If I were to rate myself from the eyes of my teacher, and my only other trombonist in the 2nd chair.......
I'm average, but tend to be much a butterfly at times.
xp But, I am the best, besides my teacher, at the trombone in my 7th grade band class.
We're also the biggest band out of the three grades, so two trombones don't really work...
So we play sorta loudish, well sometimes...
Others, we're told that we need to play, and we're like "WE ARE!!" xD
Band is so much fun...

Lets see here:
On bassoon I'm a perfectionist. I practice like crazy when I have the chance.
On trumpet I'm the total opposite. I get easily distracted by watching and listening the instruments that I consider better (oboes, bassoons, and saxophones.), then there's the fact that I couldn't care less about the trumpet, and there's the fact that the other trumpets are talkative, and so is the trombonist. XD
To say the least... I'm going on with bassoon in college. Trumpet would get me no where. I'm sure of it. XD

I do not practice at all, yet I know all of my scales, am first chair at my school, and made 2nd chair All-County and 6th chair at region. I'm a little between perfect and average

Well Im first chair in jazz band and concert band I do like being the best but I dont practice like crazy or know all my scales so im the perfect average xd xd xd

I want to be a bd so I'm a perfectionist at leat on the bass clarinet. But of course there's a butterfly in there fighting to get out. Come on I'm a band geek there will always be a butterfly in me.

Sometimes I am a perfectionist and can do anything, I'm a section leader, I have all my music memorized 3 weeks before anyone else, etc....
otherdays that butterfly over in the next field looks so cute I want to go catch it and have it sit on my hand (I'll catch grasshoppers and crickets during band camp when we're not at attention or marching or anything as such...)

Well, I am a perfectionist, but I get sooooooo lazy when it comes to scales gonk I'm also actually quite loud in class, but I know more than most...

well, i do memorize my scales, and would go first for a test, but i like to chat wth friends a little more. But we have an awsome band teacher, so most of the time i can pull myslef away to play some songs. I know this one guy who joined band only cause it would be an "easy A" he eats candy during class and expects the teacher to fix his sax for him. he text messages in class. he makes blatant insults to both classmates and the teacher. He has threatened to "beat the crap out of me" numerous times. and worst of all, i'll have him in band next year too. Should i just show him that it would be ME doing the crap beating, should i ignor him, should i involve someone else. I need a little advice. So, i turn to my fellow band geeks in my time of need. What should i do?

I'm soo a perfectionist! It annoys people that really detest band to death that I have the mind capacity to memorize all my scales and have all of our music commited to memory. And not only that, I'm even worse because I am really mouthy, which is a trumpet thing, and people get really p.o.'d at me since I'm better than most of my section, but what they do not realize is I want to be a band director and being good with music is a must.
