Artto Also, why would big breasts in turkeys, and "mutations and deformaties" be toxic? It's still just meat. Mutations are on a genetic level and can cause poor immune systems, allowing the animals to get sick and potentially spread disease to whoever eats them. That's how Mad Cow disease became an epidemic.

Lord Redtail Rathan I'm not fighting EVERYONE in this thread. Just people that whine and b***h. Turkeys grow in the wild all the time. As does cattle, chickens, and swine. And no, the US eats about 75% meat and 25% vegetables. Except for those that are vegetarians or vegans. the US is actually one of the best fed countries on Earth. Because of the sheer a**l inspections performed by the FDA. Saying that we're eating poison shows you know almost nothing about the food inspection process. And if you look at the title, this is a debate about the drinking age, not food. If you want to get in to that, take it to another topic. It seems you tend to argue with anyone who disagrees with your opinion. And by the way, read more careful. I said species, not percent. The only animals eaten that are truly good for you are heritage breeds. I work at a zoo which is FDA and AZA approved; I was required to learn this in order to complete my training so excuse me if I know a little more than you.

You'd be surprised just how much I know that you do as well. To take your quote: "So excuse me for being a medical professional." Now for the life of me, I cannot find out why a zoo would require you to receive FDA training on human nutrition. Unless the zoo has a human exhibit? You're not making any sense at all with your final post. Just please tell me you're not a member of PETA...

Mad cow disease has nothing to do with the immune system, since it's not caused by viruses or bacteria. It's caused by prions, which the immune system can do nothing about.

Artto Also, why would big breasts in turkeys, and "mutations and deformaties" be toxic? It's still just meat. The "mutations and deformities" of which you speak are from giving the turkey chemicals, whether through feeding or injecting or whatever. Point is that the turkeys are literally stuffed up with chemicals. So when you eat a turkey breast that's abnormally large, you're also eating the chemicals it was given to have that big breast.
It's not just meat. And this point is non-sequitur to alcohol consumption as far as I'm concerned. Unless you'd like to enlighten this thread on how it is connected.

Roxy Hazard started it and I also questioned how meat came in to the picture.

Uulmshar I don't think there should be a drinking age at all. Are there any developed countries in the world that have no drinking age at all?

Matasoga Uulmshar I don't think there should be a drinking age at all. Are there any developed countries in the world that have no drinking age at all? Not that I have heard of, but I'm not interested in "developed," "developing," or "undeveloped:" I just want to live my life and not have a government knocking down my door every few days for letting my kids have wine with dinner or walk around naked.

Fair government is an oxymoron. And no matter how fair and impartial a government may be, you'd still have to put up with the type of things you do now.
