Braum raised an eyebrow to Corbin, giving a nod of thanks but otherwise shaking off his inquiry about his wings.

"They were compromised with the train, but they don't need tending to, really. I just can't do as much with them, don't worry about me....it's the girls I care about,"
he frowned, turning to watch Iolanthe hobble back to the group. No. He didn't like this at all. Biting his lip, he almost considered giving Iolanthe a tiny sip of his toxins latched to his belt. Too much would make her violently ill, but no more than a few drops could put her in a drug-induced sleep, and numb the pain for quite a few hours. Gods knew he chugged it when the migranes of a vision plauged him, he'd be chugging it now if he didn't want to be too loopy to take care of everything. As it was, his head hurt far more than his wings, and his heart was heavy with worry. His nose wrinkled and he looked down at Hadiyya, his voice playful but soft. If only she were awake to appreciate the irony of his statement.

"I'm not sure I like this newfound sense of morality and duty, little marid," he mumbled, wiping some hair out of her face and nodding to Corbin.

"Nests." he said simply, jerking his head towards an outlook-like cliff. There was a hollow space beneath it, so they'd have something at their backs and be able to defend better, not to mention it would cut the cold winds. He grunted softly. "We can push up snow and make nests of it. It's cold on top, but I've noticed when you stand in one spot too long and your feet sink, it feels warmer the farther down you go. If we can dig out a large nest for everyone to share, we can keep more heat in, and the others can rest."

Looking directly at the Wraith's face, Braum's reflected the picture of concerned authority. It was clear he actually cared about the outcome of the group, even the new comers, and gently handed Hadiyya over to the Wraith, albeit a little begruddgingly. "Bandage her for me? I'm useless at first aid...." he inquired, his voice carrying a hint of hope with it before he turned quickly towards Iolanthe. He knew it was improper to be so forthright with a lady he had no intention of courting, especially with her brother right there, but the girl was obviously hurt. Swooping her up, his face fell into a nonchalant expression, and he gave her a stern, almost paternal look of 'no fussing now' as he carried her over to the group to keep her from hurting her leg and arm anymore. Looking to Livi, he gave an apologetic look.

"Liv.......look at them. They need rest, and we can't afford to use all of our bells this early on."

(( POST NOW AVAILABLE, TIME PAUSE HAS ENDED ))

It was a heavy responsibility Braum just placed into Corbin's arms in the form of an injured ghoul and the Wraith was not about to let the raven down. Looking down at her, his brows knit in worry, he attempted to cradle her as comfortably but impersonally as possible--the last thing he wanted to do was give off any inappropriate connotations, especially since it seemed perhaps she and Braum were an item.

Strictly professional.

Picking her up and taking to his feet, the Wraith drew his wings in front of himself and wrapped them gently around the Marid. Hopefully it would keep her as warm and comfortable as if Braum were still holding her. With a raised brow, he glanced to the nearest person with a faint, though pleading, aura. "Where's the place he was talking about? We can hole up there at least while I patch her up." If he was going to do this, he was going to do it right. What other way was there to do anything?

Iolanthe glanced up at Livi as he came over to inspect her. Even in her condition she managed a weak smile, endlessly amused at his good manners. The amusement faded to a deep, heartfelt thankfulness as he slipped the jacket over her shoulder. She managed to hook her good arm in the sleeve so it would stay on better, but she didn't even dare try with the injured one.

"Always such a gentleman," she croaked out softly, cradling her arm against her chest. She grimaced a little at the movement and her face turned very serious as she looked up at him to answer his question. "I think my arm might be broken, actually," it was said very quietly, as if she were afraid her brother might overhear.

Her eyes sought out Gabe then, just to make sure nothing awful had happened to him while she'd been distracted - these monsters did seem to come out of nowhere. She was relieved to see that he was still standing with the bunny, who looked absolutely terrified at this point. "You're pretty useless, you big lug." It was weak, but still joking - she wasn't used to being the one that needed help out of the two and she didn't know how well he was going to take it. She thought a little joking might ease up whatever tension he was feeling. At least, it made her feel a little better anyway.

She was surprised as she glanced up to find Braum looming over her and even more startled as he leaned down and swept her up into his arms. She opened her mouth to complain but was met with a look that told her it was best to just accept the help. She sighed then and leaned her head into his chest from simple weariness, finding that it was easier on her to relax and let him carry her off wherever he meant to. It was also a lot easier to cradle her injured arm against her chest when she wasn't sitting completely upright. Her eyes drifted shut from simple exhaustion, though she fought hard against sleep as it threatened to claim her out of simple self preservation. She had faith in Braum and what he planned to do, but she wanted to be awake long enough to know what was going on.

(( Catch up post of doom yay! ))

Damn, this place was more dangerous. Within a few minutes of more people showing up, two new types of enemy had shown up as well. One of them a huge furry beast and the other some kind of odd... thing made of snow. s**t. The dragon couldn't do much to help in either battle, and cursed under his breath when one of the two fighting was obviously hurt badly. But then she was rescued by Braum... and now several of them were suggesting rest.

And as much as Aksaja wanted to get through this area as quickly as possible, he couldn't really argue with that. They shouldn't leave anyone behind and protecting someone that was exhausted and hurt would slow down the group as well. Better to rest and (hopefully) start out fresh later. Looking about, the dragon quickly spotted the cliff Braum was talking about.

"This way," he said quickly when Corbin looked about, holding the more injured of the two girls. Then Aksaja set out through the snow, trying to keep an eye out for more enemies - though how they were supposed to see them when they were white he wasn't sure.

One minute she was about to be killed by a snow ninja and the next she was sitting on her butt, staring at an entirely different group of people. "Colette? Barth? Alwine? Tsetsiliya? Belladonna? Mandy?" She said each name barely above a whisper. Were.. were her friends dead? Colette had just healed her and what did she do? She had let them down. That yellow snow did nothing but send her away from her friends. She was supposed to die with them. All for one and one for all and the ninja ROBBED HER OF THAT!

Well, that does it! No more Miss nice Rain! No more optimistic outlook! Christmas was going down and anything that got in her way would go down with it. She pulled her hoodie up over her head, something she only did when she was in a bad mood. She crouched low to the ground and let out a cry, one filled with both pain and rage. She was no longer just a zombie. While she wouldn't have her natural abilities or fear here, the hunter within her was ready for blood all the same. She would make do with her teeth and claws.

SHE WOULD RIP CHRISTMAS TO SHREDS!

Gabrian turned to look at Livi, "While I would usually agree with you; it is most impolite to introduce a ghoul as such, I find that I must do so in this case," he didn't really look riled up, or even particularly mad. In fact, for the time being, the nix demon looked... relaxed. Mostly because he'd finally made sure that both the rabbit and his sister were actually safe, "I would rather my friends tell me when I'm doing something horribly stupid that might cost me my life. At least, I would hope that those friends that actually care about me would do so," after all, Io was not above telling him when he was being an idiot. In fact, she did so quite often, and Gabrian found that he was actually glad for it, since the situation often called for it. He'd also managed to somehow admit, all in one breath, that he not only apparently, for whatever reason, thought of Alessa as a friend, but that he actually cared about her.

"I know Alessa enough that I consider myself in my right to tell her when she is doing something unwise," he drawled out the words, still looking at the avarice demon, "The situation we currently find ourselves in does not warrant for stupidity or pride," then he finally turned to look at the rabbit in his arms, "You're obviously hurt, tired, and too prideful to admit to it or even ask for help. If you're hurt, you should ask for help - we really can't afford pride right now," a pause, followed by a sigh. Either the cold was getting to him, or... well, yeah, he was going to go ahead and blame the cold for his following words, "You had me worried."

Unfortunately, Gabrian was unable to continue the conversation at hand, because out of nowhere came not one, but two monsters. One seemed to attack the ghoul that was approaching, while the other focused it's attention on his sister. With a sharp, disproving hiss, he moved aside, allowing his sister room to battle, "Io!" it was the only thing he said before he grit his teeth and thought better of it; he didn't think that interrupting the battle, or distracting the battling ghoul was a good idea. He was, after all, pretty sure she could take perfect care of herself.

As such, he kept away from Iolanthe, taking a moment to actually shield the rabbit in his arms, almost instinctively. He offered Alessa no mocking words, no smirk, no nothing; in fact, where the rabbit to look up, she'd find him to be scowling deeply in the direction of the large, hairy monster that was battling against his sister, "Hopefully the others are better off than we are," he replied grimly as Corbin spoke up, "I sure hope so. I left some people I found myself attached to back there... when I came here to meet up with my sister. I'd hate to find they were attacked with such fervor as we are, the moment I stepped away," his eyes fell upon the bell the Wraith was carrying, "I sure as hell hope you're not the only one with one of those bells," a pause, "I am really beginning to wish I'd taken one myself..." he didn't need one for himself right now, but he grimly wished he could help all three ghouls in their group right now; they weren't fairing really well, from what he could tell.

When Io's battle was finally done, he moved towards her, his arms still covering Alessa, but actually relaxing their grip around her, now that the imminent danger seemed to be over, "You're one to talk, Io," he let out a sigh, watching as Livi moved to check on her, "I didn't think you'd appreciate my interrupting the battle. I figured I'd simply get in your way, and a distraction seemed like that last thing you possibly needed at the time," a pause followed, and he frowned, "Are you quite alright?" of course, it was right about then that Braum swept his sister right into his arms, and his brows shot up once more. He opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it, instead choosing to smirk; this time though, the smirk was decidedly warmer, much closer to a real smile than anything else, "Interesting," the word was actually breathed out softly, and it was possible only Alessa heard him at this point.

Gabrian paused when he heard someone call out names somewhere behind him, and he turned to see... what looked like a zombie. She appeared out of nowhere, "Fellows? I believe we have a new party member," and then he raised his voice, calling out to Rain, "Oi! You there! Are you quite alright?" he cry of rage and pain... seemed to point out that no, she was not quite alright. Unable to just let it be, he walked over in Rain's direction, first looming over her and then crouching on the ground beside her, with Alessa still in his arms, "What happened?"

Draven had watched the battles quietly. These new creatures matched this snow filled landscape so well. They almost would have fit in back home...aside from the attacking students thing. That and the fact they were made of...JOY. Frightening, really.

He looked to the other students. It seemed at least some of them were going to rest, which made sense. He knew there had been monsters in the forest, and then there were the ones on this path as well. Luckily, Draven still felt rather good, for being through a train crash and trekking through a freezing forest filled with JOY. Draven wasn't sure what he wanted to do....part of him wanted to continue on. He might have liked the mountains, but he did want to get through this path as soon as he could.

He cast a slight glance to Alerick and Eracs and asked, "What do you two think we should do? Travel on?" Draven wanted to travel on, but he certainly didn't want to head forward alone. He turned his head to look at the path before them, failing to notice the latest student to suddenly arrive.

Rain blinked a few times before being able to focus on the boy that spoke to her, "I was with Krumm car. I was in charge of it actually. I followed them to CandyCane Lane. I knew it was dangerous but how could I leave them? They were my responsibility. I was supposed to protect them, to help them." She paused to stare at the ground as if trying to search for some reason all this happened.

"CandyCane Lane is as they said it would be. There were many of us but we stood no chance. There was.. a snow ninja, I think that's what he was. He had multiple swords and he was very strong. We were defeated so quickly. I.. I think he killed them. They were barely hanging on when I attacked. He sent me here because.. because I hit him with this," she lifted up her bag of yellow snow looking positively stricken.

I failed them, she silently added. She hoped they were okay. She hoped someone was able to rescue them and if so, she'd be reunited with them soon.

"How.. how have you guys fared," she asked. She felt so foreign here. But this would be her new group and if she really wanted to take down anything related to Christmas -- which she did -- then she would need to work with them. "I'm Rain Rottingham," she stated looking up at him before her jaw dropped in surprise, "A..Alessa!?!?" Oh was she happy to see that shapeshifter. "I'm glad you're okay!" Without thinking, she gave both Gabrian and Alessa a hug.

Dare she hope that there were others here she would know?

Gabrian remain crouched on the snow as the girl explained her situation, his features slowly forming a scowl; he hope to Jack none of the Gromble students had taken that road. He clearly remembered how the headmistress had stressed for them to stay off of it. The girl looked clearly traumatized by the experience though, and as such, he hardly thought it to be a good idea to berate her (or her partners) for their choice of route. Specially seeing as how she'd apparently only gone out of a wish to keep her comrades safe.

"I'm sure they're fine. I..." a pause, "I don't think the school would have brought us here if we could honestly die - I'm sure they've somehow made their way to the infermary," technically, he wasn't really beliving his own words, but it seemed like the only good thing to say, "You had no way to know your..." his gaze lowered to the bag of snow she was carrying and he made a face, faltering for a second, "Your uhm... yellow snow would do that. It's not your fault."

He honestly didn't even want to know why that snow was yellow.

"Well, we're obviously fairing much better than you did back at Candy cane lane. I'm Gabrian," he replied steadily and then lifted his arms a touch in order to introduce the bunny there, but was cut off quite swiftly before he could get Alessa's name out of his mouth. Out of all the possible thing he could have been expecting, a hug was probably the lowest of that list. In fact, it probably wasn't even on that list at all. Despite that, he suddenly found himself embraced by the clearly emotional undead girl; he barely had time to rearrange poor Alessa so she wouldn't be smothered, choosing to hold her awkwardly and loosely with just one arm. This left his right arm free to pat Rain's back just as awkwardly as he held the rabbit, "There, there?" after patting her a few times, he tried to withdraw from Rain and offered her a hand as he stood up, "The others are just up ahead."

"Thank you," she whispered as she pulled back from the two of them. She wasn't sure what exactly she had thanked him for. Everything? She was thankful to not feel as alone as she had a few minutes ago. She was thankful that Alessa was okay and he had to be really good guy to take her in like that. She had been one of the more vulnerable students from Krumm car, at least when she was in her rabbit form. It was a good sign. A very good sign. If not for the others, she knew this Gabrian was of the good sort. Perhaps Iggy and Julian had come this way like that had initially wanted? She was also thankful for his kind words. The infirmary made sense and she knew that the students would be okay, deep down. The school was responsible for them and she knew all to well what a heavy burden responsibility could cause.

"I shouldn't waste any more of your time," she smiled, moving quickly to stand. "We shouldn't fall too far behind, these are dangerous times." If the CandyCane Lane had snow ninjas, she could only imagine what an icy mountain path would have. They also had a lot of ground to cover and the sooner she got to wherever they were going, the sooner she'd have her payback.

She took a few steps in the direction the others had gone before pausing as a realization hit her. She would be a follower here, not the leader. She was surprised to find it didn't bother her one bit. In fact, she felt relieved.

Igneous trudged her way up the icy path, carrying her tent bundle. So far she hadn't seen any others though there had been signs of their passing. She hoped that the others from her car would be ok on the paths they took - perhaps they would meet again once they made it to the end of the trails.

The sound of battle ahead caused her to hurry her steps. She got in sight of the fight just in time to see the end - hopefully they weren't hurt too badly! She couldnt recognize anyone at this distance so she picked up her pace again in hopes of catching up with at least part of the group. There was saftey in numbers, right?

"I'd think going on would be a good idea. I mean we get further that way and we'll be closer to the Sandy Claws' work shop sooner...well maybe. We will have to rest at some point but I think for now, while were still good, we should continue on till we need a break." Push it till they had to rest, till then trek on and see how far they could get.

Draven was right, the attacking beasts would have fit in at home, save fr the joy factor. But he didn't say this, he was thinking about eating the snowman if he ran into one...as for the fluffy thing he still was divided on that.

"What about you Eracs?"

Nodding wordlessly, Corbin began trudging through the snow after the lightning dragon, keeping the girl Braum entrusted him with as safe as he could. Cradled between unfamiliar black feathered wings, he had to wonder what she would think if she awoke to a face as strange as his--similar to Braum but so terribly different.

His own eyes were peeled and on the look out for any strangeness, not wanting to get ambushed by a yeti or a gangster snowman. Frowning and looking down at his own injuries, not quite healing thanks to a distinct lack of FEAR but not getting any worse despite the JOY. Maybe he should use one of those pills on himself after all.

Gently, he began sorting out a dug out spot to rest Haddiya, laying her down amidst the softer patch of snow beneath the ice caked top layer. Corbin set to work on unbuttoning his flannel shirt and shrugging it off his shoulders, long silver necklaces with two cross pendants and an ankh spilling forth. He folded it up into something of a pillow and rested it under the ghoul's head for better support and at least slight warmth while one of his wings acted as a wind barrier. Now, bandages... Well, the only thing he really had was his tent or his shirt.

They were on the home stretch, did he really need his tent anymore? Well, if he did, maybe he could find someone to share one with if he was thoroughly exhausted. Out came the tent and he quickly set to work on ripping the fabric into long, dark sheets. "You'll be alright," he tried to reassure her as he began dressing the wounds but he couldn't be sure she was even conscious. When he was about halfway down, he glanced over his shoulder and saw another snowman was setting to work on attacking.

Better safe then sorry. The Wraith reached into his pocket and brought out a Pumpkin Pill, popping it into his mouth. A rush of sweet Halloweeny taste and he could feel the FEAR coursing through him. His wounds, though minor, were numerous and quickly patched themselves so that, once more, his skin was as white and unblemished as a china doll.

She wasn't really sure what to make of all this...this worry Gabe was expressing. It was weird. And uncomfortable. And Jack damn it, it made her look like the bad guy again. She sighed, mumbling against her paws, "Well, don't worry too much. I'm tired, but as far as injuries I just look worse than I am." Alwine had, after all, used a heal bell on her so she wasn't as bad off as she had been originally.

"..." Alessa peeked her head out from from Gabe's arms where she had, ah, otherwise been awaiting the result of the battle. Seeing that the yeti creature was gone and seemed to relax. That was fast too! "Great job!" she called to Iolanthe and the other ghoul who had been fighting too. It sounded a little weird, but she couldn't say much else because...she hadn't been watching, for er, one reason or another. She was about to try and say something else when she saw Rain, causing her ears to immediately shoot up.

"Rain!! I thought you were going to-" she immediately shut her small mouth when Rain told her story. Snow ninjas? That...made the yeti seem rather friendly. She shivered a bit with discomfort and fear, after all, she had made friends in her car and to think they were being attacked so mercilessly... "I-I'm sure Gabe's right," she said, trying to keep her voice firm. "The academy wouldn't bring us out here to let us die. I'm sure they're okay, at least in the long and short of it." During their hug she leaned up a bit, bringing her nose up to touch Rain's cheek. "I'm glad you're okay. I'm glad you're here."
