Glancing back toward Riyo, Neko's eyes looked a little regretful. "It's not something for you to worry about, Riyo." Neko reassured looking back at his glass, the clear liquid suddenly fascinating. "It's not important."
Jess' apology barely caught his ears as he stared into the depths of his glass before finally taking another drink. "Yeah, I'm sorry too." Though what he was sorry about he really didn't make clear. Instead he grabbed the bottle of vodka and started to head toward the living room. The conversation had tapered off into something awkward.

Oh no no no. She was not about to be blown off with the flick of a nonchalant wrist. He was upset. It didn't take a rocket scientist to realize that.
Standing up and pushing back her chair, she closed the notepad and followed close behind him. "Neko, don't do that..." Riyo whined. "Why can't you trust me, huh?" Her tone softened and volume lowered in an attempt to keep the conversation one on one. "You can't pretend like you don't want someone to know what you're hiding." She had for a long time.
Jess, now feeling like an idiot (a drunk idiot), stayed in the kitchen, his butt firmly planted in the chair at the table. He had a hunch what Neko had been getting at, but he wouldn't say it. There were probably reasons the man kept things like that to himself, after all. More power to him, Jess supposed. Hiding what you were was a feat indeed. The vocalist himself had kept his heritage a secret for the first part of his life, knowing it'd put off most women (most likely including Anne). But he couldn't keep going like that.

Once in the living room Neko plopped down on the couch and set the bottle of vodka on the end table while he still held onto his glass. "I do trust you but it won't help anything by you knowing. There's no sense in worrying about things that can't be changed. You live and you move on." That was the philosophy he tried to live by, though it was often hard. And he couldn't deny, her offer was nice. The only other person that really knew his secret was Hakim.
"Though...something tells me you're going to pry until you find out," Neko didn't seem very upset by that fact as he looked up toward Riyo. She was stubborn and determined in her own right. She was getting closer and closer to being pushy about this subject so it was only a matter of time.

Riyo was quick to follow Neko to the couch, red eyes glued to him. "Of course it will." She followed up his answer with a smirk. "It'll make you feel better." And satisfy her overwhelming curiosity.
Folding her arms, she looked at him expectantly. "You know me too well. So c'mon. Tell mee. Please?" Even though curiosity usually ended up with a dead cat.

"I dunno about making me feel better but fine." Neko said before reluctantly reaching for his shirt sleeve. After a second of hesitation he pushed his sleeve up to reveal the tattoos across his arms. "This isn't a tattoo." He explained. "I've only been able to learn so much about it but it keeps spreading now no matter what I do. It spreads faster when I use high concentrations of black magic. It started on my back and now its too my arms. It feels like its taking over, like I lose a little bit of myself each time it spreads." He smiled a bit cruelly at a memory. "I remember when I started searching about what it meant I ran into a gypsy lady. She looked me dead in the eyes and told me to enjoy what time I had left."
Neko shrugged before pulling his sleeve back down. At least for the moment he could avoid what he was. Just because he could use black magic didn't mean anything. "So there you have it. You can mull that over a little bit but don't put that in your report." He said quickly. If anything he didn't want Suto to find out.

Riyo had been about to comment on how cool it was that he had a tattoo. Luckily, he had spoken before she had a chance. "... It's not?" She asked meekly, listening to the explanation that followed. Her eyes began to grow very sad, a twinge of anger at the words of the gypsy.
Instead of mentioning anything about the report (though she had no intention of mentioning that anyways), She scooted in closer and looked into the facade that was his eyes. "But you don't actually know what will happen, right?" She asked, glancing at his sleeve. "So some gypsy gives you the stink eye. She has as much right to sentence you to death as I do. With their fancy-a** tarot cards and cryptic messages..." Riyo couldn't help but scoff. Nobody could really predict the future in her opinion.
"You're still Neko. Just Neko with a bigger tattoo." But... There was obviously something bothering her. Biting her lip, she glanced to the side in an attempt to resist temptation. "... Can I touch it?" Nope. No use.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Though Neko wouldn't mention the gypsy wasn't the only one to say that. It was just that no one could really explain why it happened....or were just unwilling to help because of what he obviously was. Usually the later was the problem so finding answers was pretty much impossible.
"Yeah, sure I guess." It wasn't like touching it would do anything he supposed. Sitting back Neko brought his glass to his lips again and started to take another drink while he let Riyo do what she wanted.

Obviously her words had done little comfort... But it at least felt good to be in the loop. Not hesitating when he gave her the okay, Riyo reached for his shirt... The bottom of it. She wanted to see the whole thing, not just a glance.

Neko nearly choked on his drink when Riyo went for the bottom of his shirt and started to hike it up. He expected her to go for his sleeve to see the bit on his arm again. "Hey, hey, hey. What are you doing?" Unfortunately his amount of tipsy really prevented him from fighting against it. Instead the shirt went up his side exposing part of his back and the 'tattoo' the covered the majority of it. There were even parts that were creeping around his sides to his abs and across his chest.

"Touching your tattoo like you said I could." Riyo replied simply, eyes widening as she saw it fully exposed. It was much more elaborate than she thought it was.
Stifling the urge to say 'cool', Riyo's fingertips traced the supposedly natural design, almost unable to believe what she was seeing. "Well, look at it this way. At least it's not a growing tattoo of some fat guy named Steve." Riyo tried to make light of an obviously dark situation.
Jess, who had gotten tired of being alone, decided to brave his way back into the line of fire, daring to peek around the corner. "Hey uh, I was thinking maybe I could find some way to make it up to y- Holy ******** what." Jess was obviously more than a little tipsy now that his alcohol was sinking in.
"Dad. You're drunk. You should sit down." Riyo called to him without pulling her eyes away from the tattoo, unsurprised by his reaction.
"The hell I will! I gotta... I gotta do something. Cause you're my daughter... And seeing this makes my brain go all... explody." Though he found himself moving closer towards one of the spare seats until his butt was drawn in by it's gravitational pull.

Okay, Riyo had a point there. Steve was a horrible name and Neko would hate to have his fat a** tattooed across his back. He would probably just skin himself to save what little dignity he had. Though at the moment he wasn't sure where he had placed his dignity. Maybe it was under the rug, he would have to check in a bit.
And that was when Jess decided to walk in. Great, more company for an already awkward situation. His brain was trying to work out the details but all he could really come up with was, danger, danger Will Robinson. "This makes my brain confused." Though he tilted away a little so Riyo could have a better look. It seemed like a courteous thing to do. He had agreed, as she said, to let her touch it....ha ha touch it. Bad...bad Neko.
While he continued to mentally banter with himself Neko did his best to place his glass on the end table though he nearly missed in the process the glass teetering on the edge rather precariously. "Man...I'm toasted.." Neko admitted without really thinking. Any sort of reasoning was going out the window...he no doubt was going to say things he was going to regret soon.

Ah, just what Riyo had been waiting for. Both 'responsible' adults were now s**t-faced and hardly aware of what was going on. Tearing her eyes away from the tattoo for a moment, she looked at the teetering glass with interest, slowly reaching for it.
Then a thought crossed her mind. A rare thought indeed. The last time she had been drunk, she had no recollection of... Oh God... She was having a responsible thought!
Her mind grumbling, she reluctantly pushed it back onto the end table without picking it up, eyes moving back to Neko. "Are you wanting a back rub or something?" She asked jokingly as he tilted away, half amused at being the only sober person for once.
"Me too. What was I doing?" Jess asked with a curious face, his attention now divided. "Heeey, cool tattoo. I've got one too, but I can't show you cause it's in a bad place."
Leaning in, he smirked and cupped his hand towards Neko, as if thinking he would prevent Riyo from hearing. "It's on my a**. Hehe."

"A back rub sounds pretty awesome." Neko grinned to himself. Though when Jess spoke up he looked confused for a moment before he chuckled to himself. "You have a tattoo on your a**? What the hell is it of?" Neko only knew of chicks getting tattoos on their rears....and they usually weren't the most upscale of woman.

By now she should've realized to keep her mouth closed, but whatever. It was just a back rub. With a sigh and a smile, her hands reached up to his shoulders to try and work out the tension, though her motions paused when she heard her father say he had a tattoo... On his a**. What the hell?
Only managing to continue working on Neko's back when her mind wrapped around the idea, she waited for some sort of explanation.
"Dude. It's of a unicorn fighting a velociraptor to the death. I made a bet that I could take a shot of every kind of liquor in this bar without goin' unconscious. I lost." Jess snickered, apparently unphased by it's daily presence.
"Does that mean I can get a tattoo?" Riyo chimed in, fully prepared to use the answer against him when he was sober.
"No." was his simple reply.
"But..."
"Y-you shouldn't mark up your body like that. Stuff doesn't go away, y'know." Jess's speech was heading down the proverbial hill fast.
"... Yeah. I know." She mumbled. Riyo knew all too well about things that wouldn't go away, both physical and emotional.

Neko sighed contently relaxing into the couch, his tail twitching off the side. Wait....his tail? When had that gotten there? It was as inky black as his hair but the end wasn't like a normal tail, it was forked though the ends seemed to sway in unison. Neko didn't seem to give it much thought leaning into the couch his eyes now closed, the conversation hardly hitting him. "Ah, tattoos aren't all bad. At least you have a choice in what you get."
It didn't seem he was going to hold the same stance that Jess was and his brain wasn't doing a very good job of communicating to him to keep his mouth shut. "I don't think I would have choose a unicorn and velociraptor. Maybe if it was a robot unicorn."
