Boats.
Boats.
She was going to be on water!!
Tomoko had apparently not entirely thought this through when she'd signed up to go on the mandatory field trip. She'd panicked a lot when she'd 'signed away her life', as it had been put. It didn't help that 'phones' plus 'wild animal' didn't really work out. Tomoko didn't have a phone! Her parents didn't have a phone! So she couldn't call home to go "Flsdkf;asdfhasdflkasdfakreuiofs;kl!!!" at them to see what they thought of the whole thing.
Either way, it seemed there was a small crowd around where the boating assignments were posted. Ohhh, boats. Boats boats boats. Either way, the Kitsune seemed visibly distressed as she looked over the lists. Ohhhhh, she didn't know anybody who was going to be on her boat with her! Then again, it also took her a good chunk of time to recoginze her name on the list.
Writing it in Kanji had a way of making the romanized variant look less recognizable.
Soon enough, however, Tomoko was just frowning at the lists.
Boat 3? Ouuu, she couldn't remember who was in charge of boat 3. Wait, had she known in the first place?

"I'm afraid I have not been here long enough myself to answer that question." He too had enrolled late in the semester, having been sent to the school by his parents to learn what he really did not want to know. Though he did not hold it against them, he had been allowed to bring his books, and it gave him a chance to see the stars as he had not seen them before. "But if the mutterings I've heard are any indication, I would guess that it does." He only knew of the christmas events in what little murmurs he picked up as he walked through the halls which was only that -something- had happened. Good or bad he did not know, but he had guessed that it had been unpleasant.

A group hug was just what Maritess needed at that moment, her tendency for melodrama had her returning the hug and declaring, "I'll keep you both in my thoughts!" From the way they were carrying on, one might think the trip would take years instead of days. Still, it made the manananggal feel a great deal better. That is, until the subject of the kelpie was brought up.
Tess frowned.
It wasn't as if the manananggal never frowned in public. But those were the sort of frowns she directed at herself over whatever self-conscious reason she may have. She rarely frowned because of someone else. The spider demoness and the kelpie may have made up, but Tess had yet to forgive Calder for what he tried to do to Lizzy.
"You mean he's on the same boat as you?! I don't like that. Not one bit. Maybe you should tell the teacher in charge of your boat to keep an eye on Calder. Just in case."

Junko was pouting, staring at the list over and over as if the more she looked at it the less true it would become. Maybe if she looked at it one more time the list would change and she would be on a boat with all her friends.
It never changed.
She sighed and turned her head to nuzzle her face into Seiji's cheek with a whine, leaving a light kiss against it and then looking around again to see if any of her friends were nearby. That was when she spotted her, the little blonde kitsune ghoul she'd seen in the first Minipet Training class. How cuuuuuute! But wait! Something was wrong, very wrong. She looked so...confused! Distraught, even! Junko's heart ached as she watched her, biting her lip and turning back to Seiji. "I'll be right back." She told him, following with a kiss before she climbed off his lap and made her way over to the little kitsune. They hadn't met before but Junko couldn't let herself just watch the ghoul panic.
"Hello! Are you alright?" Socuuuuuuuuute!

Johan stared at the sheet of paper, and felt his eye twitch involuntarily. Christof. Of all the boats on this trip, he had to be assigned to the same one as the surgically-trigger happy patchwork boil. It was bad enough that this trip interrupted his studying. No doubt Johan would have to step in at some point and prevent Christof from adding, rotating, or removing limbs belonging to other students. Johan pinched the bridge of his nose with one hand, attempting to ward off the beginnings of a head ache.
That he found the prospect of a boat ride somewhat interesting was besides the point. He had a responsibility to his family and ancestors! At least they were allowed to bring luggage along. If Christof behaved himself, Johan might still get some studying done. If they weren't attacked by FEAR sucking reigndeer during the trip. Which seemed likely. Ever since the Christmas Land debacle, Johan was certain the only reason the teachers ever scheduled field trips was to use the collective student body as some sort of makeshift army. And they weren't even allowed to bring weapons.
Not that Johan needed a weapon. Lifting a hand, he traced a glowing rune onto the wall, renewing the light by which he was reading in his dark corner of the auditorium. He merely had to step into the theatre and watch the mass of squirming student bodies vying for seating to decide he'd rather stand. There were of course other students who had chosen to stand, and with the announcement over, small groups were rapidly forming everywhere along the walls. However, no one besides the gnome who'd given him the list had approached Johan. Going over the list of names for Boat 7 once again, Johan realized that Christof's was the only name with which he was actually familiar. If this was just an innocent field trip, that could be a good thing. Fewer reasons to socialize. If there was going to be some sort of fight, Johan needed to come to grips with the realization that he should get to know whom he would be fighting alongside.

Crowds.
Rosc had looked annoyed as he sat in the very, very back of the auditorium, having gotten there as early as he could so that he could be certain he would get a seat back there, no one sitting behind him. The more students who had milled in, the more uncomfortable he felt, the tighter his jaw clenched, the straighter his shoulders got.
The incubus listened as the secretary told them about the boat trip. No minipets. He glanced down to his knee, rubbing his thumb against the fur between Ripley's ears. The foxsquirrel wiggled happily. "Looks like you'll have to stay behind," he murmured and she looked up, ears down at his tone. A gnome came by and handed him the boat assignments, garnering a frustrated frown. Reading, why did everything at school have to be on paper?
Focusing on the paper, his day went from possibly good to bad. He was on a boat with no one he knew (Beyond the names he recognized from Music Class), not that he really knew anyone. Just Sin, Arachne, and Morton. Another quick check of the list and it went from bad to worse. He'd been wrong the first time, Arachne was on his boat. s**t. Shitshitshit. He hoped they would just be able to leave one another alone.
My luck, that it's going to be the case, he thought with a shake of his aching head, turning the focus off. He looked around, finding familiar faces in the crowd, but having trouble finding those he actually knew. He found Arachne first, but as soon as he did he looked away. It took him a little bit longer to find Sin, who was also looking around. She was way too far down in the crowd much to his disappointment, he wouldn't be able to get down there, he was stressed out enough as it was.

!!?
Tomoko had wrapped herself so far up in her own woe she'd not even remembered she was panicking in the middle of a group of people. So it was no surprise when one of them spoke up to see if she was having a seizure or something. Well, not quite why they spoke up, but none the less, Tomoko turned her epic bright eyes onto Junko, brows furrowing together slightly in her puzzled distress.
The kitsune immediately huddled her ball-of-stars to her chest defensively. Not to say she was expecting Junko to steal it, but it was her security-blanket, dammit!
"I've never been on a boat before..." the kitsune mumbled, again realizing she -probably- should have thought this whole thing out before she'd signed away her life. 'HELLO, YOU WILL BE GETTING ON A BOAT' 'OK. I WILL GET ON A BOAT' 'HERE IS WHAT BOAT YOU'RE GETTING ON' 'OMFG A BOAT, Fds;afkhL!'
It really was a stupid reaction now that she thought about it.
The kitsune's ears drooped a bit as the scenario played through her head, a frown marring her features. FROWNING ALWAYS.

"I will too!" Lizzy declared with as much vigor as Tess had as she nodded, glad that her friend was looking less upset; a hug was a great remedy for foul moods! Well, momentarily anyway. She could understand Tess' worry, since she was rather worried as well about being on a boat with Calder, but it could be worse, right? She could be stuck on a boat with Calder and Mac! That would be a nightmare come true, although Puppy wouldn't try to kill her...
She held onto the ghoul's hand, giving it a squeeze at the frown as she smiled, "He's not that bad - at least he's trying! But I will inform the teacher, so don't worry, alright?" She wasn't sure what Nurse Cricket would do for her though... Wrap Calder up in bandages to stop him from moving?
At least that's quite amusing.

Those eyes. That frown. Those ears. That hair. She. Was. So. CUTE! Junko resisted the urge to squeal and hug her and try to pet her ears, instead giving an understand nod and smile at the little ghoul's mumblings. "I've never been on a boat either! To be honest I didn't even really know how to swim until the other day! A friend had to teach me." Junko scratched at her cheek and pouted at that. She was glad Yaya had taught her, but she really hoped she didn't have to try not to drown. Junko definitely wouldn't be parading around in her only swimsuit in front of everyone. Definitely not.
Junko blinked and watched as the kitsune practically deflated, her ears drooping and her face creasing with a deep frown. What! No! "Heeeeeey! It'll be okay! What boat are you on? I'm on boat four." She doubted this ghoul was on the same boat as her since she recognized all but two students on her list, and she definitely didn't look like a 'Garrett' or a 'Sheridan', but maybe she could find out who was on her boat that could keep her safe if she was scared!

" Great." She sighed softly, staring off somewhere beyond the dragon for a moment, huffing before taking a seat beside him. "Can you believe they're only letting us take one piece of tiny, insignificant, travel-sized luggage?" When in doubt, or lack of anywhere else to take a conversation, it seemed as though the harpy brought up the one thing about the trip that was the most likely to make her miserable; the luggage. Unless she could somehow track down an enchanted trunk or a mystical bag within the next however many hours... "I can do early mornings... I don't know if I can do not having clothes for proper occasions." What on earth did a harpy need extra clothes for?

Unlike many of the other students, Jove did not have any problems waking up at the early hour required for the meeting, he was simply up and in attendance with little fuss. As he wandered into the auditorium he was handed a boat assignment list by one of the gnomes, the belligerent little creature seeming quite pleased to serve the paper to someone not so tall.
Jove scanned the many names, most he didn't recognize from his brief time at the academy. But it was the familiar names that made his little brows furrow into an unhappy expression, as one by one he saw them listed in another boat. He wouldn't have Ren or LW in his boat, or Yaya, or Junko, or even someone he knew from classes. The only name he was familiar with was Alessa, Ren's ghoulfriend with the cookies. That couldn't be so bad, right?
Putting on a brave face, he trotted into the mass of tall, unfamiliar students in search of someone he knew. That's right, he didn't need to feel afraid. He wasn't a child, and didn't need his friends to hold his hand at every step instead of letting him learn for himself. Maybe he would even meet more friends... And, you know, not die again out at sea.

Looking out over the crowd, Yaya spotted a familiar bit of glowing blue in the form of a wee little ghostling pup. Pressing a tender kiss to Sharra's brow, the djinn sat up, readjusting the freymon in her arms, and lifted a free hand to wave, voice calling out over the sound of too many students in one place. "Jove!"
Herbert gave an unhappy little sniff that Yaya ignored.
----------------------------------------------------
Oh Jack, the lip biting. Seiji stared helplessly for the two second the futakuchi-onna pouted up at him, leaned in to catch her mouth in a kiss, and was disappointed when he met only air. What the hell?
Blinking, he turned his head to watch his ghoulfriend bound off to the aid of some small kitsune. Did she knew her? He didn't think so. The smaller girl did like fairly distressed though, so he could see why Junko had felt the need to rescue her.
Resting his elbow on the arm of his chair, the ghost cradled his chin in his palm and watched them, waiting patiently for his ghoul to come back to him.

Vaith, for the most part, was not only clueless but also anti-social as well. He stood there rather dumbly, near the lists, red eyes looking up to see unfamiliar names next to him. Uhhh..
Boat Six.
Not so lucky number six.
He stared around at the mingling crowds, his hands reaching up to grasp both sides of his head in an agonizing pose. What if he got stuck on the boat with.. He didn't even know what to expect on this boat trip. AUUUUUUGHHHH, the noise reaper was visible bothered and annoyed. Too much thoughts ran through his mind, the most prominent thought was of water. WHAT IF HE FELL INTO THE WATER AND DIDNT COME BACK OUT-- Nobody knew he couldn't swim. That was good. It meant he didn't have to look ridiculous. But .. what happened if he did fall into the water?
He was in deep s**t.

He hadn't really thought about luggage, books didn't take much room and he didn't need many clothes. However the more he thought about it, the more he thought it'd be better to leave his books behind, a thought that was making his lips curl downward in a frown. "At least if you don't have it with you, it can't be thrown overboard." Or otherwise destroyed. Perhaps a small word of comfort, but an attempt at one nonetheless, though whether it was aimed at her or himself or both was more of a mystery. "No pets either..." He was still trying to figure out what to do with his 'cat' while he was gone. Well, maybe the two kobolds could keep him in line, maybe, and maybe they wouldn't be eaten...

Myr had found his notice tucked into his bag, nestled between the pages of his notebook. Luckily, he had opened it to look something up, otherwise the reaper might not have ever found out about this field trip orientation.
He had still managed to get there before all the seats were taken, so he didn't have to fight anyone for it, not that he would have anyways, and just waited for this to end.
He frowned when they were given the time. Seven o'clock? Really? Did they not realize that that was just going to be asking for tired and grumpy students? Or, judging by certain things, perhaps that was the point.
The minipet thing didn't bother him, nor did the luggage limitation. He hadn't been planning on bringing much anyways, just in case something wacky ended up happening.
Myr looked at his boat assignment, looking to see if he recognized anyone on it. He was on Boat 3; and two of his friends, Natalia, and Sepheran would be on there as well, which was a bit amusing on its own. They had met on one of these field trip excursions, the one that no one wanted to talk about, but hopefully, this would be better. And they wouldn't crash.
At the thought of Seph, he glanced around, looking to see if he could spot him. He did, finding the Basilisk only a couple of rows away, and he moved to the closest avaliable space next to him. "Sepheran." he said."What do you think of this whole mess?"
