Knocked back again, Aurian grunted at the force of the blow. Thankfully it wasn't the blade that had hit her, but the pole was still a nuisance. The hooded creature rushed after Aurian. Gripping her metal pipe tightly, Aurian swung with all her remaining might at its rapidly approaching head.

"Just. DIE!" she yelled at it.

(( Profile. Thank you~ <3 ))

Aurian blinked as the creature fled. The fog covered its retreat - not that Aurian was planning on chasing it in any case. Good riddance to it. She relaxed when nothing else seemed to be coming after her. The metal pipe was tucked into one of her many belts.

Something was glimmering on the ground, where the figure had just been. Aurian wandered over with a frown. She crouched and retrieved the object. She'd give it a closer inspection later. For now, she was just hoping that she hadn't been abandoned by the others.

She no longer felt quite as tired as she had during the fight, though she could tell she wasn't 100% any more. Still, Aurian didn't want to leave the others. She worried, you know.

Trotting down the path, Aurian drew closer to the abandoned town - and hopefully to some other students as well. "Is anyone still here?" she yelled, hands cupped around her mouth to project the sound further.

Holly noticed that West's weapon as well had gone all glowy like hers did. Was it the area? Were the other student's all experiencing that too then? She did feel a bit more like herself during that fight even if it resulted in her feeling tired afterwards. The ghoul grinned when the boil just right out yelled at whoever it was she might have seen. "Jack... not trying to scare them off there are you?" She's forgotten he was more of a leap before you look kind of boil.

She looked to where Damien had been hiding if he hadn't been scared off by West's yell.

The fox ghosts ear's pricked at a yell. Aurian? So was she still okay then? "Aurain, we are up ahead!" If that was her at all she could hopefully follow the sound of Holly's voice. Ah the little group was growing.

Aurian felt like cheering when she heard Holly's voice. This place was creepy enough without being on her own. "Holly, I'm coming!" she yelled back. Picking up the pace, she trotted along the path until she came across the small group once again. This time, no tiny hooded figures interfered, much to her relief.

Running right up to them, she only stopped when next to the others. Resting her hands on her knees, she huffed. The fight had been tiring enough without running afterwards. But it was worth it, to have company. She grinned up at the others.

"Sorry, it seems something out there wanted to pick a fight," she explained. "It ended up running away, though. Did anyone else see it? Tiny little thing with a huge, glowing axe?"

She wouldn't be surprised if it had attacked others. Maybe the path was it's territory and it didn't like people passing through.

So they were finally at the town itself. It had less life in it than a ghost town - no movement, no sounds, not even those of a barely-visible spirit. It seemed completely abandoned, though whether by choice or by death was another worry entirely.

"I miss my scythe," she said, resting one hand on the metal pipe in her belt while she looked around them.

"Holy smokes what was that?" its a reaper you fool, hit him, hit him, hit him! Damien wasn't sure who said that but it sounded like the right thing to do. With shaky hands, he reached into the bag and fished out his metal pipe and held it close. "Gotta make the first hit count!" he told himself, steeling whatever nerves he had , and crouched into a leaping position. "Graaahhh! Take that reaper!" Pouncing out from behind the barrel as if he wasn't taking a nap in the fog, and proceeding to swing the pipe and strike a blow to the top of his head.

Until he saw red, and paled "Crap its West!" he did all he could to stop the blow from hitting him on the head, and letting it sail through the sky before it could connect. The rusty piping fellto the ground a few yards away with a thud, spreading a fine amount of dust into the wind as a gust took the particles away. and Demi stared at the people before them.

"I- I'm sorry, I thought you all were the enemy reapers from far away." he said with a quiet voice, shame flushing over his cheeks. He felt like such a fool, most of those reapers didn't even talk anyways from his memories of previous encounters. And if they did, they would strike first, how foolish of him to think otherwise!

it was impossible to even look them in the eye after his blunder and he put his fists down and kept them to his sides. " Your supposed to be smarter then this Demi, wake up! "I'm sorry." he said, his ears flopping to his head and looking at them briefly before putting his eyes back to the ground for a staring contest that he would never win.

Aurian startled as something leapt forward, yelling about reapers being enemies. The metal pipe was in her hand before she knew it, holding the weapon up in case the attacker decided to come for her next.

It turned out it was just a student, who apparently knew the others - or at least, West, whom he'd almost clobbered.

"I don't think those were really Reapers," she said with a sad frown. She didn't like the idea that this boy thought all Reapers were bad. "They wouldn't even talk to me, and you'd think they would, if they were."

A very roundabout way of admitting just what major race Aurian belonged to. With another frown she added, "Please don't attack me. Reapers aren't bad, you know. At least, not all of us."

She walked over and gave the boy a reassuring pat on the shoulder. Hopefully he wouldn't take it as a sign of agression. She'd offer hugs, since he seemed so freaked out, but that might definitely be too much for someone who might still take her for an enemy.

... But if he was that resolved, why'd he look back down at that hand again? When he did, the nervous anger seemed to defeat itself, and he stilled, mumbling much, much more quietly, uncertainly. "... You. You're a trick. This has to be a trick..."

Had he been paying attention to the turtle on his knapsack, he might have noticed its fin-flapping and anxious agreement to that statement.

"Okay," the apparition rolled their eyes, tail tapping impatiently against the ground, "Let's say you are right and I am a trick. That would make you bat s**t insane now, wouldn't it?" Its mouth curled into a grin, showing rows of serrated teeth, serrated rotting teeth, its hair began to fall down in clumps off flesh, skin bubbling and rotting until it shed its entire facade in one sickening squelch.

"Now where were we?" The thing's form flickered once, and suddenly was behind Elaphe, pure black in form except for a row of serrated smiling teeth. "Elaphe, Elaphe. Noone cares for you. Everyone here is busy doing their own thing, they are too selfish, all they care about is themselves. Now come, let us be selfish too. Let's get away from here, lets go home."

Breathe in and out, breathe in and out, there was no danger here, relax.
His heart was pacing wildly from the idea of having to get into a battle. but it was merely in his mind "Your right, they might not be reapers, I guess I jumped to conclusions from seeing their weapons" he said "I didn't mean to offend, honest. Guess this isn't the greatest of ways to make a first impression is it?" He muttered while scratching the side of his ear.

He took in the sight of the person who was speaking to him rather calmly, noting the pin and letting out a sigh of relief. "Ah your a student as well, I'm sorry for scaring you, I wont attack you, its clear now that you all aren't with them." he said while noting the other ghoul that was with them. interesting attire, but he still bowed to her. It was quite a shocker to see that someone that I might have attack in my panic, just suddenly give me pat, as if to say its alright, but It was a welcomed gesture. "Thanks." he said, giving her a smile. "I guess I'm all tense from whats been happening, you all look like you got into a couple of brawls yourself."

Aurian smiled, shoulders relaxing now that Damien had calmed down and wasn't going to attack her. "Just one fight, but it was with one of those reaper-like hooded creatures. So I kind of knew what you were talking about," she said with a soft laugh. Because of that knowledge, she hadn't been offended. Just worried. Aurian worried a lot - mostly about others, but this time also that she might be attacked for something that wasn't her fault. Really, she was just as concerned with making a good impression as Damien was.

"My name is Aurian," she stuck out a hand to Damien. "It's nice to meet you."

Even under such strange circumstances, Aurian kept her manners. She wasn't lying, either - it was always a good time to make friends and meet new people. And on this island, it seemed like they could all do with as many compatriots as possible.

Something Damien had said made her pay extra attention. "You're right about students. Whatever it was that has attacked several of us hasn't been a student - that glowing axe must have been made from Fear, and ours still seem to be mostly blocked. I can't manage anything more than this." Here she held out her metal pipe and let the shadowy, thin limbs wid around it, starting from her out hand and growing outwards to cover the pipe. "Normally those would be over the ground, but I can't make them leave. And, of course, my Reaper weapon is still sealed away. Whatever was attacking didn't have those problems."

Which just made things even better, of course. Students being attacked by grown, powerful adults. Even if those adults were midgets.

(( just pretend this came before the two posts before it since I am slow XD ))

West continued walking in silence, observing the scenery, until he heard a sudden shout and saw a blur of movement coming for him, for Savior. West knew all too well what happened when the ghoul felt threatened.

He backpedaled as quickly as his feet would allow, bending his body as far away from the hell hound as he could without overbalancing and falling over. s**t s**t s**t s**t s**t! Don't let the crazy dog boil smack the happy-bone-snappy ghoul with a pipe while she was sitting on his shoulders.

"Jackdammit!" West yelled. "Do I look like a reaper t'you!" He fell back a few paces, trying to put a fair bit of distance between himself and the other boil. "I... uh... jus'stay ove'there." he said, holding out his hand to warn Demi away. He quickly shoved it into the pocket of his sweatshirt when he noticed it shaking.

"Elaphe, Elaphe. Noone cares for you. Everyone here is busy doing their own thing, they are too selfish, all they care about is themselves. Now come, let us be selfish too. Let's get away from here, lets go home."

Before, Elaphe had been frightened, and now? Now he was outright terrified. Frantic. Horror-stricken to the point of quivering visibly, his tall ears pinned flat back and knuckles drained white from clutching the lone strap of his knapsack. Even the turtle was flapping its flippers with more desperation now, as if trying to somehow get away from the thing that absolutely COULD NOT MEAN WELL. And the worst part?

The boy still hadn't run yet. Everything in him was screaming and pleading to go, but there he remained, a shaking paradigm of nervous prey. When the 'beast' materialized behind him, he couldn't whip around fast enough, turning so hard and so sharp that he stumbled over his own ankles and, in panic, fell right back on his a**.

Oh, Jack, vocal cords. They had to work. It took a hard swallow, but he finally forced words, tremulously.

"... Y-you're not here to take me home!" he declared, or perhaps denied. He wasn't even sure which, but all he could do was go with his gut and try to get his footing back about him... literally and metaphorically. "You can't be. You... you shouldn't even know my name, an-- and you're one of those guys! This isn't right. It can't be right." Okay, now that? That sounded a lot more like denial. Despite the turtle's desperate slapping against his back, he was wavering.

He'd even tried to dig that blunt sword hilt from his pocket, but couldn't muster the conviction to withdraw it completely.

"I-I don't care, if they don't care..." he told the figure, the apparition, the monstrosity, just like he told himself. "I don't need them... I don't need anyone... so I don't need you, either!..."

Whoa, who went and snapped his funnybone? he would have to admit, it hurt to essentially be put in the invisible corner after West scolded him, but gave him the space that he needed, he didn't even notice the ghoul that was on his head, she blended in quite well with the current environment, he looked at her with a puzzling held tilt before he went back to Aurian.
"Its nice to meet you as well, even under these conditions." taking her hand and giving it a firm shake while waving his other arm to indicate the town and the island and its madness in general. "I was kinda just thrown into this place from the campus and its been a shock to say the very least." he said while picking up his makeshift weapon on the ground, it had a ding in it from the fall but it was still a good weapon, it was still his only weapon.
"Those cloaked figures, I wasn't sure it was fear based." he said while his brow furrowed in thought. "I haven't gotten caught by one of them yet, but I did get caught in a wide spread attack by one, it makes you feel..... funny." He said as he rubbed some sand away from his face. it was the only way to express the sensation he got as it sliced him on the back.

He watched as she placed some of her FEAR into the pipe and it responded to her. He never even tried to tap his fear into his pipe yet, nor try to use his natural ability. He closed his eyes and concentrated, feeling green shadowy wisps trail from his eyes, to his weapon and encloaking it in a veil of FEAR. "So, were being suppressed., it just makes you wonder why. Have you come across any others in here Aurian, its pretty vacant here, any luck finding anything?" He asked question after question, desperate to get a better understanding of exactly what was happening here.

It was quiet enough around them that the ghost could hear every scraping step of himself and those around him as they continued on down the path. Every breath seemed insanely loud, and even his own sluggish pulse in his ears was thunderous. It was, to say the least, down right eerie.

Any nerves he might have been feeling were resolutely squashed though. He couldn't afford them, not with Junko pressed so close to his side, and not with Momo and Jove walking beside him. He had to stay focused and calm, ready to deal with whatever may come their way. Granted, he wasn't the cowardly sort to begin with, but keeping a brave face seemed especially important in this dire situation.

Rolling his shoulders in an attempt to ease the tension that had been building along the bare line of his back, the jikininki gave his ghoul's hand a soft squeeze. "There's not as much fog here," he slowed to a stop, slowing her with him. Even putting an arm out to stop the kitsune. "I'm pretty sure we all got flashlights in our bags, now might be a good time to get them out." He shrugged his own back off his shoulder, flipping up the loose flap with his claw so he could dig within it. "There's less fog, so they'll actually be useful. Probably wouldn't hurt to be able to see what's coming up ahead." Or from the sides, or behind...

Curling dark fingers around the flashlight, he pulled it free. Latching his bag and situating it on his shoulder again. Pointing the light at the ground he turned it on, then offered his human hand back to the futakichi-onna.

Was Seiji alright? Junko peered up at him through her bangs and blinked, nuzzling her cheek against his arm and pressing a little kiss to it. He and the others had worked so hard to cheer her up, it was the least she could do to try and return the favor. He was so tense! She didn't want him to put all the weight of 'protecting them' on his shoulders. Junko was perfectly capable of taking care of herself!

...No seriously! She could totally do it if given the chance! Just believe in her, okay?

She heard yells through the heavy silence around them, echoing off the buildings and making her shiver. Was that West? Here? Damn..she thought she heard Elaphe as well but it was faint. Was he here too? She didn't see where he ran off to, and she'd like to thank him for...er...trying to comfort her. The execution was absolute fail, but the intent was there. His heart had been in the right place...? Something like that. As her hand was squeezed she returned the show of affection and tilted her head, humming thoughtfully. Flashlights? Did they really have those? She still hadn't looked in her bag! Haha! Oops. Junko reached back to fish out the flashlight in her bag, turning it on and pointing the light around every which way that wasn't toward Seiji, Jove or Tomoko. Huh! They could see much better here than back at the beach! "This is creepy...are we really not in Halloween anymore?" Seemed suitable to Halloween! But she knew they weren't..right? Her hair wasn't moving just like when they were in Christmas Town which meant that they had no FEAR, right? Ugh. Her hair. Junko squeezed Seiji's hand and whined a bit, pouting to herself. Stupid reaper.
