Seeing Delphine was looking slightly frightened again Kay stuck her hand out first to scratch Polar's head. "Like this?" she asked Thylassa as she scratched Polar's head gently.

"Ma!" Delphine suddenly let out, the desire to copy what everyone else was doing overcoming what fear she had left. She thrust her hands in Polar's direction and waved them wildly.

Kay quickly brought her own hand back to stop Delphine's from accidentaly whacking Polar on the beak, that would be the last thing they needed. She helped Delphine sit forward a bit more with one hand, and used the other to guide Delphine's hand to the top of Polar's head. "Gently Delphi" she cautioned.

Delphine petted Polar on the head gently, he was nice and soft! Softer than Roo! And he liked playing in the water! Maybe she could get a Polar too?? "Ah?" she asked Thylassa curiously, "Mine!?"

"Yes, the store was the first place I hit after finding our room." Kay answered Gullien, whilst making sure to keep an eye on Delphine. She gave a guilty smile. "I like shopping, and buying presents for other people is even more fun, so I couldn't resist! And all that baby stuff is so cute!"
She paused for a moment. "Except the diaper stuff. Bleh, that's one part of parenting I could do without." the seer wrinkled her nose. "Actually apart from the shop this is our first outing. I heard there's some outdoor areas to, it would be nice to go for a picnic one day."

Aphrodite sighed, letting go of the squirell mishap's finger, and flying back into the apartment. If he was just going to stand there, she might as wel just let him.

Catherine hugged Salem tightly, buryign her face into his chest. "Thank you."

Ike had been trying his best to not twitch uncontrollably, actually. His ears folded back as he peered back to...Cato, wasn't it? The only previous experience he'd had with the Mishap had been rather unpleasant.

"Err...I'm coming, Di," Ike said and took a step forward, trying to follow the disappointed-looking little girl without dislocating his tail.

Rhad smiled, seeing the discomfort in Ike's face. Then turning his attention towards the microwave listening to popping kernals, he kept his mischievious smile.

Leonie wiggled on the couch, jumping off the couch she ran towards the video and DVD bookcase, looking up at the titles. Wording them slowly as she read them. Picking out a yellow DVD, she ran to the entertainment center, stepping on a stool to place the disk inside the drive.

Nariko blinked staring intently at the saytr. Boys were so stupid, she thought as she hugged her pillow. Thinking for a bit, she remembered Wycliff. Well maybe some boys weren't stupid. Hugging her pillow tightly she wandered her way towards the couch sitting next to Leo. "Oo.. whacha gonna watch?" She pondered.

Garreth was busy elsewhere, puling in pillows after pillows into his room, since his was the biggest that's where all the toddlers were going to sleep. "Mama! I'm being respon-respond-respom-sibles." He grinned as he used the wagon to bring in blankets towards his room.

Catherine laughed smiling at her children. "Good job Garreth." She spoke as she pulled her face away from Salem's chest.

Lassa watched Pola' and Defi with the propriatery air of a parent watching her child play well with others. "You can play w' Pola'." She told Defi, misunderstanding the "Mine?" question. Pola' was Pola's. "He can fetch too!" She announced, looking around for a moment for something to throw. Wet toy, big piece of metal... "Gullllll..." She whined, poking awkwardly at her guardian with one foot. "Throw somethin'!"

"Eh, don't knock diapers until you've tried raising a kid without them. It's not fun. It's a nice shop though. We've got stuff from there all over the room. Haven't been to the picnic area, but there's a nice lake area. You want to be careful about how deep you go through, it's got a monster. I don't know if it's agressive or what, but it's pretty big and a whole lot of muscle." Gullien made a face, remembering that particular encounter. Frankly, she'd be perfectly happy without ever going back to the lake again. "There's a pool somewhere here, I know. I can smell it, but I haven't found it yet. The library, of course. I already mentioned that... and there's a pretty well stocked kitchen. You find any interesting places?"

"Gullllllll-len!"

Gullien, ever obliging, gently shoved Lassa into the fountain. Polar, equally obliging, proceeded to fetch her.

"See?"

Delphine stopped petting Polar after awhile and let out a slight whine. She wanted back in the nice splishy water again. She wiggled slightly around on Kay's lap and gave a huff when her guardian payed her no attention. "Fet?" she echoed Lassa. Was that a nice splashy game? She wiggled around more excitedly, she wanted to play fetch too!

Kay baulked as Gullien mentioned the monster. "There's a monster in the lake?'' She pulled Delphine a little closer. "The pool is definately sounding like a better place for swimming lessons."

"Mmm" Delphi grumbled and pushed back as Kay snuggled her; she didn't want cuddles, she wanted back in the water! As Thylassa splashed into the fountain and was retrieved by Polar, Delphine gave a delighted shreik; was this how you played fetch!? She gave one last big wiggle and fell off Kay's lap and into the fountain with a plop.

"Delphine!!"

"Yep, there's a monster in the lake. Insanely big, kinda snake-like. No idea how he got there though. I'd avoid until she's bigger and a better swimmer, myself." Gullien's memories of the monster were rather hazed by the near-drowning that followed. Really, all that still registered were big, snake-like and dangerous. She watched with interest as Delphine spashed down into the fountain.

"Yah, fetch!" Lassa told Defi as the babe feel rump over teakettle into the fountain. Pola eagerly grabbed her by the butt and hauled her back up again. Pola used to do that to her too, when she was lil' and wore nappies. That made Gul-len crazy. Although Pola didn't look too good at it anymore. Cause Defi's pants camed off and now Defi was in the water again. But Pola' still had her nappies. That counted?
"Good Pola'!"

Kay almost fainted from relief when Polar retrieved Delphine from the fountain. "Thakyou Polar!" she exclaimed and then almost fainted again as Delphine sploshed back into the fountain.

Delphine meanwhile was having the time of her life. She had shrieked gleefully as Polar pulled her from the fountain, but it was even more fun when her nappy fell off causing her to make an even bigger splash than the first time she'd fallen in. As she lay on the bottom however she realised that she couldn't stay down there like a fishy could!
She choked on the water as she tried to take a deep breath, obviously Delphi's couldn't breath underwater. The fishy-kitty made a disgruntled face, she wanted to stay underwater all the time!

Kay almost threw herself into the fountain after Delphine, but as her arms entered the water Delphine's head emerged with a bright little smile.

"Ma!" she calmy greeted her mother, having no idea of the total panic she had just caused in her guardian. Delphine spat out some water and crawled over to Thylassa, "Fet!" she exclaimed and splashed the other Mishap and Polar as if to thank them for the tremendous fun she had just had.

Kay took the sodden nappy from Polar and then pulled Delphine from the fountain, bundled her up in her dolphin blanket and plonked her in the stroller.

Delphine fidgeted slightly, tiredness overcomming her desire to protest being pulled form the fountain. She gave a loud yawn and snuggled into her blanket.

"Good grief." Kay finally managed to say slumping onto the edge of the fountain. She turned to face Guillien, "I guess we'd better be going now." Will she think me a bad mother? "I mean we're all pretty wet." she went on "And Delphine loks a bit tired." Should I have been more careful?

Gullien nodded, waving a hand at Kay as Lassa and Polar continued to splash in the fountain. "Not a problem. You probably want to get into dry nappies pretty quickly, I can understand." She seemed to rather sympathize in an amused sort of way with Kay's brief panic. "Hope to see the two of you around again. Don't forget to check out the library... and definately avoid the lake." She shot the denched and bundled Delphine an amused glance. "That one looks like a trouble magnet, just like this one." She nudge Lassa with one foot.

"Wha?"

"Kay and Delphine are leaving. Say goodbye."

"Byeeee Defi! Come play 'gain!" Lassa waved enthusiastically, splashing water all over the floor as she leaned over the fountain's rim. "Take care!" Hmmm... should she say somethin' else? "Stay way from Sabriel!" That would do it. That was ALWAYS sound advice.

"Lassa!"

"Wha?"

Rolling her eyes, Gullien turned back to her charge as Polar warked a happy goodbye over the both of them. Hopefully she would get a chance to talk to Kay again on a dryer, less-Polarful day.

A smile flickered on Kay's face, so she hadn't been a big a screw up as she'd thought. She stood up, picked up Roo and gave the plushie one last wring out. "We'll definately be avoiding the lake." she nodded "I think Roo will be especially, poor guy."

Delphine looked up sleepily from the stroller. Were they going? But she wanted to play fetch again! She blinked at Thylassa's goodbye and managed to disentangle a hand from her blankie to give her a wave. The other girl wasn't all that bad she decided with a yawn, she knew how to splash, had a scary dog thing and had taught Delphi about fetch.

"Bye Gullien, Polar, Thylassa!" Kay waved as she wheeled the stroller back towards their room. She smiled to herself, she had learnt alot after meeting another guardian and Mishap for the first time and there was still plenty to ponder over.
She winced as a squishy feeling emenated from her sneakers as she walked away. Maybe she'd hold off on the pondering until after she'd gotten into some dry clothes.

Delphine gave another sleepy wave as she was wheeled away. "Bu... buh.. by Wassa." she managed around a yawn before her eyes closed. As she drifted off into sleep she went over all the fun she'd had that day. Although one thing puzzled her. Who was this Sabriel person.....?

{New RP
Between Armand, Valerie, Vivian and Cyril.}

Vivian looked around the floor she had somehow managed to stumble upon. This was all so new to her, and she didn't know what she was supposed to do, or where she was to go, not to mention the fact that the teen had her arms full of a wriggling baby boy. "Cyril," She pleaded, "Please, just stop thrashing around!" The girl had never really been that strong in the first place, and having a baby that was intent upon touching every shiney doorknob was not helping. In short, Valerie was not a happy camper.

Cyril giggled at the gibberish that the girl spewed. It made no sense whatsoever to him, but it sounded terribly amusing. Suddenly a flicker of light bouncing off something in the corner caught his eye. The baby immediately wriggled in his guardian's tanned arms so that his stark white hand could reach out towards the copper door handle. The lady made a few more stange noises, and righted Cyril in her arms so that he had no choice but to stare straight ahead. Not that the young Mishap had any problem with that. In front of the duo sat a very large, and extremly shiney, fountain. Of course, Cyril Lucious Aeing had no idea that it was a fountain, but he did know that it was shiney, and pretty, and the stuff in it moved. That was enough to make the boy reach out towards what would be his new facination for the next five minutes.

Vivian was just getting used to having her newly appointed charge sit still in her arms, something that had previously seemed to be an anomaly, when he once again began to reach his arms out. She sighed, and looked up to see what had stolen his attention this time. As her blue eyes fell on the structure before her, she blinked, slightly surprised. "A fountian? On the second floor?" That was strange, at least to her. Shrugging, the teen took it as some sort of a sign and firmly planted herself on the ground next to said fountain, letting Cyril distract himself by pawing at the carpet. Ahhh, how wonderful it was to be able to sit.

Armand was on a roll for life that he could scarcely begin to express. The exploration had started as curiosity hit its peek and he grew tired of whining over the sudden burden of parenthood. In truth, he was no so dismayed by the idea of parenting a child - although doing it alone was not what he had ever had in mind.

On the fine day, he had worked his usual shift and gotten off, gathered Valerie from the office where some secretary had been watching her too enthusiastically - perhaps enough to make the Chief irritable - and he had left, clothed in full uniform with the exception of a gun. Needless to say he was a striking figure that stuck out like a sore thumb, uniform a ridiculous color of blue and almost militaristic. Ordinarily, he would have changed out of it after returning to... Wherever the nearest location with his clothes inside was - but Valerie had driven him to a pause in such routine. Instead of focusing on his attire, he had decided to focus on the exploration and getting to know the little infant he was suddenly saddled with.

She was peculiar, to say the least, but nothing too appalling. No teeth were within her mouth and a certain gentleness was there, albeit covered my adventurousness and trouble. The girl looked so like a seal that it was enough to leave Armand distraught. If ever he left her on a park bench, he was certain someone would swipe her up to take to the circus while mistaking her for an escaped exhibit!

Valerie was oblivious to such an appearance issue, unlike Armand, thus a particular blithe aura surrounded her with each motion or glance given by a stranger throughout the streets. No one in particular had seemed shocked by her, thus she herself was no shocked by them. Armand, however, failed to see such a fact and remained rather conscious of the entire ordeal.

"Just... A little... Further."
Armand had wheezed as he walked up the stairs, his back aching from the work and walk. Valerie, though not too heavy, was enough to send him off the deep end and force him into a hunch. As he wobbled and resisted the urge to jerk back on the stairs to crack his back, Valerie laughed at him, pointed, and tugged at his ebony hair, once or twice slapping his cheeks and tugging at the copper looking skin. Each action she went through was a challenge for Armand, a calling for him to do something funny. However, Valerie's calls were ignored as the man focused explicitly on getting up the stairs. Once there, he finally found himself capable of relaxation! He cracked his back and let out a long sigh of relief before shifting the baby in his arms. He held her away from his face as he patted his pockets, looking for the small flask he had brought with water inside. "There... Second floor. Just a little water... And we'll keep going." He spoke sincerely as he opened the flask and held it out, dumping a little onto Valerie.

Her orca-colored skin had glistened, but she had seemed irritated. Angrily, Valerie had babbled and jerked, clawing at Armand's arm as the water soaked her hair and skin, flattening the dual-tone hair to her head. Once the action was done, she had settled and given her 'attacker' an angry glance. Her tawny eyes had been lit with anger as she observed him returning the flask into his pant pocket. He had looked back at her, but, as she noticed, it was only for a brief moment. Soon he was scrutinizing the room with a bewildered expression plastered to his face!

She too became startled as she began to look around, her mouth taking on the shape of an O at the sight of a fountain. Enthralled by the sound of the water, she began to reach, making some ridiculous sound as if to draw attention to her direction.

Vivian had been resting her eyes, letting the eyelids hang over them tiredly. Cyril on the other hand, had scooted away from his guardian. The carpet, while endlessly fun to grab and pick at, wasn't nearly as pretty as the fountian. Stretching his bone arm out as far as he could manage, the baby attempted to reach the shiney water inside the fountian. Needless to say, it wasn't going very well.

As odd noises rolled around the pair, however, things changed. Cyril quickly pushed his body around so that it was facing the noises. They were strange, but not like the noises Vivian made, and the young corpse-boy yearned to find out the source of the weird sounds.

Vivian only half-opened one of her eyes, assuming that someone was just going into their respective room. However, as a tall man dawning clothes akin to military garb walked into her line of sight, an orca child held in his arms, Vivian's eyes shot open. Cyril spouted his usual baby-gibberish excitedly, his eyes set on Valerie and Armand. There was a person, and that meant conversing which was something that Vivian wasn't that fond of unless she was in the presence of her friends. Then, and usually only then, did chatting up a storm become her second nature. Swallowing back her nerves, Vivian carefully stood up, scooping up Cyril as she did so. "Umm..." She started softly, her voice getting slightly louder as she continued. "Er, hi there." The girl said, giving a small wave.

Valerie's eyes had seemed to glitter with a particular ecstasy. The fountain seemed close, yet so far - and Armand's grasping on her did not make advancement easier. She wiggled and whined until her heart gave up hope and she bowed her head in defeat. What a shame it was! The water looked much more welcoming than that which came from the flask.

As she was mourning her failure, a voice and a wave had caught her attention. Her fin flicked once and her eyes lit up like lamps. With company, there was a slight possibility that her captor would drop his guard enough for her to drag herself to the fountain!

Armand had been taken back by the voice, and perhaps even more taken back by the wave. His dark eyes had flickered to the source, and for a moment stared with a certain shyness. Unbeknown to a bystander, the source of such sheepishness revolved around the very uniform that depicted him so militaristicly.

"Hello."
Armand had spoken while shifting Valerie in his arms. Quickly, his gaze had been shifted - only to land upon Cyril. For a moment he stared, but soon his gaze had returned to Vivian. "I, uh... Hope I'm not intruding. I've never..." His throat was cleared as he set one hand in his pocket, nervously fiddling with the lid of the container of water.

Valerie had giggled at the kiddish sound of Armand's voice. her stubby arms had been raised in the air, an enthusiastic and loving wave given to the two strangers.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 06, 2007 5:52 pm

Vivian’s hands involuntarily tightened around Cyril as she gently pulled him closer to herself. Taking a hesitant step forward, Vivian silently scolded herself for being so shy around strangers. She was here, and she should focus on getting to know the area and the people that came with it. She should not be letting herself silently sink into the background. “Oh! No, you’re not intruding, really… Umm...” There was what Vivian considered to be an awkward pause as she racked her brain for some sort of appropriate action.

Cyril stared at Vivian for the briefest of moments as she stuttered out a series of strange sounds, before his bright green eyes turned towards the duo that was only slightly closer to him. The boy stared blankly for a second, then something in his mind seemed to click at the sight of the porpoise girl waving with her dark flipper. The boy’s small wings flapped joyously, and his hands reached out towards Valerie, grasping at the air around them in the hopes of somehow lessening the distance between them. After all, not only was she a new living thing, she was a shiny new living thing!

Vivian stared at her son for a second before she realized that, as weird as it was, perhaps he had a better idea of what to do in the situation at hand. Taking the young baby’s unintended advice, the teen walked towards Armand and Valerie, slowly at first, but she eventually gained enough confidence to walk with a little bit more speed. Vivian stopped in front of the man and the young girl, and placed her hand out for a simple handshake. Cyril squirmed about in her tanned arms, and the teen had to struggle to hold onto the corpse-child with her remaining arm. “Uh, hi.” Vivian managed to say, in a voice that was perhaps a little bit quiet. ‘Greet, then introduce.’ She thought, going over what she would say in her head -the idea of making her voice audible didn't kick in until the introduction. “I’m Vivian,” Adjusting the wriggling baby in her arm, the teen motioned towards him and continued. “And this is Cyril.” She paused as the words she was supposed to say, took a moment to form in her mind. “Er, nice to meet you.” Vivian smiled nervously, still shy about meeting someone new. However Cyril clearly had no qualms about reaching his stark white hands out to Armand and Valerie in his own type of greeting.
