"It doesn't make sense! Most people would fight to be free, even if there was no point, they would fight...I mean..." He looked down at the floor, grabbing a roach that went skittering by, lifting it up in his paw. "Even as I hold this thing in the air, it is kicking and trying to get free...even if it knows I am stronger..." He flicked the bug aside and sighed. "What if I had decided to keep you in a cage with a lock and key...would you still have been so willing, wood witch?" He was not in any way saying he wanted her to leave, he rather liked her here with him, but it was hard for him to grasp that she would want to be here.

She shoots him an unreadable glance at the mention of a cage, then gives a small smile. "I doubt a cage could contain such as I. Vines do have one nice thing about them. A thick enough one dropped at the right angle can bend metal. Now if my life were being threatened, as in, you were trying to kill me, then I would fight. But simply keeping me from returning the boring, lonely existence I had before? No reason to fight." She shrugs, doubting he'd ever truly understand her reasoning.

The baddie smirked as she spoke of smashing the cage, breaking his hold on her. He laughed and nodded. "I see..I knew there was a reason I spoke to you..." He sat up and leaned over the arm of the couch, watching her closely. "Your reasoning is flawed. There is always a reason to fight for freedom...though..if one is fixed on life being all the more exciting, I suppose it is ok to rush into danger....I'm not about to complain...I get what I want this way..."

She snorts slightly at that. "It isn't losing my freedom if I choose to not fight it though. It is simply making another choice in life, choosing another path than the one most people expect you to take. Unexpected things are good to spring sometimes, as long as no one is harmed drastically from such an event. "Just as you did not act as expected of your race in regards to me. And again, it isn't considered slavery if I don't fight against it, if I don't fight for this so-called freedom you think you'd be taking away from me." She watches him back, tilting her head the slightest bit to peer at him through the tangle of hair.

"And how did you expect me to act? Come out all claws blazing and tear you to shreds without a second thought? Take advantage of you for being alone? Many of my kind have...little tact. I am not so uncouth that I would hit first and ask questions later...I have...lived...to much to be so stupid." He watched her glance at him, he reaching out a paw and pushing her hair back. "Pin it back...I don't like this..hiding crap. If we are going to hide from the world here...you do not need to hide...from me."

She nods slightly as he listed the reactions she had been expecting of their encounter, then blinks rapidly in surprise at him pushing her hair back. "I'll try. It's another old habit of mine since usually the sight of the scars tends to creep others out and make them treat me differently, like I'm some kind of monster about to devour their still beating hearts or something." She says, removing one of her clips to clip the hair further back from her face.

The baddie looked at her, all of her, he not focusing on her scars, not focusing on her untouched side, but at her. He grinning. "You say that as if it was not a true fear, though I fear...that you have found parts of my heart I did not know existed and are devouring it abit at a time..." He lightly touched the scars on her face, he sighing before sitting back. "I guess we are both..different than the typical of our race. Though, as you can see...I am not a pleasant man..." He laughed and fell back on the couch, arms out, he stretching.

She raises an eyebrow at that, wondering what he meant by not pleasant. "If you're talking about looks, there's nothing wrong with the way you look. Black is how the forest is at night, and the bright green that glows in the dark reminds me very much of some of the plants and even some animals that come out at night. It's... comforting to me, to say the least." She shrugs slightly, a faint blush on her face. "And I do not wish to be known as an eater of hearts, personally."

He chuckled and nodded. "i meant more my personality, but if you think I at least pleasing to the eye I guess..I can't complain too much. Though I would like to think it am more appealing than some glowing plant...or a deer in the headlights" He smirked as she insisted on not being known as a heart eater. "Not even in the best of ways then? Perhaps then owning a piece of my heart is not what you wanted." He slid off the couch and shrugged. "i guess next...it is deciding who shall be where in this house...There are...two floors...but...I don't know if we should trust the second.."

She blinks at that, then chuckles slightly. "Nothing wrong with your personality, either." She blinks again in slight confusion at his comment about her owning a piece of his heart, then slowly stands up with him. "I hadn't thought such a thing would happen, but if you do not mind your heart belonging to me, I can not argue against that." She gives a small smile. "In truth, you might own a piece of mine as well. And since it was you who found this place, I will let you decide on who is going where. Perhaps the second floor can be repaired over time."

The baddie smirked and nodded, she really was a smart little witch. "Inflating my ego will only make things harder for you, you do know this. Though...yes..i did find this place...and in doing so, i claim the couch as mine, and the kitchen is yours because...I don't cook." He looked up at the ceiling, seeing the holes in the floor above and shaking his head. "You could stuff the floor full of vines I guess.." He shrugged and moved about the floor, looking at the broken windows and other such things. "These faes had to be slobs...seriously, even my alley is not this bad."

She chuckles at that, then nods, peering up at the ceiling above them. "The vines would definitely help, but I think most of that up there would need to be ripped out and replaced altogether. Most of the wood looks pretty rotted out. We're just lucky that this first floor, at least, is in good condition."

"Well...yea, I guess we are lucky for that at least...but..I there were a few sturdy beam up there, we might be able to hang a hammock or two.." He jumped and hit the beams above them, actually grabbing on to one and dangling there, seeing if it would support him for longer than he expected. He blinking and watching the female, he chuckling to himself. He was not use to hav someone to talk to, and normally he was not this vocal, but it was like a child with a new toy.

She chuckles slightly at the idea of hammocks, then grins at him. "Hrm... I could try weaving some strong vines into hammocks if we can't find any to bring home." She watches him hang from one of the beams and flicking her tail the slightest bit.

"Oh, so now you are going to be a girl, hm? Shopping and the like I mean. You know we will have to talk to alot of people to find hammocks in this town." He laughed and swung till he kicked off and landed in front of her. "...and what is your tail doing?" He poked at it lightly with the tip of his claw, he watching it twitch about. "Your tail has a mind of it's own I think" He perched himself next to her and smirked, he blinking his eyes at her. "So..now what...hm?"
