No, he was definitely planning something, something potentially world-changing. Lucas couldn't even begin to guess the details, though, and he turned his attention instead to the quiet form of the Eevee, hesitating slightly when Claire withdrew her own hand but taking her place nonetheless - the opportunity would be ruined if the little thing noticed any change. It yawned in a quiet squeak of a "viii" and leaned into the hand.

"I suppose this all means that we'll all have to try and stop them or something," she said, her tone a bit quieter due to the sleepy fluffball on her stomach. She would have frowned at her statement, but the cute ball of fuzz that Lucas was successfully petting was too cute to frown at.

"Either that or hijack all their stuff," he replied with a slight laugh. With an organization like Team Galactic present itself as an enemy, it was easy to forget that Rocket was a group of villains in its own right.
The Eevee, on recognizing that it was slowly nodding off, forced its eyes open and glanced around, scrambling to its feet when it saw Lucas there. "Evui vi!" It puffed itself up slightly, as though in indignation at being surprised in such a manner, but made no move to flee. Lucas removed his hand and stared, unsure of how to react.

"Or stop them and steal all their stuff," she suggested, then chuckled when the little 'vee tried to puff itself up, so she reached up to pet its back again. Unlike Lucas, she wasn't unsure or hesitant at all in this situation. "What's your problem, fluffball? He was petting you that whole time. What're you afraid of?"

"Vui! Evii!" The Eevee attempted something of an argument before turning to regard Lucas, who had yet to move. It took a cautious step in his direction, head low, and searched for his reaction. There was none, apart from a somewhat confused blink of his eyes, and so it approached slowly until its nose was nearly to his fingertip. It stared intently at his face.
"Ah-- Claire?" Lucas sat paralyzed, afraid to move out of fear of scaring the 'vee away again, and looked to his company for guidance.

Claire simply chuckled at the little normal-type's defense and at Lucas's reaction. "Calm down, both of you," she said, still chuckling and looking from one to the other and back. "I think it's trying to figure you out or something. Let it see or sniff your hand." Hopefully it wouldn't bite or n** him, that probably wouldn't be good.

"Okay..." He presented his hand as suggested, and the Eevee sniffed carefully at his fingertips, never taking its eyes from his. Apparently satisfied, it began to pick its way around him, partially circling the man. It stopped and stared. "Vui?"
Tentatively, he moved to stroke the Eevee's head; it moved a single foot slightly backwards but otherwise accepted the gesture. "Ah--" He hadn't even realized he'd been holding his breath.

"There," she said with a smile as she watched the man successfully pet the fully-aware Eevee. "See? That wasn't so bad. I'm not sure why it's so timid, but it's pretty adorable, isn't it?" All brown and pink, it really was cute. ...not that she liked cute things.

He made a sound equating to agreement, rubbing his thumb over the soft fur above the Eevee's eyes. "Do you think you'd like to come with me?" They were the first words he had actually said to the pokemon, uttered in a quiet voice.
"Vii?" Come with him? He was getting a bit ahead of himself, wasn't he? The Eevee did, however, rather like the fact that it was somehow capable of being bigger and scarier than this big, scary man...

"I think you should," the young woman told the 'vee, watching the little fluffball curiously. "I know you had fun terrorizing my bedroom but you can't stay here and chew all my roommate's books." She'd probably need to compensate Len somehow. Maybe buy her a new book or something... That should appease the crazy bibliophile, right? Hopefully.

"Vui vii?" It was being kicked out? Tall ears drooped slightly at this understanding. But the paper was so soft and easy to tear apart...
"You can visit," Lucas said. "I only live a little ways down the hall. I bet Claire wouldn't mind if you came by every now and then." He turned to the named as he spoke, expression apologetic in case he had just made an offer he shouldn't have. One of the flattened ears flicked more upright at the remark, though, and the Eevee tilted its head as if in consideration.

She chuckled at the scene, pushing herself up to a sitting position. "Of course you can come visit, since we --" as in her and Lucas "-- see each other a lot anyway. You can terrorize his room instead! I'm sure he has plenty of bed sheets and toilet paper you can rip to shreds. I don't think he has nearly as many books though," she said ruefully, casting a quick glance to Len's stacks and stacks of way too many books. She really wished her roommate didn't have so many... Actually, she really wished she had her own room. That would be even better.

"Ah, no--" He'd really prefer if the Eevee didn't shred his papers. He could handle losing a roll of toilet paper every now and then, but his room was a veritable labyrinth of papers. Sticky notes, notebooks, memos pinned to the wall - every free surface on Lucas's half of the room was positively covered in information, and there was no quick way to distinguish between which of it was important and which of it was not. Granted, all of it was recorded as a means of protection in case he forgot it in the future, so maybe, with his memory recovering, it wouldn't be such a great loss if something happened to the papers...
That didn't mean it would be any less of a mess, though. He rubbed at the back of his neck, "I can buy some toys or something, if you need to chew things," he offered.
The 'vee tilted its head in the opposite direction, clearly intrigued.

Ah, toys, a wonderful idea. Then the 'vee would have something else to gnaw and shred instead of important things, like papers and bed sheets. And toilet paper. "Toys would be good," she agreed, nodding. "I never got any for Odette or Zeus - Odette prefers mirrors and Zeus, well, he just wants chocolate." A sigh. Sometimes she wondered why she kept the irritating rodent in the first place... He'd grown on her though unfortunately, so now she was stuck with the little chocolate-obsessed menace.

"Right, then, we'll get toys." He nodded as well, turning to the fluffy thing with a gentle smile and reaching a hand to scratch its ear. "What do you think of that, Liselle?" He didn't realize that he had given the Eevee a name, let alone that he had said that name aloud. The Eevee itself took equally little notice, or perhaps merely accepted the name automatically.
"Evui!" It nuzzled into the scratching. Chewing was fun, and this 'toys' thing sounded like something it could chew all the time without needing to hide afterwards, so yay!
