Well it was worth a shot. When she spoke her answer though, he realized that his assumption was wrong. Being led away from the house, all Mitch could do was follow. As they left the house without asking for Devin’s permission, Mitch began to rethink his offer. What if something bad happens to Selena while they are out? Devin would surely kill him if he let something happen to his daughter. Sure Mitch knew she was a tough fighter, but there were certainly other forces out there that could defeat her. She could probably hold her own in most situations, but it was the other ones that had Mitch concerned.
It would be all his fault for taking Selena out if something happened to her. Devin had his reasons for not letting her go outside, and Mitch could understand. He is only trying to keep her safe as best as he can. Even if nothing happened to Selena, what would happen if they came back and were caught by Devin? Mitch would mostly likely be in some big trouble with him for sneaking his daughter out of the house. Would he get the wrong idea and think that Mitch was going behind his back to put his family at risk? Would Devin lose his trust in Mitch and kick him out? If that happened, Mitch would have no idea where to go. There was no way he could go back to the hunters ever again.
After giving themselves a good amount of space between them and the house, Selena stopped somewhere and asked him why he would help her. The question kind of took him aback, like she was questioning his intentions. Was trying to be a nice guy so hard for her to comprehend? Mitch didn’t really know how to answer her question. He mostly did it because he felt bad for her, being cooped up all the time. “I think it’s more you hate me. I don’t mind you, when you are giving me daggers every time I look at you. I know you don’t like me because of who I was, but that’s not who I am anymore. The hunters I used to be a part of hate me because I left them.” Mitch wasn’t sure if Selena knew that he chose the werewolves over the human, so he decided to tell her.
“I wanted to get you to like me more, to trust me. That’s why I offered to take you out. I see how much you wish to get out, and I wanted to help you. I know you probably still think of me as the hunter that tried to destroy you’re kind, but I’ve changed. I am no longer fighting against you. This isn’t a trap or anything, I just wanted to help.” Mitch hoped that she would believe him. Everything he said was true. Sure she wasn’t his favorite person, but he would never put her in danger.

  It’s been two weeks since Travis found out about Mitch. In one sense it has been a long two weeks. Rookery had made him swear that he keep the fact that Mitch had betrayed them a secret between the three of them. Travis was uneasy about it. He didn’t like to keep secrets from some of the other hunters, and frankly, he was never the best secret keeper. But he knew that he had to keep his word. Both Rookery and Angela were trusting him. So, as hard as it may be, Travis has been keeping his word about keeping quiet. He was just hoping that the time they were finally able to tell everyone else would come soon.
On the other hand, the last two weeks have gone by fast. Rookery has been keeping him and Angela bust with a certain mission. Finding a specific werewolf and a specific vampire, and keeping them alive to bring back to headquarters, was not an easy mission. It took a lot of planning and a lot of nights tracking the targets down. It seemed like every spare moment that Angela had was put into their mission. Yeah, Travis wanted to be successful and wanted to carry out the mission, but to him Angela seemed overly obsessed with work. Everything she did was work, work work. Over the last couple weeks the two of them haven’t even spoken that much, and what was said between the two was mostly about work.
Travis figured she was having a hard time dealing with the fact that Mitch turned his back on them. What exactly happened that night, he will never know. It was an unspoken agreement that they don’t bring him up unless absolutely necessary. At the moment, Travis was in his room getting ready to head out again tonight. He wanted to prove that he could be just as good as Mitch was, but he wasn’t as eager to go out again tonight. They’d been following and tracking the patterns of their targets for awhile now, and he hoped that tonight would be the night they finally got one of them. He heard Angela’s knock and message to hurry up, so he put it and second gear and laced up his boots for another night of tracking through the woods. “Ok, I’m ready. Which target we going to look for tonight?”

 “ I haven‘t seen anything yet. You?”, Michael replied, and Morgan simply nodded and turned her eyes towards the ground. For some reason, it seemed that Michael was a little distracted. True, they were doing a very tedious job, but it wasn’t all bad. Was it? Feeling rather uncomfortable for some reason, Morgan knew he probably wanted to go back and talk to Arraine…but…’ She‘s so…’ beautiful; Morgan couldn’t help feeling threatened. Her Michael was a sweetheart. Always wanting to help someone, but that was -exactly- what every girl wanted…wasn’t it? Not trusting Arraine simply because of lack of familiarity, Morgan contemplated any possible means of…stalling, their return. Nibbling on her lip, Morgan kept walking until an idea finally presented itself.
“ Hey Mike…I…”, Morgan turned to him with an apprehensive smile. “ There‘s something I want to show you.” and grabbing Mike’s hand like old times, Morgan somewhat scurried through the trees towards a treeless clearing; lit luminescent by the moonlight. What Morgan didn’t think Mike knew, was that this was the place near the border where she had rummaged about that fateful night when a vampire bit her. To be honest, outside of being vague, she hadn’t told anyone exactly where she had been changed. Even if her hidden motive was to stall time, since she and Michael were…not exactly friends now, she felt it alright to share personal information. Hopefully, he would at least feign interest in her story; if he let her tell it.

Of the e•a•r•t•hXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX  Hearing what Mitch had to say confused Selena. This whole thing had to be a trap that he was setting up. He was just going to get her to trust him and then when her back was turned, he would stab her in the back. However, she was finding it hard to believe that any hunter would go through the trouble of changing into a werewolf just to mislead them. He had to be telling the truth. But that didn’t mean that Selena had to like him.
Rolling her eyes slightly at what he was saying she looked out into the forest. She couldn’t continue to deny that he telling the truth. It was obvious from his tone. ”Whatever. Are you going to continue going on with that sappy stuff or are you going to join me in having some fun before my father locks me away again?” She smirked slightly at him and then took off running.
As she ran, she kept in her human form. She wasn’t yet ready to change into her wolf shape yet. Even running in her human form was freeing in itself. The forest held so many possible challenges and she let out a genuine smile for the first time in a long time. This feeling was enough to make her feel like she never wanted to go home. She stopped for a bit and looked behind her, wondering if Mitch would follow or simply ditch her.

► I don't want to change the world ~ I just want to leave it colder ◄ Angela waited impatiently outside the door. She hated down time more than ever. Hopefully once they actually caught one of their targets then she would be less on edge. The thought that she was a failure had been going through her mind a lot recently. If she was good at her job, there was no way she would ever let Mitch agree to become one of them. Then he would never have become crazy like he was now. Things would be the way they were supposed to be.
”We’re going after the vampire tonight.” Angela said. Once Travis came out of his room she started walking for the exit. There was only so much time before the sun came up and then they would have to wait for the next night. "Rookery has been able to give us some coordinates for where their base is. Our target should be in the area. We have to work fast though.”

He would like to go chat with Arraine and also have some fun time with Morgan. He didn’t think it would be that ‘professional’ to mess around while they were on a mission from Rameses. He was happy to know they probably didn’t have to be out here much longer. Once the entire perimeter was checked, they could go back home and do whatever they pleased unless the boss had something else in mind for them.
He was instantly taken from his thoughts when Morgan spoke. Turning his head in her direction, he found her smiling. Now he was curious to know what she was smiling about. He wouldn’t have to wonder long because she took his hand and then started off in a direction. Smiling, he was perfectly fine with following her. She seemed happy about whatever it was she was planning on showing him that he felt he couldn’t help but share in her excitement.
That was, of course, until they reached their destination. Once they stepped into the clearing and Michael could sense that they wouldn’t be continuing on, his stomach dropped. Why did she take him here? He remembered this place all too well. Sure he had been young at the time but there was no way he would ever forget the way this place looked. ”Why are we here?” He couldn’t come up with anything else to say. He was too shocked.
