Dragain
The figure allowed itself to be hit by the flying mace, but when the boil attempted to tackle it, it raised its axe and swept it across the space in front of it. That gesture caused a wind that would probably force him to stop or in his weakened state, to be pushed back a little. The figure then raised an arm, sticking out its index finger and wagging it at the boil; it was another silent gesture, but it clearly said 'Ah, no you don't!'
Then, without warning, the glow of the weapon vanished as the figure moved backwards into the fog. Just as the fog enveloped the figure, something glowing dropped out of its cloak, landing beside the path to the lighthouse...
HP: 0 LOOT: QUOTE, POST MINIPET PROFILE & RP OUT PICKING PENDENT UP <3 Wind whipped into Petro's face before he could reach the figure and while he would have just forced himself to bear it, the fatigue in his body had him stopping in his tracks. In one movement, he was in a crouch, ready to dive forward to retrieve his weapon that had ricocheted off the figure and fell before him. Brown eyes widened as the figure stepped back and legs kicked off against the road in yet another attempt to tackle him.
Of course, only now that it was about to leave did it occur to Petro to demand for answers. Hindsight. It is clearly 20/20, Petro. And the cloaked figure was clearly gone because arms grasped nothing but fog as his bare chest impacted against the ground with an audible oomph. Rubbing the sore, lightly bleeding spot where the axe had cut him, Petro slowly got to his feet. His guard was still up, wary for any other sudden attacks.
He carefully felt for his mace, but fingers brushed against something else. "What's this?" he murmured as he retrieved the pendant.

((Reaction))
As more people came to the lighthouse, it seemed that the arguments were picking up as well. Quite frankly, Jericho didn't think it mattered that much on the noise they made, but bickering amongst one another was definitely not going to be helping anyone.
Soon the fog began to thicken, and the dragon felt Riley's hand slip away from his grasp. Turning to see where she had gone, he saw nothing but the white sheets all around him. There was no sign of Malodore there either. In fact, it seemed that everyone had disappeared. Well, not completely seeing how he was certain there was someone nearby. It was hard to tell if that someone was a hostile or friendly, however.
Gripping onto his wooden sword, he looked around and tried to blast away the fog with his wings. It was of no use. Though, he should have realized that there was no point in trying to blow it off. This fog wasn't a natural one by any means. It was stifling in many ways.
Most likely, that also meant the presence he felt was a hostile one.
"VOOOOIIIIIIII!! SHOW YOURSELF!" he called out while readying himself for action. His gaze darted from here to there, seeking out even the faintest of silhouettes around him. Nothing.
After a few more seconds of silence, Jericho heard the whispers now, urging him to leave. It was a little nerve wracking to say the least. A low growl emanated from his voice and he started to lash out at the fog around him, hoping to hit something. Again, there was nothing. This was maddening, but the dragon was certain that it was just another of those cloaked figures deciding to mock and mess around with him again. Damn those reapers.
"I KNOW YOU'RE THERE!" he shouted again. If one of those beings wanted to play around, he'd much rather have him within his sights. That way he could at least try to pummel them... not that it seemed like his attacks before were all too effective.
Letting out a frustrated huff, he continued to wander around, hoping to find anyone. While he was certain there was a hostile one in the area, he knew the others couldn't have gone off too far either.. despite not being able to hear any of them. Riley and Malodore were right next to him for Jack's sake, and the rest of the group were pretty close as well. It worried him really. He didn't know if the others were alright. For all he knew, he could just stumble upon a pile of their bodies. Shaking his head rapidly to rid himself of the thought, he went to try and put his mind onto other things. They were able to handle themselves. He just needed to find them now.
If only these voices would stop murmuring things to him! The dragon felt as if they were speaking right besides or behind him, but every time he struck out, his weapon met nothing but the fog.
Gritting his teeth, he considered briefly, of trying to fly above the fog. But that wouldn't help much at all most likely. With how thick the damn mist was, he would run the risk of flying right into something anyway.

"Yes, this way, this way..." The girl seemed to not be able to make up their mind exactly where they wanted to be. One second they were holding Mac's hand, urging him forwards, the next they were nearly buried in the thick fog. This continued for a bit when suddenly, they stopped.
"Okay, found it!" The fog around her dissipated some, enough for Mac to see that they were standing on a small cliff overhang that strayed a good distance away from the path up towards the lighthouse. Below the girl lay thick, jagged rocks, a fall guaranteed of death, especially with Fear being so erratic on the island. She tilted her head to one side, and then the other - pop - went her eyes vigorously, bubbling spiders as she did so. "It's down there, I promise! Just jump down, and you'll find the real location!" Mac wasn't sure why he was following her. It was probably the same reason he had followed those voices earlier; hoping to get back to somewhere, anywhere, that was safe. Her dissipating and pulling was getting even more annoying, and he was about to yell at the girl to make up her jack damned mind when she announced that the found 'it'.
...
'It' was not something he wanted to see.
The Reaper found himself staring down a small cliff, and then the jagged rocks caught his attention. He was standing on a cliff. This girl was leading him to die.
"NO WAY." Mac yelled, scampering back from the edge a step or two. "I am not going cliff diving, and you're out of your mind to think I will!" No matter how sweet her voice was or how sure she was that he was going to find something important over there, there was no way he was going cliff diving.

All around them invisible voices began to whisper, at first in the child's voice, and then deeper, louder, angrier, assaulting all at once.
"WHY NOT?"
"You are going to DIE ANYWAY."
"NO, WORSE THAN DEATH, TO BE USED."
"YOU FELL FOR THE SAME TRAP."
The girl was floating in the air, shrieking, making a dive directly for Mac- "YOU FELL FOR THE SAME TRAP." - and just as it looked like she was going to hit him, she disappeared, into the thickest of fog wisps. The voices were gone as well. ((OOC: Only Mac can see or hear this event ))

What the---what happened to the sweet little girl with oozing eyes?! He felt as though he had done something terribly wrong, really, horribly, very wrong. The barrage of words he was met with didn't make sense to him; they were going to die anyway? They were being used? He fell for a trap?
"WHAT TRAP?!" He yelled back at the voices, his black eyes wide. As the girl appeared to dive at him, he raised both arms to protect and brace himself...for the attack that never came.
What.
Just.
What?!
"HEY, WAIT!" He called out, spinning around with his back now to the cliff. "COME BACK!" The girl couldn't leave like that! No way! That was rude! But it was silent now, strangely silent. "HELP US GET OUT, THEN!"

She had no idea how long she had been staring at the tall tower in the distance, lost in her thoughts; they were going to that lighthouse to explore it, but what's next? What if it was all a trap? What if the voice in the fog was trying to warn her - warn them - of something, and that 'getting out' was their best bet at survival? Her expression was a blank one as she thought about her friends, the island they were stranded on, and the mysterious hooded figures that kept attacking them. She thought of Amrita and the unconscious Tess back on the beach, and wondered if she should have stayed behind to look after them instead of being brave and insisting on exploring the island.
"..." Her grip on the wooden bat in her hand tightened, then loosened again as she slid it back into her bag, taking a deep breath; being down was not her. It was not time to be down! She was sure her little group did not need to take care of a miserable spider right now. Letting out the breath, she smiled and tugged on the straps of her backpack, turning around to stare into the thick fog she had barely managed to escape from, wondering if it was a viable option to go back in to try to search for her friends when she realized that she was no longer alone, but what was Mac doing at that cliff?
... And was he yelling into thin air?
"Mac!" She yelled, waving both arms in the air as she wondered if he could hear her from where he was, "PUPPY!" That was said a little louder; she was just happy to see him; it wouldn't matter if he got upset at her.

Mac shook his head, the silence was even creepier than the little girl with the popping, oozing eyes that probably tried to kill him. Or maybe tried to save him, he wasn't sure at this point.
Turning back to look over the edge of the cliff as though confirming that the rocks were still there and that the girl probably did try to end his life, Mac didn't regret his choice anymore. He didn't really want to die, being blasted into FEAR particles seemed painful, and he was pretty sure there wasn't enough FEAR in this place to properly bring him back to life, either. Lizzy's voice cut through the silence, startling him so bad he nearly toppled over the edge anyway.
"Bloody Mary!" He cursed to himself, scampering back from the edge and digging his fingers into his chest, trying to contain his furiously beating heart. "Where are---Oh." He spotted her just as she decided to call his nickname instead, and he smacked his palm onto his face instead.
"Stop calling me that!" He yelled to her, trotting towards her and what he assumed was the rest of the group.
"Did anyone else see that?!" He demanded of them; he couldn't have been the only one to spot that crazy little girl.

"Puppyyy," Came the happy whine as she gave him a quick hug before clinging onto his arm, not quite sure that he would appreciate any more hugs in his current grumpy, don't-call-me-that state. Of course, it was hard to tell if she was trying to comfort him after what she assumed was a terrible experience in the fog, or if she was just trying to comfort herself - it was probably a mix of both. Looking up at him, she frowned, tilting her head at his question.
"Uh, yeah...? You were standing at the cliff. Was there something interesting down there?" She asked, her frown deepening; he really should learn to elaborate!

Finally, the fog lifted up. Jericho looked around to try and see where everyone was. He didn't see much, but he did see Mac and Lizzy in the area. Making his way over towards the two, he still kept an eye out for the rest of their group.
"Damn.. that's one big drop..." mumbled the dragon as he peeked over the edge. At least if he fell, he had wings to bring himself back up. Though, he blinked at the reaper's outburst.
"See what?" he asked with a tilt of his head.

Although she'd been running for some time, it was the fog that left Riley, not the other way around. She happened to have been at a temporary standstill when suddenly the world came back into view, and the first thing she could see was several people standing at the edge of a cliff.
Her first thought was, of course, that she was grateful she hadn't walked to that cliff while in the fog. That was exactly why the fog was so dangerous. Any one of them could have taken their next step and had it been their last-
Jericho. She emitted with a touch of panis in her voice. She headed to him, but her eyes were wild as they looked around. Where's Malodore?

"Hey, watch out!"
Sheridan had called out, uncertain if Mac could see just how dangerously close he was to the edge of a cliff, a cliff he was certain would mean certain death if one fell over the edge. Why anyone would willingly wander so close to a cliff, well, one would either have to have not seen it, or be having some sort of fit. The later seemed entirely possible considering Mac's odd behavior, was he...seeing things?
"Who are you yelling at?"
The dragon shook his head, he had seen nothing. Maybe the fog was slowly driving them all mad, would the rest of them soon follow?
His own curiosity may have caused him to look over the edge, albeit extremely briefly, before taking a very quick step backward. That was a very long way down, and he did not exactly like putting himself in such a vulnerable position. Knowing the way things happened on this island, one of those cloaked creatures was likely to come along any moment and push them all over the edge. It was true some of them could fly, but others could not, and even those of them who could fly, would they have been able to right themselves in time to avoid crashing into the rocks below?
"Perhaps we should step away from the edge."
And you know, not make ourselves easy targets.

Before he could get a response, Jericho turned when he heard Riley's voice in the area. Seeing that she was alright was a relief for sure. Well, aside from the panic. Frowning at her question, the dragon slowly shook his head.
"I don't know. The last I saw him was before the fog went crazy on us," he replied before glancing towards Sheridan.
"Not a bad idea. Not everyone here has wings after all. But we should probably find the rest of the group."
Taking a quick headcount, it seemed like they were still missing at least half of the students that had taken this path. Just to be sure, he peeked over the edge of the cliff to see if there were any bodies down there. As far as he could tell, there were none. Then again... if someone had fallen they would just respawn back at the beach right?
Unfortunately for him, he didn't know about the whole incident with the portal there.

"Stop calling me that." He demanded again, unable to resist returning that quick hug she had given him. Right now, he just escaped death; it didn't matter that she was a demon, or that she annoyed him. She was hugging him and, jack be damned, he needed it. It was thankfully short lived, and she was right back to clinging to his arm.
Mac gave both Lizzy, Jericho and the other Dragon a rather confounded look.
"What? You didn't see the little girl?" Now thoroughly confused, he looked back over his shoulder at the cliff behind him, and then made a point of looking around. She...she really was gone, wasn't she? "Y-yeah, that's a good idea..." Mac breathed out in response to the unknown Dragon, moving away from the cliff, dragging Lizzy with him if only because she insisted on clinging once more
"She wanted me to jump!" He stressed, gesturing to the cliff that was several paces behind them. Lizzy had grabbed the hand that held his bat, and his free hand lifted to ruffle his own hair - or more accurately, his hat. There was so much about the girl and the situation that he wanted to say, but there was too much, and it all just kind of stuck there, stunning him into awkward silence. Until, of course, something slipped out.
"She said I fell for the same trap." Now, black eyes focused on each individual of the group in turn. If he fell for the 'same trap', someone else must have too, right? Right? Hopefully, someone would know what she meant.

Riley was never good at listening to direction. This came from constantly falling into the natural position of being the one to give the direction in the first place. Therefore, Sheridan's common sense seemed to get ignored as Riley moved closer to the edge of the cliff, bending down to get a good look at the rocks below. She scanned them, looking for.. something, before her head slowly turned to rest her eyes mystically on Mac as he spoke. His words mystified her, and she drank them in to try and decipher what exactly he'd just experienced. She straightened up, still looking at him, before turning in place. It seemed heights did not disturb her - nor did deathly cliff edges. Or maybe she was simply too preoccupied to worry about being on the edge of something so dangerous right now.
Her arms folded in front of her, and her brow furrowed in thought. She knew what the right choice was. They should continue to head towards the lighthouse. That was the path of common sense, and usually it was she who would offer that kernel of obvious wisdom.
But she remained silent, standing at the edge with her arms folded in front of her. The wind licked at her jacket, tugging it out past the edge.
We're missing quite a few people still, aren't we? She turned her eyes up towards Sheridan, and then rested them permanently on Jericho. What, ah.. what did you see in the fog, anyway?

Jericho couldn't help but furrow his brow at what Mac had to say. He saw no little girl, nor did he hear anything about a trap. Frowning as he took all of this in, he looked over the others, then focused more on the male Reaper.
"I didn't see or hear any of that. But I wouldn't be surprised if this was all some sort of trap. I had the feeling it was one after the first cloaked one had attacked us. I don't think we really have a way back though..." he mumbled before turning his attention to Riley.
"I didn't see anything but fog. I... heard voices. They didn't sound like any of us though and they weren't all too friendly. Apparently Mac saw a little girl who tried to get him to jump."
Crossing his arms, he ruffled his wings some and thought some more about this whole mess.
"I don't suppose you saw anything?"
