fog to see if he could find and possibly help out his friend.

"You mean you didn't..."

"... see?"

Malodore blinked. Somewhere in the middle of that sentence, things had gotten... muddled. Fogged, in the most literal sense possible. It could no longer see Jericho, and even though Riley had taken only a few steps away, she might as well have been back in Amityville entirely. The fog was wretched. Hideous. Almost admirable, if it hadn't been so annoying.

"Riley? Jericho? Christof!" Malodore took a few steps in one direction, its arms out in front of it. "Calder? Uh... other girl...?"

Christof could dimly hear someone calling his name, but the fog was too thick. Trembling with rage, his stitches screaming at the seams, just barely holding together in the Fear Powered Lockdown, the opponent's green firey whip snapping across his bear chest leaving a good red welt across the red design of Riley's mark and.... was... was that a SKELLYPHONE? Was... was the reaper TEXTING while fighting him? With an enraged noise in his throat, the hunchback charged, swinging the pipe like a baseball bat to smash the phone from the insolent Reaper's grip, and continue to hammer down on it until the thing was nothing but plastic shards on the ground.

That would show him!

((aaaand transitioning back in. XD))

When the fog started to lift, and drifted away down the mountain, Riley was legitimately surprised to find herself standing in the same exact spot she'd been in before it took her. That was.. new. It disoriented her so much, that she moved to sit down on the ground again, just taking a moment to gain her bearings.

This island has properties that were entirely too mysterious for her tastes. It was one thing to have enemies coming at you head on, where you could simply march forward and defeat them one by one.

It was another thing entirely when you were transported to them.

I don't like this place. Riley announced to no one in particular, as she put her chin in her hands. It was obviously a very important announcement.

((Transition back as well))

Riley wasn't the only one disoriented. When everything had cleared out, Jericho found him right back where he was before. The others were back as well.

"I don't like it either," he mumbled before turning towards the mind flayer, "Do you think it's crazy of me to think that we might be set up here?"

With the way things pieced together in his mind, it certainly seemed that way in the very least.

Israfel was a rather innocent sort, ignorant of a great many thing and blind to quite a plethora of others. So when Riley sat down and look like was going into some kind of coma induced by candied brains he just made a tiny chirp and smile of happiness. She was better from whatever had been bothing her. Which was good.
What wasn't good was the attacking. Having been near Jericho, Israfel cried out in stunned surprise. But it was over soon enough, and Israfel blinked. They shiny object getting his attention. He'd ask more about it later. Last time they had to fight he'd been half drunk. And gotten boxes. BOXES. OF JOY. And minipets. He didn't like the JOY. But he liked minipets. He liked shines.

Opening his mouth to ask, a gust of cool air rolled in, and with it, the thick fog. He was lost. Letting out a tiny cry, he stumbled to find someone familiar.

Riley shook her head at Jericho, and peered out towards the top of the mountain. She really wanted up there.. less chance of fog. At least, by all sensible logic it should be.

This fog wasn't very logical, however. Maybe this was pointless.

She pulled her backpack out and opened it up again, glaring at the note inside. No, it's not crazy. Everything should be assumed to be a set up. In fact, it's almost certain we're just being used for some selfish purpose here. As usual.

She blinked at the note, her eyes focusing on the bottom of it. Was there a scratch there, or was she going crazy? She turned on her flashlight and blared it at the note to read it better, since her night vision didn't work very well in this place.

Hello..

A secret clue. How delicious. As she read it, she committed it to memory before turning her flashlight off. It sounded like a riddle. That was all they needed.. a puzzle to decipher. Thanks a lot, Wish. Whoever you were.

The fog was still thick, but they were on the mountain, Calder wandering in from where he thought Christof was only to return to the same spot. It seemed that whatever was happening, it was out of his control to do so. While dragon guy and Riley talked, Calder looked about, pacing a bit as he tried to figure out where to head off into next, wanting to find Christof. He didn't hear or smell him at all, and that bothered him. This dead silence.

He didn't tell anyone what he was doing when he walked off, and headed back into the fog. Telling Riley or her friend that he'd be right back meant that they cared, which they didn't. Riley probably hoped he got kidnapped and diced into bite-siezed bits to feed to the reaper's dogs – which he was sure they had.

It was some time in the smog, trying to hold on to various twigs and such as he went down a small slope. Going up was okay for his hooves, but going down was a bigger problem. He crouched low and moved down until he came to some field. Grass? So he must be somewhere in a valley or back on the bottom of the mountain. They didn't go very far after all. "Christof?" He called out, but heard nothing. He continued to move and paused when he smelled it. Water.

Turning, he remembered Christof saying something about fishing, and went off to do just that. Maybe he could find his friend and if not. He could catch some fish. Seemed it was urgent before. He still didn't understand why and why it stopping being. Personally, he was a bit hungry.

Moving over, he felt the fog roll off still waters and was glad at least he could still sense water. It was a shallow lake, but it was stocked with fish. Smiling, he stepped into the water, before looking about. "CHRISTOF?!!" He called, but he didn't hear some garbled noise of a response or feel someone hit him. That was the problem too. Christof couldn't speak. How was he supposed to be heard?

Well, at least he could fish and show he could do something. As he moved in the water, he paused and looked around. Well, he WAS alone and if he fished, he would be missing with barbs. Reaching up, he unbuttoned his jacket, tossing that over on the shore and then his shirt followed. His scarf remained on, and he took the tail end of the scarf and tossed it over his shoulder. Tearing a piece of the scarf off, he used a bit of cloth to tie his hair up, and then bent down, working to catch a few fish. Despite the pin buzzing at him to step away from the water, it wasn't terribly deep and he wasn't covered in it and hunger was higher on his list right now. Alone, his eyes darkened as he let his fingertips slip into the water, thinking of something to grip, to kill, and to eat.

Glancing at the mountains as well, Jericho had a slight pang of longing. It reminded him somewhat of the ranges that made his home. Those were lovely mountains indeed. Though, it was eerily silent here. No bird calls or anything, which made him wonder if anything really lived here. If there wasn't, food was going to be a problem fairly soon.. Shaking his head to rid that thought, he looked back towards Riley and nodded.

"True, though I'm not sure if it's the Amity staff that's out to use us..." he mumbled.

"We should probably do some more scouting. Though, if that fog keeps showing up, I don't think scouting will help all that much."

Looking over the pendant some more, he began to think about what it was exactly. Perhaps he could find some way to activate it, if it was anything like the ones he had seen before. If not, having another shiny would be fine too, but he didn't think this was just for show.
