Reprimanding Barth was a lot more difficult with things suddenly falling from above. He gave a strangled yelp as the blanket came down- thankfully clean- to engulf him until he staggered directly into the pile- which was not. Well, it seemed this one needed to go through again. Struggling his way out of the disgusting sheets and blankets, snorting frantically through flairing nostrils he glowered up, ready to take his revenge on who ever had dropped it.
The buzz of enraged, indignant thoughts were cut short by one word, MISTRESS!
But he had come to know that look in her eyes, she was busy conversing privately. Flushing, he struggled his way out of the pile once more, brushing himself off. At least Barth's pile of paperwork tucked in his vest remained unsoiled. But that was about it. Uggg. Thank you, Mistress.

Surprisingly, although Barth couldn't hear Christof's mental shout, he had helpfully lifted one edge of the blanket engulfing Christof.
They were working in the same area.
The hunchback tore out of the rest of the pile in a rage.
"Alright? You seem a bit more, err, flustered. Than usual."

Maritess reluctantly let go of Lizzy to work, insisting "You should hang the blankets up. Away from any of the cauldrons. We could trade jobs." Her mouth was set in a grim line, her fangs peeking out ever so slightly. The look in her eyes pretty much promised Tess wasn't letting Lizzy anywhere near the cauldrons. Water or bleach. She took her new position at the same bleach-filled cauldron Lizzy was nearly dunked in. Tess was certainly reevaluating her opinion of the kelpie.

Riley digested the information Yaya offered, trying to decide whether now would be a good time to try and sneak out, after all. She looked at her dwindling pile, weighing the benefits of sneaking out versus staying and finishing the job she was given. Hearing the cry from Christof, she cringed, and looked back down at him.
I said I was sorry! She murmured, sending him an affectionate nudge, before getting back to work.
Well, I wouldn't mind if, for once, something horrible didn't happen when we least expect it. She murmured to Yaya. Let's see if we can finish this fast enough to make that dream a reality. That was enough incentive for Riley.

He'd been doing what he'd been told. Cleaning. Again. Disgusted, Israfel was at least happier he didn't have to deal with anything too bad. He often had to hand clean his more fancier clothes. He didn't trust the gnomes after all. No sense of style or fashion or how to handle his silk shirts. Everything was fine until...was that...
Dropping the bundle of dirty sheets, Israfel watched from a distance as he friend lashed out at a teacher. That teacher being Red no less! Poked back to his work by a gnome, Israfel looked around to his fellow students. He wanted to cling to someone. Badly.

Claire no longer had any respect for this Hellma woman. She was, however, extremely scared of her. She was so upset at how terribly brutal this punishment was. She wasn't even there to play! It was all an accident! Claire thought it best not to say that to Hellma or that other teacher... Red, was it? So she kept her mouth shut and dealt with it by being moody and irritable. She had a job ahead of her. No matter how disgusting and painful, it was her duty. "H-Hi, all. Uhm. This looks fun!" she muttered sarcastically. It wasn't to anyone in particular. "I suppose I should... Uh... Start cleaning, then." She picked a nose peg from her bag and rolled up her sleeves. She was wearing an old t-shirt that her mother owned. She picked up a sheet and gagged. It was just...Ugh. Claire simply assumed she was going to be stuck with the horrible cleaning job, so she got to work. GROSS.

Israfel noticed the demon girl. The tiny demon girl with a mouth on her stomach. or, was it part of her stomach? Unsure really, given he'd seen her eat a live follyjox and she was some kind of demon and not a monster....even if he was 99% suure there was a monster with a demon for a belly somewhere. It wouldn't be to surprising. Israfel wanted to cling to someone. The demon girl was close. So, he scooted is way over. Scoot Scoooot SCOOOOOOT Soon, Israfel was next to Clair, and he wore a tiny smile. "Hi."
He was kind of awkward.

Claire noticed the boil. He was... Odd. But she didn't mind, it was company and right now she needed someone to get her mind off the dreadful task. She was also glad that he was there, and her mood pretty much disappeared. "Hello." She peered at him curiously. "I hope this detention doesn't take too long. It's really smelly in here. And not the good smelly. Bad smelly. You know what I mean?" She bit her lip. She didn't know this boil, but he looked familiar. She assumed that he had been at the truth or dare too. She stared intently at his face, wondering. She then moved her non-stinky hand and pointed at his face, gently poking his nose. She then shrugged and moved over so that he had room to help her with the laundry. "What's your name?" She asked him. The sheet slipped through her fingers and then stopped as the warm liquid that had a distinct green tint to it reached her fingers. This is absolutely gross. Is this legal? Ew.

This... was beyond annoying. Nyyrikki dumped a load of blankets into the cauldron and then leaned his head against the giant prop, tired and cranky as he usually was before 3pm. This just.. wasn't going to work.
And then Red walked out and he had his chance. Eying the gnomes around him he tried to make himself look casual. He even picked up another pile of blankets and dumped them into the cauldron. But the minute that was finished he shadow shifted for a split second, crouched, and as he reformed, began to dash for the wall. His chains came loose from his arms and with a leap he hooked them around a protrusion in the wall. If he could just get to that window he'd be able to make it out without a problem. His feet planted themselves flat against the wall and just as he was about the jump for it, a stack of gnomes took him down.
For tiny things, they had strength in numbers, and they heaved him into the blanket pile. The... unrecognizable blanket piles.
"For Jack's sake!"

She shook her head at Livi as Tess released her from the hug, "I'm fine now! The faster we finish this, the faster we leave... I should continue to help." She managed a smile, flexing an arm as if to show that she really was fine; besides, despite the rather shocking experience, she really wasn't hurt in any way... She'll just have to talk to the Kelpie about this one day...
"Thank you, Tess," She beamed at the ghoul, glad that the Undead was thinking the same thing she was - while she was not mentally scarred by the incident, she was not about to fuel her already declining respect for Calder by staring at the vat of bleach she was almost pushed into... Ugh, and she had such a good impression of him before too! All spoiled just because he couldn't control himself?
She looked as Tess took over her station before moving over to where the blankets were being hung out to dry. While the smell of soap and bleach were present on some of them, at least most of the nasty stains had been washed out. Tucking her hair behind her ears in order to get into the mood for work, Lizzy begun to hang out the blankets to dry, placing two sheets to overlap each other a little before pegging the overlapping part down to the line.
"Right, a million more to go..." She muttered softly to herself.

Maritess keep an eye on Lizzy until the demon ghoul reached the clotheslines where Riley and G were as well. She wasn't completely certain that her friend was out of harm's way but at the very least she could rely on G to take care of her, right? He was on the student council after all and he had saved Calder during their detention in the Other Bathroom. At the thought of the kelpie, Tess became visibly saddened. She still didn't know what caused him to attack Lizzy like that. She slowly took a deep breath (covering her mouth and nose because Jack damn that bleach was strong) and picked up the stirring stick to begin poking and prodding and stirring the blankets that had been dumped into the cauldron.
It then occurred to her that with Calder gone no one else was on bleach cauldron duty with her. The corners of her mouth pulled down but Maritess wasn't going to complain. She wasn't letting Lizzy back here so she wasn't going to give her a reason to!
"Hope I don't go stir-crazy," she chuckled to herself.

Carthusia frowned and walked to where Lizzy had been standing. This one had the right idea and since none of them could leave without finishing the job, they might as well buckle down and do what needed to be done. She took up one pile of the left-to-do blankets and looked to Lizzy to see how to go about finishing this terrible job. The girl looked as good as she could despite almost being drowned by the Romance Guru. Apparently he couldn't hold himself together around vats of water, which made the demon nervous. Was he one of those individuals that had to be put away because they had no self control? The thought was downright frightening. Carthusia frowned and started to wash some of the blankets in the bleach, rolling up her sleeves as she did so. This was ridiculous, but at least not dangerous. Well, not dangerous usually.
She would have leveled a glare at Calder had that been beneficial or constructive, but it wasn't. Instead, Pride's wings kept her long hair in check as she started to scrub. The blankets were heavily stained with Jack-knew-what and to keep from pondering it, Carthusia struck up a conversation with those nearby. "A million more to go, but more arms to help, right?" she offered with a tired smile. Laundry was hard work, and now she wondered if the gnomes had all kept up with it, or if it was never kept up with at all. That thought disturbed her a little. "Claire, you want to help by folding? It doesn't smell so bad over here."
Having three other Avarice around was comforting for certain. Barth was being his usual self, but at least Claire and Livi had the right idea. Dunking another blanket into the vat, Carthusia started to scrub again. Hey, think about it this way - all this scrubbing may lead to muscles?

Feeling a bit better once Lizzy proved she was feeling better, he gave a nod and a grin before he went back to his nightmare of a job. This had to be the worst set of dirty clothing he had ever seen. Though he understood that kids could get rather messy, this took the cake in a whole different way that he didn't like. Why did he seen tons of scrubbing and almost searing hot water in his future? Yeesh... kids needed to be taught better hygiene...
Seeing Carry working made him smile softly, though he was sure she was just as displeased with it all as the rest of them. Part of him wanted to ask her to a proper dinner to get her mind of such things, but she was talking to Claire at the moment and it was rude to interrupt ghouls. He had learned that lesson the hard way. So, for the time being, he'd ponder where to take her as he went back to hefting up his load and carrying it into the nearest cauldron. And though it was rank and the small seemed to sear every sense he had, thinking about a possible (romantic? haha he didn't know if he could pull that off >> ) dinner with his 'ghoulfriend' made this fiendish hell... suddenly not that bad.

She noticed a orange-haired Demoness looking her way, even if it was only briefly. Being polite, Lizzy offered her a smile and a dip of her head as a brief greeting; wasn't she an Avarice like Livi, Claire and Barth? However, the ghoul's name slipped her mind at the moment, although she had heard rumors about her being Livi's ghoulfriend... They really should get acquainted some time! Judging from her gorgeous dress, she must have good fashion taste; perhaps she enjoys shopping too?
While she would love to join the Pride Demoness, her priority was to get the blankets hung up for drying; while she noticed that G and Riley were making good progress, she figured that an extra part of hands (well, technically, she has four pairs) would help.

"More so taking a break from stirring the cauldrons. It gets to be some hard work," Raziel replied to Barth. He continued tossing a few more blankets to their designated piles, then paused for a moment to look around. It seemed that for the most part everyone was minding their own business, or busy with just a person or two. Perfect.
"Barth. How would you like to make an escape plan with me and get the jack out of here?" Raziel whispered to the demon, under his breath. He had a devious smirk on his face and a kind of glow in his eyes from the excitement of the possibilities.
((Raziel already tried to escape earlier.. and I think Barth did too? But I'm sure we can work around that ;D )) (( word count 823 so far ))
